Yes, I think ULiL will be out between May and August.
I'd like to try a fighting game soon, should I try UNL/ Soku?

I enjoy it. It was the game that made me like Miko, after all. I'm kinda confused why nobody from the Moriya shrine is playable, since it's... ya know, a game about fighting for religious followers, something that would be completely in character for them. But they're just background objects in Nitori's and Mamizou's stages. I'd main KanakoWow thats a really really good point. I'm actually kinda confused why stuff like Nitori is there. Kanako really would fit right in. I guess for plot reasons? Moriya has been pretty big in terms of touhou plots. Nitori got dragged in for the most part. She was originally just going to scam everyone and wound up fighting for popularity with the religious leaders. Koishi's presence resulted in some interesting development for her, imo. Sadly, the Mask of Hope starts losing its power effectively reverted her back to the way she was before finding it. Moriya has had a large influence on Touhou plots, yeah. They indirectly caused Byakuren and Miko to show up... making their restriction to background weirder, since they accidentally caused these competitors for faith, and they'd have to get that faith back somehow. Their small role in what was basically the grand finale of their plot era was odd. I guess Suwako and to a lesser extent Sanae are kinda justified by Soku... but Kanako not participating kinda (really) contradicts her character. Same for Sanae, tbh.

Imo Kanako isn't really a frontline fighter. After all, the only reason she won against the Suwa, was because the Suwa were using iron weapons for reasons I do not understand. But yeah, not much of a reason lol

HM is really fun. I really like the whole "jumping down" idea and some of the unique character attributes were really cool, even if they were imbalanced. Except Byakuren and Nitori, their special effects are just plain dumb >_>
HM also has playable Koishi, who is one of my top five Touhou characters, and I find it really fun to play as her. HM is my favorite Touhou fighting game, in fact, but I haven't played it as much as Soku because Fera got rid of his old laptop after HM and we didn't play much since then.
I don't really care about HM's story though.

My only issue with HM was the lack of an active community and the lack of a rollcaster to help cut down lag between players. The game itself is fun, but not even having a high/low mixup is a little silly.
