Happy new year everyone! Hope 2017 was really nice for all of you and that your touhou careers were nice and fruitful during this year. I thought of making a thread where you could post timelines of your achievements from 2017! Up to you to decide which ones you feel like posting and which ones you feel like leaving out, as well as adding comments to the achievements.

I'll start:

1/6/2017: SA normal 1cc (Marisa C) ~ This was a pretty big deal to me, since at the time SA felt like the most impossible and out of this world thing I could ever do. Also the first of my dumb loud reactions, which is probably a bad thing.

1/18/2017: EoSD Extra NB (Marisa B) ~ Didn't really pay much attention to it since I really wanted NN, but felt nice nonetheless to get my first extra NB.

1/20/2017: EoSD Hard 1cc (Marisa B) ~ First hard 1cc and first hard credit ever lol

1/22/2017: IN extra clear (Ghost team)

1/25/2017: Lunatic books cap (Marisa B) ~ Was 1/1 on them for months to come rofl

2/6/2017: PCB Phantasm clear (Marisa B)

2/14/2017: PCB Hard 1cc (Marisa B)

3/4/2017: EoSD ExNN (Marisa B) ~ This was a huge deal to me, my first really good achievement that I was super proud of. Worked quite a bit for this one.

3/21/2017: EoSD Lunatic 1cc (Marisa B) ~ This didn't take long at all to grind, but I felt pretty bad and unsatisfied with it, despite capturing killing doll in it. Still first loony is pretty fine, finished 1/0 too.

4/17/2017: PCB Phantasm NNN (Marisa B) ~ This run was a huge pride for me for a really long time, didn't grind too much for it cause I kinda lacked motivation. Still glad I pulled through, DBDB cap was sick.

5/2/2017: NMNB Lunatic Sakuya (Marisa B) ~ Got it pretty quick, kinda lucked through it. Got another one the same day which had worse rng as well, very surprizing.

5/16/2017: NMNB Lunatic Patchouli (All shots) ~ After being burned out of LNB this was a fun side goal I did and was super proud of, would watch it a lot. Got lucky with Marisa A though, never lost an attempt to megalith or cromlech.

5/24/2017: EoSD ExNN (Reimu B)

6/8/2017: NMNB Lunatic Remilia (Marisa B) ~ I was extremely proud of this, I worked pretty hard during a week to get it and it payed off. Tons of 1MNBs and even more 2MNBs came before it. Remilia as first stage 6 boss perfect is pretty tough but it was worth it.

6/20/2017: EoSD LNB (Marisa B) ~ First LNB, made me feel extremely good for a pretty long period of time, then that feel good kinda died out. The meister cap in that was pretty damn solid as well.

6/27/2017: NNN Lunatic Prismrivers (Marisa B) ~ Decided to play a bit of PCB to relax from EoSD lowmiss grinding and practice, was comfy

6/29/2017: NNN Lunatic Youmu (Marisa B)

6/30/2017: NNN Lunatic Yuyuko (Marisa B)

7/5/2017: PCB Lunatic 1cc (Marisa B)

7/24/2017: NMNB Lunatic Shinki (Marisa) ~ This is where I started my "all stage 6 boss perfect" meme, settled on Shinki for next cause she wasn't too hard and I really liked Mystic Square

7/25/2017: NMNB Lunatic stage 6 Yuuka (Marisa A)

7/29/2017: PDH Lunatic Capture (Marisa) ~ Wanted to do Junko next. Cap came 400 attempts in. Little did he know that the next one would take 1800... Also needless to say Junko was way more than I could chew

8/1/2017: EoSD L7MNB (Marisa B) ~ First miss pb, really happy it happened since I had been wanting to clear again for a long time, so the little extra is nice. 2nd LNB as well

8/1/2017: EoSD L6MNB (Marisa B) ~ Then this happened too, was completely taken away. 2M entering stage 6 too.

8/28/2017: EoSD ExNN (Reimu A)

9/15/2017: EoSD L5MNB (Marisa B)

9/18/2017: LNN entering Sakuya in EoSD (Marisa B) ~ Happened in a call with Cactu out of the blue, got super nervous though and ended up 7Ming lol. My next credit (2 days later I think) ended up also reaching Sakuya NN, and 5Med.

11/2/2017: NMNBFS Lunatic Eirin (Solo Marisa) ~ After being hospitalized and losing track of stuff, focusing a lot on EoSD, I was playing IN in call with Gastari and tried out the Eirin patterns. Capped hourai elixir blind and remembered my stage 6 boss perfect goal, decided to go for Eirin cause I loved the fight, the music and the character, and she was the very first boss I wanted to be able to NN in the past. Very happy about it, saved my touhou career even by providing an alternative to burning out in EoSD.

11/19/2017: NMNB Lunatic Byakuren (Marisa A) ~ Decided after a week break to do Byakuren next to get her out of the way, being inspired by Gastari's UFO streams. Got her in a week, pretty happy with it, and the boss was overall a nice experience.

11/25/2017: NMNB Lunatic Clownpiece (Marisa) ~ Had just started to grind Junko, and didn't want to burn out so I did Clownpiece. Definitely don't regret it, very fun boss.

