It's not because of the fandom, I personally like Undead characters, such as ghosts, vampire and zombies, although Touhou vampires are devils. I'm more of an Edgar Allan Poe style-orientation to characters; horror and suspense, kinda guy.

One of my personal favorites, and the second game I played, which isn't the smartest idea considering the systematic mechanics for resource acquisitions, and how ungodly hard Shou is, but with Sanae B, it's much easier. Beautiful music and backgrounds, and Murasa.

I was interested Murasa's danmaku patterns, the color scheme, the species of herself, and the music. The intensity that Fires of Hokkai created during the conclusion was mind-blowing, and the tension increased significantly afterwards of Shou's dramatic and frantic fight, with a relaxing yet invigorating melody that prepares you. During the ending of Fires of Hokkai, you're instantly thinking "This is it... *Exhale*".

Utterly devastated me, and on my second attempt I actually beat her, too, with no lives or bombs. The victory was so miraculous I literally had tears in my eyes. XD

Initially, Nazrin was one of my personal favorites, based on her abstract design, personality and backstory, also the first stage theme, At the End of Spring, is an amazing first stage theme, and highly underrated.
