Kokoro's Masks- Roleplaying Section
Rules and Guidelines
~o~
Kokoro's Masks stands out as a sub-forum with high amount of members' creative contents and freedom. In order to respect this freedom, players are strongly encouraged to be independent and manage themselves.
In order to fully enjoy the experience of roleplaying, whether you are planning to create your own Roleplay thread or participating, please always keep these rules in mind.
General Rules and Guidelines
✲ Outside the Roleplay
1. First and foremost, please abide to the forum-wide Code of Conduct. Treat fellow roleplayers and DMs with respect. Flaming, insults, taunts and other examples of hostile attacks on other members are forbidden.
2. The Dungeon Master (DM) of each Roleplay thread is the one responsible for maintaining it, including resolving conflicts. Players should follow any rules and guidelines set by the DM.
3. Roleplays of real people are strictly forbidden (such as public figures, celebrities or historical figures)
4. Roleplays must be in English.
5. The nature of the roleplay must not violate the Code of Conduct.
---> Roleplays of a sexual nature are strictly forbidden.
---> Roleplays with strong themes (violence, religion, etc.) should clearly state them in the intro. If you are not positive whether your theme fits in this category, please consult with the staff.
6. In the first post of the Roleplay thread, the respective Dungeon Master needs to write an intro explaining the concept of the story and their rules.
7. Try to be active if you start or join a Roleplay. Roleplays that are inactive for 2 weeks may be locked without warning; in this case the Dungeon Master will need to notify a staff member to have the thread unlocked.
---> Make an effort to not be reputed as 'Irresponsible Dungeon Master who always leaves roleplay threads inactive'. The right to host a Roleplay may be taken away from you.
---> Make an effort to not be reputed as 'Irresponsible Roleplayer who joins threads just to be inactive'. DMs may not accept you as a player of their respective RPs anymore if you do not actively participate.
8. When in doubt, ask the DM. In further doubt, ask a staff.

✲ Inside the Roleplay
1. Respect and follow the rules of your respective Roleplay, set by the respective DM. Discuss, instead of defy.
2. Be creative and interact with other characters. Get involved with the story and go with the flow. Discuss plot with other characters' players, instead of attempting to derail/change the plot in your favor.
---> If you join a Roleplay significantly after it has started, try to get involved in the plot and meet other characters. Do not expect to have actions spoonfed to you.
---> Even if you are not the protagonist of a Roleplay, you can still play a big role and make a big difference. The opportunities in a Roleplay are immense!
3. Do not be worried about not having enough writing talent, or not being fluent in English. Do your best, attempt to improve yourself, and seek assistance if necessary!
4. Avoid bad roleplaying etiquettes such as powerplaying, godmoding, metagaming, etc. For more information, please refer to this picture.
5. Roleplaying is in the end, 'playing'. Have fun, stay civil and have fun.
Members who violate rules will be penalized according to the forum's Code of Conduct.
On behalf of the staff, thank you for following the rules and good luck on your quests!
