Having wandered around the forest for Tao knows how long, Yoshika felt her stomach grumble, as though it were a dragon, desiring to be satisfied. "Soooooo hungry! Food should know better than to run away so much, especially when I'm starving like this" Looking around she only saw trees and trees, not even a tasty meal was in sight. Voices started approaching the jiangshi’s position, chatting cheerfully in the middle of trees. “… I wonder what Tenma-sama would say if he knew I got so distracted from my mission… I feel so very ashamed…” A polite sounding voice rang. “Oh, look! It’s a squirrel! Look at how fat it is, so cute~!” A childish sounding one ignored what was being said by the other. “Stop ignoring me, please! If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be in this predicament!” “But it was fun, wasn’t it? Ehehe~” “Well, it certainly was fun… BUT that’s not the point! I need to find Aya!” The voices continued chatting, getting progressively louder as they got closer. Yoshika's ears prickled up when she heard the mention of the word fat, and headed towards the direction of the voice, being as silent as possible 'Who might these fellas be? maybe they'll help me get some food, or better yet maybe I can help myself to some food.' Yoshika had gotten a glimpse of the group, a tasty looking girl with wolf ears, and a girl that looked to be too energetic to even bother to run after. “Huh…” Koishi stopped looking at something. “Is something wrong?” Koishi smiled and just like that, she disappeared before both the jiangshi and the tengu’s eyes. Creeping behind Yoshika, she made her presence known once again and with her arms extended to the air in a menacing pose, she screamed at the top of her lungs. “RAAAAAWR!!” "Ahhhhhhhgh!!! L-let go off me!” Yoshika was caught up between furious and shocked. How had the girl even disappeared like that, and gotten behind the jiangshi who had trained so hard to hone her senses? As she struggled to get free, Yoshika saw the other girl approach, and wondered 'Could this be it? The time when the hunter becomes the hunted?' “I can’t let you go, you look tasty. I think I’m gonna eat you! Eehehe…” The satori said, a creepy smile plastered on her face. “You’re blue too, You taste like blueberries, right? … I love blueberries~” "OH S**T!! Master save me!" Yoshika struggled even more frantically, but the energetic girl had some crazy arm strength. “Ahahaha~!” Momiji sighed. “Please, stop torturing the poor jiangshi…” The green haired girl eyes went big as she stared intently at the girl she was holding captive. “Oh, a jiangshi! I never saw a jiangshi before!” She turned to Momiji. “Can we take her with us?” “I don’t think you should be asking me if we---“ “Hey, can we take you with us?” She asked, looking at Yoshika again, a grin on her face. "Eh? Ehhh? Ehhhhhhhhhhhh!?" Yoshika was completely astounded by this development one second she was gonna eat, the next one she was gonna get eaten, and now they were asking her to join them. "Who are you crazy people anyways?" “I’m Koishi!” The short girl said cheerfully, raising her arm in a greeting as Momiji commented on how Koishi was the only crazy person in the group. “And that’s doggie lady!” “My name is Momiji Inubarashi.” She bowed a little and then added in an annoyed tone. “I’m a wolf tengu.” Somewhere deep in her mind Yoshika decided to just give up. "So loony ghost and Shiranui girl? I'm Yoshika Miyako, servant of the great Seiga Kaku." Then after a pause "Sooo… you guys got any food?" After spending so much time alone in the forest she wasn't gonna allow this golden opportunity to speak with someone just leave her. ‘I wonder why people always end up giving me nicknames, Momiji is such an easy name to remember…’ The wolf tengu wondered a bit chagrined. “I’m not a ghost!” “Seriously, that’s where your problem with the nickname lays?” “And we have no food.” Koishi herself looked a bit displeased with her situation. “I had food, but she ate it all.” She looked at Koishi accusatorily. “But I was hungry. And I’m hungry again.” The little girl looked at Momiji. “Can we go to the Human Village and get some soba noodles?” The wolf facepalmed. “That’s where I wanted to go in the first place!” “Them what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” She chirped and she started to hop away, leading the way. “Aaah…” The wolf watched as the girl walked off and then looked concernedly at Yoshika. “Are you sure you want to tag along?” "If you know a way out of this forest then, gladly. If not then maybe I could still follow my original plan." "Yes, we do." She started following Koishi. "May I ask what your original plan is?" Yoshika followed the girls after thinking about it for a bit. "I just wanted to eat something." "That... was your plan?" Momiji looked forward, a look of exasperation on her face. She had never left the mountain, when she did leave she was nervous about the kind of people she'd meet and now she concluded that all the nervousness had been justified. "Oh don't look at me like that, it worked out fine in the end didn't it, Pooch?" Yoshika said already able to savor the food that was waiting for them at the village. “Please call me by my name, and I’m not a dog.” Momiji said for what felt like the hundredth time. “And follow us if you will, it’s your funeral.” She looked forward again and after some seconds. “No pun intended.” "Well your collar says otherwise referring to the dog statement, and to the other one, you don't know what it's like to be lost in a forest all by yourself." “Collar? What do you…” She looked down to her neck. “What?!” She looked forward to see Koishi gone. “When did she do this ag— Why this again?!” “Here you go.” Koishi said casually as she put a collar on Yoshika’s neck as well, giving them both a big smile. “Now neither of you will get lost!” "What is this!?" Yoshika was once again surprised by Koishi's 'disappearing act' as she thought it was "I don't even have dog ears like Pooch over here, so take it off of me!" Yoshika tried to get rid of the collar only to find she couldn't take it off. "Ah dammit, also you just did that again didn't you? If not a ghost what are you, a ninja?" Yoshika scowled, she didn't quite like the concept of being a pet….. at least not to this particular girl. “’Ninja’…” Koishi put a pensive finger on her chin. “That’s sounds pretty cool! I’ll be a ninja from now on! And that collar is important, you won’t get lost like this, isn’t it great?” Koishi resumed her walking while pulling on their leashes. Momiji opened her mouth to argue but then remembered how happy the girl had been when she had told her she’d be her friend. She put her hand over her face. It would be okay, she’d play along for a little while longer. Being dragged along Yoshika tried resisting for a bit, but preferring to walk on her own two feet rather than being dragged to the village, she did just that, albeit she thought to herself 'Please forgive me master, I didn't mean to become the cute pet of anyone else.' After some an hour of walking, they finally set foot on the human village, and promptly started getting weird looks from the passerby. Luckily for the girl accompanying Koishi, the girl had found her way to the food cart and had forgotten all about the leashes. Momiji automatically used the opportunity to take it off and throw it in the garbage bin on the side of the road. “Three bowls of soba please!” Koishi asked the vendor, putting the money on his hand. Observing how Momiji had taken off her collar Yoshika promptly did the same. And then, staring at her bowl of soba Yoshika felt like crying tears of joy in the thirty seconds it took her to wolf it down. "Seconds please!" Momiji looked at the soba bowl and then at Koishi. “Thank you.” The girl didn’t reply, she just smiled, it wasn’t her over-cheerful smile, just a plain, genuine smile. A silent ‘thanks for tagging along’. And then she happily started eating her own soba, quietly commenting on how delicious it was. The vendor gave Yoshika another bowl as Koishi gave him a nod. At that moment they hear an overly annoying laugh. “Haw! Haw! Haw! Haw! Haw!” As the laugh permeated their ears, Yoshika mouthed "Oh no" for she knew the owner of that laugh. The other two looked completely unaffected by the annoying laugh, they continued eating the noodles happily oblivious to the jiangshi’s predicament. And so the curtains to the inside of the cart were spread open, and a small silver-haired girl entered with an obvious swagger in her stride. "My, my, if it isn't the jiangshi, you left earlier than me and I already caught up with you Haw! Haw! Haw!" Yoshika had a look of annoyance on her face, knowing full well the sort of person this was "What do you want Mononobe?" "I want to solve this incident just like you do Jiangshi. And I found you by….. umm…." "You just wanted some food didn't you?" "…..Yes" Peering from her bowl to the newly arrived girl, Momiji saw as the silver haired woman was almost drooling over the table. “Huh…” Koishi took notice of the stranger and turned around, casually stating. “Your hat is funny and weird.” And then turning back to her food. "H-how dare you!? Your hat is weirder than mine you meanie, also this hat was a gift from Miko-sama." Futo could barely keep herself from crying, instantly losing the apparently infinite egomania she showed just seconds before. “’Miko’? Isn’t she too poor to afford gifts? I heard she almost starved to death once from lack of donations.” The girl commented, completely mistaking Miko for _the_ miko. “Oh, I heard that too.” Momiji confirmed. "Miko-sama is not dirt poor like the Hakurei miko,… s-stop it please." “I thought all the miko were poor, but then I met the people from the Moriya Shrine.” She looked a little upset at the bowl on her hands. “They didn’t let me have a radioactive pet like they did with big sis.” "An active ratio? Is that a feng shui term from this era?" Futo not knowing much about the world, was surprised to learn feng shui had kept extending over the many centuries she was gone. “No, it’s like…” Koishi waved her arms explicatively as she elaborated on the matter. “You catch a sun god, yes? And you feed it to one of your pets. And then your pet goes super powerful and shiny like the sun!” "A sun god?" Futo's eyes lighted up full of childish glee and then she said "So cool! Please tell me more!"

"A fairy working to solve an incident, now that's a sight to see..." the black fairy said, with a sarcastic tone. The green-haired fairy clenched her fist as she was flying above the Road of Liminality, trying to at least find someone she had been travelling with since the incident started. She was weak, yes. She probably wouldn't be able to do much. But the last thing she needed is being told that by a fellow fairy. "You have someone you really care for, don't you?"Ever since she left Higan, her mind was filled with memories of her best friend. She couldn't let that ice fairy out of her head. The moment they met the ripper... The moment she saw Cirno being grabbed by the culprit of this whole incident... She started to fear something. An unknown feeling to her, at least until now. The black fairy closed her eyes. "I crossed the river by my own will, not out of curiosity. I wanted to die."The death of a loved one. That was what she feared. But it wasn't the same kind of sisterly love that Lily White had with her twin. No. This was different. She didn't want Cirno to get more involved with the incident. She feared something may end up happening to her... That she would lose the ice fairy forever. That was why she was working as hard as ever. She wanted to get done with the incident already. But... She was still a fairy. Amongst the weakest fairies, really. Even if she tried her best... She wouldn't be able to do much more than gather information. "Magic."
"Huh?"
"Magic is nothing more than saying some fancy words and using nature's power to your advantage. It just so happens that we fairies are experts at getting nature's aid."The green-haired fairy stopped in her tracks. There was nothing she could do. Fairies were condemmed to be eternally bullied and eternally useless. This was what happened when Mother Nature divides her power amongst millions of beings. --- "When a fairy ascends, it's because they have a very strong desire... Or because they truly love something. Just like how I wanted to feel death... Or how my sister loved spring." the black fairy lowered her head. "On an ascension, your general abilities increase. Sprites are stronger, smarter, and just plain around better than common fairies. It's sad that most sprites vanished." she turned around to look at Dai. "However, should you excel at something in special... Your ascension will enchance that ability to its full extent, far more than anything else. If you excel too much and your desire is really strong... Then you might even become an Embodiment. But that never happened, as far as I know myself."
A little, emerald-colored cocoon was sitting near the shores of Misty Lake.
If one would peek inside it, they could see someone sleeping there, in a fetal position.

