Personal Favourite Achievements of 2016: First try EoSD MariB LNB. Never used this shot type on lunatic before and I had no idea where her hitbox was.
Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2016: 519M(C) with a cornerbombless s3, Meister double ko, and four bomb Gensokyo. I regret letting that run happen. Forgetting to save my 130M s4 and 254M s5 replays because of Spoileral. Not doing spins every run.
Favourite Achievements by Others of 2016: Too many to list. Everyone is too good at these games.
Goals for 2017: Find more time to play. Stop dying to Meiling. Get a decent score with ReimuB and the other three shot types. Normal 300M. Learn to score another game on the side. UFO? Hopefully I can do at least one of these.
Challenges to other players: Do your best and stream it! Or score EoSD that works too.

Goals for 2017: Play more and maybe 600m. Learn more IN and try getting a kuso score in that.

Personal Favorite Achievements of 2017: My UFO Lunatic 2.721b with SanaeB. Felt amazing when I finished the run on stream, and what made it even more amazing was that I was playing with the original game, so the score was bugged out. When I saw the score show on the results screen, I felt completely ecstatic. Definitely one of the most wonderful feelings I've experienced playing Touhou. Second place would be my first 2.5b clear (2.543b) that I achieved back in February. I felt even more joyful when I got it, since I worked on it for a few months at the time. That run really set the foundation for me for many things to come.
Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2017: I guess it would be a 2.7b potential run I had die at the end of Stage 5, and this happened a couple weeks or so before the 2.721b clear. I died while trying to summon the final blue UFO of the stage, which stung. Thankfully the next 2.7b potential run I had entering Stage 5 resulted in the clear, so no worries there.
Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017: KG's UFO Lunatic 2.908b with ReimuB, ニャムニャム's UFO Extra sweep, otd's TD Lunatic 4b with Youmu, SOC and Gobou breaching 700m in EoSD Lunatic with ReimuB, HUF's LoLK Lunatic 3.209b with Reisen, LYX's IN Lunatic 5.803b with Border Team, and Ranko's SA Lunatic 4.018b with ReimuA in regards to the east. As for the west, Obama's 5.263b IN Lunatic with Magic Team, seventh's MoF Extra WRs, spirit's MoF LNN, Mino's DDC Lunatic 1.906b with SakuyaB, Maribel's Samidare accomplishments, and RB's rapid growth in LoLK Lunatic scoring come to mind the most. But I'd say that many worked quite hard this year. Was nice to see all sorts of achievements!
Goals for 2018: UFO Lunatic 2.8b/2.9b first so I can see what I need to improve, then 3b is the supreme goal for the future. MoF 2b+ and see if I like the game.
CHALLENGES TO OTHER PLAYERS: Get a new computer so you can get your 5.5b, Obama! And RB, plz 3.5 :^)

Personal Favorite Achievements of 2017: If I get it before 2018 it'll be NMNB lunatic Junko. Otherwise it'll probably be EoSD ExNN, really proud of how I managed to go from nothing to perfect. Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2017: Choked hardcore on an EoSD LNB attempt that was 3M entering VI, which I find hilarious. I've only managed to recreate that scenario once, and got 5M. Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017: I'm really proud of Gastari for getting his SA LNB, that was one of the most heart warming moments I've ever seen in touhou. Yats getting LoLK LNN was also really cool, kinda sad I missed it/ Goals for 2018: EoSD LNN and if that happens I'll move to LoLK or IN CHALLENGES TO OTHER PLAYERS: Gastari, get PDH master! Personal Favorite Achievements of 2017: I managed to get four LNNs this year. SA, IN, HSiFS, and UFO. I also got a modest 1.9bil in DDC Lunatic.
Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2017: Uhhh... I guess the EoSD Scarlet Meister failure or something.
Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017: Honestly, I feel like everyone's been doing such a great job. We've got ZM who's been really working up in UFO. Obama in IN. Chumlum has been rocking those sexy 100 DS WRs. Yats with the LNNs. Same with spirit (welcome to the club!) Maribels aodrable Samidere WRs. Alicirno being cute as always. Gastari doing SA LNB! (yay!) Ultro's progress in EoSD. RB with the amazing LoLK runs (dude you're amazing at these games. Don't let anything or anyone tell you otherwise!). Zengeku for being a great pal. Honestly I could go on and I'm inevitably gonna forget people so if I do, I'm sorry!
Oh, and all the countless WRs and LNNs and cool stuff Japan has done.
Goals for 2018: Not sure if I can play but if I can, maybe finish EoSD LNN. Get LoLK LNN. Do DDC 2.1bil SakuyaB Lunatic.

