I watched some today, something I haven't done for about 4 and a half months. And that was a joke, because I watched Kantai Collection to give me an experience of something I hate.
I've watched quite a lot actually. First five episodes of Monogatari Second Season aka Tsubasa Tiger, just reconfirming why it's my favourite anime. Then something I meant to watch about 4 years ago, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, which was bloody brilliant. And right now I'm finishing Railgun. It's been a good reminder how much fun it all was before Touhou came into my life.

You should read the Toaru majutsu no Index manga Is there a manga for Index? I think you meant Railgun. But yeah, I would recommend reading the Railgun manga. Not sure if I'd recommend the Index LNs though. I'm following them because I like the Raildex setting and characters a lot. But if you're interested in actual plot, it's kinda lame and drags on too slowly. I'd recommend the anime adaptation (which has much better pacing than the LNs) but they're lagging behind pretty far, so...

I actually meant to say LN, herp. I'm fine with the LN, though I guess I'd agree about the pacing. Just gotta be patient.

I actually consider the The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Movie to be my favorite anime movie, lol. I just love how they have a slow build up for he perfect finish. I just finished watching Hunter X Hunter, the new one and I felt that most of the character abilities were copied from other animes. The overall direction of the main story of the anime also pointed nowhere. I did enjoy the anime however, but, the story failed to hook me into it.

I just finished the Pandora Hearts manga. Been following it for years before I paused (at Ch 95), waited for the last chapter and then re-read from scratch and finished the rest. This is an amazing story and I would strongly recommend it to others.
Don't watch the anime adaptation though. It's not bad, but it adapts only a small fraction of the manga (cuts off before it gets good) and adds a silly anime-original arc/ending that violates the canon.

That was the most boring part of the entire series for me. Touma did diddlysquat throughout the whole 3 (correct me if im wrong) novels. But I don't really have a problem with the pacing otherwise. Since I read Mahouka koukou no rettosei I am used to slow fucking pacing.

Only William Orwell was cool. I also found the Touma parts to be really boring during World War III too. It was only the Accelerator stuff, and to a lesser extent, Hamazura parts, that kept me entertained. I never read Mahouka but I watched the anime adaptation so far and it seems to be purely dedicated to glorifying how awesome the Shiba siblings are. Which is boring as hell, even if some of the action sequences are kinda cool. I have no intention of reading the Mahouka LNs or even watching a second season if it gets created.

They can be super boring LN's. Too much school time/slice of life and the writer doesn't know how to write like that. It becomes really boring filler. But I have to say Tatsuya is possibly the most OP character ever.

SSsssssshs, no spoiler. I've only read up to Volume 19 (The Escape Arc). The Britain Arc only lasted 2 volumes, btw. And I actually was okay with it honestly. The ending was glorious. Especially when the Queen of England used 'Union Jack' I think it was called. So very patriotic in a British sense, I felt it.

Current following manga, only a quarter of these get updated on a regular basis. Going to watch Death Parade after some serious coaxing from deskmate. Am also going to take up Mawaru Penguindrum, Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo. Looking forward to Vanitas no Carte (Jun Mochizuki's new series) with its steampunk vampirism, hope it gets out of the shadow of Pandora Hearts. Wait for more from Fruit Basket: Another, not too eager to only see everyone's kids. Thoughts of a few I've recently read: Akagami no Shirayukihime: A little of a disappointment. For a typical setting, the main character (red-haired determined resolute kind-hearted girl) is rather weaker than she should be. Her determination and strength is shown via words more than via actions, and she constantly gets rescue from other characters.
Would not recommend. It's rather solid, but better way to spend time for similar setting are Reimei no Arcana, or Akatsuki no Yona.
Gojikanme no Sensou: I'm practically squeaking for the lack of new updates. It's cute, touching and a little heart-wrenching at the same time. Children going to an annihilation war and that kid lost a leg already ;u;
Would recommend. Especially to go along Afterschool Military Activity.
Hoshi wa Utau: I came to read this because of Natsuki Takaya hype (author of Fruits Basket, my 2nd most favorite manga ever), and I find it okay-ish. I don't fancy most of the character cast, but they're not bad either. The growth of the main character is endearing, though the twist near the end is highly frustrating. While the ending remedied that, it's not the most satisfying ending ever either.
Another okay piece, but for similar genres (slice of life, romance, drama), there are far superior choices such as Fruits Basket, Koe no Katachi, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, 3-gatsu no Lion.
Kasane: A very cynical view on life that promises an ending with despair, with a very hideous looking girl, Kasane, while highly talented at acting, couldn't get her head up. Not your traditional Cinderella story, for Kasane is also nowhere near a gentle, nice woman- like almost everyone else in this manga, is filled with dark ambitions and desires. The story tells what happened when she acquired a lipstick that could switch her face with others.
Recommended recommended. Solid and refreshingly unique.
Horimiya: Another slice of life, but has a cool feel rather than a cutesy feel. The characters are nicely-crafted and likable, and are certainly a fresh change after many other (not bad) slice-of-life manga I have read before this. The romance between the main pair is loving, natural, intimate and without the cliche "oh c'mon just tell her already" or any self-doubting drama.
Recommended. Definitely a nice take on the overused romantic school life.
Last Game: In stark contrast to the above, Last Game is a story solely about a pair of friends coming to realize their love for each other. The boy desperately chases after the girl, who overshines him in everything he does since they met. Over 50 chapters (so far) for a proud boy to make a dense girl realize her love for him is kinda too much, but it's still a sweet, enjoyable story. Mostly because Kujou, the girl, is absolutely adorable and her growth.
Would not not recommend. An okay piece. (I liked it better while I was reading it)
ReLIFE: A NEET getting invited into a program where he turns 10 years younger and gets to live a year as a highschool student. That's about it. Has pacing problems, and the character cast ranges from okay to irritating. Mostly common stuffie you see in slice of life, hue hue. I hope they would get into the secrets of the past already.
Would recommend if you have no life to waste. I personally don't find it a bad read, and I read it because I'm curious how it goes and a certain lovely character (Ryo), but there're better choices.
3-Gatsu no Lion: Another story about a talented but troubled young person, this time a shogi player named Rei. It takes a different path than Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. Unlike Kousei, Rei doesn't have a special Kaori, but he has a family of 3 sisters to whom he has absolutely no blood connection to, and more friends in the shogi pro folks. The story doesn't dig in the romance department, but rather concentrates in family and friendship. It is dramatic and gentle at the same time, which is its own charm.
Recommended. It's cool, though I have no idea how long it will be. Kyoko is one of the coolest sisters ever.

Wow, you're watching anime? I'm pretty sure that's another sign of the apocalypse. :v Yeah, watch Death Parade, it's great. Not sure if you'll like it since it's not buggy, but if you like psychological, introspective stuff about human nature, you'll like it. That aside, I haven't been watch much of any anime. I bring shame to my family :c