Loverly collab with the one and only Dani herself. We fite.
The earth rabbits stopped on their tracks as soon as one touched the girl lying in the bed.
“What…? My hand is all murky…”
“Poison?”
“Then, it must be…”
“She’s a celestial.”
“How do we treat a celestial?"
The cloaked figure looked at them as they fussed over. She knew it very well, celestials’ bodies are poisonous to youkai.
“Should we call the boss?”
“Well, she’s gonna kick it if we don’t do something…”
One of the rabbits rushed off as the figure watched, passively waiting for the events in front of her to develop.
Tewi Inaba had been watching from a door, and chose this moment to speak to the mysterious figure.
“Ah, ma’am, if you could please come this way. You need to fill out paperwork and such, it’s only a formality.” Tewi said, in her best timid rabbit voice. “It will only take a second.”
The figure peered at rabbit from her cloak.
“I suppose I could.” She watched as more rabbits entered the room. “But it would be quite naïve of me to trust a trickster.”
A sigil filled the room floor, the dark, ominous green glow that had become so familiar to the rabbits keeping them in place. Tewi grinned, saying "Thought so." Then, immediately she yelled "KAGUYA!"
Suddenly, a rainbow burst of light shot through the thin paper walls of the room, slamming into the figure as she cast her sigil. At the same time, the Earth rabbits in the room carried all the patients elsewhere, with an industriousness only their kind could procure.
“My apologies.” The figure became visible as the dust and debris settled in, a glass wall formed in front of her, cracked. “But I have no intensions of playing games.” A smirk, walls formed around the group of rabbits that still hadn’t left the room, the blue haired girl being carried with them. Clenching her hands, the walls shattered, the green glass embedding itself on its targets. Blood tinted the floor.
The figure stretched her arm, a bluish white smoke seeping away from those who had stopped moving. She smirked, her eyes meeting the lunarian princess that had made herself known. “But if you intent on it, by all means.”
The instantaneous deaths of the Earth Rabbits startled Tewi, and she took a short moment to gather herself before saying; "I knew you were strange. I've lived over a thousand years, and I know about pretty much everyone. But you, I don't know you." The usually cheerful rabbit put on a face of grim determination. "And now you, you young, new stranger, you'll regret ever entering my mansion!"
Tewi began to charge forward, but a soft hand stopped her. Smiling, Kaguya said to Tewi without taking her eyes off the monster in front of her, "Ah, inaba, please go help your friends. I think I'll be the player in this game" Without a second for Tewi to object, Kaguya threw her out the door, and sealed the entrances with her magic.
Her gaze still on her enemy, Kaguya's tone shifted to a dark, maliciously playful tone. "Now, I haven't had the opportunity for this kind of fun in a long time."
The ripper smirk didn’t falter. “I’m glad I can be of use to you, princess.” She looked casually to the blocked exits and then back at Kaguya. “That won’t work, you know? But I shall humor you.” Wasting no time, Kaguya threw a card forward and declared "Divine Treasure "Brilliant Dragon Bullet"! Immediately, the room was filled with bright rainbow lights, and the ripper was slammed with a force much greater than any danmaku fight would allow.
Fortunately, the waiting room in which the beast had infiltrated was close to the entrance, one wall facing the front gate. The impact hurtled the creature through this wall, as Kaguya's sealing magic shattered around it. "You're right, that won't work. But it wasn't supposed to." Kaguya said, walking through the dust cloud that had sprung up. "I thought this would be a better setting, is all."
The Ripper appeared as the dust cleared, apparently undamaged and still smirking. Kaguya continued, "Oh, and did you like that card I just used? A little more powerful than the ones we use in games, you know. Eirin was pretty adamant about having these...."
“Eirin is wise.” The ripper slowly looked at the manor. “One should always use their full potential when they have the chance.” Her eyes fell on Kaguya again. “She is wise indeed, but I can’t say the same for you.” Raising her arm once again. “I’m sure that she would have focused on what her target does and doesn’t.” The green glow that always seemed to accompany her magic could be seen emanating from somewhere in the mansion. More white smoke wavered lazily from the mansion into the ripper. “Or… do you think that weak attack would stop my spell?” She chuckled calmly. “Are you in the mood for some fireworks to brighten our waltz?”
"Not worried, go ahead" Kaguya said, calmly drawing another spell card. Smirking, she said "I doubt your lights would be prettier than mine, though." The ripper chuckled. “That is unarguably true. Danmaku is the transmutation, the physical manifestation of what goes on people’s hearts, their feelings. Everyone I have battled so far had very beautiful spell cards, indeed. However, I have no heart and no feelings.”
And without any sign of warning, the mansion exploded. The ground shook as if it was an earthquake, pieces of wood and rock flew in all directions as the Ripper stood unmoving, apparently unaffected by the possibility of getting squashed by the debris. The noise was deafening and the shockwaves send enough wind to blow a regular earth rabbit away. The explosion leveled a majority of the mansion, while the rest of it lay in shambles, riddled with debris. There were bodies of rabbits strewn around the wreckage, but…. Not as much as there should have been. Amidst the destruction, however, was a perfectly square wooden structure with a faint blue glow, unviolated by the magical warpath that had taken place.
As the noise started to subside, the Ripper chuckled once again. “As expected. What an interesting magic that is, I would love to get a crack at your rabbit box sometime in the future.” Not bothering to turn around, Kaguya concluded “See? Not worried. Eirin is a tad paranoid, but nothing if not prepared.” Hesitating, Kaguya continued with a trace of sadness “Of course, something like this wouldn’t go without casualty. Plans never go that well. It’s a good thing they’re rabbits, I suppose…”
The waves of bluish smoke were scary to behold, they quivered like silk mantles to the Ripper as she breathed out. “Would you still be in the moon, nothing of this sort would have happened to them.”
Kaguya took a moment to think, looking upwards at the blank, mist-covered canopy. “Perhaps you’re right.” She decided on, looking back down at her foe. “But If I were still on the moon, Eirin would be as well, and all those poor, weak humans would have died. That wouldn’t be good either, you know?”
Suddenly, Kaguya thrust forth another card, and said “Now, I hear you have a little trouble with something my sparring partner is quite fond of. Divine Treasure "Salamander Shield"! ” A circle of magical flames blinked into existence, and blanket the space in front of Kaguya. Moments later, the wall of fire thrust forward, bathing the darkness with pulsating red light. As the fire moved forward, Kaguya moved back, and knelt to the ground, her palm flat on the soil.
‘̵͉͔͍N̝͇̲͇̺o̙͡,̩̘ ̭̫̠̹̭̕n̳̥̤̤̞͝o̲̫͚̤!̤̫̤̝͔͖̟ ̸̹̳P̮̲͔͉ͅl̷̥̪͕̭e̸̠͍̦̭̪a̶̰̹͓̜͉ͅs̪̦̳̥e͚͓̜͍͇͚̖,̵̞̝̪͖̰͍̜ ҉̭̲̩ru͕n̨̥̮̼̫,̵̼͕̹ ̩͜p̦̥͉̱̜̖̦l̝̞̤̫͢e̗͕̕a̤͕͡s͕̘̠ę̪̥ͅ!̪͕͎'̞̞͍̠̝̭̟
The flames shot forward at a considerable speed, the ripper stepped back and thrust her arms forwards, shielding her face from the flames, but they engulfed her where she stood as if she was nothing but a leaf.
Suddenly, bursting through the flames, the Ripper leaped forward, robes charred and in flames, she swung a scythe at Kaguya’s chest, effectively drawing blood. She stood up, green orbs peering from the charred cloak. “She is afraid of fire, I’m not.” Quickly opening her palm towards her opponent, a glass spike formed and blasted against her at almost point black distance.
"Ah" Kaguya managed to utter, before the glass punctured her left shoulder. Her hand left the ground, but the palm print she left glowed faintly. The pain hit Kaguya hard and fast, but at this point in her long life, pain wasn't terribly distracting. What worried her was the slice on her chest. Coughing up a little blood, Kaguya said to the Ripper;
"Well, good to know I'm talking to the smart one then. Lucky you, you interrupted what I was doing there, but lucky for me, this gives you a choice..." Coughing up a little more blood, Kaguya cleared her voice and said "I was working on activating the most powerful magical barrier in Gensokyo, excepting that of Hakurei. You have, say, 45 seconds to get the hell away from here before you're locked in." Grinning grimly, Kaguya continued "Now, that might not sound like a great deal for me, you staying in here. But, hey, I'm sure you're a busy girl. Things to do. It would take you a considerable amount of time to get out of this one.... unlike me, you don't have an eternity to wait..."
“The choice is obvious.” She smirked. Clearly ready to resume her fighting.
“HEY! REIMU, SHE’S HERE!” A blue beam hit the Ripper squarely on the back, making her tumble forward towards Kaguya.
Not one to waste a good opportunity, Kaguya caught the Ripper as she lurched forward, and using the forward momentum, swung her around and back towards the outer gate. At this point, any resentment towards Reisen for insisting the princess learn some close combat vanished, as her indomitable foe left the area of interest.
Moments later, there was a bright flash, and a wall of haze formed around the grounds of Eientei.
The bamboo canes started rustling loudly, as someone moved through them. A lunarian immortal, the Hakurei miko and who else more where approaching. That moment the Ripper had had the upper hand, but now she was surrounded and cast outside. She was no fool, she wouldn’t wait until they ganged on her. Casting Kaguya a smirk, she dematerialized into the darkness.
The rustling between the canes stopped and the light sound of someone approaching became evident in the silence. Marisa stepped outside and looked at Kaguya and then to the mansion in front of her, completely shocked, she opened her moth to say something but words failed her.
Inside the walls, Kaguya stood up and surveyed the scene, her eyes stopping on her saviours... "...Familiar sight, eh?" Kaguya said to Marisa, managing a little smile.
The magician was still taking everything in, but she supported Kaguya nonetheless and gave her a humorless smile. "Yeah... You look like crap ze."
"Mmmm" Kaguya murmured, glancing down at her chest. Her shoulder was already healing, but the gash on her chest was still bleeding profusely. "I was afraid this would be a problem." Standing up, Kaguya walked over to the invisible magical barrier surrounding her home. Putting her hand on the flat surface, she said to the black and white magician; "Ah, how rude of me. I thank you, Kirisame, for helping me. I would offer you asylum, but I'm afraid I cannot lower this barrier."
"You don't need to thank me ze, you guys saved my skin countless times before." She frowned, looking at the debris and then at the box. "Are they alright inside there? What about Reisen and Tewi?" She asked, her voice unsure if she wanted to know the answer.
Turning around, and walking back towards the rubble, Kaguya put her hand up and waved Marisa off, saying "Oh, don't worry. Reisen isn't here, and Tewi is inside. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to bed." With that, Kaguya flew to the protected room, blasted open a wall, and threw herself on the floor amidst the terrified rabbits, exhausted.
“Aah…” Marisa looked as the princess dragged herself to the 'bed'. “R-right…”
She looked one last time at the box before she left. In her mind, there was only one person she wanted to find no matter what.

With a slam, the door to the Kirisame Shop closed as the hurried but heavy footsteps of its owner dragged themselves through the wooden ground.
The badly repaired broom was carefully laid against a pile of tomes and the magician reached for her head in an automated movement to remove the witch hat that wasn’t there, she sighed tiredly as she remembered why it was missing.
Tiredly, Marisa made her way to one of her many cabinets, stumbling on some junk in the process. Kicking a medieval chest plate away from the cabinet door, she opened it. Inside there were rows of portions, some sharing the same hue, others completely different, dust had settled on top and around the glass containers. Fortunately for her, that was a cabinet that didn’t see much use. Taking a hold of a green, fluorescent potion, she reminisced.
“Lady Mima, what’s all this?” The blond child looked curiously to objects on the table. There were mushrooms and herbs she hadn’t seen before, a Bunsen burner, mortars and all kinds of objects she remembered seeing in Kourindou.
“You want to be a magician, and I admire your determination, but no matter how we put it, you’re just a human.”
“But even humans---!”
“Humans are squishy. You want to learn how to fly? You will fall countless times, you’ll break bones, you’ll get cuts and bruises, that’s unavoidable.”
Marisa looked nervously at her master. Just like learning how to walk, you had to fall and stumble a few times.
“Seems like you’ve realized it now.” Mima rested her hand on the table. “Healing potions, energy potions, potions to fight colds and other inconveniences, that’s what you’re going to learn today.”
The magician smiled, downing the potion in one go and making a sour face as the repulsive taste invaded her buds. Throwing the empty bottle casually to a pile of parchment, she grabbed some clean bandages and translucid liquid from the last shelf and sat down her bed.
Taking off her top, Marisa removed the bandage from her wound and looked at it, wincing at how it looked.
“…This is gonna leave a mark.” She poured some of the liquid on the wound and hissed between her teeth, she then wrapped the clean bandage around it and proceeded to do the same for her forehead, albeit more clumsily.
After drinking another potion, orange this time around, and discarding the pajama for her witch clothes, she lay down on her bed - it felt so good to be back in her room, alone and in peace and quiet.
Grabbing the notebook from the pajama pocket and rereading what she had written at Chireiden.
“’(…)you love her’…. Huh?”
How did the magician of love never notice that? Why hadn’t she stopped to think about what that simple word entailed? She was sure she had once talked about it with her master, yes once…
“Hey, Marisa. You look distracted, did something happen?” The evil spirit looked at her apprentice from her desk.
“Hmm… It’s just, back in the forest I heard a random youkai talking about ‘making love’. I mean, love is everywhere, how do you make it?”
The green haired woman backed away and looked at Marisa with a blank, unreadable expression on her face. “You parents never talked with you about that?”
The girl frowned slightly without meeting her master’s eyes. “My parents were never big on love talk.”
“Right…” Mima answered slowly as if chewing her own words. Crossing her arms, she starred at Marisa straight in the eyes. “Alright, Marisa, pay attention to what I’m going to say.”
“Yes, Lady Mima.” The girl looked attentively to the woman in front of her.
“When one person loves another very much…”
Marisa had vigorously started taking notes.
“Or when they’re so stupidly drunk they don’t know any better…”
The girl looked away from the paper and to her master, unsure of what to expect next. “Aah… what?”
“They basically---“
Intense dragon imagery filled her mind, along with suggestive gestures. There was nothing much she could remember, Marisa wasn’t sure if it was because of the Ripper’s influence or because her young self had repressed them to the darkest corners of her mind. She was leaning towards the latter.
‘GAAAAAAH! NO, NO, NO! WHY DID I GO AND REMEMBER THIS?! WHY LADY MIMA?! I’VE GOT TO REPRESS IT, THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE! HUH… HOW DID THAT SONG… AH! DO YOU LIKE WAFFLES? YEAH, WE LIKE WAFFLES! DO YOU LIKE PACAKES?! YEAH, WE LIKE PANCAKES! DO YOU LIKE FRENCH TOAST?! YEAH, WE LIKE FRENCH TOAST! DUDURU! CAN’T WAIT TO GET A MOUTH FULL! WAFFLES!!’ The present Marisa grabbed her head in despair as if trying to exorcize a personal demon of some sort.
“Of… all the things…” She could feel her face burning up. Marisa was glad she was no longer in Chireiden and that her mind was free from the satori’s watchful third eye.
Something caught her attention as her eyes fell back on the open notepad, she grabbed it again, a nostalgic smile formed on her lips. Written on the yellowed pages were spells she had hypothesized about when she was a kid. Some outward impossible and nonsense, some too advanced for her kid-self and others in need of testing.
“Oh…” She focused on a particular one. “Hmmm…”
Rushing outside without the potion being on full effect would likely result in her passing out in mid-air. The magician decided to wait and read on her old notes, that had be distraction enough to stop her from being impulsive and just jump to the broom and fly off.

Elis landed in front of the gigantic, crystalline fortress of Pandemonium. She made some kind of sign to the demon guards protecting the entrance, in order to confirm that Kasen and Flandre were her allies. Once she had done so, she turned around to the pair. "Well, here it is. Go talk with Shinki all you want, then get out of Makai." she started walking past the two, but stopped after some steps, directing her sight to Flandre. "Oh. And don't cause havoc again, little vampire. I won't bail you out a second time." she said, and left flying.
"Well... now that we're here..." Kasen felt sweat trailing down her face. "I... have no idea what else we should ask her besides 'how do we kill it'."
"She banned dream manipulation here, didn't she?" Flandre rubbed her chin. "If my own story tells me anything... People won't forbid something unless they have seen what it can do. So Shinki probably knows someone who dealt with that kind of power. It might be our best clue." she shrugged. "But yeah, asking her how to deal with the ripper might be a good idea too."
"Well... Let's see what she has to say..." 'I really hope she isn't a weirdo...' Kasen started walking inside, her footsteps echoing in the silence.
"Though... I wonder if Alice herself didn't know anything about it, since she lived here. Then again, it was probably banned before she was even around."
"Or maybe no one asked her about it? Then again, I don't think many people know what the ripper's ability is." the young scarlet sister looked around the area. "This place is kind of creepy... So silent..."
"And huge... I have no idea how Shinki looks like or where she could be." Kasen looked around. "I should probably have asked about it..."
"Hmm... Maybe..." Flan put her hands around her mouth and shouted with all her strength. "HELLO?! WE'RE LOOKING FOR SHINKI! WE HAVE STUFF TO TELL HER REGARDING HER DAUGHTER!"
Suddenly, a countless footsteps could be heard running in their direction, and before they could react, maids were surrounding them.
"Ah....ah..." Kasen stuttered. "We come in peace!" She held her hands in the air as a sign she wasn't armed.
But the maids were simply whispering and looking around, as if expecting to see someone else with them.
The young vampire looked at the hermit, smiling. "See? It worked! Now we can tell them to take us to Shinki!"
A long-haired maid stepped from the group as the others cleared path to let her pass.
"You said... you have information regarding mistress Alice?" She looked around both of them and then looked back at them. "I see she's not with you, has something happened to her?" She looked concerned.
‘I guess she must be the head maid around here.’ Flandre thought, while looking at the maid. She nodded negatively. "Well... Nothing happened to that puppeteer girl as far as we know... But she might be in danger. Can we talk to Shinki?"
"In danger?!" She narrowed her eyes. "Is someone after her? I will personally hunt them down if they dare to---"
"Please, calm down." Kasen started before they ended up instigating a war after all. "An incident happened and we are hoping that Lady Shinki can help us solve it before people get hurt."
"Does that mean you can give me your word on how the mistress is safe?" The maid asked, a serious look on her face, eyes piercing Kasen's.
"I... can say that your mistress was safe last time I saw her."
"How long ago was that?"
"Ah..."
"I'm going to search for her!"
"There's such a commotion going on there... Has something interesting happened?" A long, silver haired woman dressed in red approached them with a smile on her face.
"Ah, Lady Shinki, my apologies!" The maid apologized, bowing a little.
The young vampire looked at the silver-haired woman and then at the blonde maid, her eyes going back and forth between the two a few times. ‘Now... If the maid had bluish hair, this would've been slightly hilarious...’ she faced Shinki. "I'm guessing you're Alice's mother?"
The woman's eyes suddenly grew bigger, out of the blue she held Flandre's hands in hers.
"Are you one of Alice's friends? I was so, so very worried she would make no friends. You know? She tends to be quiet and cold sometimes, but she's a really nice and caring little girl and I was so afraid she'd be alone with no one to support her..." Her eyes were sparkling with unshed tears. "I was so worried, she never visits and whenever she writes she never goes into much detail about her friends..."
The young vampire stared at the woman, blinking a few times. "Well I... Uh... I never met her personally but uh..." she looked at Kasen, with eyes that were pretty much screaming 'Help me out here!'.
"Oh..." The goddess looked disappointed.
"But I know Alice! She's a very polite and caring person." Kasen interjected. "People in the Human Village love her, she goes there to entertain the children with her doll plays, she's very well known there!"
The woman's feautures seemed to brighten up at that.
"Aww, my little Alice... I wonder why she has never mentioned that." She smiled. "I wish I could see her doll plays as well... She’s probably taller too..."
Flandre looked at the woman with curious eyes. ‘She... She doesn't look like someone who might kidnap a human child... Was Elis lying...?’ she shook her head. "Anyway, Ms... Shinki, is it? Regarding the reason why we came here..."
"Ah, yes... yes... My apologies..." She let go of Flandre's hands. "Since Elis-chan has let you in, I suppose you have something urgent to tell me." The silver headed woman started walking inside, her steps echoing in the large walls of the fortress. "Please, let me hear what you have to say."
Flandre started following the woman. "Well, uh... Where do I start...?" she slowly began to explain what she had found out during the investigation. "... So... We've come to the conclusion that this ripper guy, the culprit, has the power of dream manipulation. And since, well, you banned it here on Makai... We were hoping you would know something about it."
"What you know about that power is almost everything that there is to know about it." The goddess looked through one of the many windows on the walls, at the red sky. "That friend of yours with the sigil... does she still have it even now?"
"Well... I parted ways with Marisa and I haven't seen her since... But I guess that yeah, she does."
"I see..." Flandre lowered her head. "Is... there any way we can know who powers the ripper? Or how to find its real body? Actually..." she raised her head, her crimson eyes staring at Shinki. "Has this been done before?"
"Oh, countless times. Enough times to drive me to ban the practice from Makai." She entered what appeared to be a library, unlike the Voile, it was brightly illuminated and the books were neatly aligned on golden shelves.
"There was someone very well known in this kind of arts, but..."She stopped, back turned at them. "Those who refuse to listen to kind words and to reason can no longer be saved. We may be demons, but even demons have to be reasonable." The silver hair looked at the top shelves, silently reading the titles of rows and rows of dusty tomes. "Like its practitioners, magical items with this power too were destroyed."
Flandre looked around the library, slightly amazed. "So... Technically there shouldn't be a way for anyone to practice dream manipulation?"
"Mind you, I didn't... erase everyone that used this magic. But I've banished them from Makai." She reached for a book. "A ruler can't be that cold hearted, even if some of her subjects are. In other words, it's entirely possible someone survived and trained someone else on how to use this power. However, it's fortunately rare to find someone apt enough to control it properly."
"Fortunately rare, huh..." Flandre lowered her head. "Well, in that case we were unfortunately lucky to find one. Do you know of anyone who could be behind this? Any slight idea?"
"Unfortunately, you were." Shinki replied. "I don't know of anyone who could've done that... someone who's able to do that much is no common practitioner. They should know how to freely control their powers. And all of those powerful casters are long gone, from Makai and from the world."
Flandre sighed. "We've been running in circles all this time..."
"Maybe not entirely." The goddess rested her hand over the tome in her arms, she stood there in silence and then spoke again. "I don't think you fully understand it but... if someone who knows about this kind of arts gets wind of Marisa's sigil, they will, without a doubt, aim to kill her."