CHALLENGES TO OTHER PLAYERS: Play! Do whatever you feel like you should do in Touhou. Dont' let anyone tell you that there is only way to play. It's a vidya' game. play for what you want to play for and know that there's many people out there that will support you.

Personal favorite achievements of 2017: 100 DS WRs was my best accomplishment yet. individually I am pretty pleased about most of the scenes I worked on for a longer time this year. This year I did a much more time per scene with fewer scenes played, to get substantial results. My top 10 favorite results this year is:
1. 9-7 Hatate 844,197 with a new strategy and beating a cheater at the top
2. 5-4 Aya 700,041 surprising 700k in this insane scene
3. 5-4 Hatate 873,318 insanely hard run great score
4. 10-3 Hatate 1,011,354 very lucky and difficult, hard to be patient
5. 12-8 with both chars, t1100 has me beaten here though, so maybe a return in the future
6. 5-2 with both chars. I thought of everything (I hope) to strategize this as high as possible
7. 8-7 Aya 661,871 extremely hard and quite luck based run
8. 11-1 Aya 1,514,918 great luck and perfect execution
9. 8-5 Hatate 2,119,955 very lucky
10. 6-3 Hatate 389,579 new strategy and close enough to optimal (barely missed 390 sadly). thanks to kirbycomment for picking this up because otherwise maybe I would never have found the new strategy and played the score this high.
It's also nice because I've run into problems physically with playing, but I still managed to overcome it and get some shit done.
Personal Biggest screw-ups: Definitely the 35 hours on EX6 Aya without ever meeting the luck goal. What a mindnumbing waste of effort. All that happened these 35 hours was that I improved my PB by 3 points. Total runs that are "close but not quite there" to luck goal is 19. (1.23m+ with goal being 1.243m). Total 1.22m runs is around 80-100 estimated, but I don't save them so not sure.
Favorite achievements by others: All of the EoSD crew is pretty high up there, with SOC, Gobou and izumico at the helm, and Deplore and Kana also doing very well. This is a game that has seen a lot of progress and activity from these great players. All of Kirbycomments and sevenths efforts in PoDD and MoF as well has been nice to follow when I have the time. I am not so up date on what is going on these days, so I am surely missing a lot, I know many players are doing some really remarkable stuff this year and I'm just not following most of it.
Goals for 2018: There is a lot left do in DS, so it will probably be another DS year for me. Just working on whatever I want in this game. in 2017 I've barely touched anything else 2hu-wise, but right now I'm trying EoSD LNN (PB: 1MNB) so maybe that as well if I can't do it in 2017, or another else I happen to want to do on the side (maybe other LNNs in PCB, MoF, UFO, or anything else that seems enticing). probably mostly DS though, maybe I can get Aya overall score up to 100m in 2018. It's close yet far. If I focus hardcore on the scnees with most total score missing I think maybe it could happen.
Challenges to others: be openminded, and be appreciative of the efforts that others have put in, even if u are playing differenst stuff. Watch (or play) some score runs and get more into the meta game of 2hu.

Personal Favourite Achievement of 2017: MoF Lunatic 5MNB. After overpracticing and choking a ton, bursting in with a 5M that perfects S5 and S6 was beautiful. PDH Master was also a nice personal milestone, even if it took well over 10k attempts in total to get there.
Personal Biggest Screw-Up of 2017: Not recording said 5MNB and not knowing about MoF's hilariously shoddy replays. Subsequently spending 30 hours of credits going after the 5M and never reaching it again, netting me my first big actual Touhou dip.
Favourite achievements by others: Spirit's MoF ReimuB LNN is one of the most bizarre and impressive runs I have seen. The movement exhibits a level of insane confidence that I don't even see in any scoreruns and makes it an extremely interesting watch. The Yats and Mino SA double LNN was the most exciting moment of the year and it was a joy to be around for that. HUF's sudden complete and utter curbstomping of LoLK lunatic baffled me among many, and RB's strides in the category are nothing short of breathtaking either.
Goals for 2018: MoF LNN seems like a certain candidate, there's a few patterns left to master before I can consider it but nothing a year can't solve. Furthermore, all Windows maingame LNBs, LoLK Normal 2.2b+ and to learn either the ISC or DS speedrun, because those kinda kick ass.
Challenges to others: Yats: speedrun DS, perhaps consider a venture into scoring if you manage to exhaust survival completely. ZM: Nuke the moon with Sanae. RB: get a 3b+ clear before your laptop keyboard collapses under you. Mino: take good care of your hands and yourself. Ultro and Gastari: More uncommon shot LNBs, they're always cool to see.

