I found out about this yesterday, but since I do not see a thread for respects here yet... www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2015/150713e.pdfNintendo Co., Ltd. stated yesterday that Satoru Iwata has died due to his bile duct cancer at the age of 55. Iwata was known for his programming genius and major impact on the gaming industry. He completely reprogrammed the messily coded Mother 2 to get it a release, compressed the coding of Pokémon's second gen allowing the entire region of Kanto to fit on the cartridge, and finished and perfected the code of the first two entries in the Suoer Smash Bros. Series in the nick of time. Rest in Peace, Mr. Iwata. Our regards go directly to you and your family.

He also cut his salary in half at the time the 3DS wasn't doing so hot in sales.
Truly an amazing man.

RIP Mr.Satoru Iwata,i heard this in the morning,i thought it isn't really true, and now i'm seeing this thread and see that it's actually true. It's Sad to lose an good person like he is . I wonder who will replace him cause he is kinda irreplaceable, even though Nintendo were having problems with the Budget . He has done only good decisions...

(Credits to AlpharadTV on Youtube for the video) "On my business card, I'm a corporate president. On my mind, I'm a game developer. On my heart, I'm a gamer." Rest in peace, you wonderful man. You'll be missed, by Nintendo fans and non-Nintendo fans alike. Thank you, and may that Rainbow Road take you to heaven safely.

Today when I woke up, I thought it was going to be a good day. I saw the first Iwata confirmed dead post and I was thinking to myself It can't be true? So I scroll down, two more posts about the same thing appears, so I google it... And then I see it. Iwata dead at 55. That feeling of knowing a CEO who had a very bad E3 dead struck me harder than a train. I knew then and there I had to post about it; I do that. And I log ont my PC and I check my subsrupction, GameXplain had did two videos about it, so I watch them, I don't think I have felt this sad in a damn long time. So I decided to make two more posts about it. And this is the quote I will remember from this day, the proud post I made: “His last E3 was the most hated one… But yet; today we lay down our console controllers and we look up at heaven, thinking of the ones who have fallen. And we cry.” And to all the haters and such, come back to hate on his mistakes a few months after this has died down. But don't do it on the day the world learns about it. He is a human being; and like all humans, they can be stripped away from us with no second thoughts. - Pikmin.

I hope this philosophy can ring truer in people's hearts. Rest in peace Satoru Iwata.