Everything hurts. The girl inflicted with emotional pain and physical pain stared at the ceiling. She felt hands touching her face. The sweet innocence of childhood. Her mind reflected back to a time when she wasn’t a trickster, but a conflicted girl between ideals.
Gensokyo was a peaceful place before a yearly cycle of an incident. There was no scarlet mist. The eternal winter. The fake moon. The flowers blooming in the wrong season. The weather behaved correctly.
Some however didn’t agree with the peaceful tone of Gensokyo. A large group of youkai banded together to peacefully change Gensokyo. However, some in the group didn’t want a peaceful change. They were a small splinter group. A rebel group that planned to upheave peace and replace it with chaos.
“THIS IS CHANGE!” A crazed voice screamed throughout the house. He wore a ragged robe, covering his face, he held a bloody weapon. He stood over a young woman, who had blood covered on her face. “W-w-what are you doing? Leave my family alone!!” She lunged at the man, going to punch him in the stomach, the man smirked bringing his sword down on her neck. A sharp yelp emitted from her mouth as she smashed into the floor. She felt her neck, there was a cut there; but she saw the shadow of the sword a second too late… SLAAAASH! She laid still. The man began walking out of the main room, entering the hallway, a faint cry broke the silence. As the man walked further down the hallway. The crying got progressively louder. “What’s the matter?” A young woman appeared. Like the man, she wore the same robe, however instead of wielding a sword. She had two gigantic steel claws; there was fresh blood on them. “Do you hear that?” The man pointed to a door. “It’s just a child dear. Unless that child is some sort of demon, we won’t have much trouble.” The woman smiled wickedly, seconds later, she charged at the door, slashing through the bamboo door, revealing only one thing. A baby girl.
The woman was just about ready to impale the baby; her claws lifted up, the bloodlust had taken control of her emotions. “One more victim will be enough!!” “ENOUGH!” The man walked in, grabbing her lifted arm. “Don’t you see the potential? This girl has no parents, we can use her!” The man smiled and reached down to pick up the girl. She lifted up the blanket, revealing tear filled eyes. Her eyes were a pale red with black hair. She began tugging at the giant claws, removing them. The woman wiped some fresh blood from her robes, grabbing the girl’s hair and wiping blood on a single strand of hair. “She needs a name…” The woman sighed, wiping the tears off the girl’s face and the girl grabbed onto one of her hand, smiling. “Her name… shall be Seija.”
Well, that’s what they told me anyway.
Too bad, it was all lies. Lies burying the truth.
Stupid!
They not only killed whatever doubts I had, but they murdered her!!
Seija screamed for a single second, there was no one in the room to hear her internal torture. She grabbed the pillow, putting it over her face. Her memories faded back into a simpler time.
The patter of rain broke the silence of the room, two girl sat in silence across from each other, until one lifted her finger and she spoke. “Where the hell are you parents at?” The girl glared at Seija, sighing. “No idea, they said they were going out for a bit….” Seija muttered.
Those were her last words, wondering where my parents were. I want to go back and tell her not to go… “Well, if you ain’t looking! I’m going!” She shot up, picking up her magic tone and storming out, the slamming of the door made Seija tilt her head, seeing the rain patter down. Silence remained for at least a minute. All changed when the fallimar tone of magic sounded, Seija shot up, running to the door and she saw the most horrific sight. A multitude of arrows laid buried in her abdomen, she began falling back. “YOU BASTARD!” Seija screamed, running over to her friend.
ENOUGH!! Seija felt her face, she was in absolute tears.

Collab between Dankiri, Nick, and I.
The first thing Reisen, Mokou, and Okuu saw was the great gates to the Scarlet Devil Mansion, which seemed to stand out ominously against the dark, red sky. It had been a longer trip than Reisen expected, and the whole party could probably use a little break. Reisen was about to suggest a short stop before approaching the mansion, when she noticed who was standing in front of the gates already: Reimu Hakurei and, more importantly, Yuyuko Saigyouji. Reisen thought for a moment, then pulled Mokou over to the side and told her:
“Hey, Mokou, it’s time for you to go”. Mokou raised an eyebrow, looked over Reisen’s shoulder at the gates, then nodded to the rabbit.
“Ah, yeah, I’ll be off now. I do have some personal stuff to attend to…” Then, without alerting the two figures at the gate, Mokou ran off into the nearby forest.
Straightening up, Reisen then called out, yelling towards the gate “Ah, uh, hello”?
Utsuho looked curiously at Reimu and Yuyuko. "Hey, it's that red-white shrine maiden," she piped. "I wonder what she and that ghost princess are doing here..."
"Why, are we even trying to be civil about this?! You do know the mist is dangerous, don't you?! You've been trying to talk her out of this for ages now, it's my turn to do things my way! I'm going to beat her up!" The miko angrily summoned a spell card.
Reimu smiled sweetly. "We're trying to politely negociate our way inside the Scarlet Devil Mansion with Miss Gatekeeper over here, because we're really civil people."
The gatekeeper crossed her arms. "And I keep telling you that no one is allowed inside and that I will stop whoever trys to---"
"Divine Arts [Sky-Conquering Wind God Kick]! " Reimu's eyes glinted dangerously as she kicked Meiling in the gut full force without a second of warning, sending her crashing down, along with the gate. "Woah, ahaha, my apologies! I don't know what happened!"
The miko stepped inside the now broken gate, still smiling. "I'm sorry for intruding~!"
'What is with these people and knocking down gates' Reisen thought, making short eye contact with Yuyuko, then looking back to Reimu.
Yuyuko looked back at Reisen for a split second. "Something tells me that that Lunarian's up to something...but what? I'll have to keep an eye on her. But for now..."
She glanced back at Reimu and narrowed her eyes, the shrine maiden's arrogance beginning to annoy her. Causing conflict like this would only make things worse.
Staggering up and rubbing her gut, Meiling glared at Reimu. "You're as crude as ever, red-white. But I'm only doing my job. So I suggest you leave before you piss me off even more than you have now."
"And I'm doing mine." Reimu glared at Meiling, her voice serious. "You morons have no idea of the consequences this mist may and problably has brought. And you'll all be held accountable for that. Now, this is the last time I'll say it, back-off or I won't hold back."
Reisen began to speak, closed her mouth and waited for the familiar sound of Reimu’s magic to die down, then told Yuyuko hurriedly: “Yuyuko, Eirin and I need your help. The Ripper has been pretty busy lately, and it’s gotten to a point where we can’t stop it on our own.”
Reisen gave Yuyuko a short moment to understand the statement, then continued “You might not want anything to do with this, but the people in danger are rather relevant to your interests. Well, one at least.”
Yuyuko's heart began to plummet. "Don't tell me..." she whispered, bringing her hand to her mouth, knowing exactly who Reisen was referring to. "Not my Youmu..."
Reisen, a little impressed at how fast Yuyuko leapt to that conclusion, confirmed her guess.
"Ah, yes, unfortunately. Mokou is defending her right now, and I went out for help. The situation is a little dire, so could you hurry and follow me?"
The ghost nodded earnestly. "Take me to wherever we need to go," she requested urgently, almost demandingly. "Now."
"Of course, as I said, follow me. I'll fill you in with the details on the way." Reisen turned around, and shot forward in the direction of a firey light show deeper into the surround trees.

BOOM!
The gate exploded. “My, the battle has already started? That was fast, I just debriefed everyone a few minutes ago.” said the Scarlet Devil cheerfully, a cup of fine tea at her mouth. “… But, I’m bored. Really bored. ‘But the final boss cannot appear first’, said Sakuya. What’s wrong with just attacking them together? Well, I know what’s wrong, but still…” Remilia started talking to herself, her feet rocking back and forth under her chair like a child waiting eagerly for a carnival ride. “I guess I’ll go through the plan again...”
<A few hours earlier>
“So, what do you think, Sakuya?” queried Remilia, looking across the table at her best lieutenant. “It isn’t a bad plan. I do have a few burning questions and issues I can spot, but the biggest of them is the reason as to why Meiling needs to be defeated at the beginning?” “Defeated? Her mission is just to let the gate be destroyed so it serves as a smokescreen for Koakuma’s forces, in case their kappa camouflage paint acts up.” “My apologies that was an assumption I made.” “It’s an understandable misunderstanding.” Replied Remilia casually, taking another sip of her beloved tea. “Yes, but now that I do understand, there is another hole in this plan we will need to address. Milady, surely you are aware that Meiling holds a grudge against the shrine maiden since her warrior’s pride pushes her to rechallenge an opponent that has bested her in the past? I am not sure if she will survive the attack, even if Koakuma is there to restore her.” “We’re counting on her alertness…Or so I would like to say. Permit Koakuma to take the cheap elixir we got from Eientei last week.” “It wasn’t cheap… Understood. The most powerful healing potion on sale from Eientei, would most definitely restore Meiling, regardless of how damaged she ends up.” Said Sakuya wryly. “Ah, one thing we also need to do is convince Koakuma to join our cause. I suppose I can leave the negotiation to you.” Remilia looked up with a mischievous light dancing in her eyes. “What do you have up your sleeve this time?” “The ‘goods’ I purchased from the Tengu would prove most useful in our…Persuasion.” Sakuya chuckled a little as she replied “Blackmail? That wouldn’t be good. The last time I tried that she threw a tantrum, and the books she lent me the following day bit my hands when I tried to open them” murmured Remilia, rubbing her hands as she remembered the shock of being bitten by an inanimate object. “Don’t worry. It’s useful to have one or two trumps card against each person you associate with on a regular basis” Sakuya smiled a little, “I will be offering her unique content of our magician as an incentive assist us.” “Bribery~ though I’m surprised you would choose that method, those pictures were not cheap. Aya literally risked her life taking those.” “I’m more surprised your sense of economics returned... I trust that you have a method to convince Miss Patchouli to set up the barrier for us… Her only two weaknesses to my knowledge is books, and yourself, milady.” “I have an arrangement with her. Although she just slammed her door in my face when I asked her to leave the library and fight. But I’m sure she’ll at least set up the barriers for us.” “That is very like her, yes. I’m more surprised you tried to get her to leave the library, however.” Sakuya laughed a little at the exchange proceeding in her mind as she heard this. “Don’t laugh! I got a nosebleed afterwards, I didn’t think she would slam the door that hard… In any case! What were the other burning questions you had about my plan?” “The defences are a little thin here…and here…” Sakuya picks up a quill and jotted down a few corrections on the map. “The formation of each squad needs to be specialised for the job. This army here needs to be spread, since it is a ranged unit. This one should be in a triangular formation to optimise its mobility and formation penetration ability…That should be it for the specific units.” Sakuya looked up at Remilia to gauge her mistress’s reaction. Remi’s face was red. “Milady, your positioning of the armies is admirable. I couldn’t do better myself.” “O-of course. Well, what about other problems?” “I am wondering how you are going to make sure they reach the front of the mansion quickly, since the dust from the gate explosion would not cover Koakuma’s unit for long enough to retrieve Meiling and return to hiding.” “Oh. That’s a good point…” Remilia put a hand on her mouth in deep thought. “Perhaps we can call in a favour from the Tengu to form a wind barrier to forcibly blow them in?” “Alerting them to the possibility that we were ready and have made traps would render Meiling’s initial defeat meaningless. Moreover, one of our opponents could be Sanae, the wind goddess. Using winds against her would result in damages on our side, and a hefty damage compensation to the Mountain Tengu.” “…Then what about using laser book turrets from Patchouli’s library? They will force our enemies to stream the wave, and retreat.” “That could work, but it isn’t optimal since they could restream and destroy the books. It would again, alert them to the possibility of traps, again, rending Meiling’s defeat meaningless.” “Uuuuu…You come up with an idea then!” sulked Remilia, blushing angrily. “Ah, my apologies, milady.” Followed Sakuya quickly. “Hm. We can cause a distraction, such as a… Battle alert flare on the roof of the mansion. That would draw their attention to the mansion, and thus away from Koakuma’s unit, while they retrieve Meiling. A battle flare, with a loud sound would also give no indication as to the presence of traps. It would only provide them with the knowledge that we also know we are under attack. However, the gate explosion would have notified us of this regardless. By doing this, they may also wish to hurry themselves to the mansion door to avoid any fairy reinforcements drawn in by the flare.” Explained Sakuya. “I see. That is a good strategy. Well, surely that is the end to the holes in my plan?” “Last, but not least. You may not step on the battlefield Milady” “Oh. I knew you would bring that up.” “If you knew it then don’t include that on the plan in bold letters! Remember, the final boss should not appear first. Not to mention their only target is you!” “Yeah yeah, I get it stop lecturing me. I’ll stay here.” Remilia pouted. “So, that’s it, right?” “I believe so. Allow me to summarise. To my knowledge, the plan is as follows: Judging my Reimu’s straightforward personality, she will attack from the mansion gate. In case this does not work, if they had a sly member in their party, we will also enforce an anti-air barrier above the mansion walls. Therefore the enemy will engage Meiling at the gate of the mansion. She will inevitably lose and would either be blown through the gate. A flare will be detonated, and along with the debris from the gate explosion, will allow a cover for Koakuma’s unit to retrieve what is left of Meiling for healing. With the flare lit, the enemy party should move towards the mansion door. Once they are within range, I will engage the enemy, with ranged support from my maid fairies. I will arrange for bullet patterns that are sure to miss only me. While I am buying time with the 1st battalion, Koakuma will restore Meiling in under 30 seconds, either through her healing magic, or with Eirin’s medicine. Once Meiling is healed, she will lead the 2nd battalion to split the enemy forces in two. Before Meiling’s forces come in I will detonate the explosives inside the fountain which will cause a smokescreen, with water, which should inhibit the enemy’s senses. Hopefully I will be able to get them in range of the explosion and damage them, although this is not imperative. In this water/smoke screen, Meiling’s forces will divide the enemy forces in two. I will push one portion towards the eastern wall, and Meiling will take her’s to the west. There we will meet with fairy reinforcements and engage the enemy.” Sakuya recited, and took a deep breath. “According to this information, I will set up traps in the western side. Meiling and the other fairies would not be able to memorise where I placed the traps, so they will compensate the lack of surprise, with extra forces, including the southern Koakuma unit. If they defeat us, then there is you with the remainder of the fairy troops waiting inside the mansion.” “Exactly! Though one last thing, Sakuya… Do you think we will win?” “I believe not for any attack force larger than 5 battle capable people*.” Sakuya followed instantly. “Why not?” “Without the legendary Scarlet Devil’s skill as a field commander, Patchouli’s magic and troops more capable than fairies, we are lacking what made our old skirmishes in France so successful. Thus, we can only resort to my petty tricks to defend the mansion. It’s more than just a step down.” “I see. Then entertain me, Sakuya.” “I will.” Remilia's map:*"Battle capable" in Sakuya terms is anyone who can match Meiling in any way (including ranged combat).

