Aww. I theorize the "Easy Modo" presentation was particularly offensive to inexperienced players, and really demoralized them from joining in and investing more into Touhou, but I always continuously support newcomers; in fact, when I first played, I didn't even know where the fire button was, and died on Cirno, with a full continue. Ha. Ah, finally someone who gets it. I play on high difficulties and do some pretty hard stuff in the shoot 'em ups, yet I've always felt like using the "Easy Modo" meme is just enormously rude myself. I'm happy to know that more people think of the usage as bad, since if there's anything I want, then it is for others to have fun in the games they're playing; to feel accepted regardless of their chosen difficulties. For all you know, that one "Easy Modo" player could very well be an awesome player in the future.

Entertainment is entertainment regardless of preference of difficulty. Being entertained shouldn't be surrendering to experience player's expectations to other's aptitude of skill, it's demoralizing, stressful, and completely disregarding the factual ecidence that nearly every player struggled continuously during their arrival to Touhou. That's not fun, it's hurtful.

That's not fun, it's hurtful. Entertainment is what you play games for, considering some think that "skills" or "high difficulties" only matter makes me a bit sad. I've never really heard an opinion about the "Easy Modo" meme which was about the same as mine to say the least, happy to know that some people understand the blood, sweat; tears many players have had to go through to achieve what they got. And even if they don't, it's a game. Games are solely made for the purpose of fun, otherwise nobody (or about nobody) would play them. Disregarding that fact; acting like it's all about your skill-level to matter is something I've always disliked. No matter what skill-level someone may have, if they had fun with playing then I'm more than happy for them.

Touhou, or rather any extremely difficult form of entertainment, requires a significant amount of skills to achieve victory, and the growth process shouldn't be demoralizing and stressful, it should be an experience and enlightening. We try to encourage players' growth, not slander their current aptitude.
