I'm just going to repeat some of the criticism and suggestions I've mentioned in yesterday's stream right here, just to have it organized in a proper place so it's up for discussion.
I've lately noticed that the streams have gotten kinda stale. This is probably most likely because you're now streaming over double the replays of what used to be standard. The simplest solution to that would be to reduce the allowance of submissions per player per month, though I could see that is probably not the most logical solution. The reason I say streams have gotten stale is because there's a very significant decrease in commentators, heck even last stream there were even none for the beginning of it. I get that people are getting tired of commentating over so many runs, but that's what happens when you stream so many more replays per week.
I've already suggested this in yesterday's stream but I'll just go a bit more in detail about it. It would be a very good idea to let more people join to do regular or guest commentating. The current regular commentators don't seem to really be up for it anymore, for one reason or another. I'm sure there's at least some people who would want to volunteer for this. I also don't think it really matters if these are people who are super-knowledgable about the games or not (I mean take the PC-98 games, no one gives insightful commentary on that). All that matters is that it makes things more lively.
In addition to commentary I've also noticed highlights have stopped being made, except for one that's literally the entire broadcast, which is not only inconvenient but also pointless. People who would watch these mostly do it because they missed a run, in which case they would just go to Past Broadcasts. And it's just not convenient because you can't search for a run that easily so it becomes trial and error if that keeps up. Since this started since the second last week of TRS streams, this can still be fixed.
I just kind of have the impression that all the things that need to be done for TRS, are being done by one person. If that's so, then it's no wonder things are worsening, no one wants to put all responsibility on that. If tasks were being split up, it would make things alot better for the people behind TRS and the viewers. Let's say, have 2 regular commentators (one for each day), have someone posting schedules in forums and the Twitch page, have 1 or 2 people making the highlights. I don't know if this is alot to ask depending on how many people are willing to contribute, but splitting things up would make it alot less tiresome for those running TRS.

Heya Kirby. Thanks for re-iterating the feedback you've mentioned from yesterday. I'll respond to these appropriately.
Reducing the number of player submissions per month is the likely step I will take, but I'm still unsure as to what extent. There's just way too many submissions and putting a limit that's too harsh would reduce the amount of potential people that are able to submit. I might think about streaming only once a week again, because as of now it's pretty clear running TRS like this is unsustainable in the long term. Most people are unable to dedicate 8+ hours off their weekend for this; even I think I won't be able to. This will most likely be the priority thing I will change starting next month.
Guest commentating is a neat idea too, although I don't know how frequently I should do this. It would defeat the purpose of our current commentators if I took the approach of "open voice channel" where anyone on their runs could be on voice if they really wanted to.
I didn't make highlights yesterday because I didn't find the time to do that. I'll do it once again when I get home. The highlights I made yesterday are just placeholders, in case I do forget to make highlights and the past broadcast disappears past the 2-week timeframe. I'll definitely get to putting those runs individually back again today. Although admittedly it's pretty annoying having to make 50+ highlights lol.
Most of the behind-the-scenes TRS-related work is done by me, and only me. I usually have no problem doing the work, but lately I've been quite busy plus I had a cold this weekend, and having to keep up with the work in addition to everything else is pretty much the cause as to why everything feels so much more rushed now. Commentators are based on their own availability, at this time I don't have a set schedule for these. It's pretty much just "join whenever you're free".
I just need to find a good compromise between myself and the viewers/submitters. I feel like some people who submit feel entitled about their replay actually being shown in the stream, and don't think about what is going on. If I took an exclusion approach, I'm sure many people will be unhappy with that.

It would most likely mean there's only going to be 40 people at max each month, assuming I will follow through with going back to one stream per week. There's definitely more than 40 different people, but I suppose that's better than right now. >_> I'll be using the appropriate function to limit the form by IP, so that you cannot submit more than once, although you may edit. I'll also be checking submissions to see if people are attempting to get around it using a different IP address and/or a different username. |

I think that rather than streaming once a week all the runs, it's better to have 2 smaller streams.I totally understand if someone doesn't want to commentate for 4 hours.

I also vote for 2 smaller streams.
I think 4 hours or so is a good number. Thats about 1 hour/1 hour and half less than the current streams, and theres 2, so it would be a total of about 3 less hours per week. I think it can help in the long run.
From my experience, this would mean about 8 replays per day. So 16 per week. Seems like a nice compromise to me. Its still a good amount of time for TRS while not being excessive, and its a decent amount of replays show per week. How does this sound?
If in addition you implement the whole guest commentators every now and then to help the regular commentators at times, I think it can work.

Streaming 12-13 replays a week shouldn't be a big difference from 10, I think, and I don't think there'd be much more than 50 people submitting, right? It also could be possible to keep going sort of like right now and just to try to find commentators. |

That was something I suggested before the increase of replays per week and streaming on both Saturday and Sunday was implemented. I suggested instead of 10 runs on Saturday, have something like 7-8 runs on both Saturday and Sunday (so 14-16 runs per week). But since there were so many replays, you've increased this by alot. Probably best would be to put a stricter limit on submissions per month and tone down on replays per week, but still stream twice a week. That is assuming checking IPs for submission if you allow more than one submission per month is doable.

Hmm, seems like a max of 7-8 a day is a decent compromise. Although the reason why I still thought about going back to just once a week rather than twice is that I'm positive most of the viewers might prefer it if stuff's put all on one day instead of split (since schedules, etc). Twice could still possibly work out.
In the coming days I'll create a server for TRS voice, and have it be the place where I'll have additional people for commentary if requested.

Player replay limits per month will be reduced to one - this will be reflected starting from next week's submission form. I will also be closing the submission form today as it is nearing the end of the month.
