FE7 and FE8 are my favorites for sure.
And your ideas seem cool! I don't know what to expect yet.

Hmmm... I think my biggest problem is that I'm not really sure how to approach at the beginning. At the moment I just pair up the units I usually have paired up then try and bait the enemies I want to attack without charging too far in... although a lot of the time this doesn't work (at least not for the first few times I try each mission). I'd just like a strategy that works for most missions, I think, because I feel like I am having to work one out for every single mission individually!

Hmm, a good idea would be to have Frederick or someone weaken some enemies for you and have your other units kill them off to gain EXP.
Or you could do my favorite method: brute force it.

Fire Emblem 7 is my favorite one. I love the plot (that Zephiel plot-twist later in the series was genius) and I love the characters. (Lyn and Hector FTW!)

Hmm, a good idea would be to have Frederick or someone weaken some enemies for you and have your other units kill them off to gain EXP. Or you could do my favorite method: brute force it. This is important. Frederick is a very strong unit, but you need to know this about these games: you get the most EXP when you kill an enemy, not when you hurt it. By using a strong unit as a meatshield, you can have another weaker unit charge in and leech of the exp. But beware, units like Frederick are pre promoted classes, this means that they will suck up the EXP that your weaker units deserve more. In the end, it's better to have multiple good units than one good unit. Also, keep your healer out of enemy range, the healer is one of the most important classes, the healer cannot heal itself, so it's the best to have your healer far from the enemy, but close behind your units Brute force isn't a tactic i personally use, because when a character is dead, he/she will be dead forever AND THEY'RE ALL SO ADORABLE ;_;Also, this is really important: always check the attack range of enemies, that way, you can strategically move your units around the map without being afraid of too much accidental damage

I'm really glad someone created this thread, albeit I only played Awakening, I was fairly good at it, but that's probably because I enjoy strategy games.

It just annoys me that they move (although it would be too easy otherwise ) I usually pair up Lyssa with Fred, would it be better to keep her hanging behind so she can heal every turn? Also good to know that Fred starts off pre-promoted, I'll see if I can train the other ones.

Also you want to use Fred as least as possible, because he will become obsolete by the time you get halfway through the game.

I wonder how anyone can become 'obsolete' in something like Awakening, or Sacred Stones even.
Fire Emblem, is neat. My favorite is Radiant Dawn, my favorite class is the Knight/General(up to Marshal in FE10) class. I wonder why people don't like reclassing.

Personally I like grinding. I like seeing OP characters with stuff stuff capped.
Great FE7 (and FE8) is great <3 The characters were soooo cute and I love the Black Fangggg.
I totally ship Seth x Eirika or Female!Tactician x Rath or Raven x Priscilla OTP.
Anyway for those who have tried the GBA FE games, you could really use some good hacks. Some FE hacks are awesomeeee.

Favourite is FE 11. Least favourite is probably FE4(couldn't even play that for 20 minutes)
Currently playing through fe 12. It's good fun.
