Chapter 32: Completed in 4 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 125 turns total with 32 WP bonuses. | Game 2: 55 turns total with 17 WP bonuses.) This chapter was a little tricky, but not unmanageable. I deployed like so. The first order of business was making sure Luna takes this hit to the face. Meiling and Sakuya weaken the lower left large ghost so that Shou can Luck kill it. Alice and Aya weaken the lower right large ghost so that Aya can counterkill it with Cheer on the EP, while Nitori and Cirno take out the ghost blocking Marisa's path forward. Kou was Tailwinded for this, but honestly, I had nothing better to use that one on anyway. I believe it was better overall for Dai to reach naturally and Kou to take the boost. I unequipped all of Dai's dodge items so that Luna could take both hits here. Since she has HP Regen small, she needs the extra damage so we can keep healing her, one hit is just not enough (even after removing all her Oni items). This is slightly an issue because she can't fight back without killing the fairy (she gets shit for XP being so overlevelled), so she needs to be hit on a 20% evade chance, because a 40% guard chance didn't do enough damage, IIRC. Reimu Luck kills the large ghost Marisa whacked (not explicitly pictured, but you can see it in the Luna abuse pics) while Cirno kills the pc98 ghost she weakened last turn. Meiling and Nitori weakened this large ghost for another Shou Luck kill. Assailed Killer Dolls cleans up the left hand sunflower fairy. Stardust Reverie, from 2 squares north of it kills the center sunflower fairy, positioning Marisa to Narrow Spark counter Youmu. Dai heals Luna before she moves, Koa refuels her after. (Not pictured) Aya accels up and works on the right hand sunflower, she'll finish the job on the counter. Meiling needs to crit this ghost or else its danmaku will keep her from reaching her final kill (she was 1 Will short of having finisher access which would have made this a nonissue). She has been Cheered for it too, for good measure. This is the fairy I didn't want Luna killing earlier, but I'm okay with letting Dai take it after it's been whittled down to the level where she can handle it. The Youmu counter I was advertising earlier. Start of turn 3, things are about to begin getting real, but first is kind of a lull, with Meiling repositioning, and Dai milking Luna a little more... (that sounds like it is probably the plot of a bad doujin...) Nitori positions south of Marisa for a Sniped Exteeending Arm with support Master Spark. Alice is tailwinded to reach the north of Marisa for a Master Spark supported Artful Sacrifice (crit). Between the three of them, they've gummed Youmu to the level that Reimu can collect a Lucked Cheered Persuasion Needles finish (there was enough damage even without the Alice crit, but only barely). Fairies, etc. advance, Luna gets refueled by Koa, and we collect the WP for reaching the line with (more than) half our members. Assailed Killer Doll crit at questionable accuracy levels. At least it's not Aya level bullshit. This was probably Danmaku Power boosted. Shou and Aya crit kill the empowered hairballs, and easily wipe the floor with the fairies. Silly Youmu, you're not even slashing any yojana with that... but if it stops you from advancing and mussing up my formation, more power to you. Turn 4, Meiling just reaches that ghost I ignored earlier in my mad dash forward. I specifically ordered Sunny not to counter this ghost so that Luna could get abused by it on the player phase. Star cleans up with Koa's help. Luna had to retreat one square southward when she attacked so that Dai could reach. It's all good because the three fairies are still in a joinable formation. Alice spawns some Shanghais and starts to work. Honestly, even being a little more buff than Hourais they're still just support attack enablers, but you knew that already. It's enough to let Shou get a Luck Cheered finish, though. She didn't even need the Shanghai support (maybe if the first one had missed, Youmu's PrevailS ranks are more potent than you'd initially think). Valored Assailed Perfect Freeze is reason enough to draft Cirno. Well, Kou is reason enough, but if you needed more reasons, here's one. Aya with Reimu support. It's important that Youmu doesn't Parry Reimu's attacks, which are almost all strike based (sigh, Reimu why you gotta do this girl). Reimu with Shanghai support (the same one that offered to help Shou). That's enough damage that the 3 Fairies with Kappa support can clean up a Gained Blessed finish. Star learns Luck, which may cut down on future Cheering activities, circumstances depending. Shanghai gives up on attacking and decides to bomb. I believe it was to clear the danmaku effect, which prevents supports from working, but I cannot swear to it. Koa refuels Reimu, because Luna is stuck inside the 3 Fairies and can't be reached for comment. Kappa with Narrow Spark support (conserving EN because Koa's spirits can only do so much). Alice with Master Spark + Sakuya on her own. Gained Blessed Danmaku Powered Master Spark doesn't even need Valor. That was a pretty nice chapter. The lineup. Chapter 33: Completed in 5 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 130 turns total with 33 WP bonuses. | Game 2: 60 turns total with 18 WP bonuses.) Our lineup for the PCB finale. After last chapter, you expect this. Hopefully Luna's an M. We finish a few of the starting ghosts. (I couldn't afford to Tailwind Dai/Koa this time, so they're not reaching Luna until next turn.) Star isn't a bad consolation, though. One shot, one kill. Youmu and Cirno weakened it for Shou's Luck. Alice and Nitori weakened it for Sakuya. Maybe I should have left it alive for Reimu to turn 2 luck, but I didn't want to chance it spawning danmaku. Also, this lets Marisa head straight north and wound the large ghost instead of having to juke left and not do anything really productive with her player phase. I have no regrets. Aya gets some more Will and Marisa powers forward, as I mentioned just above. That's the end of turn 1. The EP is pretty messy, and if it doesn't go right, Turn 2 won't work. If Marisa doesn't get hit, some enemies that need to die on her to max her Will will instead go for the fairies. Also, sometime Sakuya gets a kill which helps, sometimes she doesn't, which makes things very, very tight. I should have cast Strike on Meiling so she didn't miss a 77% Colorful Rain, but that mistake was recoverable (barely). All that said, the Yuyuko counter is simple enough, and it's important to note that she acts first, unlike most bosses. Now that I think of it, if I hadn't accidentally given Luna Tipsy, she would have fallen short of the required damage to kill a ghost with S Formation, and I wouldn't have been able to pull this off with Meiling missing, unless Sakuya got a kill. ...Like I said, things are tight and any number of things could go wrong and wreck a run. The worst part is you won't know for sure if it's wrecked until you reach the point where a card you know you can kill doesn't die. (I gave her Tipsy so they could still have the Will to S Formation after refueling her Turn 1, which ended up not being a thing because tactical positioning didn't allow for it, but then I was too lazy to go back to my base save and reapply all the other upgrades that needed to be given.) What a waste of Luck. Though not casting it at all would be even more a waste. Youmu lets Meiling pick this up. I guess I've spoiled which characters are getting Yuyuko finishes haven't I? Dai can't afford to cast Trust, so it's nice that Luna can. Koa has to cast pretty early, which is a shame, because Marisa will get pretty low, but it doesn't really matter. Things work out even the one time I forgot to cast. I believe Star needed to clear the danmaku so Sunny could advance. It lets Dai reach as well. (Koa could without, but that's expected.) 3 Fairies have to kill this, the danmaku are a pain, and even if Marisa had double crit the ghost it would have like, 54 hp. Artful Sacrifice crit + Master Spark into Illusionary Dominance crit secures the nonspell. Sniped Exteeending Arm + Master Spark into a 1 range Stardust Reverie (surprised you there I bet) weakens things up quite a bit. Sakuya... barely seals the deal with a crit Killer Dolls. This is exactly what I was talking about how if EP1 went slightly wrong, things got all sorts of fucked. Two lifebars dealt with by the end of Turn 2, we're on pace to finish. Sadly, Nitori lacks the range to counter without Snipe active, or her FA's Pororokka. (But FA's Exteeending Arm isn't long enough when Sniped so damned if you do, damned if you don't, not to mention the move and item slot loss.) Nitori hilariously ends up protecting Sakuya from one of the spawned spirits, I guess it gives her more Will, but it was hardly necessary. The 3 Fairies getting hit, however, I can't afford to go without, because I revel in Luna's pain. Start of Turn 3, Dai burns SP recovery items, allowing her to make it painfully obvious I'll be giving Marisa a kill somewhere down the line. Star only has enough Cheer for Shou, so Reimu will sadly have to go without. Star kills this large ghost, Dai heals Luna. Koa gives Marisa all the MP she can, then refuels Luna. Meiling finishes this large ghost with a crit (Aya had wounded it on EP). Cirno does her thing with Shanghai help. Seeing her take 0 damage from bosses always makes me chuckle (though Grit was involved this time, so it's hardly fair.) Shaghai + Alice crit into Shou + Alice, with either of them critting will seal the deal. Then we have Alice crit + Shanghai then Shanghai + Sniped Monster Cucumber (Nitori used healing item to get her health back. She was actually outside of the healing reducing danmaku this time, as apparently the secondary center varies slightly based on positional differences, Meiling was not in the same location as she'd been in in a previous run, which is why I'd double-stocked recovery items on her loadout.) Then we have Sniped Monster Cucumber + Killer Dolls crit. Which is followed by a Tailwinded Sunny bomb. Allowing Reimu to finally finish the card. Because she's an immense fucker, Yuyuko retreats three spaces after this, but luckily forewarned is forearmed and I was prepared. Assailed Killer Dolls + Master Spark into Tengu's Wind + Master Spark. Lets the Valored Master Spark take her to task. Being a supreme dick, I move Luna into the Resurrection Butterfly's map range. Sakuya was hit, Sunny was crit, Alice was hit, and Luna was hit, the rest dodged or grazed. Well, except for one Shanghai that was crit to death. RIP Shanghai. Youmu lured this ghost north, and weakly countered it, as I intend to feed it to Meiling. We position Luna just south of the field, heal her, and have Koa refuel her from inside the field. Literally everyone else is either out of the field or in a safespot. Turn 5, Luna moves, Koa refuels from outside the field (levelling up), and then Dai heals Koa. Tailwinded Alice grabs the final kill on that ghost we ignored all map. Sunny cast Alert, but everyone else is safe. (Luna dodged, I guess she was sick of being abused this chapter.) Capturing all cards was the easy WP, and the chapter was completely quite satisfactorily. Chapter 34: Completed in 7 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 137 turns total with 34 WP bonuses. | Game 2: 67 turns total with 19 WP bonuses.) I'm including more pictures than usual because it feels appropriate for a game's final chapter. I initially doubted a 7 turn was possible, but soon got close enough to really dig at how to do it. It didn't take too long before I prove that first suspicion false. We have enough Cost to deploy everyone again, but I didn't upgrade Momiji's weapons yet, because I figure she'll probably be on the bench a bunch in game 3, and it wasn't necessary for the clear. I did upgrade a lot of people's EN, even if it wasn't necessary, because on one of my first runs, before I started optimizing to try to cut that extra turn, I was running low all over the place. Shou was given a tick of SP Up so that with a Potato she could Luck 3 times, and it'll be refunded soon enough, so why not. (Similar argument