I'm curious. What are the headcanons of your favorite characters and/or characters you find interesting? Here's mine for Sanae: Sanae Kochiya: Shrine maiden of the Moriya Shrine on the Youkai Mountain. Very loyal and dependent on her goddesses, Kanako Yasaka and Suwako Moriya, whom raised her since she was a baby as if she was their own child. Softspoken, naive, and even somewhat shy at times...of course, when the topic of giant robots, anime, manga, science, or other nerdy topics aren't involved. Then she's very energetic, eager, and quite expressive. Same scenario when it comes to doing things at the request of her goddesses, such as solving incidents and youkai extermination. When she spends time in the Human Village with the intent of gathering faith, she does her best to provide her audience with a strong and confident tone in order to firmly represent her shrine. The results are always admirable. As for her backstory (as in, before she moved to Gensokyo), this story that I wrote about her during Eientei's first WriCom pretty much sums up my thoughts: eientei.boards.net/post/32772I plan on going back to it and expanding more, but I need to find some time for that. I'm pretty happy with how the piece turned out regardless since the intended length is meant to be short. |

I always like thinking of Reimu and Sanae's relationship as kinda learning about one another's worlds from the other. Ie Sanae tells Reimu stories about her time outside Gensokyo, while Reimu helps Sanae adjust after she came over.
Also insert comment about Yukari being the god of the Hakurei shrine here

I imagine Marisa would help out Sanae more than Reimu, though, when it comes to adjusting to Gensokyo life. Besides, why are you eight years in the past.

Anyway...
I have a headcanon about Marisa and Mima.
Basically, Mima is Marisa's mom. One day, Mima was killed, and in her death she cursed humanity. This is why she holds the knife in HRtP, that's the weapon that killed her. It is unknown. Marisa's father fell into depression and began to neglect Marisa. Marisa did not want to put up with the neglect any longer, so she left home. Mima saw her beloved daughter and decided to possess her, she felt that this was her only opportunity to pass her heritage to Marisa while she's still attached to this world. Marisa would eventually be released from her possession (see why her hair isn't red anymore), but this time Mima would still try to teach Marisa skills although this time more indirectly.
Who killed Mima though? It might have been her own husband, Mima might have been killed by a youkai, maybe she was killed by accident. Only the knife knows.