I did this collab with Relick and ZM, my colour will be blue, Relick's will be red and ZM's will be purple.
The barman spoke colloquially, but he did not mince his words. The Youkai Mountain was a dangerous place. With the red mist hanging above, it remained dark and while the kappa stayed in the waters and in their homes, the tengu freely roamed about. Elly and Kurumi had to keep to the shadows, if they were to make it up the mountain without unnecessary trouble.
About halfway up the mountain, the shrubbery they had been using for cover became sparse. Avoiding being sighted by the tengu patrols was sure to be difficult, without planning each movement. Appearing above the horizon that the rockface formed, was the shrine they were heading for. Elly pointed to a bush some distance away from their current position, and whispered at Kurumi, "On my mark, we dash to that bush."
"Understood Elly, I can imagine we really need to do our best to hold cover at this point." Kurumi thought to herself that it's not a good thing that they had no good cover anymore, what if there was no place to hide anymore once they get farther up? And more importantly, will the shrine they'll go to be a safe place? As much as Kurumi wanted to think about these things she had no other choice but to wait for Elly to give her mark.
Elly signalled, and the two moved to the bush, getting closer to the shrine. A trio of tengu flew overhead, and for a split second Elly could see the determined looks on their faces. "I wonder what's gotten them so worked up..." She signalled again, making sure the coast was clear, and moved to the next bush. One more, and they'd be close enough to go straight into the shrine. Elly suddenly had a thought, that whoever is inside the shrine might in fact be worse than the tengu, and panicked. She wasn't used to this much stress, especially after being alone for so long, and as a result began to hyperventilate.
"E-elly? Why are you hyperventilating? Is everything fine..? Are you possibly fearing the worst again..?" Kurumi sighed as she saw Elly hyperventilating, she had no other choice but to open her bag and give it to Elly so she can inhale and exhale in it.
"Make sure to inhale calmly; exhale calmy.." Kurumi said as Elly was doing her best to calm down a little.
Kurumi thought to herself that it might actually be for the best to not ask what that was about.
"Wazzat? Who iz there?!?" a voice slurred loudly from inside the shrine. A loud burp was then heard, followed by a fit of laughter from the same voice. After that, the voice grew...somewhat serious once more. "Intrudahs beyon' this point aren'' welcome, y'know!"
"AHH!" Elly screamed out, unable to hold it in. "It's worse than I thought! Kurumi we gotta get out of here!" She grabbed her scythe and tried to start running, but the hyperventilation had made her lose her breath beforehand; causing her to trip straight over.
Suwako cackled as she stumbled outside, nearly falling down the steps. "Lookit you!" she shrieked, pointing at the fallen girl. "Tremba in fear! Suwakah Moriyah is here to git rid of ya!"
"I'm terribly sorry for my friend's behaviour; I feel deeply sorry. We've been setting out to get to the Moriya Shrine for a few questions and those matters, so can we please hold the fight down; converse on rational level?"
"Ah, I apologize if that might've sounded rude now that I gave my wordset a thought, but if anything, where are we?"
Kurumi did walk towards Elly and did put her hand on Elly's shoulder "It's probably alright Elly, get up please."
Suwako smirked and folded her arms. "Respectfa. I like that," she mused, burping once more. She covered her mouth and blushed, swaying a little. "Sorreh," she smiled sheepishly, beginning to feel tired. The alcohol was finally beginning to take its toll on the blonde frog goddess. "So...you wanna talk tah meh?"
Kurumi was kinda caught off-gaurd by the reaction.. She noticed that the young lady in front of her was seemingly drunk but that it was this bad? Atleast she was somewhat capable of conversing.
"Ah, yes I would gladly talk to you about an interesting object my friend here, Elly, has found a while ago. We would gladly get an explenation of what it could possibly be."
"O-oh, pardon me, my name is Kurumi and what's yours?"
Suwako cleared her throat, wanting to sound as important as she could. "Suwakah Moriyah," she introduced herself, bowing. "Pleashed tah make yer acquaint'nce, ladehs~"
Elly stood up as quick as she could, blushed and bowed, "H-hello, Miss Moriya! M-may we come in?" All this time working for one of the most powerful youkai known, and now she was getting scared of a Goddess. She mentally shook herself to try and regain her senses.
The goddess shrugged, turning around and heading into the shrine. "Yah better not be those Jehovah's Watchamacallits, or I'll whoop yer asses! But yah can com'in, I supp'se," she said indifferently, waving her hand and motioning for them to follow her.
Elly sheepishly made her way up the steps and into the shrine, trying her hardest not to trip again. "T-thank you, Miss Moriya."
Kurumi was walking next to Elly and felt like exhaling a breath of exhaust, Elly usually wasn't really good at holding her camlth; charisma once she was thinking because it would usually end up in her thinking the worst.
She still had to admire how much Elly did her best, that is a given.
"Thank you for inviting us in miss Suwakah, we'll make sure to be good guests."
"Dun mension it. ...Why'd ya say ya needed to see meh, anyway?" Suwako asked, sitting in front of the tatami.
Elly held out the wooden snake she had found earlier. It was fairly grubby, the dirt likely picked up from her clambering around in the bushes. "I found this... somewhere, and on the bottom, amongst others, was your magical sigil. It feels like it can be opened, and there is something inside, but I can't figure it out. Have you ever seen it before?"
The goddess peered at it. "It do's indeed seem familia'..." she whispered, scratching her hair from under her hat. "Maybeh the hag can give ya mor' of an answ'r, tho...I'm not exactleh in mah prime form~"
"The... hag?" Elly was embarassed slightly, having to use such a vulgar term.
"Kanako Yasaka," Suwako explained. "Tho as of now she's bushy with sum business at the Myour'n temple with Hijiri."
Kurumi was a little shocked that such immature language was used in front of her, but knowing that Suwakah was drunk it didn't matter too much.
"Could we perhaps by any chance speak to Kanako?"
"By all meansh! Go talk to 'er. And tell 'er that gud 'ol Suwakah sent ya!"
"Certainly, thank you. May I ask how we can get to miss Kanako?"
Somewhat annoyed, Elly accepted they weren't going to get any more information out of her in this state. On the other hand, going to the Myouren temple would take more than a day of travel, and they'd already made the effort to come this far up the mountain. "Sorry for being so intrusive, but are we able to stay the night here?"
"Tho as of now she's bushy with sum business at the Myour'n temple with Hijiri."
"It'd take ya a while to get ther'...I recomme'd ya spend the night o'er here. And who knows? Perhaps the hag will com' back soon'r than I expect'd," Suwako told the two, yawning. "Sleepeh..."
Kurumi was kinda wondering if staying here for the night is a smart idea smart, Suwakah was clearly drunk; she was wondering if Elly and her own presence had been felt by the tengu on the mountains, nevertheless she felt like this was up to Elly to decide.
Suwako got up slowly and reached for a nearby comforter, throwing the heavy blanket at Elly and Kurumi. "Make yerselves comfy," she told them, taking her hat off and setting it on the ground, soon laying down and resting her head in it. "If ya need anythin', just ask. If I dun' bite ya...haha...zzzz..."
It didn't take long for the goddess to drift off to sleep after that, the alcohol influence finally ceasing.

The return of Alice. Warning: Unnecessarily long and wordy.
Keine is still alive. Someone just doesn't know.
Treading alongside her through that door of primitiveness was that little golden memory. Behind the closed door, the world dimly lit quietly stood, as if its own night spreading far ahead. From the other side of the hallway, reflecting upon her irises that soon turned blurry- a bright light shining as if the sun of its own, so small, yet so wide world. ~Lu Li La, Lu Li La The sound of the keyboard was taking off, leaving a cold trail that remained in a sad string instrument, as if under her footsteps, the notes were ringing. "How loud..."And her voice that was supposed to be buried under layers of notes following no order, flowed down like a crimson stream. For the first time, which probably could well become the last time they met, the small, pointy chin of that little brown one gleefully steered at her, her voice rose as her notes that carried such an illusion went down like a waterfall. "Oh, you think this is loud? I am sorry, we haven't been able to drown out the barks of humans."~Do I hear the birds singing?
~No, it is the cry of the forest. Dibble, dibble, dopp dopp. "A magician accompanied by dolls!".Raindrops threw themselves about, somewhere behind those little layers of dust. The doll-like one whose hair resembled celestial clouds, exclaimed with a smile pasted with sunshine. On her hands that clasped together there held a golden musical weapon, unbeknownst to guests where the glistening shine was from, the touches of human hands or the touches of merciless time. "A magician accompanied by rain~"That little chocolate bar wrapped in red papers leapt forwards, almost reaching her in the process. "Magician coming here because sister Merlin forgot to lock the door.""Magician coming here because sister Lunasa forgot to put on the protection circle!'
"We never had anything like that, Merlin."One step back, two steps back, her back that touched the grand piano glistening without a single stain felt as if immobilized. Half ignoring her appearance there, the creatures that were no longer alive, they giggled, they talked, they danced, like little squeaky notes flopping on the keyboards. And yet, somewhere in the corner of their gazes that crossed the gaze of her eyes' corners, there were still some unspoken sounds. "Please forgive my intrusion. Allow me to introduce myself. I am the puppeteer of the Forest, Alice Margatroid.", and her voice, for the first time in a long, long while, took off on its own wings. The hands of the golden one that rested on her sisters' shoulders tightened their grips. Behind the smiles that half faded, their worlds that were separated by more than distance, seemed to fuse. And yet, that only quiet one finally raised her voice. "Welcome to our humble Prismriver mansion, lady magician. We are honored that you decided to see our miniature performance right in our dwelling.""It was all my pleasure as well, young misses of the Prismrivers."Chipping in was those little birds, singing as if never seeing tomorrow again. "We have long seen a magician. It was beautiful, such magecraft."And breaking from her sister's grip, that little chocolate bar again crept up to her, quietly spreading her legs in a circular, random walk. "Magician shining three hundreds fifty percent brighter than shrine maidens."Magician, magician. In contrast of such innocence, there lay a gentle, kind fear. Clasping her hands behind her back, as if holding a tiny secret, she found herself stealing glances, from this candy to that one's face gleaming with sheer joy. In front of her and behind her, her conversational partners that up to now, never once looked her into the eyes, kept skipping on their feet, circling around her and that quiet piano. And she found her voice dropping vehemently, in pitch and in speed, as if someone was stomping on the pedal of her piano angrily, with a rain of grief. Disconnected notes flying, glistening red and yellow. "Ah, poltergeists, poltergeists."
"Miss shiny magician~".
~Is that the light of the moon shining? "If we have all known about this."
~No, that’s the burning fire
In our eyes that ignored the light of days, we were all in pursuit of the same reality. "Poltergeists, assuming that, that power within the creature is familiar."
"To you or to us?"The little one again sparked, with eyes so innocent it's almost painful to watch, such purity drenched deep in plans and thoughts. Carefully, carefully she leant back on the piano, that grand piano silently embracing her, as if leaning against her deep with in loneliness. "...So quick to assume it's either me or you."Through her remaining sight that flashed crimson, she finally saw that one's eyes, tenderly watching from behind her fluffy little ice cream of a sister's shoulders, staring straight into hers. "Do you believe this ripper..."Soundless voice of the piano dreaming further ahead. "...may sing?"
Their footsteps formed a certain beat, sometimes cheerfully skipping, sometimes taking off like a high forte, fluttering alongside the quiet torch, like a miniature sun in this miniature golden heaven, in the hands of miniature valkyries picking up the one who was gone. The sound of her steps with theirs, missed on their subtle beats and frequency, as if there was someone lagging behind in this ephemeral chorus. "Miss magician, do you think there is... a bit too much chaos this time?"From the darkness unilluminated by the fire away from her sight, one of their voices demurely vibrating, transcended the barrier of familiarity and strangeness. "...I thought you are not interested in this.""Aww, are you, then? Interested, like in a cute game."
"Lyrica."Cut short by the scolding of the one that was perhaps straining herself to uphold this image, the quiet giggle vanished instantly, yet their footsteps matching the beats of their souls went on, irritated. "I apologize on her behalf, miss magician.""It is fine. Now that I think about it, she is correct. 'Interest' was so cruel of a word... And yet, perhaps it was such word that brought about chaos."
"...Perhaps it would do well to cut down some so-called incident solvers of yours. Like, actually cut."
"Lyrica."Amidst those awkward moments, gently shuffled in some moments was that little ice cream's pacing, as if waiting for her. As if in explanation for her child sister, for a moment, the voice that rang out to her seemed to spin. "The winds carry nothing but the people's sorrow, miss magician. Do you know miss youkai, schoolteacher of the village?""The hakutaku."The one who tried hard, as hard as her heart desired, only to meet an untimely end. "...Mm, you know that. For those who are so, so weak, to see those who are there, are there to protect them no longer... How sorrowful must that have been."The frills of the skirt her hands were holding slightly flashed golden, like a certain someone's wings of freedom. The voice of the child that no longer spinned, was shaking in and of itself, as if belonged into a spring long past. "...If you are so very concerned for the humans' wellbeing, how come you are still holed up in your safe house, taking no action?"Such silence that lasted through countless footsteps, was not something she expected, even when asking the question that expected no answer. "For the humans to still be there, despite sufferings and chaos, and for the like of you who are still here playing notes of your own world, where do you think the bloodshed has all gone to?"Chaos, conquering those little flames waltzing next to the child, whose silence held tight the little flaring sun of their own world. Whispers of that little ice cream child to her sister, streamed through the air, barely audible to the one that trailed behind. The words descended further into a curve as their path extended further onwards. In the route dimly lit, hallway so narrow she could feel the wall breathing down her cheek, holding an otherworldly sense. "After all, wars are not shiny, colorful danmaku."
To a sudden halt came the miniature sun. "Miss magician."Someone cleared her throat, quietly, painfully, breaking the silence their lack of an answer brought up. Under this ephemeral light that blessed her eyes as time came to a gentle rest, the children clutching close together, sorrowful fingers intertwining behind their back, as she easily imagined. "What do you think our music is for?"The depth of their eyes eventually turned to her, the depth that in reflection lay a stream of memories she was unaware of, silhouettes of everyone she might some day or never recognize, fluttering like cherry blossom of a transient day. "Is it for quiet banter, for celebration of peaceful days, for pained minds to reach out as an escape, for dreams that will never be remembered? Miss magician, what is music for you?"The songs that she and her golden someone used to share in seeming endless, endless night. Sounds that broke the silence, between her and the quiet one that glistened in cherry blossom color. "...For as long as I have known the sounds of this world, sounds are there to touch the heart of life.""Well spoken. Then, miss magician, what is life?"Their eyes that stared right through her were already telling a story. "Sounds as well as instruments can pass into fantasy. If they then disappear from Gensokyo as well, they become phantoms. For those whose music is life, like us, how does our view differ from yours?"Flashing in her sight, she saw the child's hands raising the torch, their quiet sun illuminating the primitive wall. Huge in the wall standing erect was portrait of an era soon past, another world different than the one she knew of. Children smiling, hands holding instruments, in their faces, sheer joy was the brightest resemblance. What was she seeing, why was she here, watching this, where has her time gone? In that world, the sky glistened, golden, white blue, light brown-- "Green..!?"And the voice that replied back to her, was almost smiling. ~While in tears, it seems like we have understood each other. "What do you think, miss magician? Aren't the humans-- isn't that one world... so beautiful, so colorful? Are our sounds also like that? Have our sounds matched that?-"Her dreams, her otherwordly dreams, were quietly bathed in light. Light that tasted metallic, that squirmed in intensity, in power, in brilliance, was distorting, was spinning, in golden color was the trumpet in the hands of the child! "This sound...!""Miss magician, please do not feel so down... Allow my child sister's sounds to reach you, in her search of new sounds.""Stop it...! This is not for...""For...? Is there anyway for you to tell us the answer?"The sun in their hands sharply fell to the ground where they stood. "Have our sounds reached life...?"
oOo
If music is for the living, and sounds are for those who are gone, where does that leave us sisters?

