So I'm trying to record touhou games for my youtube channel, however whenever i record it with OBS the framerate seems to fluctuate between 45 fps and 60, normally settling around 50. This is obviously not ideal. I don't know why its doing this because i've recorded much more intensive games successfully. I've tried recording touhou 6,8, and 10 all with this same issue. I've tried changing priority even tried changing processor core affinities to no avail. If it helps i can't help but notice my CPU is only at 55 percent while i'm recording, which is strange to me but you tech savvy people will know this far better then I. If this is in the wrong spot i apologize go ahead and move it mods.

Hmm, are you using "window capture" or "game capture"? I know the former tends to cause game lag when I'm streaming, but the latter tends to have window sizing issues...
Other than that, capturing video in any way puts a heavier load on your computer. What CPU do you have?

I use game capture and yes the window sizing is a bit akward but i've found a way to make it look decent. And I know recording puts a heavy load on the Central Proccessing Unit but i can't help but feel thats not the issue due to touhou being a very light game and my CPU being only at 55 percent. Makes me feel like its something on the software end of things. Because anytime i've ever had significant lag in anything my CPU has been at minimum 80 percent.

Hmmm. Well, this is a longshot, but whatever. There's two versions of OBS, 32bit and 64bit. Maybe you have the wrong one for your system?
Aside from that, you could try cleaning out your computer a little bit to make sure it's not a memory or CPU thing. Get a cleaner program.
Aside from that, I'm not sure.
