At the World Dessert Fair, one stand is devoted entirely to chocolate, as the best of all desserts. Yet hidden among the chocolates are other desserts, misplaced there for some devious cause, perhaps to deceive people away from recognizing the superiority of chocolate, perhaps even poisoned. Your job is to prove yourself as true and delicious chocolate, and identify the pretenders before they eliminate chocolate from the world!
Welcome to the signups for Chocolate Mafia, hosted by Proto and Kay.
This is a Mafia game, that is mainly designed for beginners who have little to no experience with Mafia games, though veterans are still welcome to join.
If you don't know how to play Mafia, please check the spoiler below. Feel free to contact the hosts for further questions.

✲ Guide
- Players are divided into two factions: the Town and the Mafia. Each faction wins when the other faction is completely eliminated.
- The vast majority of the players (~75%) are aligned with Town, but they are not aware of who their fellow Townies are. The Mafia are the minority (~25%), but they know who is aligned with them. The Mafia can also communicate with each other privately in a group PM.
- The game alternates between Day Phases and Night Phases in a continuous cycle. Despite their name, each phase will last for at least 24 hours.
- During the Day Phase, all players are free to post in the game thread. Furthermore, each player is allowed to publicly vote for another player to be lynched. At the end of the Day Phase, whichever player has the most votes on them will be lynched and he/she will be eliminated from the game.
- During the Night Phase, the Mafia can choose to kill a player of their choice. Furthermore, most of the special abilities that players possess based on their roles (see the next point) are to be performed during the Night Phase.
- Every player is also granted a role (in addition to alignment). The role may grant them abilities that can be either active or passive. Active abilities enable the player to perform actions during the Day or Night, usually the latter. For example, a "Cop" can investigate another player to determine their alignment. Passive abilities are special characteristics that are always enabled. For example, a "Doublevoter" will have their vote doubled in weight (i.e. it counts as two votes instead of one). Players with the role "Vanilla" have no abilities of any sort. Some common roles can be found here: wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Category:Roles_Main_Page
- Player deaths are announced at the end of the phase they die on. Their alignment and role will also be revealed. Dead players cannot contribute to the game anymore. This also means they can't post anything game-relevant in the thread or to anyone else.
- Some games may also have players that are not aligned with either the Town or Mafia. These players have their own victory conditions that may or may not conflict with the Town's or the Mafia's objectives. For example, a Self-Aligned Serial Killer may win only when they are the last one alive, so neither Town nor Mafia can win until the Serial Killer is eliminated. On the other hand, a Self-Aligned Survivor only needs to survive till the end of the game and can win alongside either the Town or the Mafia.
Basically, the Town and Mafia want to kill each other. Since Townies carry the majority of the votes, they are expected to utilize lynches as the primary method of eliminating the Mafia. But the Mafia can also talk and vote in the thread and would therefore try to blend in with the Town. Mafia will utilize their factional nightkill and try to influence lynches to whittle down the Town numbers. All players would try to utilize their abilities for their faction's benefit.

✲ Rules for this specific game:
- This game is NOC (No Outside Contact) i.e. no talking to each other outside the game thread unless you are specifically allowed to do so. Avoid talking about the game to people who aren't playing as well, since they may sub in for another player later.
- No Night Talk i.e. no talking in the game thread during Night Phases.
- Quoting anything from your role PM is not allowed. Paraphrasing is permitted, however.
- No sharing screenshots of anything outside of the thread that is related to the game, such as your role PM.
- No editing your posts. You may double-post to correct any mistakes if you wish.
- No talking after you die. This includes talking to other dead players. Non-informative posts (generic death quote, "Good Luck", etc) are fine, but please keep them to a minimum.
- If you foresee yourself being inactive for a period of time, please inform the hosts beforehand. You may be prodded if you are inactive for 24 hours or more without prior notification. Too many prods may result in your slot being forcibly subbed out by another player. You may be modkilled if subs are not available.
- The game starts on Night 0. Night 0 will work like normal night phases except killing abilities will be disabled. Day Phases will last for 48 hours, and Night Phases will last for 24 hours. Phase end times will be posted at the start of each phase. Extensions may be requested.
- Votes are to be made in the format "##Vote: PlayerName". Unvoting is to be done in the format "##Unvote: PlayerName". The ## and bold format are required.
- Day Phases end early if a player gains over half of all the possible votes (combined vote weight for all players). They will be lynched as soon as a host sees it. This is referred to as "hammer".
- Players may vote for "No Lynch", which results in no players being lynched during hammer or phase end.
- Night Phases end early if all players have submitted their night actions and have been online on Eientei at least once since the start of the phase. If you do not wish to perform an action despite being able to, please inform the host that you are idling.
- The hosts' words will override these rules. This includes aspects of your role PM that may contradict the rules. Also, this means you shouldn't try to abuse loopholes either (but please point them out so we can adjust the rules accordingly).
- Don't break the rules. This may result in a modkill, depending on the situation.
- Play to win.
- No Night Talk i.e. no talking in the game thread during Night Phases.
