Good afternoon.
I'm trying to raise money for the Child's Play Charity all March long by doing an "endurance" event (inspired by 5k races) where I'm playing Touhou multiple times each night, streaming it, and asking friends/family to pledge either a set dollar amount or an amount based on total runs/bosses/whatever.
Child's Play gives toys, movies and video games to children in hospitals. I spent a lot of my teens in the hospital, and having these things as escapes was important to me, so I want to help others have that same comfort.
However, with the help of a member of this site Yatsuzume, I'm now also attempting to organize a 1 day Super Marathon, and I would like to ask for the help of anyone who might be willing to join in. Since the event is called Perfect Charity Blossom, having it March 20th makes sense. Helping out is easy, just play a bunch of Touhou that day, and ask for friends or viewers to donate (either based on how much you play, or just ask them to give a few $'s)
I hope this sounds like something people would be into. Every little bit helps. And if you can't join in, I understand. Just make sure to keep having fun playing Touhou.
How to do it:
There is a Perfect Charity Blossom event page on Child's Play already, and the goal is $700.
Please add a panel on your Twitch channel (click the 'Edit Panels' switch below the video on your dashboard, using this image:
and have it link here: donate.childsplaycharity.org/733508b6d72e530ba099214aa54d0d9a
That's all you need to do.
Then, just ask people if they will give $1 (or whatever you feel is fair) for each time you play Touhou. Or just ask them to give $5 or $10. Either way is fine.
If you don't use Twitch, then this Donation Widget might work better:
<script src="https://donate.childsplaycharity.org/js/widget.min.js" data-event="733508b6d72e530ba099214aa54d0d9a"></script>
I'm also working on a Tumblr Page where we can coordinate streams, add some extra info about Child's Play, and such. It's still under construction, but it'll be ready by the marathon. (Apologies to the admins, I didn't know I was going to make this yesterday).