12/6/2017: Lunatic PDH MASTER (Marisa) ~ After an extremely long grind I finally managed to capture PDH 100 times, finishing the job I had started in the summer. I convinced myself to never give up no matter what like I had in the past on Junko, and PDH master was a very rewarding and satisfying milestone to achieve. 3880 attempts total for MASTER, 400 for first cap and 1800 for second, 1600 to finish the job.

12/27/2017: NMNB Lunatic Junko (Marisa) ~ This was the magnum opus of my touhou year and career. Nothing has ever been this hard for me. I played a total of 85 hours for this boss NN, and it was well worth it. I lost a lot of confidence towards the latter parts of the grind, but managed to clutch through some good mentality during the final 3 hours of grinding, and it was well worth it. This will be my best achievement for a long time.

Overall 2017 has been a very fulfilling year for me, went from being barely able to 1cc SA on normal all the way to being able to perfect the hardest boss in the series. All of which was done with Marisa, save a few IN clears in the beginning of the year, done with netherworld. I absolutely do not regret using Marisa for all of these, as I feel like she definitely deserves more love than she gets, and that the challenge makes the reward as well as the grind that much more satisfying. My goals for 2018 are to finish NMNBing the bosses on my list (Kaguya, Kanako, Okuu, Miko, Sukuna and Okina are left), as well as get either a really low miss run of EoSD or an LNN with Marisa B. If that happens early enough I'll also consider learning LoLK, with Marisa of course

1/31/2017 - First capture of Imperishable Shooting; kinda relevant because it would become my favourite spell later on. Also it took 378 attempts.
2/12/2017 - Pacifist 1CC of PCB Normal with SakuyaB. It was an interesting goal and it probably remains my favourite PCB achievement to this day.
3/4/2017 - IN Extra No-Miss, 3 bombs, Imperishable Shooting captured, done with Border Team, also known as my final submission for DRC 7. This is memorable in many ways: it was my first and so far my most successful and favourite DRC. The first time I really got to know a stage in depth and improve it until I was really satisfied with it. It was also this DRC which turned IN Extra into my favourite Extra Stage (nothing else even comes close) and got me interested in scoring it in the first place.
4/1/2017 - EoSD Lunatic 1CC with ReimuB. My first Lunatic 1CC which I started going for in late december and actively grinded during the entire month before it. It was also done without vpatch, without SpoilerAL and without watching replays, because the old Shnippy was just hardcore like that apparently. I got it with much less failure than my Hard 1CC, even though I double-gameover'd to Scarlet Gensokyo once.
5/18/2017 - PCB Lunatic 1CC with MarisaA (for the extra challenge). It still was wayyyy easier than EoSD for me. I'm listing it because it still remains the only game I've ever 1CC'd on Lunatic besides EoSD.
6/7/2017 - IN Extra 2 billion (Border Team). A rather low scoregoal which I reached pretty quickly but it was my first scorerun and as such I'm holding it in high esteem. Also happened to be No-Miss Full Spell, which is almost optimal for scoring. I've never been able to replicate that in any later scorerun.
8/5/2017 - EoSD Stage 6 NMNB on Hard difficulty (with MarisaA). This took way to long because EoSD just loves to be a bitch to me whenever it can.
8/21/2017 - IN Extra 2.3 billion (Border Team). My second scoregoal and my best run so far. Pretty weird run (Full spell, but 1-Miss and lots of bizarre flaws) that I really like nevertheless. Also the last thing I ever submitted on TRS >_<
10/19/2017 - EoSD LNB (yes, 8-Miss) with ReimuB. Probably took around 100 credits and tons of practice. I only got 5 gameovers to Scarlet Gensokyo, so it could have been worse, really. Also, I ragequit for a while after failing three credits in a row to SG, then got it a week later on the first credit

11/2/2017 - PCB ExNNN (SakuyaB). First ExNNN and as such a remarkable milestone, I suppose? I don't think that "perfects" are really my kind of thing, though.
12/30/2017 - LNN Remilia (ReimuB). My first LNN final boss and one of the hardest at it! I was sorta going for that during parallel to LNB already, but got the LNB first. I grew more and more obsessed with what had been a sidegoal at first - to the point where I was almost only playing Remilia anymore. This is one of my favourite fights, but it got quite tough. Something is up with EoSD in general and especially Remilia in particular wanting to be as cruel to me as possible. I got well over 10 1MNBs and got to the point where I didn't feel like there was any more progress left for me to make. Really happy that I've finally concluded this, because honestly, it has dragged on for too long. I didn't beat Trick when it comes to 1MNBs, though

Overall a really nice year to look back at, indeed~

16 January 2017: SA NNB (ReimuA) - Since SA, I started doing NB runs as my first clear in normal mode

2 March 2017: SA NNN (ReimuA) - This is an achievement really special to me, was my first time joining the DRC, and SA was my 5th (iirc) choice, so I wasn't really expecting to get it, also the game was really hard for a normal mode for me at the time, but in the two weeks of time for the DRC I managed to get the "perfect survival", something that I only dreamt of before, was really an amazing experience, it's my favourite achievement. Sometimes I rewatch the Okuu fight and I still remember what I felt in those moments.

