Minako's Boss Theme Reviewing Area~

The first proper boss theme in Touhou (I believe). It's fast paced and probably gets you ready for more of HRtP (I've never played HRtP lol). Anyway, this theme is pretty fast paced, which is cool as I generally like fast paced themes. I also think the name is fitting, but mainly in terms of SinGyoku as a character, I also think the theme somewhat fits SinGyoku, although I don't know much about them except they're a gatekeeper. But I'm not reviewing characters, I'm reviewing themes. I think I prefer the original to the Akyuu version, it just sounds more epic in my opinion, although both are fast paced, as I mentioned before which I like in MOST (but not all) cases. It's just that the original seems... better, even with the instruments. The theme is pretty short as well, but apparently SinGyoku's battle is short as well. Overall, I like this theme! Not my favourite from HRtP but I think it gets the game going pretty well as the first boss theme and the first boss theme ever!

Whoa. I swear the latter part sounds REALLY similar to Dream Battle, maybe that inspired it? Both are really great themes. Anyway, I really like this theme, it's really catchy and badass. Sometimes I find myself singing the latter part. I think it's better than Angel's Legend and the Positive and the Negative because it is more badass and catchy. They're all pretty fast paced though (although Magic Mirror isn't as fast paced until the latter part). I actually prefer the Akyuu version of this theme, it's mainly because I prefer the introduction in the Akyuu version than in the original. I like the original too though, it's still awesome. It just doesn't click with me as much. I don't know how much it fits Elis or Kikuri as I barely know anything about them (I should know more, lol). I also don't really get why the theme is called 'Magic Mirror' but that doesn't really matter in my opinion. Overall, this is an amazing theme. It's just so good and a great theme to listen to! I love it a lot and if anyone wants to here some PC98 themes, this is one I would recommend to them for sure.

Ehhh? What do you mean it's not over? I thought I defeated her! Well no, Sariel is back with another theme! But is it better? Ehh, not really in my opinion. Her actual theme is much better in my opinion. But this theme isn't bad! Oh no! It's pretty good, especially the beginning. The beginning is pretty awesome, the latter part not so much, but it isn't bad by any means. I think it does a good job of making you even more anxious if you're going to beat Sariel or not. Although I don't think the middle section (the slightly slower bit) does as much, but then it gets back on track to the cooler section. I better get on track too. I prefer the original version, it just sounds better in my opinion, just something makes it sound more epic and more like a revival. I'm not sure how long Sariel's revival lasts for, so I can't really judge that, the theme itself isn't too long though, but it makes sense to me why it doesn't seem too long. Overall, I think this theme is okay, I like the beginning quite a lot. I think it pales in comparison to Sariel's actual theme, but most revivals do (in my opinion).

Ohhh, new game and new themes! Exciting! Onto this theme, it's mediocre. It sounds okay to me, but I don't find anything particularly good about it, it's just... okay I guess. I know it's only a stage 1 boss theme, but they can be epic too! I can give at least 3 examples of epic stage 1 themes! The theme is also pretty short, it makes sense for a stage one boss I suppose, as the battles don't usually last very long. The name is probably that because Rika is angry at Reimu and Genji, somehow. I don't really have much to say about this theme to be completely honest, there just isn't anything particular to mention or bring up about it, except that Rika has two themes, that it's pretty short it isn't the worst theme I've listened to ever. It also can get a little boring after a while because it's short and will just keep repeating too. Overall, this theme is mediocre. It's kind of boring if I listen to it for too long. There isn't much going for it, but that doesn't really make it too bad by any means, it is just mediocre. Even for a stage 1 theme...

Ehhhhh? Five Magic Stones? What the hell? STONES? And Reimu feared them? These must have been some scary stones! Anyway, if I thought Power of Darkness was repetitive, then what does that make this? It's the same thing OVER AND OVER AGAIN ARGHHHHHH. What is it with this game and repetitive themes? They get soooooo boring unless the repetition is done right, which in this case it isn't. Literally the only things I like this theme are the secondary sounds and the fast-pace of it. It's just annoying and really boring. I just don't like it! Honestly, the next two stages (three including the extra stage) better have something epic or I might as well slam my head against the table because the music has either been mediocre (She's in a Temper) starts good but then is bad (Power of Darkness) or just plain crap (this theme). Overall, I don't like this theme. I can sense TWO good things about this theme, and that means it is in trouble. It's the same thing OVER AND OVER AGAIN. At least Power of Darkness has that cool introduction to make up for it, but this doesn't. I don't like this theme. It's bad, in my opinion. But if you like this theme, that's fine, I won't hate you for it, that's totally cool if you do like it, or can tolerate it. I just don't like it.

Whoa. Epicness to the max as we reach the final boss! My God, this theme is SO GOOD. I love it so much! It's really fast paced and catchy! At one part, it's slower as well, which adds some more variety to the theme, I'm not as fond on this part, but I still like it. My favourite part is certainly the beginning, it's really awesome! This theme is really good and it's a shame most other piece in this game aren't that good (Besides from Marisa's theme and some of the stage themes). I feel it is a little short though, maybe that's just me thinking it's short when it's not. I should also mention that this is my favourite PC98 theme, hands down. Although, a couple of themes want to take it's crown xD. I think it's an improvement on the previous 2 final boss themes, as I just find it more fast-paced and cool than them, although they're neat too. Overall, I love this theme a lot, especially the beginning. It fits Mima more than her other them, in my opinion. As well as that, it's VERY epic and fast paced. I love it and will the future boss themes be even more epic than this?