Personal Favorite Achievements of 2017: I did nothing I view as an accomplishment but I suppose 104.5m in B1 is the closest thing to it.
Personal Biggest Screw-Up of 2017: Scoring lower on the sanity index. Forgetting to save 95m extra replay. 9.99 trillion in CCWI. (why the f) I also played very little. Didn't improve much as a player.
Favourite achievements by others of 2017: FSX 749m in PoFV lunatic with Eiki, unfuckingbelievable. Easily one of the most impressive runs I've watched of... anything really.
Chum's 5-4 Hatate score deserves an honorable mention, partially because of the epic rant (completely unrelated to the scene itself) leading up to the score and because SURF.
Goals for 2018: Being less harsh on myself with the grand goal of having a run I can be somewhat happy with. Play more. CCWI Unlimited 13+ trillion with Type-II and something 'good' in Fairy Wars, who knows what this magical number is. Oh and I'll try my best to not pick up any more games.
Challenge to others: Play more and stream it!!!!

Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017 : A lot of things come to mind. Many LNNs by Yats and Mino, HSiFS LNNs by Amana, UFO LNN(N)s by KG, SA LNNs by SOC, FSX who got 749m in PoFV Lunatic with Eiki. Izumico who dominated HSiFS Extra. HUF who brought Reisen scoring quite far with RB in LoLK Lunatic. kisara's 2.625b with Sanae in LoLK Normal. dxk's WR with Reimu A in MoF Lunatic. Chum collected many WRs in DS. KirbyComment's scores in PoDD. seventh's WRs in MoF Extra. kana's progress and new strats in EoSD Lunatic. ZM's 2.7b in UFO. 5.1b by NC in IN.5.26b by Scala in IN (and he plays Magic Team, it's dank). kkgk who tried hard to have EoSD LNN, I'm sure he will have it! Personal Favorite Achievements of 2017: I'm generally proudest of all the work I got done with DDC survival this year, but specifically, my DDC LNB clear with ReimuB is the culmination of all that. One of the hardest Touhou challenges I've ever done, but immensely rewarding once I got it. Honorable mentions go to my SA Lunatic 1-life clear (which is what got me back into Touhou in the first place after a year off) and being afaik one of the first people in the world to capture Breezy Cherry Blossom on Lunatic (notable also because I had to shake off a lot of rust really quickly to do it).
Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2017: Not getting Lunatic no-release 1ccs with every shot in HSiFS. Getting de-motivated from repeated failures is still a problem of mine, apparently.
Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017: Mino and Yatsuzume's various LNNs take the cake for me. Their "double SA LNN" earlier in the year was hype, and Yatsuzume being iirc the first Westerner to LNN a game (HSiFS in this case) before any Japanese players (though not first overall) was cool in its own way.
Goals for 2018: Most of the things I have on my to-do list really don't have a set schedule, but one thing I definitely want to do in 2018 is score over 2 billion in TD Lunatic with Reimu, the only scoring challenge among my "older" (pre-2014) challenges and the last one left in that list as well. Oh, and finish up those HSiFS LNR 1ccs with every shot lol.
Challenges to Other Players: No matter what you do, don't get discouraged! Don't be afraid to do what you want, and don't let others (or yourself!) put you down because it's not among the top-tier kinds of survival or scoring challenges.