BGM: Magical Power of the Mallet (Piano version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQKo2O8z34c)
I can’t do anything right. I attempted to get one good friend. Seija tightly hugged her pillow, given to her by Satori. Her pillow received all of Seija’s tears. Everytime she closed her eyes, she felt the pain of being swallowed by dark emotions. I was supposed to be a happy-go-lucky amanojaku. Like whoever she touches, she makes the person wilt. She may be the flower youkai, but she’s the person wilter. She threw the pillow to the other side of the room, she wiped the final tears from her face.“Enough cryin’!” She spoke softly, looking at the corner, spotting the only source of food or drink. It was a tea set. She finally built up enough courage, she flung herself off the bed. She smashed onto the floor and began crawling her way to the door. There was two wooden crutches leaning against the wall, she began crawling towards them, dragging her legs across the floor. She was so close to the door and rotated her body around so that her legs were facing her bed. She began to lift herself upwards, her arms slotted into the crutches and she lifted her body up. Adapt to the pain. Pain is just the end of a former life. She made a hasty move towards the corridor, everywhere she looked, she saw stained glass windows. She leaned out, looking at the bleak city below. She saw a crowd formed outside of the tavern and she sighed. “I could of been down there, sending tables at people and running away like a madma- I’m sorry I mean woman.” Life gave me a bad hand. One moment I felt at the top of the world, unable to be touched by anyone. If I hadn’t fell asleep, those hunter would of never found me. If I didn’t fall asleep, I wouldn’t of met Yuuka. if I hadn’t of met Yuuka. My life wouldn’t be this. She continued dragging her feet across the floor as she moved with the crutches, she was looking for one room. All I need to do is avoid Satori. Before she knew it, Seija found herself in a closet, there was a large variety of clothing, quickly the one that caught her interest was a lime green skirt with wavy flowers at the bottom. She smiled, knowing what she was about to do. Throw away the mistake. Become forgotten and be accepted by the new world. She shut the door behind her… From this day onwards, Seija Kijin is no more. I’m sorry for not living up to your expectations. Mother, father… Make sure you reserve my former self the deepest part of hell.

Collab with Aki-nii.
The Scarlet Devil Mansion loomed over the horizon, the green-haired shrine maiden making her way there quickly. Well...the backyard, so to speak. Sanae didn't particularly mind where she would enter, though. After all, she thought, sneaking in stealthily would be an interesting experience!
Once she approached the mansion, she noticed a barrier of some sort surrounding the entire building. "Hmm..." she hummed, setting her hand against it. "Thankfully I have this on me."
Fishing through her skirt pocket, she took out a spellcard. Waving around her gohei some, she pointed it at the barrier and declared her spell.
"[Esoterica "Nine Syllable Stabs"]!"
Nine columns of blue-white lasers then appeared around Sanae before interacting with the section of the barrier she pointed at, canceling it out and leaving an opening for the miko to enter. Smiling, she quickly made her way through and ended the spellcard, the barrier area she snuck through soon reappearing.
Making her way to an open window, she looked around nervously before quietly flying inside.
Once inside, Sanae looked around the hallway. Thankfully, no one was currently around.
Perfect.
She quickly made her way down the hall, though as quietly as she could. The last thing she wanted to do was alert a fairy maid. Or worse: Sakuya Izayoi herself. She just wanted to meet Remilia Scarlet as soon as she could.
An opening soon appeared in the hallway, and Sanae peeked inside the room slowly and hesitantly.
"Ahhh boredddd. That took way too little time. The plan was too short, its all your fault Sakuyaaaaa. If it was going to be this boring, I'd just have gone out and fought. Sakuyaaaaa, do somethingggg. Oh. She's fighting. I'M JEALOUS. Haa..." mumbled Remilia, drawing circles with her finger on the table. The empty teacup was tilted to it's side beside her arm.
Sanae stiffled a giggle watching the vampire girl muse to herself. For someone capable of something so ominous, she was being quite cute. Not feeling as intimidated as she was before since entering the mansion, the girl decided to reveal herself.
Stepping into the room, she began to spoke. "Jealous? Why don't you fight yourself then?"
"Haa...That's a good idea, but Sakuya would scold me..." Remilia replied in the same tone she had before.
...
"...!" Remilia jolted upright. "Moriya's Miko? Tell me how could you possibly have gotten past Sakuya in such a short time!"
A eerie glowing purple energy started glowing from the center of Remilia's palm. The air grew tense, as if something otherworldly had entered the room.
"Uh oh," Sanae thought to herself, not wanting to anger the vampire. She held her hands up in defense. "I'm not here wanting trouble. And as for sneaking past the maid, I didn't see her on the way in here. I came in through the window."
'Window? So she broke the barrier instead of heading through the front door...I guess that isn't unexpected of her personality...Knowing Sakuya, this wasn't an oversight*: she probably didn't mind the kinds of people whimiscal enough to that. Which means...' (*It was)
With a sucking sound, the energy was gone, as fast as it appeared. Remilia repositioned herself on her throne, her legs crossed and her head propped up by her left arm. She looked proudly at Sanae, as if trying to compensate for having her musings heard earlier.
"I believe this is not just a casual visit, since you decided to trespass. Are you here for about the mist?"
Sanae nodded, crossing her arms and looking sternly at Remilia. "That's exactly why I'm here. What's the big idea with this red mist? There's quite a bit going on outside already without this creepy mist adding onto our problems."
"I have already been...advised** by Patchouli to take the mist down. But it will be a week before it clears up naturally. Though...I'm sure you can persuade us to take it down faster...?" said Remilia slowly, a little grin appearing on her face. (**She got scolded)
"I-I guess so," the shrine maiden replied. "I mean, if this persists, more victims could die...and I will absolutely not allow that."
She then took out a spellcard. "Even if I have to convince you with a bout of danmaku, I will!"
'Oh. That didn't turn out like I wanted it to. But a fight~!'
"Oho~ Bring it on!" yelled Remilia and shot up into the air, gungnir in hand. "Lets finish this in one move each! [Divine Spear "Spear the Gungnir"]!"
Sanae glared at the vampire and waved her gohei, a plethora of red and blue stars appearing behind her. "[Preparation "Summon Takeminakata"]!"
As the two girls released their attacks, the giant stars and the spear collided in midair, resulting in an explosion. The blast resulted in Sanae and Remilia flying back in opposite directions, the smoke caused from the collision settling in the room.
'T-the Gungnir got nullified...? She's good. I defintely have to get her on our side.'
"Y-you're good. What I meant was for you to give us, the Scarlet Devil Mansion, a hand in this fight, and we promise to clear the mist immediately...With a nice donation to Moriya Shrine. How does that sound, Moriya's Miko?" said Remilia painfully, and she tried pried herself free of the rubble that was the remanants of one of the walls in the main hall. The fairies cooking behind it fainted in shock.
Getting up slowly and dusting off dust from herself, Sanae closed an eye as she winced in pain. "Owie...well, that's a better suggestion than the two of us beating each other up, in all honesty...I'll do it. As long as you hold up your end of the bargain and don't pull any funny stuff, I'll do what you say, Miss Scarlet."
'Oh. She's such a good girl...Sakuya is definitely going to try to scout her if they meet.'
"You have my word," said Remilia cooly, as the fairies behind her are carried off on a stretcher.

Collab with Sir Shadiel the fairy again! Also, poking Proto because part of Shiki's dialogue was based on his last WriCom entry c:
Before the other two had time to react, Shinki continued. "The connection between souls is strong, if you kill the victim, there is a possibility that you can weaken the caster. Someone who shares no emotional links with Marisa will surely care little about her life, even if the chances are slim." ".... So anyone who knew about this would try and kill Marisa, just to weaken the ripper to defeat it...? B-but that's stupid! It wouldn't work! All the ripper has to do is absorb someone else's life energy!" Flandre's crimson eyes lighted with fury and small tears. "And besides! Who would do such a thing?! Marisa is well-loved around Gensokyo, right?! I don't think there's anyone who would kill her just like that!" Flandre lowered her head and wept. "I... I don't want her to be killed... Can we weaken the ripper without killing Marisa...?" "Killing Marisa would damage the Ripper's soul, not just the energy supply it may have. However..." She stretched the book towards Flandre. "You most definitely can kill it without killing anyone but the culprit. Marisa herself can fight its influence and weaken it or you can remove the sigil from her neck entirely. You won't be able to track the Ripper as effectively, but it will make it useless for people to target her. Regardless of what you chose, this book will help you with both." Shinki smiled. "You see, I don't want her to die either." The young vampire grabbed the book and looked at it. "I-I see... Well. Maybe we can find someone who can remove it... ... And why exactly don't you want her to die." "You certainly will." She smiled. "Well... She was one of the only two humans that dared to venture here. She caused a ruckus and even defeated me in a danmaku battle, she was so very young..." Shinki chuckled. "No wonder my little Alice took a liking to her as well. Marisa is a good girl, she can be belligerent but I see no malice in her heart. And Alice, she may not be vocal about it but she really values those around her. And I don't want my daughter to be sad." "I see..." Flandre lowered her head. "Uhm... Hope you don't mind me asking this but... Is it true that you kidna-- uuh... That Alice is not your biological daughter?" Shinki’s smile didn't leave her features, she closed her eyes. "Yes, that is true. My little Alice was a human before she turned into a magician. I couldn't be the one creating her, as human creation is something impossible to me." She answered. "I know what people say, that I kidnapped her, but I assure you that isn't true." Looking at the side, Shinki seemed lost in thought. "Years ago, Makai was still open to everyone who would want to enter it. As such, a lot of people migrated here and lot of unwanted things got thrown away into our lands through the barriers surrounding it as well… and a little baby was one of those unwanted things." There was a mix of anger and sadness on her countenance. "Such a lovely little babe, thrown away, abandoned by her parents, who could do such a despicable thing? We thought she was dead... but then she started bawling and bawling and... Ahaha, we were so surprised!" A fond, nostalgic smile formed on her lips. "Such a small being and yet she screamed and screamed. I feel in love with those beautiful, round blue eyes. You see... All the beings I created were according to my will, according to my plans, even if they have their own personalities they won't stray from what I created them to be. Not my little Alice however, not her. I couldn't calculate what she would react in a situation or what she would like or dislike, she was completely unreadable. She would grow up to be someone who would walk her own path... from start to finish. As her mother, I will always support her regardless of her choices.” The silver haired woman smiled at them, even though her eyes were filled with sad, unshed tears. “So, please, if you find her, be her friend. Support her there where I can't be." Flandre looked down to the floor, putting her hand on her chest. She quickly turned around in order to hide her sadness. "Well, we should probably go back to Gensokyo... Thank you, Ms.Shinki. And don't worry, we'll take good care of Alice." she said, smiling, before hurrying off outside. "Thank you." The woman said as she wiped the few tears trailing down her eyes. ‘Please, dear Alice, be safe.’Kasen followed Flandre. "To think that Alice had this story..." She looked over her shoulder to the room where Shinki was staying. "I'm glad she got to have Shinki as her mother." "I'm glad that at least she had a proper family at all..." Flandre said with a sad tone. Flandre sighed. "I guess you're right..." Something popped on the vampire's mind. "Uuh... How are we going to get back now? We don't have any way of contacting Yukari to take us back..." Kasen stopped on her tracks and went pale. "Ah..." She slapped her own face. "Agh, I knew I was forgetting something! Damn it!" She slid her hand over her face. 'What is wrong with me today?! Did that explosion affect my brain?! Gaaah!'"So... Does that mean... We're trapped here?" "No!" The hermit stood up, head held high. "Where there's a will, there's a way!" "We're in a land of demons, sealed away from Gensokyo and without any contact methods with anyone." Flandre crossed her arms. "If you have an idea, then I'm all ears." Kasen crossed her arms as well. "We ask the goddess of Makai for help, of course." She said with all the causality she could muster even though she knew that was a pretty obvious idea. Flandre shrugged. "If you wanna embarrass yourself..." she said, while turning around to head back. "What, do you have any non-embarrassing ideas with you? Because if you do, please, don't keep them to yourself." Kasen replied, brow twitching. "This place is sealed isn't it? Well, we find the seal, I break it, boom. Free." "Oh, great idea! Ignore all the demons that may invade Gensokyo if you break the seal. I bet those won't give us trouble at all." Flandre sighed again. "Sorry... This place is just getting on my nerves... Let's get out of here already." she said, heading back to the library. Kasen sighed as well. "Yeah... sorry about that too. Aaah... I need some sake and dango..." She followed Flandre.

