Not sure what you mean by someone she can't support? Thanks for the tip about Fred though. fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/SupportBasically this. Its a concept that that'll happen later ingame Basically, supports affect stats and hit rates. Ah, ok, so why wouldn't I want to pair her up with someone she can support? Wouldn't I want to at least get some benefits from her being paired up?

So really, go nuts.

Whee, Fire Emblem~! I used to be a super big fan of Fire Emblem... wait, no, I kinda still am, I guess, hehe~ But anyway, I played all the games from FE2 (Gaiden, NES) to FE13 (Awakening, 3DS) and really enjoyed them a lot. My favorite is FE4 (Genealogy), though I also really liked FE5 (Thracia), FE8 (Sacred Stones), FE10 (Radiant Dawn), and FE13 (Awakening) a lot too. My #1 favorite video game character is actually a FE7 character named Lloyd Reed. Hmmm... I think my biggest problem is that I'm not really sure how to approach at the beginning. At the moment I just pair up the units I usually have paired up then try and bait the enemies I want to attack without charging too far in... although a lot of the time this doesn't work (at least not for the first few times I try each mission). I'd just like a strategy that works for most missions, I think, because I feel like I am having to work one out for every single mission individually! Pair Up is super awesome, but I would advise you to mix up your pairings around instead of using the exact same pairings every single time. There's no limit to how many non-S-rank supports that a person can get, so you'll want to generate as many support levels as you can instead of simply restricting yourself to fixed pairs that only abuse a single S-rank each. Mixing up your Pair Ups also enhances the versatility of your army e.g. if you're in a map with a lot of axemen, you can alter your pairs to have more swordies active. With respect to Pair Up and supports, try to make sure all of your Pair Ups can support each other, since they won't gain support levels otherwise (but they would still get Level 0 Pair Up boosts). Also, do be careful about unlocking S-ranks, because each character can have maximum one S-rank, and your S-rank pairs will end up having a more significant gameplay impact later on. Also, it would help if you told us which mode you're playing (difficulty + casual/classic?) and on which units you decided to focus on. It's generally not a good idea to train every single person you get because you can only bring a limited amount of units per battle, so it would be better to focus most of the EXP gain on the units that you really want to use. But in general, I found that simply Pairing Up and keeping your army close together as they advance as a group to take down everything in their path works very well in clearing missions easily.