with Momiji's Tipsy.) I do give Momiji a fair amount of kills throughout the chapter, but honestly, she uses them pretty well, due to being so far below the curve. Aya needs a crit here, but gets it. Meiling just beast modes all over. Cirno nabs another small ghost while it takes 3 people (at low Will/middle weapons) to take down a big ghost. Sakuya clears the last ghost from Marisa's path, while I probably made a slight mistake attacking the big ghost with Shou, it can't be killed on EP even with this damage, but I guess it doesn't much matter, any small ghost she would have killed would only have really boosted Star and Luna's Will (since they're still uncombined and can get gains, unlike if it died during the EP when they exist as Sunny's backup crew). With proper deploy position, the Tengu Wing, Unfocused Movement, and Accel, Marisa reaches prime real estate. Since Speedstar was unnecessary, we switched back to Danmaku Power L2, which was a super wise decision, as it will enable the 7 turn when we use it later. I might have been able to get away with supplying Luna for better XP, but I need to be able to use S Formation next turn, and if any of the fairies are below 105 Will that won't work, so I held off. Yukari gets countered. I could have scummed so Marisa would dodge, but I figured she'd live and the Will gain from getting hurt was worth the risk. I also counter Ran, but Chen is out of reach from here. Shou and Aya get some small ghost kills. Cirno gets one, and Shou gets two more from the 3 circling the bomb ghost. I gave Sunny Cirno's frog, so she could use Three Fairies against the two large ghosts. Amusingly enough, the trio was only hit by the small ghost that could reach them (which they killed). Positions at the start of turn 2. Meiling uses her finisher on the bomb ghost, securing us the first bomb of the chapter with her seriously wtf damage output. Momiji finishes this ghost so people get ambient will gains, she needs Star's support to get the job done. Sniped Exteeending Arm with Master Spark Support. (Mostly for Master Spark damage, Nitori's melee stat hasn't been buffed...) Aya casts Tailwind on Shou and Cirno before finishing Yukari's non. Plenty of damage to spare, considering it wasn't even a crit, but it did need to be Illusionary Dominance, the run where she didn't get a ghost kill on the EP and didn't have the Will to use it, I couldn't clear this hurdle. Bless/Luck count 1, Cheer/Gain count 1 Yukari's first spell's danmaku is actually in places more favorable to move through than her non. (The same holds for her second as well, actually.) Assailed, Valored, Ice Fairy, served up hot. Artful Sacrifice crit + Master Spark. Yukari's barrier is really doing a number on my damage output. Shou scraped by with this finish. Bless/Luck count 2, Cheer/Gain count 2 Black Butterfly is way less dense on the right side, Reimu needs to be on that side, and the Cirno on the left, if their positions were reversed (like my first attempt) things would fail here. First, Star kills the second bomb ghost, securing us the final ingredient we need to survive this turn. Sunny uses one of the bombs to destroy the one square of danmaku that was keeping Reimu from reaching (as well as a few bonus ones), it feels like a waste, but what can you do. Sakuya Assail Killer Dolls crits, for some needed damage. But honestly, the bulk of it comes from the Valored, Danmaku Powered (L2) Master Spark. I get my supporters to do their supporting. Then Reimu barely clears the hurdle that is the spellcard. Bless/Luck count 3, Cheer/Gain count 2 (Reimu has been shafted so often on Cheers lately, isn't it sad ;- Luna safety bombs the main force, so they're not all set to critical HP. Star can sometimes dodge (but didn't this time), Aya still had Alert up, but everyone else was hit. Reimu counters Goki. Aya counters Ran and Chen (getting unluckily hit by the former). She crit Ran though, so I grit my teeth and bore it. Shou gets the bomb from the strengthened hairball, while Meiling defeats the other, and Sakuya gets both ghosts. Believe it or not, but this is only the start of Turn 3. I start with my healers, because why not. I pummel Goki a little. Before giving the kill to Shou. Bless/Luck count 4, Cheer/Gain count 2 Then it's time to work on Zenki. The fairies take the finish. Bless/Luck count 5, Cheer/Gain count 3 Aya gambles on her ability to dodge Yukari and gives Ran a pounding. Even though Yukari's no longer nearby to regenerate her, Ran would still regenerate Chen if I don't take her out now. Shanghai missed, but that was oh well, no big deal. Reimu seals the deal (and the fox). Bless/Luck count 6, Cheer/Gain count 3 I give Alice a kill, because I've been neglecting levelling her a little. After Aya dodges Yukari, she also dodges Chen. She's already out of EN for her finisher, much spamming, no love from Koa, wow. This is /with/ 5 ticks of upgrade, a Grimoire, and E-Save, mind you. Aside from the one that attacked Momiji, I evade/dodged the others, to give the kills to people trying to level/hit 50. Start of Turn 4. It's kind of amusing actually having lots of things to do during a survival card, rather than the typical hunker down and heal up. Also, unlike Flan's, Yukari's has IFF, so there's that... Shou, Aya, and Momiji take three of the ghost kills I'd left behind, while Koa is busy milking Luna. Jokes aside, it really ends up helping this time around, as the trio form has been running through EN like nobody's business, and refilling them individually still contributes to refilling the combo. I gave the 3 Fairies the final ghost kill, because 3 times the PP earned sounds like a good deal, yaknow? Oh, also healing Koa, because delicious XP. Chen has a death-wish, charging to /one-range/ against Meiling. Luckily she was still relatively healthy, or she would have gone down like a sack of bricks. (Just like the last hairball did, the final generic enemy of the map.) I'm not complaining, though, as this allows Shou the opportunity I was hoping for. Bless/Luck count 7, Cheer/Gain count 3 I caved and gave Aya some much needed MP. Reimu gets some HP. (Note Koa is conveniently primed to take more damage on EP.) Boring turns now that everything is dead. Survival cards are silly, what do they prove? Fixer uppers fixing up. Prepared for Yukari's spawn. Nitori has her Guard up and Alice is on Alert. I drop a pair of bombs to negate the danmaku effect. I totally forgot to have Meiling drink her beer and use her finisher, but I have more damage than I need for two lifebars in one turn, so it's whatever. Fantasy Seal is as laughably weak as ever. ;-; Momiji did drink her Junmai Sake, though, meaning she could safely attack without dying, and surprisingly she packs a huge punch for all the neglect she's seen. This combination will almost never see use, as it's completely inconvenient. But hey, Shotgunned Youkai Buster Combo Attack is pretty good when you can get it. Too bad it can't be supported. I'd originally given Reimu the Potato so she could use Fury to bypass the barrier, but like I said, I have hella damage, so I just spent it on Focus for increased reliability. Cirno was just there for moral support. Bless/Luck count 8, Cheer/Gain count 4 We're in the final stretch, and need to use all our big guns or run the risk of timing out the spell, if I understand how it works correctly. Chapter 35: Completed in 2 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 139 turns total with 35 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 2 turns total with 1 WP bonus.) Chapter 36: Completed in 2 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 141 turns total with 36 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 4 turns total with 2 WP bonuses.) I team up everyone but Koa (who will earn way more XP by refueling. Dai is paired because there's usually no healing to do turn 1, and she'll make better use of PP than XP at this point.) Deployment positions are fairly self-explanatory, or will be soon. Aya/Meiling uses Supersonic, Accels, and positions herself in the middle of the top fairies, while whacking at Chen. Nitori/Reimu Luck kill a fairy because why not. I have Dai advance for better XP for Koa. Shou/Sakuya Luck kill a hairball, while parked pretty much directly over Rumia. The hairballs not within her 5 range (with the Butterfly Fan) were Scanned to provoke them, though maybe they would have moved just because of proximity. Marisa/Alice Accel forward to a position where all the red fairies (I would have called them green, because of their hair, but they're officially named 赤, so...) can reach them, killing one of them. Murasa advances, and our turn 1 is completed. Luna is countered, but the other two can't reach. (Even if Marisa was 1 to the NE, they'd lack the Will to access S formation, since the bosses move before all the mooks get killed.) Since Marisa cannot feasibly 1HKO all three fairies, not without access to her strongest attacks, even if she was Tailwinded into position, I have to settle for the 2 turn of the chapter. I'm honestly doubtful if Stardust Reverie at shotgun range would have enough power (not that shotgunning affects melee attacks anyway...) I deliberately keep Meiling from assisting, to avoid the KO here. Rumia is actually kind of bulky, I feel like Shou would have needed all the Will gains she gets from the hairballs to even 2HKO, but I didn't fully investigate. If Marisa was positioned one to the NE this fairy would suicide on her instead, and she doesn't really need it, whereas Murasa does. Start of Turn 2: Nothing remains but bosses. Aya actually casts Mercy, otherwise they'd obliterate Star. Honestly, I maybe should have given them the Bless and let her do it, that way she'd get Aced over the split, but I was feeling like Cirno needed a Cheered boss-kill to catch up some. No problem cleaning up Chen here. Akyuu's hateboner for the three fairies demanded sating. I instinctively cast Assail, forgetting she has a new post-move finisher, whoops! Koa can barely reach Marisa, for some nice fat XP. Valor is a wonderful thing. That gets me the WP for taking out the 3 Fairies on the same turn. I switched to Sakuya, just to be extra sure she went down. And that's a wrap. We take everyone's items from them, because I'm pretty sure they give us an intermission with them prior to throwing them into battle. Also, it turns out I badly need access to my whole arsenal to pull off some of my feats in future chapters. We lose about half our team to the split, unfortunately, but we're still strong enough to carry through. Chapter 37M: Completed in 3 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 144 turns total with 37 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 7 turns total with 3 WP bonuses.) The teams don't change a whole lot, Nitori takes Meiling, because she's not a great tank, so having one in her pocket helps. Meiling just appreciates being carried by anyone with higher move than she has. I have Luna and Star paired because whynot. Since Koa still needs to level, she's running solo, which leaves Sakuya without a partner. Such is life. Anyway, we take the obvious deployment spots, closest to the action. Star needs to be outside to cast her Mystic Memory discounted spirits, and Luna wants to be on top so Koa can refuel her. Wriggle becomes aggressive after a Scanning, so don't forget to do so. It makes a 3 turn significantly easier, maybe even just possible in general. Sakuya contributes nothing besides ambient Will gains to this clear, simply mopping up the upper-right. Nitori wounded her kappa brethren so the Fairies could nab a Luck kill. Marisa wounds this fairy (so they, mostly Alice, can get both damage and kill XP when it suicides on the EP) and then I'm out of units. Sakuya needs one critical, and then she's up and rolling, though she does need to blow through some Worlds on generics, for reliability sake. That goes to show how much it's expected you carry around a backliner. Turn 2, she Assail Killer Dolls the top bat, because they don't aggro outside of their range, apparently. Shanghai needs to kill this danmaku fairy, mostly with Marisa's support, so people can get where they need to go. It's a bit