Touhoumon Draft 2: Purple Edition

I SAID I WAS TRYING AND I SAID I WAS HAVING TROUBLE, I WASN' LYING.



My strategy involved ACTUALLY using the X-stat items to boost Alice's Defenses and SpAtk so Alice could stomach Chen's Quick Attacks and Fury Swipes with minimal damage. I needed to have Alice be at high health so she didn't eat her Oran Berry.
Nazrin was evil and her Mirror Shot would take off a massive ~20 HP off Alice, and considering she outsped Alice I needed to keep the HP high, hence the need for Oran Berry.
Momiji was use potion to keep Alice from immediately dying at 5 hp, and became a game of keeping Moiji's attack stat from going too high by growling at her howls, Aurora Beam helped too when it did the attack drop. Also fuck first boss Sitrus Berries.
my Momiji's job was to be a low level to abooze the system bcuz otherwise I couldn't do jackshit to the boss. Trust me I tried with a balanced team. >.>
My score's 12, and I'm curious how everyone else's gonna handle Roxy. ZM has SunnyMilk and therefore has this gym in the bag but Aki doesn't look like he'll have nearly as good a time with this.

Can we all agree that Brawly sucks?

Anyways, I finally beat Brawly.


my strategy for this fight was to have Alice as the lead, switch to Momiji to avoid a Super Effective Fake-out, and then send Hina out from there (she resists Decision and Charge Beam).
After that I just had Alice take everything else out. Sara and TIchirin got nothin on doll girl.

Score up to now is 14

So by that technicality I'm technically winning at this point. Wheee.

Update because I just beat Archie.

This was the absolute most relieving thing to see because in the same turn Suwako moved first and proced the confusion and this was Archie's last mon and if Alice kicked herself I would be quite livid.

But after enough mental whining the RNGod Archie ceded.

Also now I have access to the daycare and now can breed a Momiji with the proper nature and ability and can thus promote her to something other than meatshield.

Is there any reason for me to keep on I'm srsly not sure if this is even dead.

Anyways, i decided not to breed and ev train Momiji for a variety of reasons, that include
-I should wait and leave an Aya in the daycare until she evolves and learns Extremespeed
-there's not a good EV spot for Attack until after Wattson anyways
-I can get Yumeko at that point anyways.
so i stopped half way (which is why her stats will be off i think since different mon) and used the Incubator to reset Alice's level and EVs (which is why she now will say hatched and has a different level)

it took loong.

Wattson was annoying to fight since his TIku could hit Super Effectively against Alice, one shotted Momiji, and could paralyze Hina. Then there was CTojiko who was faster than everything else and spat in the face of type charts by having a Flying type move, telling you to go suck a nut for having a Beast Type.
and Luna Child was just not very nice and could outspeed and shit.
after a LOT of resets and retries I managed to get Hina to survive the TIku scrape, leaving her alive and able to hit Luna Child with a poison jab, then on the turn CHina would die (due to being slower and would get attacked first) I'd heal Alice from the damage CTojiko did and would have her tank Luna Child's hit and Aurora Beam for game. RNG permitting that a crit doesn't happe-

Oh wait shit i gotta EV train more.

Eirin wasn't particularly difficult to train since she needed Speed and Defense and a little SpAtk, and the speed hotspot is super early and the others are weak to poison.
Yumeko was hard. Speed was easy enough to get but HP was tedious as Tokiko is JUST uncommon enough to make the process take forever.
Attack was absolutely horrible because the hotspots were either against CYuugi in firey path who can SE hit Yumeko with the other common encounter being CRin who has fire, or Momiji in the routes immediately outside Firey Path who hits quite hard and also has Heart Types as other common encounters who are hard to run from.
it took long And eventually i found out its actually faster to save after every fight and reset if i get something that isn't Momiji or runnable. And i do it in real time too my emu has no Fastforward.
also the levels of the hotspots are quite different which is why Yumeko is so far ahead of Eirin, even after i used expshare to divert half the exp Yumeko'd get onto something else.

Anyways Maxie time. And I prolly should've picked a better team of early mons cuz Poison and Steel and Beast arent gonna do much to a team that has lotta Ground and Fire moves. Hina floating helps though and had a fun trapper battle against TSuika.

i didnt take a picture of it saying ZAK HAS DE-FEETED MAXIE so my victory prolly doesnt count anymore. :c

also Alice learns a new coverage and I seriously need to stop using her until I can get to Lilycove cuz I wanna evolve her into Black/Dark/Goth/Angry Alice.

i caught her but i dont feel like doing all the EV mess until I get to hotspots with faster ev spreads.

also caught a Rumia for the sole purpose of Thiefing.

Namazu was the absolute most annoying thing ever. I got Hina do Wrap Namazu down low enough to the point where Yumeko could Feint and kill.
i told you.

SKoishi was a bit tricky and AdYukari didn't scare Yumeko at all.

Incidentally he also said something along he lines of "did I really lose to Zak...?" Which is the typical reaction people have when they lose to me.

if I was smart id have had Sara be on my team to law of average my score lower but it'd only be a difference of .14 and i'm probably winning just by participation at this point so that kind of minmaxing isn't even necessary.