Personal Favorite Achievements of 2017:
- PoDD: Sweeping Easy, Normal and Hard and getting 3 records on Lunatic
- PoDD: 120m achieved on Lunatic with Kotohime, Ellen and Mima
- SA: LNB (7 Miss)
- DS: Getting a few WRs, despite just starting to score (though they were very quickly beaten)
Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2017:
- LLS: Dying on an easy Yuuka pattern in a 153m pace run on Hard
- LLS: Failing several Extra No Shooting runs by dying to something stupid
- MS: Dying on all of my Easy scorerun PBs at least twice
- LoLK: Failing to get any further than Clownpiece in LNB-attempts + 0.0% caprate on PDH (minimum of 3 lost lives)
Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017:
- ニャムニャム for getting every UFO Extra record (also raising overall to 740m)
- HUF for raising LoLK Lunatic to 3.2b
- DS 100 WR-milestone by Chum
- MegaPulse for raising GFW to 128m
- seventh for beating a few MoF Extra records
Goals for 2018:
(might not aim for all of these)
- SoEW: Lunatic WR
- PoDD: 130m on Lunatic with Mima

Personal favourite achievements in 2017: IN 2.3 billion with Border team, because I was able to like this run a lot even though it had quite some flaws. Honorable mentions to my first Lunatic 1CC (EoSD) in April and my first LNB (EoSD as well) in Oktober. Personal biggest screw-ups of 2017: Trying too hard for Remilia LNN, I think. I got pretty frustrated sometimes even though I swore that I was only ever going to play Touhou for having fun. Also remaining way too unenthusiastic when HSiFS came out. I should have partaken in the hype  Favourite achievements of others (in 2017): Trick's first LNB. Mino's LNNs, all of them. Yats' LoLK LNN. Obama's (first) 5 billion run. ZM's 2.7 billion in UFO. Also, the LoLK Reisen players, both HUF and RB! Oh, and SOC's 709M in EoSD. Goals for 2018: Definitely more scoring: 2.5 billion in IN Extra, maybe 2.7 if I keep having fun. Also getting into some other score categories I've thought about for a while (or at least trying them). Getting an LNN Remilia fight. Also definitely starting to stream with voice. Some other things that would be nice to get but aren't as important include LNNN Okina, 95/95 StB, PCB LNB, PhNNN and capping PDH. Challenges to other players: Do attempt some things that are "beyond your level", at least from time to time, but keep having fun with Touhou. Specific wishes challenges of mine: Chroma, pls stream LoLK Reisen Normal Scoring sometime. Trick, put more credits into IN LNB (also stream). ZM and Obama, I'd love to see 3b and 5.5b respectively. Cuppy, could you please get EoSD LNB already?

Personal favorite achievements in 2017: Skipping 1m Remi, going from 2m lunatic remi to LNN remi very, very quickly. EoSD hnb in 2 real months after creditfeeding and 2 1/1 book attempts were also very nice.
Personal biggest screw-ups of 2017: I choked like 10~ runs in my EoSD hnb, and choked 2 of them very badly, ragequitting touhou for 1 month. I got on the ground and groveled/prayed to remi after my worse choke, and didn't even save the replay because of how shook I was. Getting much more tilted is another, ever since my lnn remi. Honorable mentions are 1/45 meister, 1/2xx books, 1/3xx books.
Favorite achievements of others (in 2017): Ultro's and Trick's LNBs and streams (first touhou streams I ever watched), Akaldar's LNB streams (putting in 300x the credits and work than I usually do), Mino and Yats' LNNS. Also, Ultro puts in a fuck ton of effort and never gives up and it really shows.
Goals for 2018: NN Flan, NN Mokou, manage tilt and toxicity, some way-off goals are LNB EoSD (It's not happening before the new year due to bad irl holiday and environment rng), score a decent score in EoSD, LNB IN, NN yuyuko, do something in a game that isn't eosd-pcb-in, stream

Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2017: Playing with the worst possible mentality during the time I went for EoSD LNB (and about 2 months after too) and taking too much time to realize this.
Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017: I will probably forget some people, so forgive me: Phanton (Normal 1cc with all shots in all games, I really admire his dedication), ZeroPride (LNBs), Shnippy(EoSD LNB, IN Extra scoring), Yats and Mino's LNN(N)s, ZM (UFO 2.7b), Zig (PC-98), Maribel (Samidare), Dagoth (LNBs), Obama (IN 5.26b). Also all the score/survival achievements EoSD players got and everyone else who I forgot to mention.
Goals for 2018: More LNBs, more ExNN(N)s, getting a decent score in EoSD (hard first, then lunatic and maybe normal), stream more. Those are the main goals, but who knows how things will evolve. Maybe I will become a super pro and be able to LNN EoSD
Oh right, IN solo Remilia LNB is something I might consider
CHALLENGES TO OTHER PLAYERS: Phanton and Shnippy please stream with a mic. Zero stop dying in Ketsui 2-2 and get the 2-all. On a more serious note, play what you feel like, no matter what "tier" is your goal, enjoy the game. It's just a game at the end of the day.