of a waste of PP, but alas. The 3 Fairies disengage so that Luna can be refueled, Star can cast Luck, etc. Luna/Star also re-position themselves to be above Sunny, which will come in handy later. A repeat performance of Nitori wounds, fairies kill. After an Accel, Marisa/Alice pound away on Wriggle, critically. The lay of the land at the end of Turn 2. Wriggle apparently hates dolls, or just wants to avoid taking heavy counterattacks, so she advances and nearly kills Shanghai. That means I have to dodge anything else that comes for her. Marisa counterkills the last kappa for the WP. PC98 reinforcements arrive at the start of Turn 3. The fairies get a little love from Koa, but not too much, she still needs to refuel Luna/Star. Alice gets some too, because dolls are expensive. Mima takes out a fairy, Koa was there for moral support, before she leaves to get her XP. This is one of the two reasons I moved Luna/Star above Sunny last turn, as that's the far end of Koa's range with the danmaku in the way. Sakuya gets a Cheered (Kurumi) kill on a bat, as it's worth more than the hairball she could reach down south. Elly critkills a fairy that Yuuka wouldn't get. Luna squad takes out the nonspell. There were crits involved, but I don't know if they were necessary. What was necessary was being to the north of Sunny, as they are exactly 6 away from Wriggle there, and that's as far as S Formation can reach. Yuuka might be a bit of a sadist. Fury is needed to ignore distance penalties, allowing the furthest back fairy to take full damage and die. Strike is because once, the offscreen fairy dodged, and fuck that noise. I also waited until Wriggle spawned in her bugs for that little bit extra before doing the MAPster Spark. That's 5k points I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Thanks Murasa, for abandoning us for Reimu. That map attack also provided the +5 Will the Hourais needed to unlock their finisher, allowing them to one-shot bugs. The Shanghais also contributed, and the one from last turn even levels up! I didn't realize that was possible, mostly because I never sat and thought about it seriously. Team Marisa dishes out some serious pain, enough that Nitori team is free to get a Cheered (Kurumi) kill on a hairball instead of chipping at the boss. Kurumi also kills a bug, for points. I'm pretty sure Sunny didn't /need/ to nibble on Alice's cookie, but in the interest of putting up bigger numbers, she did. Easy enough chapter, all told. Too bad Suwako/Kanako weren't /forced/, per se, just getting added to the deployment options. The team's standings. Chapter 38M: Completed in 6 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 150 turns total with 38 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 13 turns total with 4 WP bonuses.) Chapter 38 is a bit of a doozy, you start off with just Lily and the Prismrivers, the WP condition is asinine, and Tewi is a giant twat. After Lily takes to the air and flies 1N then W, Merlin casts Spirit, and then sings for her fellows as they all move generally northward. Lily dodges the sunflower fairy's potshot and Turn 2 starts looking much like Turn 1, only with a little added danmaku fields, and 3 of the rightish fairies having moved north in pursuit of the concert. Lily has a very important job. Kill this rabbit inside Tewi's danmaku field before Marisa and company are due to attack her, because otherwise she'll get support defended even though they're not adjacent. A second dose of Merlin leaves all the Prismrivers with as much Will as they'll ever need for this chapter. The Prisms need to be far enough west that the sunflower fairy aims her danmaku north, instead of east, otherwise it will be trouble when... Our reinforcements arrive. The big team change-up is Luna and Star each going solo, for a very important reason. Sakuya goes with Mima because earning twice the gains for the same kills is better, right? The fact that one of the initial fairies is blocking a deploy square seems to be responsible for the unusual positioning, which we will take full advantage of. One other thing worth noting is that Nitori ditched her Full Armor getup for this chapter in favor of an extra equip slot and a slightly better Oshirasama bonus. Hairball reinforcements have spawned, so Lily has to try to balance doing her job with staying safe. It's a tough balance. She also can't accidentally lure anybody else into Tewi's field. I have the Prismrivers work on the Night Hairballs, netting a Luck kill. They're worth 3k original value, 6k Luck, so it's not a good value compared to the rabbits, but with the Prismrivers trying to stay clear of the general fight and avoid soaking up resources they don't deserve (as undrafted units), this is the best they'll get. Sakuya doesn't assist, for fear of actually killing the sunflower fairy. I still haven't upgraded Mima's weapons, too, because she'll leave halfway through, and if I can avoid needing to spend the cash, I will. Same reason Momiji's weapons aren't upgraded, really. Luna got an unnecessary crit, but it didn't mess up the feeding of the sunflower fairy into Star's Luck. They're still, outside of bosses, the most desirable candidates. Koa refuels Luna. Also, Luna and Star are deliberately aligned that way for a very specific purpose. More on that later. Some simple extermination here, nothing special. I don't attack here, because I have Luck cast, and want to counter the sunflower fairy, who thanks to the janky deploy situation, I am just barely in range of. Turn 3 enemy phase begins with Lily dodging Tewi and finishing her task. Nitori/Meiling pair deliberately leave this rabbit alive, and the 3 Fairies get their Luck kill as anticipated. Merlin defends against everything but the uninjured nightball up top. Lily usually takes more damage, but she had her A game on this time for dodging, which allows her to actually counter the last hairball, probably completely unnecessary in the long run. Almost all of the small fry have died, with Mima and the Fairies getting the brunt of the kills. I have no idea why they didn't pile up on Koa, but they don't seem to have any interest in her. Mima heads north to collect the kills the Prisms won't get. Star Luck kills the rabbit we left alive. They're a pretty good deal, but the sunflowers are still better. The Prisms get their second Luck kill in. After Daunting Tewi twice, they beat a hasty retreat toward Mima. Koa gives Lily some Devotion before refueling Luna. I also have Nitori use Faith on her, just to be safe. Luna uses the Combine command here, bringing the 3 Fairies to her location, and essentially providing a one-time +4 movement boost, which enables them to reach the boss this turn. Meanwhile on top of Danmaku Power L2, Marisa and Alice call forth every bit of offensive might they can get their hands on (don't forget Marisa's S rank in Land weapon rank thanks to the Suwako hat equip). First though, Meiling and Nitori are both benefiting from the additional crit rate and offensive stats that Belief (L1) gives them at this Will, and have decent enough rates to crit that the double crit doesn't take long. I had Sunny chow down on a Cookie for her crit rate, because otherwise it was kind of slim for my taste. Then, while her HP is still showing ? marks, Marisa's team arrive to positively ruin Tewi's day, despite her position on pretty solid defensive terrain. Also, do note, I had tried previously casting Scan to provoke her, but she didn't seem affected. Lily retreats here, while wounding a rabbit. Tewi will actually chase her down, so keeping as much distance as possible to keep the Graze damage down is ideal. Also, make sure not to position so that the rabbits can utilize their support attack if you can. Anyway, this attack actually triggers her Extend skill as she hits 150 Will, so her SP pool is refilled 20 of the 45 she'd used to Bless Marisa. This gives her enough SP for a second Bless later on. The start of the next turn. Sometimes Tewi's spellcard will lower your people's Will, but after a quickload, it often won't fire. I'm not sure what governs this, to be honest. Koa casts a couple Devotions as needed, then refuels Star, as she can't reach Luna. The fairies then reform and Luck/Gain on a regular rabbit. That's Star's final Luck, by the way, so Lily's last Bless will be the bosskill next turn. While I probably could clear this turn if I really tried, I'd lose out on the WP that way. Nitori casts Faith on Lily again. Mima has two enemies to deal with and two turns to do it in, not a problem even if they are hellbent on ignoring her and chasing the Prisms. We can't afford to ignore Tewi entirely, so Nitori/Meiling + Marisa beat her up a bit. Marisa then kills the last rabbit and Lily retreats again. This is what it looks like when Tewi's card actually does its thing. I don't reload because at this point, it doesn't matter if I lose Will from the top half, it's my bottom half people I really need solid. Turn 6, Star bombs so Koa can reach her and refuel for XP. What a frivolous use of a bomb. Nitori eats a Potato, giving her what she needs to Snipe the last hairball. As predicted, Mima finishes cleaning house on the right hand side. The bomb also made things a lot safer for one of my Shanghais to attack, so it wasn't a complete waste. It wasn't really necessary though, as I don't let Marisa assist here, because overkill. Chapter 39M: Completed in 6 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 156 turns total with 39 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 19 turns total with 5 WP bonuses.) Standard routesplit teams were interrupted by forced units, some of which were forced solo. As tempted as I was to put Koa with Patchy, it just ended up not being worth it in the end. The fairies are doing that line up thing they do again, though I guess it ended up not being 100% necessary, I kept it intact anyway. At 50 Will with no partner, even Marisa struggles to one-shot fairies (needs a crit), and that's saying something. So it's no surprise she needed help on the rabbit. Mima and Nitori prep their rabbits for EP counterdeaths, and that's the end of the phase. There are two bats and a sunflower fairy to the north as well, but everything else except dango rabbit is dead. Even if I kill every enemy this PP/engage the boss I cannot hasten the scripted events. So I am free to take my time. Unpacking Star, she's exactly 6 away from the sunflower, so Luck kills it. Then I pack her back up, cast another Luck and park 7 away from the other sunflower fairy. After a Koa refueling of course. Mima moves south of the western bat, I just let the other one move south with nobody in range to kill it, like I said, it's not a priority. Start of Turn 3 see Marisa shot down and needing the crash site be defended. The rabbits don't aggress, so the Evil Eyes are more of a concern. If one of the squares where Alice/Nitori/Patchy are stationed is already occupied, the forced units will be pushed a square to the left when they're forcibly relocated, but that didn't end up helping anything, so... Luna and Nitori (Snipe) take out the ones on the upper left, leaving some space for Patchy to park her butt later on without getting in the way/stealing kills. Sakuya Assails and blasts the dango rabbit badly, I adjust my fairy formation, refuel, and prepare to send them in. The boss will infinitely respawn until the scripted events finish at the start of PP5. This is a good opportunity to farm XP/PP/points. Patchy wounds a rabbit and H&As up near Koa. Mima is optimally positioned for killing Evils Eyes (and the bat) on the EP. The dango rabbit prefers to target Sakuya if able. The two lower left rabbits were wounded (Nitori on EP, Patches last PP). The Evil Eyes are healthy. Koa takes out the danmaku one (with Nitori support). She was out of range of anyone who'd give her worthwhile refueling XP anyway. That lets Nitori kill the other Evil Eye in a position where she counters both wounded rabbits on EP. Luna takes a Gained solo kill on the dango rabbit. Star + Alice support then Shanghai + Alice support. Lets the 3 fairies get another Luck Gain dango rabbit kill. Then Sakuya/Alice assail to 6 range (out of dango range so its