Sad that it's the day after I get the game and I have 0 motivation to play it.
But maybe the Extra stage is more balanced? It has no Point Device mode for ZUN to get confused over balancing issues, after all.

The Extra stage is more balanced, at least the stage portion (it's actually pretty tame also), though the boss's nonspells look like someone merged Koishi and Yukari's nonspells and then ultrapatched them (I'm probably doing them wrong, but they are very dense) |

If the gameplay is bad, the game is bad even if characters, music and whatnot are amazing. LoLK is the sort of game you could have made in danmakufuku and it wouldn't be out of place at all next all to million other scripts. It doesn't have the 2hu charm at all. I can't believe people still think ZUN has still got it like in the old days when all games in the last 4 years have been disasters. |

You could have the best gameplay in the world and without music/pretty pictures/(maybe characters too, idk) it would be bland and dull to play. Besides, it's not really like I was disagreeing with NC, I was just nuancing my opinion. I think the music is fairly decent - it's not top tier but it's for the most part far better than DDC and TD's soundtracks. I think the plot is interesting. None of this makes up for the fact that the game is balanced horribly and really unpolished in a lot of areas (particularly final boss), so overall the game is not good. |