Personal Favorite Achievements of 2017: 5mnb in UFO, with lots of silly deaths
Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2017: 9 evaccaner gameovers, and no ketsui 2-all in 2017
Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017: Lots of stuff,done both by vets and newer players, but to make it short, KG's 2,9b reimuB and his all shot lnn of UFO
Goals for 2018:: ketsui ura 2-all, UFO lnn, CCWI non type Z unlimited clear, getting into UFO & CCWI scoring, checking out DDP DOJ, some random touhou LNBs maybe. It's an ambitious list, hopefully i can complete a good chunk of the stuff in there.
P.S : also let's see if i'll be able to stream stuff in 2018
Challenge to other players: Trick, get some motivation back and go for more LNBs, Phanton play more on lunatic, you have the skills. Other people, keep on aiming higher

I'd like to join the thread, I'm really sorry for having missed it for 1 month  : Personal Favorite Achievements of 2017:EoSD Normal 1cc. It's the first game I have been playing with and it passed a lot of time since than. I'm satisfied I got a real achievement for a game that has a special place in my heart. Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2017:MoF Easy 1cc. I've underestimated Kanako. It was a one shot game and I didn't know how much easier the game could have been compared with Normal. I could get No Miss until got hit on the third Kanako's non-spell and didn't succeed; ok, not everything was lost, tried for No Bomb Easy; couldn't end the last spell with remaining 4 lives and got forced to use bombs on the last one. Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017:Nothing. At the moment I'm playing on my own. But one day I will start watching other people for sure... Goals for 2018:SA Normal 1cc, it's a challenging game and I'm learning a lot from it. PCB Normal 1cc, I really want to unlock the fluffy Ran. Working on EoSD, IN, MoF Extras. Going Hard. Challenge to other players:In HSiFS, when using Spring subseason, I really like the mechanics of waiting until you max seasonal gauge and then going kamikaze style into the bullet hell clearing the screen. The challenge for you is to maximize the score increment in a single release of subseason. At the end, be creative and have fun! Try other routes, play weird styles, something interesting will come out for sure! |

Personal Favorite Achievements of 2017: EOSD 4M, both ReimuB & ReimuA. I had played for around two months hoping to push my ReimuB PB from 8M down to a 6M, for most of that time I would only ever get occasional 8M runs. Then near the end in the span of a week and a half, I started clearing at a consistent rate, got a few 7Ms then I get a random 4 miss out of nowhere, going straight past my goal of 6M and right to the goal I had in mind after it. After that I started playing ReimuA as a side goal, going for just a clear. I had a run that got to stage 6 with 4 lives, then lolNNremilia and finished 4M with mostly random deaths. Those runs formed the foundation for everything I wanted to go for after that, and marked the point where I felt I was sort of breaking through the wall. I also look back very fondly on when me and a bunch of other people got together to do IN ExNN for DRC.
Personal Biggest Screw-ups of 2017: When I got an EOSD LNN up to stage 6 and ended up getting 6M instead. Also, a MOF LNB attempt where I entered stage 5 with 6 lives only to 5M Sanae, then claw and scratch my way to VOWG, ultimately ending in a VOWG gameover.
Favorite Achievements by Others of 2017: CopperMarten's LOLK LNB (one of the first grinds on stream I watched and a lot of what sparked my desire to go for LNBs myself), Gastari's SA LNB, streetmachino's PCB 2M1R, Akaldar's IN 3M, spirit's MOF LNN, Yats beating Japan to HSIFS LNN, kana's 633m, kkgk's inspiring determination in the face of several 1Ms, HUF and RB generally being boss at LOLK.
Goals for 2018: Defeat RL first, then go for EOSD LNN and learn lunatic scoring in the hope I can go for 600m one day. If I get the chance to do any of this, I also want to get comfortable enough to stream with mic at some point.
Challenge to other players: I don't know if Ilikebulletz is still around, but if you are, get PCB LNNN plz. kkgk, don't ever give up on EOSD LNN. ZeroPride, get UFO LNN plz.