only target is the fairies) while in range of a regular rabbit in the north. Patches would actually have killed with a Silent Serene (she was at 150 Will and has hax shooting stat), so I use a Sniped Princes Undine I believe. Mima then moves to finish it off, I ignore the rabbit in the south east because it ends up dying to a scripted event. Turn 4 EP sees the dango rabbit's 4th death to the fairies. That thing's resurrection skills give Mokou a run for her money. Conveniently, this has let Luna farm the XP she needed to unlock Accel. My hard work has paid off. Marisa and the final wave of enemies spawn in at start of PP5. Luna Accels out, and the other fairies weren't deep enough in danmaku so they just walk it off. Koa refuels for the XP. Shanghai just retreats so it's out of the line of fire. Mima took this kill because she had the Lucky Shamrock. Sakuya/Alice take this kill to divert the top rabbit's attention so it won't walk next to the dango rabbit for support defend shenanigans. Everything else pretty much suicided into Marisa, giving her ample time to earn the WP of have Marisa initiate 3 of her new attacks (support attacks don't count) and then finish the dango rabbit with Marisa. I gave the last rabbit kill to these two because it looked like they could use some XP. After a final refueling, everyone takes potshots at the boss. Before Marisa nukes it a final time. Let's see what happens now that you're out of hermits beans or whatever, you cheeky lagomorph. The Blazing Star cutscene finish was good shit, ngl. I feel the whole surfing on the broomstick is a little too wacky for my tastes, but w/e, I give it a pass. Chapter 40M: Completed in 2 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 158 turns total with 40 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 21 turns total with 6 WP bonuses.) I opt for more # of attacks with less oomph behind them, because frankly, this stage badly needs that. A lot of thought went into the item loadout as well. It takes 3 dolls to kill this fairy unless I wanted to farm crits. I need it to die so that Marisa can hit 130 in time to counter Reimu. (1 Will from dolls, 1 from Nitori/Meiling, 1 from Mima, 1 from Fairies, 1 from Sakuya, 5 from Marisa, 10 from Tipsy, 5 from Ace, 5 from top Ace, 100 base). I use Scan on all the targets I intend to kill. All of them will go aggressive except for Dai. Nitori needs Snipe and FA and Butterfly to reach this fairy that (IIRC) refuses to move on EP. Sakuya needs Assail, and the 3 fairies are positioned this way on purpose (as per usual). Benchmarks hit. Reimu (usually) will advance to 1 range after being scanned, this lets her be Blazing Star countered for massive damage. Reimu needs to miss Marisa so only the near Aki sister comes for her, otherwise my fairy/Sakuya alliance would have to be repositioned. It's better if I get crits, but I don't need them. She gets her ass handed to her so bad. Once again, crits not necessary. As long as I don't miss, this is fine, IIRC. Start of Turn 2. We've got a lot of work to do. Shanghais can double team a fairy if they have their finisher. Honestly, the Valored Final Spark Support Attack alone is enough to take out Dai. It sucks that I needed Shanghia to initiate, but I lack bodies on this team. (RIP PP/XP) This triggers the +10 Will event for the enemy team, which has negligible impact. I had Satisfaction on, though if I'd been paying attention I'd have just upgraded Marisa's attack to Magic Napalm or NDL or something, lol. Again, it sucks giving a kill to Hourai, but what can you do. (RIP PP/XP) Proper chaining of support attacks lets Star get a solo Luck kill on one Aki. Killing 3 named units gives us the WP as well, but we're not done just yet. Sakuya Assails in for the other Aki, Lucky Shamrock equipped for extra $, and Cheer for extra XP. Koa Devotes all her SP to Marisa's MP, then fuels Luna. Mima takes out Mystia, she could have relied on a finisher crit, but Nitori's support is more reliable, especially if I'd remembered to cast Focus first, lol. Nitori and Meiling have more than enough firepower to take out Reimu's non. Marisa nearly one-shots Reimu's spell, lmfao. She nearly gets one-shot back though, at 100% hit rate, so turnabout is fair play. Fairy finish, because Luck. I feel like there should be some 5 turn bonus for wiping the entire enemy army on this map, but then that gets heavily into actually trying to balance the numbers and arbitrary criteria. Ah well. Reimu route units (especially Murasa, Hatate, Momiji, and Cirno) need some serious catching up, stat. Mima's probably being benched now because high cost and she abandons me after IN. Chapter 41: Completed in 3 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 161 turns total with 41 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 24 turns total with 7 WP bonuses.) Go ahead and take a look at the skills I ended up giving my people. Most of them shouldn't be surprises, but a couple might be. I realized I probably should have handled a few other things differently on the characters I've already been using, but what can you do, eh? Anyway, as expected, Mima is getting the bench for now. I actually have to break up many of my pairs for logistical reasons, which should become clear as we progress. The initial deployment loadout, though honestly, the majority of the placements don't matter. Two teams head out with Luck & Accel (Yukari's via Dream) to get some sunflower fairies under their belts. Shou uses Strike to cover ~75% accuracy rates on a long EP. Marisa books it due West, and Koa does her refuel business. Hatate scans literally everybody except the Sunflower fairies. This provokes the bats and some of the hairballs. Keine won't move yet either way. You'll also notice that most of my army is missing, loaded into the ship, which can also pick them up too, like it does for Koa. Here's a slightly better (cropped) pic of the end of Turn 1 positions. Star had cast luck and the Fairies deliberately stopped at 4 range so they could get this kill; Shou was Blessed by Dai before the latter boarded the ship. Start of Turn 2, nearly everything is dead. The two nightballs by Hatate are strange, they move around but don't attack for some reason. The other things that lived were either unprovoked, or couldn't move far enough to complete their suicide. Murasa is targeted by two of my most powerful skills, Tailwind and Spirit Away. This puts her in position to rush through the danmaku, kill the sunflower fairy, and occupy prime strategic ground. Aya/Shou is also Spirited Away, which in this case is equivalent to an Accel (if you follow the diagonals and count the squares you can see it brings them a net 3 closer). Fairies and Border Team chip Keine far enough down. To where Aya can collect the kill (and her Ace!) Hakutaku form is begging for a Hermit Purple damage boost, which will only affect individual lifebars, not carrying over from one to the next, sadly. Then Nitori bombs away some troublesome danmaku penalties. This lets Meiling get up close and critical. As well as size LL Suika; Sakuya Assails from 6 range however. One of the two of them needed to crit, I think. Team fairy collect a Cheered/Blessed finish. This prompts Mokou's appearance, and honestly, if I her health regen actually had given me trouble, I would have had Marisa pop her initial bar right now, but since it's not an issue, I opt to give that XP to someone who needs it more. But that has to wait until next turn, because Keine was too tanky. Also, it looks like I didn't bother taking pictures, but earlier Koa refueled Luna, and Hatate's team picked off one of the straggler nightballs. Turn 3. Mokou, that bat, and one nightball near Hatate remain (she'll kill it at some point before I finish, offscreen). Suika goes LL again, and uses some support. Then it's a quadruple dose of dollies (two standalone, two Alice support). This puts Mokou in range of the Three fairies' weak post move to collect. I'd meant to reassign for a Marisa support, but I have more damage than I need (I forgot to use the second dose of Hermit Purple on the final card too... I have that much spare wiggle room). I think this Marisa support was probably Valored, but I can't remember 100%. Murasa tanked a lot of hairballs on enemy phase, so she Grits and allows Reimu to unload some support. Don't mind me, just feeding more kills to fairies. I blow my second Tailwind to allow Meiling to get some XP from wounding the boss, because why not. (Shou cleans up the last bat because of the +20% points personal skill she has.) Sakuya's chip XP lets her level up actually, so was quite necessary. Protagonists finish things off. Not too bad a chapter, all said and done. Hatate and Momiji are catching up surprisingly well just on their mook farming mission at the start area. Pleasantly surprised. Chapter 42: Completed in 2 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 163 turns total with 42 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 26 turns total with 8 WP bonuses.) Pairings are much the same as last time, I need to split people up to accomplish more tasks. Murasa is also forced, but this shot was taken at the map menu, not the intermission menu. Worth noting is that thanks to Sakuya not counting against the limit, Nitori could go FA and Cirno could grab the Oshirasama. Also, much like last chapter, most of these positions aren't important, only the outer rim matters. This time I spawn and load all three Hourai into the ship, in addition to the regular crew. It turns out I only need two, but having one around for emergencies seemed prudent. This is a shot of who Hatate scans (hint it's goddamn everyone), it's from a prior run because I forgot to get a good zoom out on the run that I was finally happy with. A bunch of things don't really react, but Tewi does, as well as one of the blue sunflowers, and maybe some others. Reimu has to kill the rabbit first, because fuck support defends. Sakuya can then crit the rear hairball. One of Aya or Shou need a crit to get the kill on the bottom hairball, and then we've punched open the way for Marisa. Hatate was Tailwinded by Aya to reach prime countering location, and she Assails and uses her finisher to ensure she can collect the blue Sunflower on EP. Koa gives her some Devotion afterward, because I was too stingy to buy her MP upgrades. I line up my three fairies, doing that thing I do to get extra distance out of them, and Koa levels up to learn Rouse. It's too late to really make an impact this chapter, but I'm sure it will play a potentially pivotal part in future ones, bumping Sakuya's Will to Elegant thresholds immediately, boosting her Skill to Time Paradox proportions enabling Turn 1 support attacks. I'm skeptical Koa will get enough XP to reach Renew by the end of this game, so this might be her final big power spike. Also, (not pictured) Dai has to cast Bless and drink her Tea and eat her Potato now, because she can't do that onboard the ship. I'm not spoiling the recipient just yet, though. Ichirin casts Gain (for a counterkill) and Murasa casts Spirit (only once for insurance if she needed anchor) before they go collect Sakuya, then the fairies combined, advance, and do not attack (they'll get a Gain kill on counter this way). One of the two need to crit for this fairy to die, and it's worth good points, so make it happen. Sadly neither Marisa nor Alice crit Tewi, but at least she didn't activate RNG Dodge like she did on the run where I had N Shooter on Alice for 100% hit rate (before I realized Beer was more important), causing a whiffed 100%. I was livid. Reisen's range is too wtf to matter, sadly (Marisa is closest at 8, and she can't counter that unless Focused, which she can't be if I want to have Spirit Away). I did make sure to keep everyone out of Eirin's even worse range (1-10 is bullshit), so that Marisa could hit her with NDL. Importantly, Alice did crit that time. Though, I guess that's what the extra Hourai was for, so whatevs. Turn 2 start. Marisa and Reimu got the bulk of the kills, which is great considering they're Limit Broken and needed that to reach the ~160 Will levels they end up at. Aya and Hatate lagged behind them but still