Read all about the colorful autism spectrum here. I'm part of the spectrum, and I know many (most?) people here are on the spectrum too! How does autism influence your gaming? Your interests? The way you interact? They say scoring is pure autism and that might be why it's so painstakingly precise and beautiful. I score. People score. Scoring is part of my identity, hence my low self-esteem. But I keep trying at it and I improve as a person, and that's a lovely part of this existential panic we call life! Do you score? I actually have the diagnosis. It makes things awkward with a lot of people and I got picked on and ostracized a lot in school and still do in web circles and whatnot, but tbf a lot of people are ok with how I act and even know full well I have it but still treat me like a person and a friend and are probably better people to be around than those that feel the need to pick at people, so there's not really much of a loss anyways.
I tend to be obsessive over gaming and whatnot but I honestly couldn't care less about ingame points so I'm probably the worst gamer ever.

Can I have a hug too? I miss social cues all the time and I can't read faces or intonation very well, and I love to get really obsessive over games and puzzles, especially scoring points in danmaku games. I'm also a pretty awkward person but people tend to like me anyway (not everyone, obviously) because I try to be a decent, fun, cool person, and it's much easier now that I'm an adult and not being gossiped about all the time by peers~ Autism made my mental development slow and consequently I had a harder time growing up. All in all, though, being autistic is just a part of my being and it isn't bad, just a little different. People who shame autism should be smacked with a large trout, or any other substitute you wish!

Hugs aren't a bad thing, as long as it doesn't turn into a hug *box,* if you know what I mean. Hug boxes can get pretty exclusive and drama-heavy and who needs that. So... I will answer with a *shrug*

Autism is something I have, too.
Especially this part. My autism also gets in the way of proper emotional management, which makes me do... nasty things. As I also lack a conversational filter, I tend to speak my mind when I should - last time I did this in this forum I got a well-deserved warning.
Unfortunately autism isn't the only thing I have.
Because I also grew to be depressed, I don't end up obsessing to the usual extent of a typical autistic person...
"Video games piss me off, so I'm gonna try to find something else to distract myself with-- oh look, video games~"
Silliness aside, do you understand how hard it is to concile two conflicting things?
You know, I really wish certain people in this forum would bother actually reading up on the condition instead of sitting back and letting loose with nonsensical observations peppered with offensively blunt statements.

Anyway, depression and ASD are rather fascinating. It'd be pleasant if more people bothered to educate themselves on it, but oh well.

I have autism, but its a different one.
Aspergers Syndrome is an autism in which you can't communicate well.
I also have Dermitillomania, somewhat of a disorder in which I can't stop picking my skin.
This can commonly be found as an OCD symptom, but I don't have that. I just have the disorder itself.
