Hi,
I'm Mister IceTeaPeach... and probably the worst Touhou player in this forum.
Only have played IN and haven't passed the sixth stage.
So yeah, now you know my skills in this series. ;<
In general I'm only a "hobby" player.
Mainly the soundtrack fascinates me.
I'm better at JRPGs and strategical games (Fire Emblem, Tales Of, Persona...).
Maybe I can improve myself here... and finish a Touhou game sometime...
Don't expect from me a huge activity in this forum, because I know pretty much nothing about this series.

There are two things, which really bother me in Zestiria: 1. The emptiness of dungeons: There are very few monsters in the dungeons and world map. It really takes a while till you face one. Consequently it takes more time to grind. 2. The camera angle: Unlike in the other parts the camera angle isn't from the side anymore, but behind the character. It's a change I can't deal with. I've problems to see all the enemies. It's ok, if you fight one enemy... but against multiple enemies it becomes confusing for me and I lose the overview. It might be good for other people, but I dislike this camera angle while the battles. At least this game could give the choice between the classical side angle and the mentioned one. But at least it features one of my favorite videogame characters.The thing is I still have to finish seven Tales of parts (Symphonia, Dawn to the new world, Vesperia, Graces, Xillia 1, Xillia 2 and Zestiria). Only have completed Abyss yet. @ Crystal Clear

Well, admittedly, Zestiria is thew first Tales of I'm playing. The characters are pretty nice overall, but I wholeheartedly agree on the camera issue. Depending on the scenery you're fighting in, even fights against one enemy is a nightmare if you're surrounded by trees and stuff. One of the most frustrating battles I had to go through was 1v1 and I kept losing because I could only see the leaves on a tree. >:c I do recommend the game for the characters and plot, your party is pretty great and the plot is interesting enough. I guess it's probably hard to deal with some problems it has if you're a veteran in the series though. |

There's no need to be embarrassed when you suck at first, because that means at least you're trying! There are a few really good players here but you wouldn't be able to tell just by talking to them, without years of exposure to the subtleties and nuances of western 2hu politics. This is not similation. Get ready to destroy the enemy. Target for the weak points of fuggin machine. Do your best you have ever done. ^_^ |

Tbh I'm no expert in this series, because I only have completed one part yet and played other parts not as much yet. The camera angle in Zestiria wouldn't bother be probably, if I didn't know the other parts. About the story I can't say much just because of the lacking gameplay time. In general all Tales of parts except for Dawn to the new world have interesting story and characters. I'm playing Vesperia atm, which also has a few issues in the battles and is one of the harder parts. However in the PS3 version you can use up to nine different characters. Abyss is the only part I've finished yet. It was pretty much perfect for me. I really love it. It might be a bit too easy, but for a newcomer like you I absolute recommend this one. Same goes for Symphonia, the probably most popular part in this series. I've noticed that are a few lurkers here, who don't play Touhou. I know them from the other forum I'm (way more) active. I only mentioned my skills in this series that no one shall expect from me that I can talk much here. I'm just here to get information to improve my playstyle and try out other parts besides IN. |

However if you'd like to play/chat about it you always can, there're some chats on skype in which you can so if you want to (and got Skype) you always can ask to join one. My general advice would be to look up some replays; to work further based on that. If you don't want to bother scoring you don't per se have to, such stuff can always come later if you feel like that. w |