did well, while I think the fairies and palanquin only got one apiece. Hatate chewed through her MP, so she gets another Devotion. Palanquin gets Spirited Away (surprise, surprise). I spawn a Shanghai to support a Hourai I unload from the ship to whittle down Tewi to the numbers we need. After she's supported her dolly brethren, I use her to pummel Eirin with Alice support. It is vital to do this before Eirin reaches 130 Will and activates Predict, giving her 100% hit rate, as she does something like 3050 damage to their 2950 HP . Given the amount of potential RNG dickery, Alice casts Satisfaction to absofuckinglutely ensure the crit. Marisa will benefit from it later anyway. Now that I don't have to worry about bumping Eirin's Will, Ichirin Trusts Marisa (who was crit by Eirin on EP) before the ship goes ahead and takes down Tewi. I suppose Nitori could have Faithed her, but I was just being careful. Honestly, the ship probably could have dealt with Tewi without needing doll help if they used Anchor, but the extra square of distance is more important in the long run, I believe. Just as a reminder, this is our current standings. It looks deceptively like I can't finish the map this turn, but that's because I still have eight units inside the ship, and one more Shanghai doll. (trololololol) One Hourai makes the ultimate sacrifice (which takes more reloads that it would seem, given Eirin's hax Counter activation rate), in order to shave off the few more HP of damage I need for my benchmark. Sakuya's crit will now do ~5400 or so, cleaning up. Word from the wise, do not cast Strike now, as she'll lose it somehow during the event. That will make hitting Reisen later more difficult. Remilia has spawned in and reactivated Sakuya for us, how thoughtful of her. She also took Eirin's resurrection healthbar to half. Yay. I have to Spirit Away the exhausted Shanghai to free up room. Yes, it's worth it. Yes, I'll wish I could do this in all the chapters she goes MIA for (particularly the have X people talk to Flan bullshit I'm predicting will suck). I start working on Reisen now, Marisa still has that guaranteed crit, so she makes use of that here. I didn't even reload when Shanghai missed, because I had enough wiggle room. Meiling didn't need to cast Grit, it was just habit/instinct. Thanks to the skill I loaded her out with, in addition to the Butterfly Fan, Shou has 1-4 range on her finisher, which means she can get in range to do the deed. A finisher crit alone did something like 7200, so Aya barely needs to chip in. This is where we stand when she activates her card. One LL sized Suika crit will take out Eirin's puny health bar. Sometimes RNG fuckery places her danmaku to prevent Reimu from reaching the square she needs to, meaning reloading for another ~12%. I throw down a Hermit Purple on Eirin, because I'll need it. I turned off Remy's Assist, because I didn't draft her, so pretend she's not even there. With Sakuya having Strike, she doesn't affect accuracy via friendship, and Sakuya is bulky enough to take a hit so the bonus evade is likewise null. She has zero mechanical effect on this fight. I remembered that I need Hatate to Hermit Purple Eirin's finisher, and since she's required to take down Reisen, I have to put that on hold. Nitori + Valored Danmaku Power 2 support from Marisa (who gets all of Koa's remaining Devotions) puts a huge dent in Eirin's health. Enough that Reimu + Yukari + Alice can finish the job (Reimu survives the ~100% hit rate as long as it doesn't crit). I've now used all of Marisa and Alice's support attacks (yes, two from each, go back and check to make sure if you have to). They have been putting in so much work you wouldn't believe. Again, depending on the RNG placement of this danmaku pattern you may need to reload. Thankfully it's a 100% kill every time this time, no crits needed. The ship needs to be able to deploy its troops (or I needed to have decided to give Hatate the kill, loooool). Dai bombs and Hatate Hermit Purples. Usually she doesn't need to Snipe, but the danmaku placement demanded it this time, meaning she won't have 100% accuracy. Star deploys my other bomb, because the effect of Eirin's final danmaku is so bad (people in the cage cannot do anything but bomb, wtf). I forgot to cast Valor, which I only noticed when Cirno crit, but since she had the damage, it didn't matter. Since Magic team is about all used up, they get supported by the 3 Fairies this time. Though, honestly, they're still doing the heavy lifting thanks to DP2V. The final lay of the land. Sunny uncombines, eats a cookie, and recombines. They have the damage needed to finish the job, with roughly ~1000 to spare. (Thanks Hatate!) WP condition was finish in 12 turns. I like to joke that I missed seeing that first digit. Always Momiji or Mima, and Mima was solely a favorite character pick, who did an amazing job supplementing the Marisa route split crew. Momiji... just has the unfortunate distinction of not being as good as Meiling.)

Chapter 43: Completed in 3 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 166 turns total with 43 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 29 turns total with 9 WP bonuses.) I tried some slightly different teams this time, for a couple of reasons. The first was putting Nitori with Marisa so she could use Extending Arm to use items on Marisa to give her fat stacks of MP, because on an early attempt it was guzzled way faster than Koa could cope with. That ended up not being so important in the final run though. Alice was with Hatate, because she needed the extra move that crow tengu have over standard characters. Nearly everybody else went solo, for various reasons. Only the top two rows of the deployment really matter for precise positioning, to be honest. First thing first, Koa Rouses team Marisa. Fast Will is always good, though in this case I don't know that it was 100% vital. Then she refuels a fairy, for XP. Sakuya took this kill over Aya because she was carrying one of my lucky clover items. Hatate was carrying the other. Reimu started mid lane because it lets her reach Eirin on Turn 1 (and in my original failed idea, Yukari gapped Marisa 1 square to the north, to get her into Blazing Star range. However, killing Eirin turn 1 forcibly revives her, and while you get her points/xp twice that way, it takes vital resources away from clearing Kaguya in time, and had to be abandoned.) The Enemy Marker I stole from Reisen lets Marisa reach Eirin anyway, so all is good. Aside from the 3 fairies, who Accel up, most everyone else just loads into the ship for a comfy ride. Eirin heals a fair chunk, but Reimu counters it all away, more or less. Start of Turn 2 sees me unpack the fairies. Luna, with Reimu support, takes out Eirin, and now that the Mokou arrival event has triggered, she stays gone. Then the 3 fairies recombine where Star was, Accel forward, and bomb away Kaguya's movement hindering danmaku. Momiji was Tailwinded over here, Snipe at the ready to counter the far blue sunflower, after which the bat will close and attack her. Suika and Aya can use their finishers on Kaguya, now that the way is cleared (Aya needed Butterfly Fan to reach, but it's totally worth it). Then Reimu and Yukari come finish the job. So, basically, all of SA Reimu shot types were represented, in a way, on this life bar, and only SA Reimu shot types. Dragon's Necklace deserves a Hermit Purple use. Which allows Team Marisa to one-shot it from full health (I shit you not, witness the power of max rank waifu + DPV). Momiji can't deal with the blue sunflower alone, so I unload Meiling as well. Sakuya preps one of the blue sunflowers on the right hand side. With Assail + Snipe, Hatate and Alice can clear 2 of the 4 Guard charges for Kaguya's Buddhist spellcard. Cirno and Dai take out the other 2 charges with Assail as well. The final layout at the end of Turn 2. The sunflower fairy attacking the ship was wounded by a Marisa counter turn 1 EP, btw. Having cleared away Kaguya's protection means this counter's damage will actually go through, which is good because it's pretty immense with Tri-lotus combination crit coming from two very buffed weapons levels protagonists. Start of Turn 3. There's a bat and a blue sunflower offscreen further to the right that I never kill. I might have been able to get away with diverting Mima over there on Turn 2 to get the job done, but I just wanted to move on by the time I realized I still had a little extra firepower to spare. Yukari calls in the cavalry. This lets Koa bomb away that shitty spellcard effect so I don't have to waste four more attacks. It also puts Kaguya's health in range to be taken down my Murasa and crew. We do end up taking out the second blue sunflower on the left hand side, though, like planned. Since Kaguya does nothing but Guard for Fire Rat's Robe, that's an excuse to Shanghai her if I ever heard one. The Shanghai's themselves do zero damage, but Furied Alice Supports add up. And this lets Furied Shou cash in (on a crit). Mima + Sakuya does enough to weaken up Swallow's Cowrie. That, with a crit from Reimu on Support, Cirno and Dai can finish. This is what the situation looks like at the start of Rainbow Danmaku. I have nine units yet to act, with many support attacks still available. Sakuya needs Perfect Square to go off here. Reimu and co clean up. At this point the Last Spell caps all individual damage at 5k, which rather sucks and sort of artificially prolongs things. It's also why all of the Valors have already taken place. I also still have mad amounts of support attacks to abuse, so I'm not too worried. In fact, I have to even cancel an assist attack and not attack at all with two of my three fairies, so... I really probably should have cashed in on the extra ~4.5k from the blue sunflower. C'est la vie. Finish her! Why is it the first people to learn Valor (aside from Marisa) are both fairies? (Hint, fairies are the strongest.) Capturing all spellcards was an easy enough WP condition. We take all the deserters' items from them. And the customary statblocks. "[W]hen an undrafted character is REQUIRED for either finishing the stage or acquiring a WP Bonus, they may also be used for that stage ONLY", means I get free Remilia this chapter, which honestly just secures me 3 bat kills I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. This is the deploy zone. It's a hilariously short chapter, in true FMW fashion, they give you a joke chapter after you've wrapped up an irregularity investigation. This means blowing all my Luck and Bless as often as I can. Honestly, I just like doing this. Nitori is in a nice killzone. She needed Tailwind to reach. I was surprised to find that I needed to actually cast Seclusion, I'll go over why when it becomes more apparent. Star actually wounded the one that Murasa finishes, prior to being sucked into 3 fairies mode, but the Palanquin could've cleared it with a crit anyway, IIRC. And that's all of the Lucks for Turn 1 (Remy has another Bless on her waiting for EP). This was actually kind of dangerous, I could have accidentally killed Flan's first lifebar early and screwed everything up. Marisa does devastating damage as always (though lessened by the lack of Danmaku Power). Hatate needed Tailwind. Positions at end of Turn 1. Hatate needed to be where she is to draw Flan over to attack her at close range, moving the danmaku field away from Marisa/Alice. She also needed to have attacked, IIRC. This is also why the 3 fairies had to use Seclusion. In fact, for ideal danmaku placement, Hatate has to not kill the bat to her right, meaning Flan has to swoop in from below. If both of them had crit (only Momiji did), this could have been disastrous. Shanghai needed to kill the one bat on the map who didn't attack when someone was in range on the EP. This lets me set up a dolly + Reimu/Aya roadblock, forcing Flan's Maze of Love spawn to be shifted westward two crucial spaces. With the important movement done that needed to be free from annoying danmaku, we're free to clear Flan's non. I mean, look at how impossible trying to navigate this spellcard would have been when trying to set up the block. Hermit Purple + Marisa Valor. Puts