What did Mokou do during her life?

I think Mokou is simply going through a phase, or a side effect of the Hourai Elixir. You know how the Hourai Elixir is able to keep you from ever getting sick? Well I also think that pertains to mental ailments as well, but while the Hourai Elixir is supposed to also keep you from having mental ailments (practically making you Zen), it can still sometimes cause insanity depending on the drinker. Kaguya clearly did not suffer the side effects likely because it was made with her power anyway and also the fact she's a Lunarian and has superior strength, endurance and stamina. However, Mokou is not a Lunarian, she's a normal human being. She might go through phases of insanity, which makes her want to kill herself.
As for a simple phase, because Mokou is normal human being and is living much longer than a human ever could without being a hermit or celestial, she's not 'getting' it. During those 1200 years, Mokou was merely doing the things she clearly had in mind of doing. Becoming a powerful mage, particularly in fire. She found Kaguya, and she's had the chance to have death battles with her all of this time, but now she seems to have gotten bored with it. Mokou isn't really doing anything meaningful with her life, or at least she feels that way. What meaningful thing is an immortal person supposed to do? She hasn't found that answer.
To compare, ever since the events of IN, Kaguya as taken it upon herself to take care of a Hourai Bonsai. When the impurities of the Earth finally overtake Eientei, the bonsai will bloom with its rainbow hourai tree branches. She's been doing it because she found this activity to be meaningful, taking care of something that could potentially have a lifespan like her.
Now does this Mokou should take care of a tree too? I dunno. Does this mean Mokou is cursed to forever go through periodic bouts of insanity? I dunno. These are the conclusions I've come to.
