DDC was amazing, so I have a hard time believing that Th15 can surpass it. I definitely hope it can pull that off though, that would be amazing!

DDC felt slightly mediocre, though probably in part due to the fact that ZUN wanted to go back to "simple danmaku", with relatively few gimmicks. The only things that stood out were some spellcard designs. I'm sure ZUN could do better.

I actually found DDC easier than the other games. Not sure if its just me, but I would like it if it had hard to dodge spellcards, instead of just gimmicky ones.

I haven't played DDC yet, but from what I've seen on playthroughs and from other people, DDC wasn't particularly good. It wasn't IN. :^)
And I'm really hoping Touhou 15 will be a phantasmagoria. The phantasmagorias were great, so I would expect this next one to be just as good as PoFV or better.

I'm speculating a Phantasmagoria-style game based on the empirical knowledge that Phantasmagoria of Dimensional Dream was released as the third Touhou Project game during the PC-98 era, during the tenth anniversary of Touhou Project in 2005, Phantasmagoria of Flower View was released, six games henceforth of PODD. Currently, the 20th anniversary's arrival will begin, and it is exactly six games following the previous release of POFV - Touhou Project 15.