her right in range for Cirno Valor to collect on. Maze of Love. I am well prepared for it, as you can see, with the 3 fairies already ideally positioned. Two persuasions down. Sunny combines them away from Flan, freeing up vital talk spots, and then bombing to ensure people can reach those talk spots. Hatate persuades, then gets picked up by the Murasa, freeing her spot back up immediately. Shou had nothing better to do than finish off a bat for another Luck kill. Because persuasions 4 and 5 were waiting aboard the ship, they just had to step out and talk. That earns us a fairly vexing WP condition. There are only 4 bats left on the map though, so all told, we did very well for ourselves. Remy finishes the chapter. I forgot to take pictures of Hatate and Momiji, and apparently I can't bring up their profiles if they are exhausted and in the ship. Oops! The only difference is something like 60/90 XP earned, they didn't get any kills/pp (aside from standard stage-cleared-while-deployed 5, that is). Chapter 45: Completed in 4 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 172 turns total with 45 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 35 turns total with 11 WP bonuses.) There's a ton of forced units, and since the Palanquin is not present, they can all contribute a modest amount. Unfortunately, their cost means Meiling has to sit out. Our deployment is fairly typical, with the exception of Sunny being in row 2. But since she has (Luna's) Accel, she can afford to be a bit further at the start. This Marisa play is very calculated, despite it looking stupid. She took Enemy Marker instead of a move item, because the large ghost does a MAP attack if she's in range 3-6, but will counter and be damaged if she's in range 1-2. That means she needs 7 to counter Rin. The other factor is that the small spirit she attacks is pacifist on EP1, instead spreading danmaku and ending its turn, so she has to kill it now. (Don't worry, she'll 1HKO Utsuho on the EP regardless.) Just giving away the position of my fairies' lineup and doing the typical Koa thing. Spoilers: Every red spirit (save one) and every large ghost die to a Luck user. End of turn 1. Utsuho is worth fuckall for XP/PP/points so don't bother boosting for her. Note: Marisa's Satisfaction is still active because Alice one-shot the spirit on the player phase with hers. This just improves the reliability of the clear, Marisa has decent crit without. Her brave suicide did give us the WP for the chapter super early though. Rin gave Alice 80% rates without Focus, so I did. It is important to spawn a Shanghai here. Also, you can see what little is left alive. I had to sandbag by using Marisa's weakest attacks and often having Alice watch from the sidelines to avoid killing things that give better points with Luck/Bless. Unpacking the fairies put Star in range to clear the danmaku field without anybody losing movement. Magic team finish the 2RKO of Rin for nice gains. Rin revives with Guts and casts Alert afterward. Koa does Koa. Reimu earns the team cash. Shanghai sacrifices herself to get rid of the Alert. End of Turn 2. The Fairies will Luck counter the red spirit. Reisen is offscreen, but moved full west. Rin takes some massive damage here, thanks to Shanghai's efforts. Start of Turn 3, we in position to open cans of whoopass. Shou opens the first can. Another Shanghai pays the bloodprice to keep us streamrolling. There appears to be a bug/exploit that, unless you have to do a quickload, only the first Alert in a Turn is actually applied, despite the animation showing each time. The second can involves a lot of nice support attacks. The third can relies on Valor. Her supporting done, Star Luck kills a spirit, then the fairies reassemble where Luna was. Allowing them to be in range to deliver the fourth can. I made sure to have a Hourai on-hand if RNG betrayed me on the EP and I had to quick load. I ended up needing her, but I don't remember why. Rin targets the squishiest looking member of my team, I guess? Turn 4 sees the forced units spawn in on the southeast. There's a similar arrangement of enemies in the northwest too, but I'm much better situated to handle those. Lyrica has two luck casts, but only one really juicy target. I also gave her Extend so she can get a Cheer off after hitting 150 Will, which Merlin will get her to easily. Either the Jeweled Branch of Hourai or her default skill allow her to get a SA from Youmu, but I traded for the Prismriver Sister friendship one on her and Merlin (Synchronize +10 stats was too good to give up on Lunasa though). Merlin is positioned to get everyone's hot blood flowing as well as to allow the combination to commence. Then it's just spamming Spirit. I ran out of Luck/Bless, so a simple Four Leaf Clover kill was in the cards for this red spirit. I Daunt because it's available and I wanted to. I greatly miss not having any Daunts drafted. Youmu softens before the Luck finish. Then it's just a matter of cleaning up the little ones. The fairies separated and recombined to do theirs. Softening and Koa-ing (I forgot to take a picture of her do it on turn 3.) Sakuya looked like she could use the XP. Final report, decent haul on the cash front. Updated character sheets. You're gimped pretty hard on this level, with neither protagonist being available until at earliest Turn 4. Still, I've got faith in my crew. "All forced characters are also free for stage 46," helps as well. Since Nue is to the south, it should come as no surprise that my forces are prominently deploying on that side of the ship. All UFOs are worth the same 3600 points. Shou Luck kills one every turn until she runs out of SP. Alice drops off 3 Hourai before booking it due south. Sakuya needs to crit this, but it's not hard. The middle pair of UFOs don't move, so Nitori needs to be knee-deep in them to clear the whole batch in one phase. The three fairies opt for a simple line formation this time. With a +range part, they're in range to counter Nue. Cirno needs a crit or a Rouse to get this done, but I was saving my Rouse for something that ended up not making a difference. She has to go for the far west green UFO, as it's passive on EP1. Reisen gives the red UFO a lovetap so the fairies don't need to crit it. She needed to switch to Assail mode for this chapter. The final arrangement of Hourai positions. I avoided casting Strike on the fairies as much as possible to allow them to get off more Gains. This just prolonged the RNG struggles, which are very definitely real against Nue. Turn 2. There were 3 UFOs in the north that spawned. Two Hourai can clear a blue UFO provided one uses its finisher and the other its basic. I should remember to upgrade Murasa's weapons, she shouldn't have this much trouble taking out grunts. Needing 150 Will and Fury (to ignore distance penalty)? That's on me. With nothing to do in the north, Nitori books it southward to contribute. Alice deliberately didn't crit so I could get the 20% bonus points from the Four Leaf Clover. Sakuya goes beastmode. Star's first Luck cast for the first Nue takedown. This spirit is so annoying when the enemies use it, and always seems like you still get hit a lot even after casting it for yourself. At least it doesn't stack, considering Nue casts it every time she's downed. Since Luna was holding the Butterfly Fan she can reach Nue from here. The 0% enemy hit rate is thanks to the massive friendship boosts that being in the middle of a fairy sandwich gives you, with the +4 personal skill boosts on. If I didn't Strike for the SA it would have been two ~20% rates and fuck that noise. I am saving Reisen's Sense for Turn 3, as she needs to Assail on Turns 1, 2, and 3, which completely bottoms out her SP pool. It's enough for Star's second Luck cast to be effective. I should maybe consider getting Sunny E-Save... You can barely see it, but Cirno abandoned the lower left, coming to join the party in the lower right. Nue advances on the EP, meaning the fairies are forced to use their shittiest weapon. One blue UFO spawn at the center of all sides. Shou takes out the left one. The Hourai weaken the Green UFO from the Turn 2 EP spawn so that Murasa can kill it. The blue UFO that Cirno left alive has started advancing. I'll deal with it on Turn 4, Nue is a priority now. Speaking of, Alice spawns Shanghais, Koa Devotions her and Rouses the Hourai, then bombs. Clearing the danmaku allows for Flandre, Nitori, Lily, and Cirno to actually get in on the action. Shanghai can miss. Alice uses Satisfaction because fuck RNG. I took this screen before disabling Reisen's SA, it's important not to rely on it. Lily's first Bless is on Luna for this kill. Sunny's support is actually on, and in fact Valored. Which enables this kill, relying on the extra contribution from Reisen. It also uses up Star's fourth and final Luck. Lily needs to hit and not be hit. It's not as easy as it sounds. Alice and Sakuya need to crit. It is as easy as it sounds (even after running out of SP for more Satisfaction). Lily's second Bless was on Alice for this kill. I specifically supported with Soul Sculpture instead of The World. It still does enough damage to suit my needs. Those being, allowing for Assail Valored Perfect Freeze to get the kill (with Dai's first Bless active.) Nue's unknown armor rating somehow led to me fucking up the calculations and being about 130 short of a KO with Hourai + Sakuya self-support. Unless I was just retarded and fucked up the math on my own. Hourai has no natural crit chance, and I'm not relying on a 1 in 100. Plus, the kill ends up going to a better cause this way anyway. It does mean however that I have a Hourai I drug along that has nothing to do, lol. Anyway, this is the final positioning of Turn 3, you can admire my support chaining at your leisure. Nue decides to kill herself on the three fairies (who are sporting Dai's second Bless) during the EP. The only bad thing about an EP kill is that it means Disturbance sticks around for the next player phase. Apparently the top and bottom UFO from the previous reinforcement don't move, only the left and right do. So the Hourais handle this one, while Murasa takes the other. Lily needs to clear the danmaku so I can kill the UFOs before finishing Nue. Two Red UFOs spawn in the lower left. Shou is finally out of Luck but takes one down anyway. Nitori can barely snipe that blue that Cirno ignored so long ago. Cirno takes the bottom center one (with Dai's third Bless up, her final Bless is on the final Nue killer but I'm not spoiling that yet), and Marisa makes her sole contribution to the chapter. Koa gonna Koa. Private Square needs to activate. This was probably a mistake, as Mercy lets Nue take full advantage of her PrevailR, but honestly, our hit rates were never going to be good on her anyway. Believe it or not, but all this Nue farming actually allows the three fairies to hit some vital PP thresholds. The chapter can't be cleared before Turn 4, thanks to forced events. But just look at that haul! That'll fund a lot of weapons upgrades. I find it hilarious Murasa got her Ace on a chapter she literally couldn't move on. Also, I'm having the hardest time deciding on Shotgunning, Limit Break, or Belief for Sakuya. All very good skills, with their own slightly different use cases. I'm in a similar quandary with Reimu as well, though she already has one of the three. Chapter 47: Completed in 1 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 177 turns total with 47 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 40 turns total with 13 WP bonuses.) Some crazy teams here. I opted to pair Dai so she could gain 30PP at the expense of ~1k points (due to Blessing a Clover kill instead of Blessing a non-Clover). Deploying so that I can appropriately cover the four fronts that need dealing with. Koa's Rouse may not have been 100% necessary, but I can't recall if that was what pushed my fairies to Extend heights or not. It also might have enabled Elegant, but it's been awhile since I ran the chapter. Obviously Star cast Luck and probably some Cheer before getting her free SP back. Luna had to spam Spirit, and her refund (plus Potato) leaves her just enough for Gain and Accel, IIRC. I