Collab with Dani. This collab is the biggest ever, at 3140 words. :D
Shinki was closing the library door when she say the two girls slowly making her way back to her. "Is something the matter?" Flandre looked to a side, her face slightly red. "We... We don't know how to get back to Gensokyo." Kasen looked at Shinki, clearly embarrassed. "We asked Yukari for help and she opened a gap for us to enter Makai... and we didn't really think it through because now we can't talk to her and get back home." The woman chuckled lightly. "It's quite alright." She opened her palm and with her other had she drew a magical sigil. It glowed purple before a ring formed on her open hand. "Take this with you, approach the door and say the words written on ring, it will let you cross the barrier without any trouble. The one with the ring has to hold the other one in order for both to pass, otherwise only the one physically touching the ring will be immune to the barrier." Flandre grabbed the ring and looked at it. She nodded while giving it to Kasen. "Thanks, once again!" she said before running off at high speeds. Kasen bowed. "Thank you for all your help." "Not at all, have a safe trip." She waved them off as Kasen followed the vampire girl. The young vampire landed near the gate of Makai, while looking behind her. Since she had went out of Pandemonium, and she flew as fast as she could, the hermit had a little trouble catching up with her, it seemed. She put her hands around her mouth and shouted at the hermit. "Heeey! Hurry up already! I wanna get back to Gensokyo!" Kasen sighed. Just like she thought, that vampire had to be hyperactive. Reaching the girl after a couple of minutes, she said. "Sorry, but flying isn't one of my strengths..." and then looked at Flandre. "Are you always like this or was it because of our collective embarrrassment?" Flandre scratched the back of her head. "Well, uh... ... Mostly the embarrassment, yeah..." she shook her head and returned to hurrying Kasen up. "But anyway! Just hurry up and open the door already!" "Yeah, yeah, I get it already..." She grabbed the ring and read the words in it. It didn't sound like any known language, but it seemed to have worked as it opened a tiny gap on the barrier covering the gate. Kasen grabbed Flandre's hand and stepped through it, ending up in a forest she couldn't really identify. The young vampire looked around the area, floating slightly above the ground. "Uh... Are we really back in Gensokyo...?" she advanced a little, between the trees. Kasen looked up, a look of utter disbelief on her face. "Yeah... we are." She pointed at the scarlet mist on the sky. The young scarlet sister raised her head, and her eyes widened upon seeing the mist. "That's the result of my sister's..." she lowered her head. "Tsk... As if Gensokyo didn't have enough problems as is already..." "Is your sister..." The hermit started slowly. "Ok? I mean... in the head?" "I doubt it, seeing what she is doing now. But anyway, it's of no concern to us. She'll get her ass handed to her anyway." 'And the mist actually helps me too, so...' the vampire looked at the book she took from Shinki. "Shinki said that this book would help us with the whole Marisa problem... I wonder what does it have...?" she opened the book. Curiously, Kasen looked at the book as well. All the pages seemed to be in blank, no matter how many pages Flandre turned. The hermit chuckled, seemingly unsurprised by the fact. "Uh... Uh..." Flandre stuterred as she turned the empty pages frenetically. "Is this some kind of joke...?! It's empty!" "For us, maybe." The hermit crossed her arms. "For a magician it most likely isn't. They tend to codify or protect important grimoires with magic. Sometimes they will seem empty, others it will seem like the information contained is written in gibberish, effectively driving the non-magicians away from them." "So, basically... We won't anything out of this book unless we bring it to a magician...?" Flandre rubbed her chin. "Well, the only other magician I know besides Marisa is Patchy, and I don't want to get near the mansion... ... Wait! I know! I met this girl, named Ellen... She said she was a witch... Maybe if we bring the book to her she'll be able to read it" "I think she's our only option, then." She looked at the mist again. "I don't think your mansion will be a safe place for the time being either." "Yeah.. It should be better to leave the mansion alone for now. If past events are of any indication, the red-white will show up and kick my sister in the face, so..." Flandre took flight. "Ellen was in the Forest of Magic, want me to carry you there?" Kasen made a movement with her hand and both her dapeng and her tiger cub popped out of it. "Nah, I'll follow you." She cheerfully petted both of them. "Sorry to leave you waiting, guys." Flandre blinked a few times. 'How does she even do that...?' she looked at the cub for a few seconds and nodded. She raised a little, above from the trees, and flew in the direction of the Forest of Magic as fast as she could. "Do you even know where we are?" Kasen looked unconvincedly at Flandre. "We should probably locate where we're standing before starting to fly aimlessly..." The young vampire quickly stopped and scratched the back of her head. "Yeah... Sorry." she looked around the area, trying to find any sort of landmark that could tell them where they were. "There. It's hard to see through all the mist, but we're near the Youkai Mountain." The hermit said as she squinted her eyes. "We should go that way." She pointed on the opposite direction Flandre was going. Flan lowered her head in shame before heading in that direction at the same speed as before. The pink haired woman looked at Flandre. "I'm curious, you did mention that Reimu and Marisa invaded your mansion before but... You never did explain how you get to be this close to Marisa." She looked forward. "You seem very worried about her." Flandre sighed. "After Reimu and Marisa, solved that incident and I got away from my room... My sister let me wander around the mansion since the seals didn't really work anymore. One day, I heard from Patchy something about a 'rat', so I decided to help out. I thought my sister would be happy if I got rid of it. So the thing is, I was waiting on the library for the rat to appear and... Well. I never thought that the rat would've been Marisa. We fought a little, I lost and she took away some books. After that I got scolded by my sister for causing havoc in the library." Flandre sighed. "The thing is, after that, everytime Marisa would come to the mansion, we would play a game of Cat & Mouse. She was the mouse, and I was the cat. ... Well. Most of the times. Once we two were the mice." the young vampire giggled at the thought of helping Marisa 'borrow' some books from Voile. "... Marisa is one of the few people who I can remember that hasn't treated me as a monster or something to be feared. ... She's also the first friend that I haven't killed in one of my 'breakdowns'... That's pretty much why I don't want anything to happen to her." Kasen stared at her for a few second and then started laughing. "That is so like her!" 'She has zero sense of danger or self-preservation.' The hermit remembered that time Marisa had gotten attacked by one of her tigers. --- The vampire landed near a large wooden house. It looked like it had really been taken good care of, due to how well-constructed it looked. The windows were closed. There was a small little doghouse made of wood, sitting near the entrance. It had a sign on it that read 'Sokrates'. Another sign near the door read: 'Fuwafuwa Ellen's Magic Shop'Flandre looked at the house. "Ellen gave me directions to her house before I left, in case I needed her services sometime... I guess this must be it." "'Fuwafuwa Ellen's Magic Shop'..." Kasen could fee sweat forming over her brows. Where all magicians weirdos? "What does she sell, stuffed animals?" Flandre shrugged. "I doubt it. When I met her she said she worked with love potions or something like that. All I know is that she has a cat named 'Sokrates', really." "Ah, I see..." She looked at the house, absent-mindedly and then quickly turned her head at Flandre. "Wait, she has a cat?" "Yeah, a white, somewhat fat cat. What about it?" "Ah, nothing." The hermit looked pretty excited now. "I like meeting new animals!" "Oh right, I forgot... You love cats..." Flandre sighed and got close to the door. As soon as she was going to knock on it, the door opened a blonde woman, wearing white gloves, a blue dress and a big hat appeared behind it. The woman had some sort of ghostly aura around her. The woman's blue eyes glanced at both the hermit and the vampire. "Huh? More of Ellen's clients? She sure has been busy lately..." "Uh... Yeah." the young vampire nodded. "We wanted to see her because we had something to ask her... Is she home?" The woman covered her face with her hat. "Yeah. She's inside. Go ahead, she's not busy at the moment. If you'll excuse me." the poltergeist walked past the two of them. 'I knew Ellen had a lesbian couple pending but damm... Those are some weird girls...'Flandre looked back at the woman for a second, before entering the house. Kasen raised her brows as she looked at the woman passing by. 'Why do I get the feeling I just got a judging look?'The interior of the house was slightly iluminated by small, floating, light balls. A big black, empty cauldron stood in the center. Several grimoires and bottles with liquids and strange objects inside them were piled on the shelves nearby. Wooden stairs at the other side of the room led to the 2nd floor. A blonde girl was reading a small grimoire, lying down on what looked like a small wooden couch. A white cat rested on the girl's lap, sleeping. It seemed that neither of two noticed the hermit and the vampire's presence. "It's so fat and cute!" Kasen whispered next to Flandre. "I want to pet it!" "Can we just concentrate on what we came here to do...?" the young scarlet sister got near the blonde girl. "Uh... Ellen?" The forgetful witch tilted her head to look at Flandre. She smiled, closed the grimoire, put her cat on the floor and jumped out of the couch. "Oh hey, if it isn't Pudding! What brings you here?" Flandre's left eye twitched a little upon hearing her 'name'. Kasen crouched down near the cat. "'Pudding?'" She started petting it. "Aaah! Now I get it!" And she started laughing. "You sound tasty." Sokrates growled a little and ran off to Ellen's side. Flandre's face was turning slightly red. "S-shut up..." Ellen rubbed her chin. "Wait... Your name wasn't pudding, was it...? Oh. Yeah. Sorry Flan. My memory isn't what it used to be. Anyway, what brings you here...?" she looked at Kasen. "... Wait... Don't tell me that you two are...?" "Aah... I got rejected..." The hermit looked heartbroken as her arm was left hanging in the air, her eyes shifted at Ellen. "Are what?" "Well... You see... I was waiting for a lesbian couple in order to help them bear a child through magic... Could it be that you two...?" "What?! No, no! We're just frien--- wait, is that actually possible?!" Kasen put her hand on her chin, suddenly looking all serious. "I've read nothing about that. How does that work? Spiritual energy?" Ellen scratched the back of her head. "It's a complicated spell, and... well... Believe me, it's not pretty... And probably not what you're thinking about either..." she shook her head. "A-Anyway! If you're not the couple, then why did you come here?" "Ah, we were wondering if you could help us with a grimoire." The hermit made a motion with her head towards the book Flandre was holding. "It seems like it has somekind of anti-non-magician spell protecting it so all pages look blank to us. But we really need that in order to help a friend." Flandre tended the book to Ellen. "Ah, I see..." the witch said, taking the book and opening it while drawing a small magic sigil on the air with her finger. "Well, this should be enough, let's see..." she began to read the grimoire. Ellen closed the grimoire. She closed her eyes, her smile fading away. "First of all, where did you get this? Second, I need to know more details about what exactly are you going to do with this." she sighed. "The ritual on this book isn't an easy one, you know." Kasen crossed her arms. "Answer to the first question: Makai, as for the second..." She looked at Flandre and then looked back at Ellen. "We want to help a friend of ours. An unknown creature had been attacking people all around Gensokyo, humans, youkai, everyone. Our friend got attacked and she was left with a sigil on her neck. Ritual or techniques she can use to counter it, we want to know them all, everything that can help us helping her." "Oh, so this is about the Night Terror Incident..." Ellen crossed her arms. "Well, if I understood this correctly, the sigil is slowing draining away the victim's life energy and..." the witch began to explain about the link between caster and victim, and how severing the link would perjudice the caster. "Now, regarding how to counter it... Magic suppresors should stop or diminish the effect for some time, although it depends on how strong the magic is and for how long the victim has been affected. If this friend of yours knows healing magic, she could recover her own life energy and extend her lifetime. The sigil also reacts to being near to the caster, accelerating the process, so she should stay away from it. However..." Ellen lowered her head. "The best options are either defeating the caster or forcefully removing the sigil. Both would sever the link, and this grimoire explains how to do the latter... However..." "However...?" Kasen prompted her to carry on. Ellen raised her head and opened her eyes. "I'm not gonna lie, the ritual is complicated, and you're going to need an expert magician for it. I have the ingredients, luckily... Well most of them, but the last one needs to be provided by the victim or the caster. I feel I could do the ritual myself, but..." Ellen sighed. "With this ritual I'd be directly accessing your friend's life energy. If I screw up just a little, she might enter a coma, or, worst of all, die." Ellen looked at Kasen and Flandre. "Do you still want to go on?" The hermit crossed her arms once again, eyes cast down in thought. "Marisa is a magician... but I doubt she can use healing magic since her especialty is destruction magic... Shinki said there was a way Marisa herself could counter the Ripper's influence..." Kasen looked at the witch again. "She is a witch too, is there nothing in that grimoire about it?" The witch opened the grimoire and began to turn the pages, without saying a word. After a few minutes, Ellen crossed the grimoire once more. "The caster can exploit the link with the victim to make her do its bidding, but..." Ellen smiled. "So can the victim, in a minor way. If your friend is strong enough, she can probably try and hurt the caster spiritually, either by herself or by using the spells on the grimoire." Ellen shook her head slowly. "However, she would be vulnerable to attacks done on this plane, since she needs to concentrate on the spiritual one. If she does this she won't have an advantage, though. The caster can counterattack." "I see... As for the ritual, if we, hypothetically speaking, had the ingredient we need to get from the victim or the caster, we would still need Marisa to be present here in order to perform it, right?" The hermit asked, a pensive look ever present. Ellen simply nodded. "Telepathic rituals won't happen any time soon, sadly." "That settles it then." Kasen looked at Flandre. "Before we do anything, we have to ask Marisa about what she wants. This is not something we should be deciding on, besides, we would have to find her first, regardless of choice." Ellen crossed her arms. "Powerful magicians would probably be able to sense her magical energy and track your friend based on that... I can do it, but preparing the spell for it would take me days, and I doubt you have that much time." Flandre looked at Kasen. "... Wait. What about your animals? Won't they know...?" Kasen nodded negativelly. "No sign of her yet. I don't know where she is hidding, but she must be very well hidden, then again Gensokyo is huge, even if I send everyone on patrol..." Flandre sighed. "We'll just have to go search then..." Ellen grabbed Sokrates and put him on her own shoulder. "Can I go with you? This incident has gotten me somewhat intrigued, and if for some reason your friend's sigil worsens her condition... You're gonna need a magician to supress its effects." 'Besides, I'm sure that I heard the name 'Marisa' somewhere before...'The pink haired woman nodded negatively and then smiled. "The more the merrier. We'd be grateful if you accompanied us, all the magicians we can count on are either off limits or missing." She was going to turn around but stopped on her tracks. "Ah, my apologies, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Kasen Ibaraki." She extended the magician her hand. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Ellen stretched Kasen's hard. "I'm Ellen, and the little guy is Sokrates." she said pointing at her cat. Ellen ran over to a shelf and grabbed a few spellcards before returning to the entrance. "Now, whenever you're ready~"

Clasping at her hat with one hand, Marisa navigated the rainy and windy sky. A snow storm was coming, she could feel it and she didn’t like those prospects at all. Being cold sucked to begin with, not to mention flying against the storm. However, no matter how strong the winds, her broom zipped with no blunder, moved by something else other than magic.
All that time, all that time she had been wondering, how to act, how to express her feelings but… She patted her trench coat pocket, feeling the flat objects inside and smiled. Did any of that matter now?
With a splattering step she climbed down her broom, looking thoughtfully at the forsaken mansion that laid, oddly silent, under the relentless rain. Attentive golden eyes scanned her surroundings as the witch calmly walked inside.
Mold and wetness blended in in a mix of smells that assaulted Marisa’s nose in a bout, but it was only one that had her stopped in her tracks. The smell of smoke, the smell of fire, so brightly burning into her nose and mind alike.
Knees bended under her weight hitting the floor with no hesitation, her vision blurred as if snow was clouding it, her body burned as if the flames causing this were too kissing her skin, to the point her palms touching the wet puddles under her brought nothing but relief.
‘Witch! Witch, she’s a witch!’ ‘Burn her at the stake! Ahahaha!’ ‘Light her house on fire!’ ‘May the flames cleanse this wretched place!’
Marisa caught her heaving breath as unknown voices rang in her ears and her ears alone.
And voice, a gentle voice trembling with sadness echoing from the past yet resounding very vividly in the present, muffled the loud silence of the mansion.
‘Mirror… tell me something…’ A figure walked by in front of Marisa’s eyes, yet another shadow of a time long gone.
‘Tell me who’s the loneliest of all…’ The girl, fleeting green hair wavering in the air as she paced, looked down at something. ‘Mirror, what’s inside me? Tell me, can a heart be turned to stone?’
Something was amiss. The dim lighted walls looked like nothing but darkness in Marisa’s eyes, a miasma charged with nothing but resentment filled the decrepit and once glamorous mansion. A whirlwind of emotions, twisting and churning in her heart, growing, overflowing, turning her into someone that wasn’t her. And sudden realization… that woman of green hair, pacing in those very familiar halls, looking at the hand mirror that had been on that silver haired one’s hands as well, the one consumed by fire and guilt.
Rushing through her, thoughts, memories, and memories that didn’t belong, she felt herself losing to whatever force that was… yet, she hadn’t backed down before, why would she now? Now that she was so close to… everything?
“Grrraaah!” Marisa got back to her feet, her brows wrinkled in a frown, and smacked her cheeks with both hands, regaining her focus and continuing onwards ignoring voices and phantoms, her heavy, hurried steps echoed through the desolated walls, bouncing off as if they were musical notes of their own.
And yet, the voice in her ear, calmly…
‘Mirror, mirror, what’s behind you? Save me from the things I see.’
The witch ignored it as she stormed into the room, coughing slightly from the smoke that flowed freely from inside. The sisters standing in front of her adjusting their instruments stopped to look at the invader, the white one giving her a smirk that rubbed her off in the wrong way.
‘I can keep it from the world so why won’t you let me hide from me?’
Her semi-closed eyes planned to look at the source of the smoke but instead fell on a very familiar silhouette, laying on the ground, breathing with difficulty between coughs.
“Alice!” And just like that, all the hesitations she had expected disappeared into thin air as she blasted a hole on the nearest wall, using it as a vent to the smoke. Then quickly but carefully, she picked the doll maker up in her arms, getting them both away from the black cloud.
Marisa laid down with one arm wrapped around Alice’s shoulders and back, carefully supporting the one porcelain doll she would never want to see broken. She could feel that heart beating rhythmically as if it was a drum, encompassing the witch in the only melody she had longed to hear ever since they were apart.
‘You’re real… You’re finally here with me and you’re alive… I’m so glad, so very glad…’ Unconsciously, she felt her arms holding the magician closer to her as her own heart, for once, felt light like a feather.
Marisa looked down at the girl, she was slipping from consciousness, but she seemed unhurt.
“Alice, hey! Wake up!” Her voice soft but urgent.
Golden eyes rose from the puppet master back to the poltergeists, a menacing glint to them.
“What have you done to her?”
‘Mirror… Mirror, tell me something…’ And the singing breaks down to a sob. ‘Is it that grand a sin for me to want us four to be reunited once again?’

