Second Eientei Popularity Poll has finally started!
Yes, that's right. If you felt like some of your favourite characters and songs were heavily underrated in the "official" popularity poll, then this is exactly what you've been waiting for... hopefully.
Our team of highly trained fairies have been working non-stop for the past weeks in order to make this poll the best possible! With that said, allow me to explain how the poll will work.
In contrast to last year's Eientei poll, this time around we're hosting two different types of poll: a character poll and a music poll!
- Character Poll
- Voters who wish to contribute to this category must send a PM with a list of 1 to 7 characters. Should the amount of characters go past 7, only the first 7 characters in your list will be counted.
- The first character on your list will get 2 Popularity Points, so be sure to place your utmost favorite at the top. Every character in that list will gain 1. You can't choose two number 1s, so choose wisely!
- Every character from the entire Touhou franchise is eligible to be voted, so choose freely! This is actually a lie, as two characters are banned from being able to be voted: Lily Black and Rin Satsuki due to both of them being non-canon characters. If a vote contains either or both of these characters, the vote will be put on the Wall of Shame™ and the character won't be counted for. (If it was a first place vote for one of those characters, the two points will go to the second character on the list.)
- Do keep in mind that votes submitted to a PC-98 version of a Windows character (Reimu, Marisa, Alice, Yuuka) will count as a votes towards the Windows version of that character.
- Music Poll
- Voters who wish to contribute to this category must send a PM with a list of 1 to 5 original, official songs from. Should the amount of songs go past 5, only the first 5 songs will be counted.
- Every song in the list will gain 1 Popularity Point, except for the first song which will get two points instead. Just like with the character poll, you can't choose two number 1s!
- You can vote for official arranges only. However, for the sake of simplifying the whole process, they will count as one point for the original version of the song.
- In regards to this previous rule:
- Love-Colored Magic (SoEW) will be considered a vote for Love-Colored Master Spark (IN).
- Adventures of the Lovestruck Tomboy (PoFV) will count as a vote for Tomboyish Girl in Love (EoSD).
- Every Last Spell theme are considered different songs in regards to their originals.
- All votes and questions in regards to voting must be sent to shadielth through either forum PM or Skype IM.
"WAIT WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" I can hear you all crying in unison right about now. Yes, there is a prize for the fortunate character that comes out first in the character poll.
The character in question will get an exclusive header that will replace the normal one as the default theme for a full month. After that month expires, the "Miss Popular" (we're all assuming Rinnosuke won't win this and if he does, we'll give him twin-tails) header will still be able to be chosen as a normal theme for your viewing pleasure.
Deadline
So as to continue the tradition that the poll last year started, the popularity poll will go on for two weeks. This means that the poll will end at March 2nd, 00:00 AM GMT!. Any votes that come in even a second late will be dismissed. No exceptions.
Results will be posted a few days after that date.