need crits on both to take down this rabbit. Star needed the range extension too. I could have taken advantage of the limited item duping exploit I discovered to let the Ship close to 1-2 range which would have eliminated the need for crit fishing, but that hardly seemed sporting. As long as the rabbit doesn't Parry Meiling, I think this is in the bag. Kill one on PP, solo the others on EP. Kappa. Looks like Elegant wasn't required after all, otherwise you'd be seeing Time Paradox. There's one more offscreen to the left that will be dealt with PP, the other left fairy suicides to Reimu on EP. Marisa needed every square of her 15 move to reach this location, where she can Blazing Star counter the other two for ORKOs. Alice weakened this so the Luck kill could happen. Since they were scanned those two bottom rabbits aggro onto Sakuya, making this map GG. That was the epitome of filler map. Should have been a Part 1, then there'd have at least been an ounce of strategy on holding back some SP for Part 2. The team. Chapter 48: Completed in 2 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 179 turns total with 48 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 42 turns total with 14 WP bonuses.) Like the Kaguya stage, Nitori goes with Marisa, this time more for the support defends (though she does feed Marisa a Potato as well, enabling the second Valor) and other than that it's mostly singles. The deploy is actually pretty fine-tuned to optimize points earning on spare rabbits. I puss out and take normal Yorihime, because there's no incentive to do otherwise under the draft rules and conditions. Two Hourai are loaded onto the ship before it casts Fury (to bypass support defend) and Gain and mauls that bomb rabbit in the middle of the line of three, due south. Shou and Meiling+Reimu Luck kill the flanking rabbits. Reimu has to be careful to stay out of Yorihime's 2nd move's range, or she'll be targeted. My other in-range units all equipped +HP items so Marisa is juicer for Yorihime. Just a simple line formation for the fairies this time, as they're just farming for points. Sunny snacked on a cookie to secure the crit enabling a clean EP kill. Sakuya murders a rabbit with Time Paradox, then Nitori scans the only folk that appear to get triggered into moving. Alice and Cirno (both just outside of Yori's range) injure separate rabbits, who will then crash into Cirno on the EP. Since Team Marisa just ended their turn without attacking, all their buffs are still up when Yorihime goes first on the EP, advances, and attacks. It's okay if Nitori gets Parried here, because the non only has 20k HP. On the second move, it's important that Yorihime advances. Rarely, she just attacks from her "initial" position 2 south of Marisa, but most of the time she'll sidle up alongside and into the square directly to Marisa's right, which is where we want her. On this attack, Nitori either needs to not be Parried, or Marisa needs to crit for the damage to work out optimally for next turn. Since a rabbit suicided at 1 range, requiring the second shot of anchor, the ship needs to use the Cartridge here. They do something like 7.2k damage, so there's a little wiggle room. Yori's second spell doesn't take any damage from attacks powered by Shooting stat, only from those using Melee stat. Luckily, Sakuya's Souls Capture fits the bill, as does Meiling's finisher. Shou also is Melee based, so I don't have to worry about having used up Murasa already, and I don't have to figure out who to spare to bomb it. I'm not sure why the WP only wants you to get half her spells... Hourais pop out of the ship to finish weakened rabbits for points. They have to do it now, while the danmaku is thin. The fairies also do a little spring cleaning. Koa Rouses the third Hourai, enabling it to pick up the kill after a Shanghai doll supported Shanghai doll attack. She also does her Koa thing for XP. Maybe I should have been having her sub for someone and earn PP a long time ago, but at this point it's just whatever. Now that Predict is active for her, Yori is putting a modest dent in hit rates. Alice + Marisa do a shitton of damage though, as usual. Cirno does ~8k on her own, so Marisa support is just insurance if she misses. I collect the final few scrap rabbits I can reach for their points. It's another round of Danmaku Power L2 + Valor. Nitori was Parried but as we saw previously Marisa alone clocks in at some odd 20k+ damage. Which places it within Sakuya's kill range either way. There's no doing this faster, and doubtful any way to get more rabbits dead on top of this. The rest of the team is going to be so underlevelled when they get back... Chapter 49: Completed in 8 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 187 turns total with 49 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 50 turns total with 15 WP bonuses.) Nitori as actually quite a good partner for Marisa, despite what the haters might say. Deployment. Left goes left, right goes right, south goes south. I need to reach power benchmarks. 130 for Sakuya's Elegant, to enable her Time Paradox, and 105 for Star to unlock S Formation. Marisa casts Valor and Nitori refills her SP. Really appreciate the Big Backpack right about now. Plotting out how far Yori can travel, and how big her danmaku field will be is an integral part of successfully running this chapter. It's a shame the 20k points can't be Blessed because it's a drop item, but that's smart thinking on the devs part. It turns out I only need one doll, but I loaded the ship full of them, and Alice suffered MP issues for the whole map because of it. Oops. I think this is my first time with team blonde here. I paired them just because I didn't have enough move items if they went single, and having a paired Luck user is top tier. It would have been better on the final turn if they were separate, for damage output reasons, but I managed. With two range increasing items, Star can snipe from her starting location, get refueled, and then combined and move on as part of the three fairies. I packed them up from Luna's spot, for distance saving on unpack. The ship weakened this for Reimu to secure a kill, Cirno can only wound, sadly, and it'll suicide onto the ship. Marisa gets attacked on the enemy phase, but was packing DP2 and Valor, so it really stings Yori. I maybe should have saved it for a Blazing Star, but it's kind of good this way too. Not sure if a crit is required here, but Cirno does need to kill the danmaku rabbit on the EP. Rabbits will spawn in here on EP2, btw. After several failed runs I got sick of marking the locations. Anyway, PP2 is mostly running away. The rest is downing the cannon bunny, and preparing to run away. A lot of rabbits had parried Nitori's assist attack, surprisingly, usually there's less at this point. Yorihime attacks twice, as per expected. She gets downed and revives, as per expected. Alice had Shou's Luck up in preparation. PP 3, I load my dudes into the ship. This is all that's left of the reinforcements (and the only non-Yori enemies on the map). Enough enemies have died that Star's Extend goes off, giving her an SP infusion. (She Cheered for Sakuya, and Lucked previously, so there was lots of room in the pool.) Again, plotting out Yori's advance, and distracting her with a Shanghai here is vital to the plans. RIP Shanghai. And that wraps up the reinforcements. (Well, Reimu finishes on EP, but close enough, right?) Done mind Koa, just doing Koa things. Start of PP4. Tracking Yori's advance, as per always. Since Alice was criminally low on MP, I move her into range to get picked up by the Ship. I could've just had Shou swap to front and travel on her allowance, but eh. Sakuya unloads, and gets MP from Koa. She had to blast Soul Sculpture and Sakuya's World to ensure a lot of EP rabbit KOs on turn 1, which explains why she's so low. Marisa readies DP2 Valor and sets up to block Yori's advance. Enemies reinforce in (old screenshot for top half of map, obviously). Yorihime beating #1. Yorihime beating #2. Thanks to Nitori's support defends, no worries about dying. (There was also a lucky miss that wasn't critical. It was more important that Nitori's shots were not parried.) I probably should have saved the Valor and just let Luna and Star finish the wounded enemies. Shrug. Start of PP5. 2 Rabbits survived, as well as obviously Yori. Marisa Accels back to the ship. Star is closer to getting Aced, so she gets it. They repack on Sunny's location. Koa squeezes out more XP, and I position everyone where they need to be. Sakuya marks another notch in her belt. This also unlocks Wrath and Valor, so was a huge power boost. The last of the rabbit reinforcements spawn in, but I'm ready for them. Start of PP6. The subpilot fairies clear out the top two rabbits. I load up the ship. I take out the last rabbit and establish my formation past the goal line. Reimu had Sense cast for safety. Even a Trichromatic crit doesn't do anywhere near Marisa's numbers. Start of PP7, the final phase, even though we'll get dinged for 8 on the results screen. First things first, Luna accels down and bombs away the danmaku. Star is parried, but Reimu's support goes through, and more importantly, it re-establishes adjaceny for the three fairies, allowing them to recombine. Cirno is unpacked, and after Dai distributes her remaining Blesses, goes to work. The ship advances to Anchor range and puts down Yori for the 3rd time. This unlocks Valor for Murasa. The current state of the formation. Support attacks available: Sunny 1, Reimu 1, Marisa 2, (and technically Nitori 3, but they go unused). Shou and Sunny (via Cookie) both have Satisfaction up, Alice needs to crit naturally, but it's Alice. Meiling casts Valor, Sakuya needs to crit, but it's Sakuya. Nitori needed to Faith Reimu to full both before and after her attack, as she is 28 graze damage away from death. That's Yorihime's 4th fall. Koa doesn't often attack, but I still needed to unload some Marisa damage. Marisa needed to crit and Nitori not get parried, IIRC. Valored fairies. Final formation. Sakuya is a deceptively appealing target, what with pocket Meiling to soak the hit. (Worst case she scums for Private Square.) Then Cirno's low HP is also appealing. Dai just barely tanks Take-Mikazuchi. This kill is non-blessed, but at least it's Four Leaf Clovered. I don't think there would have been any way to get a final Bless kill on EP, what with Yori's AI targeting. Start of PP8, all my people are past the white line, so we WP bonus. (One attempt with Marisa on the line did not get the bonus. So be careful!) Some scripted events later and we have victory. Dear me, Zeal is expensive this game! I was expecting ~50SP like Quattro had. Also the non-Moon characters got 0 autolevel for missing out on five to six stages. Yikes! (I apparently had tallied Aya's stats wrong in my charts, as going back to check the screencap I can confirm zero change.) They're gonna need a lot of catching up, and some cash infusions on their Weapons (as I'd intentionally neglected them, knowing they were going to go missing for a while.) Chapter 50: Completed in 3 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 190 turns total with 50 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 53 turns total with 16 WP bonuses.) If it didn't force you to wait, this could be 1 turned. But Letty slept in, and event coding says she needs to show up... Here's my arrangement. The goal is powerlevelling the folks who didn't go to the moon with me, as they got zero help as far as autolevelling. My other goal is of course, exploiting as much Luck/Bless as possible. There aren't enough boss/big enemies on this map, so some Lucks go on regular minimooks. State of the map at the end of PP1. Enough things have died, and Luna spammed Spirit enough that Star Extends already. Yukari is soon to follow. Start of PP2. Aside from the red spirit from Yukari's group, only southern enemies exist. The people that have 3 Lucks must kill every turn, or else they're not getting the ultimate bang for their buck. (Star has 4, but due to packing/unpacking she can do that.) (I included a blessed Kaguya EP in here too.) Koa refuels as always. End of PP2. The turn 3 reinforcements have arrived. With this, the last enemies in the south are dead. Dai finally triggers Extend. I'll probably have to give her PDefeat, to be honest. Yukari warps in some reinforcements of our own. The big guys are all summarily taken care of. (Suika is blessed for EP as well.) End of PP3. The ones on the right attack Reimu, which isn't ideal, as Shou has +%age to points and she doesn't, but oh well. Kind of a snoozefest chapter, sorry for boring you. Chapter 51: Completed in 1 turn with the WP bonus. (Overall: 191 turns total with 51 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 54 turns total with 17 WP bonuses.) It pains me a little to leave so many enemies alive, but the one turn requires it. I guess I could have tried for an EP finish, but that always gets risky with Cheer/Bless. We're back to more or less standard teams for this map, barring the Momiji bench (because Wriggle is forced). Hellcrows are good money. We'll be Luck/Blessing all we can reach. Now that Reimu has Zeal, Yukari has Zeal. Aya Tailwinds them. They kill a thing when they reach the end of movement #1. Prepping for more Zeal goodness. Jeweled Branch of Hourai lets Yukari support Nitori here. Suika team don't need support, they manmoding. 