All right, ladies and gentlemen, friends and comrades, Touhou lovers, lolicons and people that I can't start to measure their coolness < 3It's rather obvious for everyone that in our forum, we have quite a number of passionate writers who enjoy both Touhou and the art of writing. We've had permission and support from the staff to bring the idea of a writing competition to reality. Our goal is to create a nice playground for people to write and have fun. Also Christmas is coming this way, so we hope it's easier for everyone to spend time and participate.
Soooo, the most important question shall be, 'Are you interested?'Please reply in this thread and tell us if you're interested or not. Each of your words will be of great importance to us! Do reply, because we love you <3

Even better if you may include some details to help us form a plan that will stand a chance to create a fun competition. This is not compulsory, though we would appreciate details. Feel free to voice your opinion.
Problems regarding questions listed below are not decided. It's your answer that will assist us in deciding.
- Seeing that we are a Touhou forum, the topic will, at least, have something to do with it. Though, do you want the topic to be strictly Touhou, or not?
- How should the subject be given? Will you want it to be abstract or concrete?
- How long should the minimum/maximum length of an entry be? Please, anything less than a novella <3
- How long will it take, approximately, for you to write such entry?
- Will you want your entry to be simply given criticism, or scored and ranked? If scored, then how?
- Are you okay with it if we bring a snippet of your entry to reddit (with full credit, definitely) to show the world of our greatness and to lure new members in?
- What will you want for a prize, should you become a winner? (Aki: Note that custom badges are now available as a possible prize @ZM)
- Do you have any other idea for the competition to be even cooler? : D
- If you are not going to participate in the competition, mind sharing with us the reason?

I moved this thread first off, to its rightful section. First things first
Second of all, I just think it should be a regular writing competition because having one forced topic kinda dulls it out. Least for me. At least have one round be touhou, though.
That said, I would be delighted to join, being a damned great writer myself.

Humble XD Well, one of the rationale behind a Touhou theme is that this allows promotion of this competition to Touhou sites. If it is not Touhou themed, then we'd struggle to use it as promotion material, though I do not personally see it as a big loss. |

Okay here's another point of view
There's the fact that most people can't express themselves with one base topic(me being one of them). I have nothing against you doing it that way, but I wanted to say that making it a bit more multicolored in themes in stuff(70% touhou, 30% original perse) can be something that people can express themselves more. Just a little opinion, is all. If you think all touhou is best then go for it.

- I think that it should be about Touhou, if the majority votes nope, them I think we should at least have a round with Touhou stories. I mean, it’s pretty silly to ignore it since we’re in a thematic forum.
- I dunno what you guys consider to be abstract, but imo it should be something somewhat specific so that people write about the same theme, it makes it easier for the juri to decide which one is the best.
- Welp, I’m okay with any kind of text so I don’t really care about the length.
- I think some criticism would be a good idea (make sure people don’t mind getting criticized because some might take it the wrong way). I would say it should be scored, but to be honest people would end up asking why they scored this and that so I think criticism would be the best bet.
- In case we do put stuff on Reddit, then it should be Touhou related at all times, otherwise this is pointless. Also, I don’t mind.
- The smile of a child? Just kidding, if I win I want candy and a crown that says “thy bestest”.
- Add sparkles and kittens. Everything is better with kittens. Or sparkly kittens.
- And if it isn't clear by now, I’m obviously in because I get a chance to face Alicia and prove her I’m the strongest. Muahahah!