Episode 3: Exciting collab with Dani!! Subtitle: Demons know each other, and so do rippers?
After the hearty meal, they had followed Momiji to the center of the village and currently, the wolf tengu was discussing with the half-hakutaku something, probably regarding Aya. Koishi was sitting on a bench nearby, legs kicking the air cheerfully as she watched. She had heard that Keine had gotten hurt pretty bad by the Rippy person she kept hearing about, but it seemed that she was back to her feet. A nod of the head and a polite bow and Momiji made her way back to the rest of the group. “Miss Kamishirasawa agreed to let me cooperate on the defense of the Village. People have spotted Aya flying around too so I’ll stay around here.” Her legs went to a stop as the satori looked sadly at Momiji. “You’re staying here? But…” The tengu smiled sadly. “I’m sorry, but I have a mission to fulfill. You have more friends now, don’t you?” She asked looking at Futo and Yoshika. “Yeah… but who will hunt and cook food?” ‘Uh… was that your concern?’ Momiji looked at the other two. “Any idea where you’re going now?” "Hell if I know, why don't we let shrimpy here use her Fangy Shoe, or whatever it's called?", Yoshika said while playing around with Futo's hat, keeping it out of her reach and watching her jump for it, to no avail. "It's FENG SHUI!!! Now give me back my hat you... you big meanie!" Giving up on her hat, Futo started thinking weather feng shui could actually determine the location of the ripper. Casting her eyes on the satori again, Momiji looked worriedly at Koishi. “You can always stay here, you know?” Her green eyes looked at the other two and then back at Momiji. “I know they’re weird.” She smiled. “But I’m weird too!” She stood up, arms stretched at her sides as if she was ready to embrace something. “The world has so many interesting things inside, it’s boring to stay in only one place!” Chuckling the tengu crossed her arms. A few months ago she knew nothing but the mountain and its surroundings, leaving it and meeting new people, new places had open her horizons. “That is true…” Interrupting the heartwarming moment, Yoshika lightly smacked Koishi on the top of her head. "What do you mean by weird people, weirdo?" Yoshika had in truth interrupted because she didn't want to see this weird girl crying for some reason unknown to her. “Ahaha~ But being weird is fun, right?” Koishi chuckled and turned at Yoshika. “We’re all weird so might as well be weird together! Being weird alone is sad.” She concluded, her last sending carrying a vague hint of sadness. “If you’re weird alone, you’ll end up thinking you’re weirder than you really are and then you’ll be scared of what others will think of you.” She continued and then looked at Yoshika with a smile. “You have friends don’t you? Since you don’t think you’re weird.” "Pffft well I guess I am Yoshika's friends, but superior would be more, accurate and appropriate." Futo stood with an air of slightly arrogant superiority. "Hmph, as you say, your Shrimpness." Yoshika presented Futo's hat back to her in a mocking kneel, 'offering' it back to her. “Anyway…” Momiji looked at Keine and back at them. “I have to go. Please don’t get into and or cause any trouble.” “Yes~” Koishi piped. “I’ll come back to visit you, Momiji.” The wolf smiled. “I’ll hold you on to that.” And then waved and walked off. "Hey umm… Koishi, come with us!" Futo said glad that Yoshika had given her some proper respect, she had so many questions about this science stuff Koishi had talked about. Exciting the stall she said "The ripper is…. this-a-way follow me!" "And how did you decide that?" Yoshika asked, not liking the way she doubted before choosing a direction. “That isn’t important.” Koishi started cheerfully. “If she messes up and things get dangerous, we’ll use her as a meat shield~” And then she started following Futo, leaving a confused Yoshika lagging behind.

Collab with The Bug and the Murderer of Friends I mean Relick. Also, incase anyone calls me out: Post the thing already! [22:41:15] Pikno: Has it reset? [22:41:18] Dani "The Amazing Lazy Cat": New round starts now [22:41:33] Dani "The Amazing Lazy Cat": I reckon no one else is gonna post I have permission to do so!Rin opened her eyes, and turned on her side in her bed. She glanced at the marble walls, then looked up at the decorated ceiling. It suddenly hit her that she wasn't in her own bedroom. It seemed it wasn't the only thing that hit her, too, judging by how much her head was throbbing. Did she just bang her head? Or had someone hit her? Either way, she couldn't remember, and she sat up. Surveying the somewhat large room, there was no-one else around. Rin thought it would probably be a good idea to find Satori, so stood up and tried to walk towards the door briskly, but almost fell over from the pain on her head. This can't have just been a bump, it hurts too much. Taking it slower, she made her way into the corridor and towards her master's office. Seija lay against the wooden door, her crutches acted like barriers to stop anyone from entering. Half of the lime green skirt lay on her shattered legs. She just laid there, smiling to herself. I can finally cast away this shell.
A shell of myself, weakened and shattered. Hope, dreams and despair fell out of me.
If they want change. I’ll show them change. She lifted herself up, leaning on her crutches and she felt like the dress was fusing with her skin, at first she felt an overwhelming urge to tear off the clothes. But like claws from a cat, they began digging into her, telling her to accept it. She stood there for a whole minute, feeling the world fly past her. Seija finally turned to the door, she turned the doorknob and walked out back into the hallway. She held the biggest grin on her face. "I wonder where Satori is~" Seija smirked to herself, already attempting to find Satori, she began walking to the other end of the corridor. From the outside of the mistress' window, the little child of a bird returned, its tattered figure was quietly shivering in her hands. The pitiful messenger didn't complete its duty, it came back without a reply from Alice. How sad it was, begging for forgiveness, moaning over and over again the same words, 'I couldn't find her'. Sad little magician, where on that one single path could her shadow disappear to? Visibly was the child shaken up as she again grabbed its leg forcefully, attaching to it a new piece of letter written neatly, almost too neatly. "Well then. May this be your final chance. Bring this letter to the Decipher of the Village." Mistress or servant, they never intended to communicate further with the outside world, human and youkai alike. Rin walked, stumbled and swayed her way down the halls. She heard footsteps and voices, but couldn't tell if they were real or imagined. She reached Satori's door, and opened it. "H-hey, Satori-sama". Seconds later, Seija rushed into the room, having seen Rin walk into the room. "Wait!" She stood there, wearing Koishi's familiar skirt and she looked directly at Rin. "Why hello there." Rin turned and looked at Seija, clad in a different dress. She rubbed her eyes. Was that Seija? Or was it just Koishi, and she was seeing things. "I think I need to sit down..." She spoke aloud, and then took a seat in the off "What's wrong with you?" Seija sighed and then spoke in a mocking tone. "Did little kitty get confused?" The books she was craddling in hands like a baby fell to the ground like a small avalanche. "...Seija." Her feet that moments ago were dragged along, suddenly felt so light as she bounced to the little one with a newly found energy. "Seiiiiija." Wearing such familiar clothes, the child's face that starkly contrasted with the innocent one she had long since observed, glowed darkly. "Are you having too much free time, Seija!?" Strangely conveniently placed there was that little leather belt she grabbed. Seija was taken aback from Satori's sudden anger, she leaned back. "You'd be surprised to know how much free time you'd have when you're here." She then looked at the little leather belt. "You aren't that cruel right?" "Kitty?" Rin's eyes welled up slightly, then her face screwed up into anger. She was always bullied when she was young for being 'a little kitty', and that's why she strived to grow up really strong. "Nobody calls me kitty!" Rin lashed forwards, claws extended and scratched across Seija's face, with a slap. Slaash! The claws went across her face, small scratches appearing across her cheek, she was dumbstruck, she looked at Rin for merely a second... "Did... You just scratch me?" She spoke in a soft voice, in the corner of her eyes, tears started to form, looking at Rin. "No, I just tickled you." An awkward silence resonated for a brief second after Rin's sarcasm. "You should be careful who you insult." She rubbed her eyes, then asked, "Why are you wearing Koishi's clothes?" To be forgotten... That phrase bounced around in her head, she wanted to blurt it out to Rin and Satori, but she just couldn't form the words. "To be forgotten" The words pasted a strangely bitter sense in the rear of her tongue. Flashing before her sight that misted over, was the child's teardrops lining up in the crimson corner of eyes, seemingly hidden behind the oversized watermelon hat. Please forget about me, sister. Her raspy palms touched her wrinkled forehead, who was it that said such painful words? Many days, many days had long past since the last time she remembered it, a little child tearing up, the gaze that for the first time turned defiant glistened like two emerald gems. "To be forgotten... is not to transform into another person, Seija." Especially, when the person you were becoming, also wanted to disappear from others' memories. "Let us find you new clothes. I take that as your old clothes have been no longer... usable." "..." She looked at Satori. She just couldn't hold it anymore, she began crying on the spot. "You wouldn't understand!" She screamed at Satori. "You don't understand to have your life ruined, friends betraying you! First Shinmyoumaru did it, and then... Yuuka did it! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!" Long moments of silence passed. "You're hated too... Aren't you? That's why you stayed holed up here..." In the eyes of the child, there were countless little stars flashing weakly, as if clinging to a faint hope. The fairytale she had long heard of, two hated sisters each with a single wing, holing up in a deserted word, in quiet imperfection lied unchangeable hearts. "You are supposed to take pleasure from being in such situation though, amanojaku." "Taking pleasure from my own pain?" She looked blankly at Satori. "Seija Kijin, amanojaku. Creature known to adore being unliked." "And you. Miss Satori Komeiji. You dislike me, you all do." In the child's voice there lay a sour mixture of loneliness. Her sly words again formed a quiet barrier around her heart, sending the conversation to a wistful distance. "Those that have hated you... Is being loved by them any better anyway?" Her words are as cold as ice, yet the truth is like ice..."Why... are you being so kind to me?" "...Do not mistake a firefly for a star." It will end up hurting you again, in the process. She stood there, looking at the floor. "Miss Satori, you know something, right as I walked in, you started yelling at me, now all of a sudden, you're acting like I'm someone else." "...I have little problem resuming such behaviors, amanojaku." "...You know, we should talk this over, in full detail, perhaps over a cup of tea? I noticed that you have a tea pot back in the hospital room." For a brief moment, she remembered, there used to be something resembling a teardrop, lying around the corner of the child's eyes. "Not before you change into different outfit." Just hope my... merciful mood will disappear as she no longer wears Koishi's clothes."My old clothes are a sin, a constant reminder of my failures, only made people want to catch me, I don't want to be caught, for all I care, I died already." This was starting to feel like being taken advantage of. "...Constantly mentioning it, it appears you love it more than your words say." It did not occur to her that Orin was around until that split moment. "Orin, if you do not mind taking her to find new clothes?" "Ugh, what exactly do you want to give her? Only your clothes fit..." She suddenly remembered, "Actually, Satori-sama, how about those clothes you wore when you went through your... phase ?" "...You haven't burnt them?" Her irises felt like on fire, a sudden fire glistening behind her eyelids. "'Phase?'" Seija looked at Satori and Rin in rapid succession. "...It was nothing. Although, now I remember. I do believe Orin possesses quite a collection of dresses. Orin, please get her a nice bow." Perhaps these were what they addressed as, 'things you will definitely find childish growing up.' Barely staring past the hair of the child that glistened in so many colors, to appear that she was looking intently, her eyes glanced back to an unfinished letter. "You will never find out if you don't try. Anyway, feel free to choose to your heart's content." Minutes passed, Seija was trying on many dresses of many designs, and only twice she put on a bow. Around 15 minutes passed and Seija came out, she wore a black dress with frills at the bottom, hiding her legs. She even choose a tiny black bow that hid her small white strand of hair. " "How do I look?" In the new outfit, the tiny silhouette of the amanojaku had vanished, and somehow gladly, along with that of the child sister of hers-- "Fine." --revealing this little new one standing in the middle of their velvet room, precious noble clothings adorned this same childlike face. "It suits you." Once upon a time there was a silver child that dreamt of change...How strange, and yet, how familiar. "Amanojaku in Gothic clothes... I ask you, what is your name now?" "Satori, you shall be the first to know, my name... is Yui Kawaru."
Yui: From Japanese 結 (yu) "tie, bind" or 優 (yu) "gentleness, superiority" combined with 衣 (i) "clothing, garment".
Kawaru: From Japanese かわる, 'kawaru' literally means 'to change'.
Precious Gothic Seija forever.

Yet another wonderful collab between Dankiri, Nick, and me!
Eirin and Youmu were on their way to the same fiery lightshow that now attracted Reisen and Yuyuko. Once they neared the source, Eirin stopped Youmu, and placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Youmu, I know I said I need your help for this, and I meant it. This is very dangerous, you understand?” Eirin looked deep into Youmu’s eyes, and Youmu thought she could see some hesitation in Eirin’s tone.
“O-Of course!” Youmu replied, a bit taken aback at their abrupt stop and Eirin’s repeated warning. “I would do anything to save Yuyuko!” Youmu tried to turn back towards their destination, but Eirin held her shoulder firm. Suddenly, a look of compassion appeared on Eirin’s face, as she said to Youmu.
“Thank you. And, I am sorry.”
Suddenly, Youmu felt a prick on her neck, and immediately fell to her knee’s. The next few moments were a blur, but once she regained her senses a few seconds later, she was propped against a tree, breathing heavily. Her feet still refused to move, and her mouth could utter no words. There was a foreboding black shape a few hundred feet ahead of her, and it seemed to have noticed her. The source of the flames had disappeared, and all she could hear was her own, excessively loud breathing.
------------------------------------------------------------
At about the same time Eirin and Youmu stopped to talk, Reisen and Yuyuko were also nearing the scene. Reisen explained to Yuyuko on the way how Mokou and her had found Youmu fighting the Ripper, and intervened just a little too late to prevent Youmu from receiving a serious injury. Reisen had rushed off to find help, while Mokou stayed back to fend the beast off.
“We’re nearing the place.” Reisen said to Yuyuko. There were no longer any flames, but there was visibly a clearing ahead. “Hang back for a second; I want to make sure nothing is up. Mokou should still be fighting… I’ll give you the go ahead when I know what’s happening.”
Yuyuko nodded in understanding, her pink eyes full of worry, yet a blossoming anger. "As soon as possible, please," she responded. "I need to make sure Youmu is okay. I will not be at ease until that fact is established."
“Thank you very much, I’ll be as quick as I can, two minutes at most.”
Reisen ran forward, her eyes glowing red. She had created a field of manipulated sound around her, so nothing outside of a 5 foot radius could hear the noises she made. In front of her, in the clearing, was a large, dark figure, looking around as if it had lost somethings trail. Farther down the field, there was a much smaller silhouette propped against a tree.
“Bingo,” Reisen thought, and shifted her focus. She moved the sound manipulation field toward the figure, and enhanced the noises made inside. Suddenly, the air around them was filled with the sound of heavy, strained breathing. The creature turned its head.
Green orbs stared at the lights brightening the skies. She had no interest in the inhabitant’s childish danmaku play, but the fireworks made up for a good show.
A rustle in the nearby bushes caught her attention, the smell of burnt wood evident in the air.
Calmly, as if she owned all the time in the world, she followed the trail… and suddenly. The sound of heaving was all she could hear. Under the hood a smile formed and she turned her head in the direction of the sound.
Against the tree was a silver haired girl.
Slowly she approached the girl, she kneeled and looked at her face, whispering loud enough for Youmu to hear. “Honorable samurai, straining to keep her consciousness afloat, how does it feel to be turned into bait by the people you trust?” She looked up to the danmaku display happening nearby. “Suddenly, your breathing was louder than the fireworks, how queer.” She stood up, smiling, a hand finding its way to the trembling phantom half.
Reisen watched as the beast approached Youmu’s form. Something about the way it moved made her think that the Ripper knew she was there, but that was irrelevant. What mattered was what came next.
“YUYUKO, GET OVER HERE NOW!” Reisen yelled.
The pink-haired ghost hurried over to the Lunarian. "Where's my Youm-" she started, but she stopped talking once she noticed the scene in front of her.
Youmu was laying unconscious in the grass, a peaceful and serene look on her face as she breathed slowly. Above the girl was the shady figure that struck fear in the hearts of many across the land of Gensokyo, and said figure was reaching toward her.
Yuyuko's eyes narrowed dangerously. "W-What the hell is the meaning of this?!" she shouted, beginning to hurry toward her gardener.
Talking as fast as she could, Reisen yelled: "THERE'S NO TIME! DO SOMETHING!"
Yuyuko glared back at the Lunarian. "What, are you just going to stand there instead of helping me out?!" she snapped. "Let's take this nuisance down and save her! Take out a spell card, rabbit!"
Reisen's face went from shock to relief in about half a second. She relaxed her powers and managed to utter an "Oh thank god.." before she was interrupted by a tremendous blast.
Suddenly, a great flaming arrow shot from the surrounding trees, headed directly for the Ripper. It was fired from almost point blank. There was no time to react.
The Ripper got sent tumbling down to the ground, cracks forming on her features, bits off glass peeling off of her. She didn’t move.
In the next instant, Reisen shot forward as fast as she could, using her power to conceal her position. She slammed into Youmu's body, sending it flying back towards the cavalry in the trees.
"!" Yuyuko watched as Youmu flew into the forest and gave chase, heavily confused at what was going on at this point. All she knew was that the Lunarians were heavily pissing her off and the Ripper seems to be out of commission after that arrow strike.
Once there, she saw as Youmu lay face down in the dirt in front of a tree, still not moving. She hurried over and knelt down next to her servant, hugging her close. "Thank goodness..." she murmured, sighing in relief hearing the girl breathe softly.
Eirin and Mokou emerged from the woods, and slowly walked towards the Rippers prone form. They stopped once they got 10 feet away, looked at eachother, and started unleashing as much danmaku as they could at the cracked beast.
The sound of glass breaking filled the air and then it suddenly stopped as the Ripper casually materialized itself behind Eirin and asked amusingly. "Are you sure leaving your home unprotected was a good idea?"
Then she jumped back as both women prepared their spell cards.
"Yuyuko Saigyouji," She was sure the woman could listen. "Trust my words or not, that is your decision to make. I have no interest in you or your servant. In fact, you could say I have a very strong affinity with ghosts." The hooded woman said, chuckling lightly. "And I took you for a wise person, you should've known better than to associate with the lunarians."
She twirled out of the way as orbs of fire came raining down on her, licking past her robes. "Learn how to choose your allies better next time." The Ripper finished and she gave a big leap to the middle of the forest, the darkness created by the scarlet mist conceiling her black clothes in an instant.
Eirin sighed, as the Ripper vanished into the dark horizon. She could feel the anger radiating from behind her, and turned to face what she was preparing for the entire day. She wasn’t sure if she was ready.
“Yuyuko,” Eirin started, trying to carefully choose her words. “I suppose I owe you an explanation.”
Yuyuko seethed with anger, holding Youmu's body in her arms as she gave the doctor a piercing gaze. "You have PLENTY to explain. I suggest you start now before I blow my top."