4 Rouses later... (2 from Koa, 2 from Kaguya.) Border Team gets an SP infusion. Yukari slaps down Accel, and Reimu goes ethereal. They have enough movement to reach their destination on move #2, and begin chipping away at the bucket. Of course, where Yukari goes, so too my army. Hourai-enabled Support Attack chips away at the spider, and blocks the 2nd priority Spirit Away spawn. More friends for bossing. More Hourai-enabled Support Attacks. Sakuya put Wrath on for good measure. I only need 5 of my 6 Hourai to do actual things, so one of them just kills an Evil Eye. More chip! As much as it pains me to give a boss kill to a Hourai, they were nerfed and can't use bombs in this game, so my hand was forced. Sakuya gives Reimu more MP via Devotion. Reimu unleashes Zeal #3, meaning she'll have acted four times this turn when all is said and done. This allows Border Team to pick up the kill on move #3 and still be ready for more. Triggering both spellcards on the same turn was the WP condition. We achieved it, boy did we achieve it. Enough things have died for Star to Extend. That basically means she has an extra Cheer to go around, because there's no way she can Luck more than twice. Now that we're on their final life bars, I Hermit Purple both of them with Hatate. Then it's just a matter of distributing the Bless/Cheer and cleaning up whatever hellcrows I can. The final positions look like this. The negative effects of the danmaku force me to bomb it away. With the ~2.5k from the bomb, we clear the HP threshhold no problem with Reimu's 4th move, thanks to Danmaku Power L2 + Valor on Marisa support. Scumming to get around Shield Defends is a necessity. Final bit of chip with the last Hourai. Again, with ~2.5k from bomb and .7k from Hourai herself, we good here. I missed out on about 100k points due to rushing, and a nice chunk of PP as well. Sigh. Well, points and PP are only good for shaving turns anyway, so... The chapter was pretty short, so only the protagonists and their pairs really changed much. Chapter 52: Completed in 2 turn with the WP bonus. (Overall: 193 turns total with 52 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 56 turns total with 18 WP bonuses.) Maps where I can freely deploy everyone are good maps. Most of these positions don't matter, but Aya, Reimu, the fairies, and Koa's do. Tailwind+Zeal for Reimu's first (Yukari will have enough SP for Accels for the second and third). She Bless kills one of the red spirits, then lathers, rinses and repeats. Luna snags this lone spirit, then gets drawn into the combo, after Koa Rouse's Border team and refuels. Thanks to their equipment and spirits, the fairies can OHKO this red spirit on a post move. The ambient will gains from PDefeat have let Yukari need only one more Rouse from Kaguya to hit Extend, after eating her Eel. (Reimu Extends as well.) The Final Zeal is cast, but I wait a while to actually use it. Aya/Shou fly into the nest of hellcrows to the west, and Luck kill one. They'll counterkill all but one on EP. Kaguya gets Aced, out of range of other things so that Tewi can get extra points from them. The state of the homefront. Everyone else (save Marisa) is loaded onto the ship. We attack Parsee with Reimu's final free action. Then we warp in the reinforcements. Reimu sets up Yuugi's non for Murasa to collect. Danmaku Power L2 Valor puts a huge dent in Yuugi's first spell, wrapping up all our available actions. I pull my punch just enough here to leave the big ghost alive for a PP Bless cast. The EP sees a lot of Extends trigger. We pull our punches on Parsee and Yuugi, again, so we can collect Bless finishes on them. Start of PP2. Hatate Thought Bombs the middle Large Ghost twice, so that it's in killable range for the person who can reach it. Giving up Hermit Purple made Parsee's Spell tricky, but not unmanageable. Her task accomplished, she then collects massive XP gains off of Parsee's non. Murasa moves to a better position, and starts working on Parsee's Spell. The large ghost Reimu babied on EP is weak enough that an unsupported Hourai can collect on it. Very nice! I've also summoned two Hourai dolls so they can get ambient will up to the 105 threshold they need. The second tailwind goes to Tewi/Suika, then Aya/Shou luck kill the final hellcrow in their area. Kaguya has nothing to do, so she gets refueled, because XP gains for Koa. The fairies split, and the Luna group take out the large ghost near them, then they recombine, Valor/Accel, and take out the red spirit defending the large ghost Hatate softened up. Dai's Extend triggers about now, and just in time too! Tewi/Suika clean up that last large ghost, and then it's back to bosses. Dai casts all her spirits on the right people, then finishes Yuugi's first spell. This will clear out some of the more movement impairing danmaku, letting the rest of my plan work. The two Hourai suicide bomb Parsee for about 2.5k, which is just about what I needed, making up for losing Hermit Purple. Sakuya needs a dodge or Perfect Square. Yuugi's final spell is a bitch, because she has Strike up, and massive damage. I don't often attack with Yukari in front, but Reimu cannot survive, so... Then it's up to Magic Team to overkill the boss. Fairly tricky WP, and a stage that stretched me to my limits trying to collect as many points as possible while clearing in a timely fashion. Chapter 53: Completed in 1 turn with the WP bonus. (Overall: 194 turns total with 53 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 57 turns total with 19 WP bonuses.) This stage is a really neat stage, I like it. Reimu gets both Tailwinds this stage, as it's short and nobody else moves. Reimu as usual, blesskills something along the way. Next Zeal + enough Rouses to Extend. Marisa gets the other Rouse, for Final Spark threshold. Satori's durability reminds me of a wet paper bag. We reinforcements up in here. One Hourai gets a Bless kill, because without Tewi and Dai hitting Extend, I don't have enough to spare for everyone. The others (and Shanghais) do clear out the nearby hellcrows though. This helps provide Will for my troops, and cash for my wallet. A second application of Reimu puts Satori's non out of commission. If Yukari crits her assist, Sakuya just stands by and watches. This nets an easy WP. Thankfully Fantasy Nature has A rank in Water. I applied Shells to Sakuya and Meiling to cover their weakness there. Make sure you've warped into the open zone for this one. Marisa/Alice one shot the spell with ease. This spawns in Rin and her entourage. I start off with a Hermit Purple, because this first application applies to two health bars, and the second one definitely needs it, while the first just makes me feel more comfortable. First, Luna kills a zombie fairy, which are now the top dollar mook enemy, despite being way easier to take out than some other contenders. Star was nearby for friendship support, so she gets refueled, and then they reform as the 3 fairies. My tengu soften Rin up for my Oni to catch up on XP from. Valor is always a vital benchmark. Reinforcements for both sides spawn in, and Rin fullheals. I get the feeling if you let the event play out naturally, she won't heal, and her new health bar is a measly 12k, so there's that at least. Plus the aforementioned fact that since she technically just used a story-granted Guts spirit, and this isn't actually a new health bar, the Hermit Purple is still in effect. The ship bombards the bomb carrying spirit, because why not. Kisume Attunes Yuugi, so her SP is free to dump into a double Drive, giving her an impressive 160 Will, with which she proceeds to absolutely wreck Rin with. She might be the only non-Marisa unit to have one-shot a health bar from full, but I cannot confirm. And this is base level Yuugi, mind you! I Hermit Purple again, because this will be my last chance, not necessarily because it's needed. Kisume/Yamame with Nitori support put Rin in striking range for Hatate/Tewi + 3 Fairies, allowing her to reap massive XP and hit the Valor benchmark. Nitori heads over to get support from the 3 Fairies, not because I need the damage, but because that pushes Luna to 150 Will and Extends her, giving her enough SP for Gain (as I blew the rest of it on Spirit). I'd originally planned to have Cirno get that support, but the danmaku made that unfeasible without completely redoing my starting positions. The fairies are now free to overkill and end the chapter. I missed out on a lot of points, but a 1 turn is a 1 turn. Cannot argue with that. Naysayers may have thought me silly for drafting all the SA people, but I feel like they hauled their weight if nothing else for this chapter alone. Chapter 54: Completed in 2 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 196 turns total with 54 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 59 turns total with 20 WP bonuses.) Momiji was benched, surprise surprise. 3 Fairies are back to doing 3 Fairies things. Zealed of course. Surprisingly, they can't one-shot this large ghost. No matter, though. Zealed and Roused again. Marisa gets some too so she can Final Spark from word one. Reimu takes a potshot at Utsuho before Yukari calls in the troops. They Zeal again and finish off the non. Marisa then one-shots the first spell. Reimu moves around to the left to aggro the hellcrows. The ship casts Valor and bides its time on the right for the same reason. These three musketeers are going to kill mooks and provide Will for the rest of my troops, and cash for my wallet. Aya needed to Supersonic to reach her position. Bosses love targeting Reimu, because her health is so low. Sometimes Utsuho will move at her and use Yatagarasu Dive, I prefer it when she sits still, though. After the carnage that is the EP, everyone with PDefeat is at 150 or higher, lmao. Kaguya gives everyone 70 EN back, because she can. I clean up zombies etc. down south, not going to show you all of it. Ship clears the card with its weakest weapon (and Marisa support). Since I'm on the last two spells, I start using Hermit Purple, because why not. What can I say? I love onis and I love Valor. That's a wrap, folks. The last set of character screens I'll give ya. Chapter 55: Completed in 2 turns with the WP bonus. (Overall: 198 turns total with 55 WP bonuses. | Game 3: 61 turns total with 21 WP bonuses.) Since this is the end of the draft, I just did a quick and dirty clear, and forgot to record it. Strategy was pretty much the same as 54, just without killing all the mooks for will and $, and not bothering Blessing/Cheering, since this isn't carrying over to Dream. I had to savescum a bit to have Marisa and Reimu dodge both Peta Flares on EP1, but aside from that it was easy. Assuming my count is correct, that means a finish with a final score of 143, which is 32 turns ahead of Proto. ...I get the feeling I might not be invited back to the next draft, lol. I might do a character/skills/etc. ranking post after this if anybody cares.
