nah i don't think i'll ever care about the characters. Basically i'm here just for the gameplay stuff and nothing else. EDIT: thanks for the encouragement though Why don't you play better shmups than touhou then?
Since there are a lot of other, possibly better shmups. The thing that really sets touhou apart is the characters, music etc. and the large fanbase. If you literally only care about the gameplay, I'm sure you can find something that is far more entertaining.
EDIT: nvm it's ironic lol considering i complain quite a bit about touhou after playing other shmups |

Decimocuarto dia: SDM or Youkai Mountain area I really like european kind of places, but Youkai mountain has a really nice atmos to it.
Decimo quinto dia: Star, because she is smurt, and stuff.
Decimo sexto dia: Reimu, because she just represents a lot of negative ideals, at least for me, and because; main character != good character. Most underrated Kourin, because he gets a lot of hate from people who haven't even read CoLA, just because he's a man, I mean seriously?

Kaguya Houraisan - Jeez. So much hate against Flan. :< (She has appeared in EoSD, StB, BAiJR, and has a small cameo in IotM/IotE. She hasn't appeared less than Letty.) Favourite Touhou Pairing?MariAri, CirDai and FlanKoi. All three.  Letty appeared in PCB, StB, HM, BAiJR, SSiB, Inaba, GoM, OSP, FS, WiHH. Meanwhile, Flandre is EoSD, StB, BAiJR, PMiSS, SaBND, Inaba, GoM, FS. Letty has had 10 official appearances, Flandre has only had 7. And going back to my original post, I don't believe in romantic pairings because I think all Touhou characters are asexual until proven otherwise. Anyway, for 17, that's a hard one to decide. I like Kaguya's, Kanako's, and Reimu's patterns. |

18. Favorite Danmaku patterns
I'm weird in that I never really paid attention to how 'pretty' patterns are...gonna go with Yuyuko for this one because I enjoy her fight a lot.
HM to Sanae because bias. Stars are neat (Takeminakata Invocation is a damn fun spell, too.).

I don't pair Touhou characters romantically, but I don't mind pairing characters as having pseudo-sibling relationships while there is no blood relation. Among those, my favorite is Keine + Mokou, with Keine as the older sister. Orin + Okuu (Orin older) comes a close second~
From the actual canon sibling pairs though, my favorite would be Remilia + Flandre followed by Satori + Koishi. If the question wasn't limited to just pairings, I would also include the Prismriver Sisters

17) Ah, uh... well... I generally don't try to do this, so I'll list the pairs with the most interesting dynamics instead. MariAli makes for rather interesting personality contrast, and I absolutely have to say YuyukoYoumu because Youmu.

1. Youkai Polygraph (SA Extra). Fun, creative, rotations, and Koishi all in the same place.
2. Royal Flare (EoSD Extra). Interesting pattern card. That feeling when you finally figure out how to capture it is just amazing.
3. Seamless Ceiling of Kinkaku-ji (StB 9-6). This card gave me nightmares, and there's nothing like finally capturing it after 1100 pictures. There's also no feeling like coming back after a few months and capturing it on your second attempt.
Honorable mentions: Royal Diamond Ring (StB 5-8), Blood of Asura (StB 6-4), Vague Recollection of Kinkaku-ji (DS 9-7).
(Bonus - Most disliked: Full Moon Pompokolin with Youmu)

Ok now to be more specific about patterns...
I like Kaguya's Seamless Ceiling of the Kinkaku-ji. Can't say it's a favorite, but I like it.
I also like Kanako's Virtue of the Wind God, Reimu's Hakurei Danmaku Barrier, Shou's Most Valuable Vajra/Vajra of Perfect Buddhism, and Miko's Colors/Rank of Twelve Levels.
