If you actually remember this gem of a PS1 game, good on ya, son.
If not...well, some things are better left unsaid. But anyways, let me go over the premise of this masterpiece.
Legend of Legaia takes place on an alternate version of Earth in the distant past, sometimes called Legaia. There're these entities called Seru that humans can/could absorb to gain abilities such as flight and superhuman strength. However, a deadly Mist appeared which caused the Seru to become incredibly hostile. If someone absorbed a Seru with the Mist surrounding them, they become a monstrous form they cannot control.
In terms of gameplay, I'd describe it as a bit of a mix between Street Fighter and Final Fantasy. You have the standard turn-based combat shtick, but you can input specific attacks with left and right punches and high and low kicks. If you combine these in a specific sequence, you can perform an Art, an upgraded attack. Later on, you get a certain wrist-mounted device that enables you to cast magic absorbed by Seru. Magic can be leveled up all the way to level 9 usually, although it depends on the magic.
So, yeah. Discuss.
