Now that we know how much touhou you play, the question is, how do you use that time? Do you only play full credits, or do you prefer to analyse the game thoroughly first?
When I learn a new category, I'll spend all of my time in practice to make sure I'm consistent at everything before I start. After that, I like to spend about 70% of my time on attempts and only 30% on practice. I find attempts a lot more fun than practice, so I'll only practice something if I really need to, such as in the endgame which I almost never reach in attempts.

I practice quite a lot relatively speaking. It's necessary if you don't want to be a pathetic loser xD - However, while the amount of time i spend practicing is good, the amount of focus with which i do it is not very good and so, the results aren't as pronounced as they could've been with more focus, hence essentially meaning that I get to stay a pathetic loser despite the practice. However, for the time being the practice does help with practicing my general skillset and I do notice increasing skills, just in short increments in a lot of different titles rather than becoming good at just one.
I chalk it up to a lazy next-generation variety craving pseudo-scrub approach but mouse-deprived man doesn't the fuck care. Now excuse me while I go play something highly hypocritical.

Way fucking less than I should. UFO hard is walling me right now, but I'm not practicing as much as I should (partly because I get bored easily playing UFO, but still, I barely play the damn thing ;-  |
