Pokemon! A series beloved by many, including yours truly. I saw Shadie's EO3 SSLP, and that ignited a spark within me. "I want to do a Let's Play, too", I said. So, here we are. The game we'll be doing is, as you can see by the title, Pokemon Liquid Crystal, a hack of Pokemon Fire Red that is essentially a remake of Pokemon Crystal. Now, this LP will be in the same format as Shadie's in an SSLP format. However, I still will be posting videos here for important battles, like Gym Leaders or Elite Four. Most of the adventure will be told in screenshots though. This LP will also be a Nuzlocke. For those of you who don't know what that is, you should feel ashamed. Just kidding, but in case you don't know the rules. here they are.
I will be nicknaming all of the Pokemon I catch. They will be either nicknamed after Eientei forum members, or Touhou characters. Now, enough of the intro! Let's get this show on the road!
The creators of this fine hack, LinkandZelda.
The game has a beautiful title screen. It's animated, too! Well, no use dwelling on the title. Let's begin!
Blah blah blah, explaining the controls, booooooring. I'm gonna skip past this.
"99% complete remake." What about that 1%? :v
What, you can't tell by looking at me?
A boy, of course. (Also, this sprite is really nice)
Let's see, what shall my name be....
Face it, you saw this coming.
Insert cheering sound
No.
Yep. (I didn't put this information in, it filled itself in automatically.)
For what? It's a freaking Sunday.
Who the hell sleeps with their face flat on the pillow. Well, whatever. Our adventure begins here, in this small, quaint room. A computer, an NES, TV, bed, and a small table. Not bad, for a kid's room.
Don't forget your free potion in the PC.
There it is! (How does he take it out? Does he have a 3D printer or something? Or does it just magically materialize before his eyes?
So we go downstairs, and our mom gives us a Pokegear, which is Pokemon talk for a cell phone.
We start off in this small, cozy little town. New Bark Town. Three houses, (Including yours), A lab, Route 29 on the left, and a body of water on the right.
Also, there's an asshole redhead who's spying on the professor.
And he shoves you away if you try and talk to him. Dick. Well, whatever. Let's go inside the lab and talk to the professor himself.
Oh, okay. Give a random kid you just met a Pokemon. Well, I'm not complaining. Give it, old man!
Uh, Professor? The screen is off....
Hmm, I see. He sounds like my acquaintances, Mr. Animal and Mr. Fish!
*BEEP BEEP! SARCASM DETECTED!*
You have a fucking lab aide. Why me!?
Okay, whatever. Why do I imagine him shouting whenever there's a capitalized word? Anyway, now it truly begins. We choose our starter Pokemon.
The standard, Water, Grass, Fire. Now, this is where you come in. You all choose the starter I get. Put your choice below! I'll be posting the next part when enough people vote. See you next time!
Rule #1
You can only capture the first Pokémon you encounter in each new area you explore.
Rule #2
If one of your Pokémon faints, you must release it. It is dead.
Rule #3 (not technically an official rule, but widely encouraged)
You must nickname everything.