17 May 2017: IN ExNB (Solo Remilia) - Some love for my waifu
3 June 2017: EoSD 6M 6B (ReimuB) for DRC 8 - Ok so the DRC was really frustrating, I underestimated what meant going for an LNB, my mentality really worsened, I wasn't ready, I suffered a lot for the next two months, struggling to get the LNB...I'm totally fine now, I grew up a lot in this time but was really hard, I'm happy the worse is over now.

I hope you all don't mind some of my comments, I wanted to explain how I lived this year, where I started playing Touhou more seriously, maybe too much seriously, but it's all fine now and I'm happy, I grew up a lot as a person.

5/9/17?: downloaded eosd and started playing touhou for the first time - This date was determined from my earliest known eosd files and memories, and I remember there was a specific /jp/ post triggering me to go play touhou, but I can't remember exactly sadly. This thread helped pushed me to play.
5/13/17: eosd normal 1cc w/ reimua - Sadly, I also don't remember my first multi-credit clear of eosd (with reimua), but that was my first special moment with the adrenaline and dopamine high of touhou.
5/22/17: eosd normal nb w/ reimua - Bombs with reimuA were nice, but for me, trivialize and finish any pattern by pressing X 1 time. Also clutched Scarlet Netherworld.
8/16/17: eosd hard nb w/ reimua - I did hard in 2 attempts, 1 test using a youtube video to see the new changes, and 1 real, and I wasn't satisfied when I got a regular hard clear. So I creditfeeded for a hnb for 1 month, ragequit for 1 month, and got it on some of my first attempts coming back. I was listening to a flash file of Rail Whores the entire time while in this run and previous runs in this day. I vividly remember the rage and circumstances as I find my post again. hnn remi was fairly easy at the time. The LNB journey begins.
10/29/17: got spoileral and trick's ssg - This was created by a guy who could probably solve Fermat's Last Theorem. Unarguably sped up my progress. I had to quit using my retexture patch and hitbox patch and start anew, like a toddler learning how to ride a bike. Got my skill back as soon as I capped lava cromlech.
11/5/17: eosd lunatic nn sakuya w/ reimua (replay saved!) - I got this on 11/4/17, but didn't check spoilerAL to save the replay.
11/23/17: pcb ran and yukari nnn w/ sakuyaa- Casual break from eosd, did ran 2 days before, yukari 1 day before, and got 2 nns on this day, yukari then ran. NNN Yukari was the first time I felt like the "god" players.
11/26/17: eosd remi lnn w/ reimua, skipping 1m remi - Very very recently at the time, I had discovered that locking current and/or max rank in trick's ssg desynced the replay, so I lost a nn sakuya and probably a 2m remi. After nning remi, I was so scared that it might not have been saved properly, so I covered my eyes and only looked at the lives to the right when replaying it for the first time, incredibly scared and in shock that it might not have been saved correctly. I was also confident in caps, but not nning. I experienced the entire spectrum of emotion while in this fight. At the time, I thought only "superplayers" achieved these sort of things. Last day of Thanksgiving break too, and I was happy for an entire week even in irl. I couldn't sleep hours later because I was still so happy from this. This is my magnum opus rn.
12/9/17: eosd exnb w/ reimub - Already did this with reimua, but this was the better and funnier one imo. Died 4 times to memo. Clutched QED with 0 lives.
12/12/17: 3 book caps in less than 10 min, non taking more than 5 min each - Neat little occurrence, helped with confidence a lot at the time.
12/23/17: First 1/1 book cap - I thought this would be the end of the books, but I was wrong after the temporary high. I got 2 2 books in a row shortly in 2018 on the same day.

In 2018, I hope to get a lnb with reimua (no jinxes, no curses), and a lofty 500m w/ reimua, with secondary goals of nbing mokou with solo remi and nbing mof extra with reimuc. Nice year to look at, but I know I can do better this year if school and irl doesn't invade too much.

Pointdevice mode Normal clear as Reimu. No bombs except for PDH, that spell is the excitements of a male cow.

16/04/2017: MoF, Extra, Reimu A, 5th spellcard. It's the further I could get in Extra. Also best score here: 178.1M points.
30/05/2017: EoSD, Normal, Reimu A, 1cc. Dodging Rain Competition, second 1cc. So close, no resources at the end.
16/08/2017: PCB, Normal, Reimu A, 6th level. 3 extra lives at the beginning of 6th level but I'm stupid and lose 2 of them for free. The best I could do on PCB in 2017, even though played few times.
04/09/2017: HSiFS, Normal, Reimu Spring, 6th level. Satisfied for the game, considering the real mess starts at level 4.
19/09/2017: MoF, Easy, Reimu A, 1cc. Missed No Bomb, too bad. Next time it will be better.
16/12/2017: SA, Normal, Marisa C, 5th level. This is the best I could do with SA until now without continues.
16/12/2017: SA, Normal, Marisa C, 6th level, 5 continues. 30 continues is a lot, 8 continues is better, 5 continues is my best.
