Something I made cuz I'm bored. I remember breaking two cartridges in my life. One of them was a SMB+Duck Hunt cart. I was screwing around with a Level Select code that required two lines of code to do, and wondered what happened if I only entered the first line. I wound up in a water level where I couldn't move left or right and the music started to slow down and the swimming sound effects started to get warped sounding. I shut it off after getting rather creeped out (I was 10-ish at the time) and tried playing it without the Game Genie. The game select menu was skipped and it immediately cut to Duck Hunt's title screen but everything was grey and the selection icon was a grey box. Everything I tried to select merely resat the cart to the Duck Hunt screen so I couldn't really do anything.
The second game was my friend's copy of Link's Awakening DX. I played it and saw a title with a glitched name. I picked it out of curiosity and died immediately after it loaded. When I hit "Save and Continue" it just crashed at a blank screen with a low hum buzzing. Whenever he tried to play it it crashed the same way at the file select screen. Looking back it was PROBABLY a save file issue I could've deleted with my Brain Boy (a gen1 Pokemon save editor that could actually be used to clear other games files as well if I wanted).
With games becoming mostly digital and disc-based these are a lot less likely to happen, but anyone else have any experiences like these?

Not so much me, or a cart, but my Virtua Fighter 5 disc. My dad decided to move the console(360) while the game was running, the disc made an awful scratching sound and had a huge ring around it. It never worked again.