Yuuka's mind drifted, her eyes flickered; her wounds were tiring. Had she not been so careless dealing with others, perhaps she'd actually be close to finding the Ripper. Now, instead, she was swanning around next to a lake. How she got here was beyond her - she normally flew around but the searing pain in her abdomen would arise every time she tried; she had been on foot for days instead. Looking across the foggy lake, she could just about make out the sillhouette of a large mansion. If nothing else, it stood as a landmark signifying where she was, which was the Misty Lake. At best, the building she saw, the Scarlet Devil Mansion, could serve as a makeshift hospital if she made her way to it. For now, it was important to rest. Yuuka lay down on the grassy bank, and spread her arms out, looking up to the sky. The cool breeze coming in from the lake was humid, but carried with it a particular freshness that could rejuvenate. The green-haired fairy was flying above the lake, trying to get used to her new looks before carrying on with her search. For some reason, she felt like flying with 4 wings instead of 2 felt much more tiring and difficult. She probably would get used to it, eventually. While doing her laps across the lake, she spotted something amongst the mist that envelops the lake. A human-like silhouette. She instinctively reached her hand to her pocket, in case it was the Ripper or some other malicious creature. The silhouette walked as if something was bothering it. 'Is that person injured...? I think I can smell blood from here, but...' The silhouette eventually laid down on the grass, arms spread out. The newlyborn sprite decided to get close to the silhouette, never keeping her right hand out of reach from her spellcards, just in case. "Uh... Excuse me, miss. Are you okay? You seemed as if something was bothering you while walking..." she said, once she got close enough to the person in question. Yuuka glanced to where the voice was coming from. She hadn't had her get close, but she was distracted with other thoughts. In typical fashion, she started by teasing, "Perhaps it was you that was bothering me!" She sat up and had a better look at the fairy. Dai backed out a little. The woman didn't exactly look friendly. "No, I mean... You looked like..." the green-haired fairy glanced at the youkai. A piece of red cloth, the same color as the youkai's skirt, was wrapped around her abdomen, and it looked like as if something had wet a part of it. "Well, you... You seem to be injured, and since this Ripper guy is going around attacking people... I was wondering if you were okay or needed someone to heal you or something, miss..." Yuuka changed her tone, coming to terms with the situation she was in, and realising this little person could help. "Ah, uh, yeah, sorry about that, I was attacked and harmed a little while back and I've not been thinking straight since." She untied the makeshift bandage, and showed the large, potentially infected, lesion that could be seen through the bloodied tear in her blouse. "Do you know anyone who could do something about this? I would be very grateful for any help." Yuuka faked a friendly smile. The sprite looked at the injury. 'That... Looks pretty bad. What did she get into...?' "Uhm. I'm no doctor myself so I wouldn't know how to heal that properly, but... Maybe you could try going to Eientei and seeing that Eirin woman? I can carry you there if you need to." she stared at the youkai for about a second. "Uh... Forgive me for asking but... Who attacked you? You see, I'm trying to investigate regarding the Ripper incident and if by chance you have seen it or can tell me something about where it might be...?" Yuuka thought to herself about the person in front of her. It seems this girl will be of little use after all. "The Ripper is the creature scaring everyone in the village, right? If so, then yes, that is the thing that attacked me. I was just about able to fend it off, and last I saw of it, it was heading east of here." Lying through her teeth was as easy as it had always been, although, it intrigued her why such a weak looking sprite was asking such questions. "If you don't mind me asking, why exactly are you investigating the Ripper?" "Well uh..." the fairy stuttered. "A fairy friend of mine got attacked by the ripper so I guess you could say it's some sort of 'revenge'...? There's also the fact that I'm worried about Marisa's sigil and, well. I don't want any more people to die." she sighed. "I've been going around lots of places, but I only managed to find out that the ripper has the ability of dream manipulation..." "Perhaps we can help each other." Yuuka changed her mind again. "You seem to know a lot - and you're determined, that's good. What else have you uncovered about the creature?" "Well, I don't really know much..." Dai rubbed her chin. "First of all, it seems that the ripper wants to bring someone back to life... That's why it's objective is to steal life energy from people. It apparently fears fire. Besides that, it's ability its dream manipulation and apparently it can take the form of one's worst nightmare. And, besides that... It also seems to be going for stronger people as he himself gets stronger... I learned that the avatar of bishamonten died, back while I was on Higan. I don't know much more." "Ah, well, it seems you know everything I do and more on top. Sorry I can't be of more use." Yuuka smirked, "I also appreciate your offer of taking me to Eientei, but I think I'll be fine on my own." She spoke quietly to herself, but loud enough to be heard, "I really do need to check on my flowers... Maybe I should head back home first." "If only there was some sort of 'Dream World' on Gensokyo. It would be the most ideal place to learn stuff about the ripper." the fairy sighed. "And... That wound looks like it will only gets worse with time, I mean... It looks really bad. You should let someone take proper care of it before returning home..." "The Dream World, huh? Reminds me of Mugenkan... I wonder if Elly got my note." Yuuka almost drifted away from the conversation in reminiscience. "As for my wound, Eientei would be great, except I don't particularly want to be indebted to an immortal, though. It's quite the difficult situation. Unless there are other doctors around here, I'll have to make do with a herbal remedy. Luckily, my medicines are mixed with a bit of flowery love! Hopefully I'll be back to normal soon. It would be a shame to die so young." "'Flowery love'...?" Dai tilted her head to a side. "Uh... That's probably the weirdest way of healing that I ever heard about... Regardless, I hope you do well and--" Dai stopped for a second. "... Wait. You know about a Dream World?" "I used to live there, almost. On the boundary between Gensokyo and the Dream World exists the manor of Mugenkan, my past residence. I learned a lot about how to manipulate dreams and what resides in the Dream World whilst there." Yuuka stood up, using her parasol as a walking stick. "I can take us there, if you like." 'If the ripper knows Dream Manipulation then there's a chance that...' Dai nodded. "If it's not too much trouble... I'd like to go there. To the Dream World, I mean." "Very well. I'll stop off at the Garden for the flower I need, prepare my ailment, then we'll be off." She turned around, started to walk, then looked back, "Just keep in mind, there's a reason dream magic was banished from Makai. Creatures as bad as the Ripper have made the Dream World their home. You might be a fairy, but if you allow these creatures even a second of time inside your mind, you will not make it back." Dai lowered her head for a second, then nodded. "Very well then, I'll be careful." she followed the flower youkai. "By the way, I don't think we presented each other... I'm Daiyousei, an ascended fairy." "I'm Yuuka Kazami, Flower Master of the Four Seasons. At least, that's what I'm called... flower manipulation isn't even my main strength but it seems to be my most famous characteristic," Yuuka sighed. "You seem pleasant, and quick to trust. That's not a good thing, but it's certainly better than the last person who followed me around. Anyway, let's go." ~ Somewhere around the Geysers, some time ago ~
Yuuka leaned back and stretched her arms out behind her. "That's the last time I try and finish something quickly. Next time I’ll just go for the old strategy of slow and steady." She walked over to Seija's body, leaned down and checked for signs of life. She was alive - barely. "I guess I'll leave you here. If you've got the strength, you'll get back up. If not, then you're pathetic, and deserve to die."
There was slight movement in Seija, She barely tilted her neck, looking at Yuuka. "Now you care..." "Well, are you going to finish what you started?" She cried out in pain, her legs were snapped, she had to take sudden gasps every time she spoke.
"Ah, there's that fighting spirit I saw in you earlier. I won't kill you, not while you want to die. You're suitably disabled in that state." She put up her parasol. "Now then, it seems I've got several incidents to solve. Don't follow me, else I will finish you."
"I cannot exactly move here, but I learnt something, you don't play like those in the hunt though, you went to limit my ability to move, something the others didn't. That's how a youkai should act, not bound to the strongest's rules."
The green-haired youkai stopped, and looked back sternly, "I did not attempt to limit your movement. I attempted to kill you - admittedly half-heartedly. Provided someone finds you, you will probably make a recovery. You better hope for your sake that we don't cross paths again."
"Goodbye..." Seija looked to the snow, hugging it slightly, although she didn't realize it at first, she had grown quite used to the weird friendship that the two had gained.
Yuuka grunted, and hobbled away. This thorn in her side wouldn't hold her back any more.

The breath of the child thrashed about and around with the fading final notes. The ending of her cadenza, after such a long, long time of practice, such a long, long time of perfection, again today ended in clumsy notes coming tumble down. And yet, as if having finally acquired wings of their own, that final passage with no complaint, quietly took off, together in the heat of the flames. "...How careless."
Partly revealed behind the quiet trumpet settled down, the faint-colored lips arched into that quiet, bashful smile. "Ehehe, I messed up. Silly me, right?"Her youngest sibling that broke eye contact with her all of a sudden, as if unable to bear her sister's persistent grin, quietly turned away. Sweat that relentlessly painted the back of her white clothes transparent, quietly streamed down her cheeks, for a brief moment almost faked tears. "I'm sorry."In her hands, the golden violin weighed somehow, a little heavier upon her child sister's words, almost pulling her down to the crimson carpet, whose colors had already blended in the fire. Her child sister that had turned almost a bit too apologetic during these short passages of time, all of it had become somehow a little too sad. Days, months, years, how long, she had forgotten all about it. After all, this quiet, single time that flowed through the spaces between their fingers, had long since been gentle on them. As if the predator and its prey that it, constantly and cruelly, gave chase, had all ignored those who were left in the sidelines. She and her child sisters, who had lived in their own timeline of grand, otherwordly music. Music brought salvation to everyone. ~Welcome to my world that's painted with sadness Brought. ~There's no light of sun, there you can't hear any sound at all
Brought. From the carpet whose past dearly held their footsteps that streamed on this floor, there emitted a gentle fume that quietly grasped on her nose. Red, blue, red, blue. Humans that glowed with prideful light, how could they have never known how radiant these poisonous gases may become- was it their survival instinct that guided them to always flee and escape? The writhing breath of the golden magician that withered like a flower in winter, crumpled on the floor like a broken piece of cookie. "Sister, what are we gonna do to her?"
After all, humans were weak. She looked at the child, her sister that glistened with quirky innocence, the wooden-colored pair of shining jewels almost sneered back at her. How insolent, how impolite that was, to an elder family member, she was sure she did not raise this kid to be someone as disrecpectful as that- "Haven't we done something to her already?"
Well, as it came to it, elder... The flames quietly dragged on, dreaded in pain. The eyes of the child sparked up in a moment, and yet, somehow, the light seemed to further darken her face. "...What are we gonna do with her?"
Her shoulders shrugged on their own. "I don't know."
An answer before any word might be spoken. "..Then what did you burn the house for?"
The half-corpse lay limply, surrounded in magnificent gas, how elegant and defenseless, perhaps still drenched in the cruel notes of her sister, perhaps still dreaming of a faraway land, it was just like a certain someone... "Hm."
A certain someone who forever and ever, dreamt of the far light of reunion. "I wonder why, myself."
Of the gentle glow in the faces of those ones, the faces they clearly knew as well as their own, and yet, almost worlds and skies apart. "...But this is our house...?"How innocent... "...Just because we have been living in it"For many, many years, For even far longer than the humans might have, "Doesn't mean it is ours."The flames that quietly embraced the silent furniture- as kind and enduring as they had always been for so many, many years, never stopped to look behind, look at the trail of pain it left. Just like, time. Just like, life. "Doesn't mean you can just burn it!"Bursting into tears, you searched for the days that fell in tatters..."It's the house she let us live in!"Children who were freed from all of that, of pain, time, and life, why were you still unhappy...? "You just burnt it without even asking us!"Such a distasteful sight, the churned nose, those hands that gripped the skirt tight as if almost tearing them up, oh my, her smallest child sister that never learnt how to be refined- she was sure she did not raise them up to be this way. They were supposed to be- happy, yes, happy, glistening like bouquets gifted at them the moments their concerts ended. Surely she would need to discipline her more... A tiny, almost audible voice, faded away between the flares. "There, Lyrica."
Her gentle hands touched the child's almost shivering shoulders, whispering to her ears, the voice like a lemon candy. "I trust big sister."Her happy-go-lucky sister that used to be cheery like a dandelion following the wind of her trumpet, did her just become such a gentle mother overnight? "Let's just-- put this magician over there. The smoke is toxic to the body..."
A little shaken. "I guess we didn't stir her up this much to just let the fire kill her, you think so?"
"...Dunno. Dunno anything."
"Ehehe, come on, you grab her legs. Ah, she's so heavy."
Were some slender shoulders again shivering in the back of her vision today? ~I've never asked for this place that's called my home,
Someone was clumsily tripping and tearing up today too... ~But hope, you will be staying with me until the end
That bold one, slamming in the sea of flames of a house with no hesitation, her wand held tight in her hands, almost resembled a fiery torch herself. How did that one come here, this room of all places, she wondered, slightly trembled under the vision of the old pathway blocking away any sign of life. That one's voice, the sounds she made, everything rushed over them like a tsunami that knew no mercy to the shore that knew no chaos. Like statues observing as life streamed through, they stood there to watch and watch, so intently, so quietly, almost as if their eyelashes were not moving in the slightest. "Alice!"
Such a disrupt for a plan that didn't exist, this one sure looked like no joke. Even then, her figure that almost dashed to the limp flower wilting away in the smoke, cradling it in hands so gently, so dearly, ignoring the existence of her enemies, was somehow, so powerful. "What have you done to her?"
After all, they were well aware to say the least, in one way or another, love could become strength too. Collecting her thoughts that had fallen in pieces, a part of her had spoken without the other's notice. "We were simply playing..."
A game of sounds, of life, and of maniac trumpet. "...something that would probably leave some after effects."
The reason it was played, in the first place anyway. Her child sister spoke up again, in her gentle tone, so caring, so fearless, clutching her skirt quietly. "I don't very well know how the effects on her will be myself... But it probably will be sad."
As it was so very sad already. Somehow, a small animal clenched her heart tight. Adamantly she spoke up, and yet, at the back of her mind there was something pulling her back, so quietly. "As you are now here, you who have come so far... I doubt we will be able to stop you by force, but we shall ensure that, there is nothing for you to find here anymore."The palms of her child sisters' that tenderly clasped together, were as if conductors for this raging orchestra of flames, climbing the walls, the roof in a blink of eye. How it would look from the outside, in the snow, she wondered- will it finally and literally shine, in its final moment like its forever wish? "Fight us all you will, but nothing will last long. This house, anything you wanted to find..."
Please, Layla, please go.
"...and her."
Please disappear, to somewhere, somewhere you could stay away from them, doing what you had always dreamt of. It is all right. The fire will erase everything...
My dear child sisters, have you ever thought of, whose house will it be next morning?
I'm sorry, Layla. Yet, this house holds so many, clues for them, and pains for us. All of us.
The tender canvas was almost still singing alone in the fire. Please, Layla, please go. It hurts.
