something I find weird, how come almost everyone seems to draw Hina with dark green hair? In all her official appearances its a blueish green but almost every fanart pic of her has her with solid green hair. It could be worse. she could be koishi. Greyish Green != Bright Green people |

It could be worse. In PCB, Yukari's clearly a loli, but fanart always draws her with humongous knockers. What the fuck is up with that? Truly disgusting. The same applies for many character, to be honest.

Something else I just thought about now: Eiki and Komachi's portrait are about the same height. Komachi wears a high geta. Eiki wears flats. If Komachi removed her geta, she would shorter than Eiki.

ISC uses a lot of old assets, yes for the characters. Hell the characters arrive in the same manner as they did in their older games (Seiga comes in and does a twirl, Sanae comes in from the side, etc.)

Son, those aren't canon. This is all essentially fanart with ZUN's stories. That shit doesn't count. The only canon art is ZUN's, everything else is fanart. All of it.

Did you know that ZUN is the one that gives these manga artists guidelines and make sure they're drawn to his standards?
For instance, alphes likes to draw his women voluptuous and curvy, but as you can see none of his character portraits are really like that in IaMP/SWR/Soku.
Fanart with ZUN stories? Once again, ZUN is the one who approved of this art, and was okay with their art being used with his story, essentially making this art canon.
And lastly, the point I was making is 'how the character looks is mostly up to your interpretation'. Did you also know ZUN wants you to make your own 'Gensokyo'? Did you know that ZUN is vague on purpose so that the lines inbetween can be filled to what you desire? Did you even read my last comment? Can you sound even more rude?

You know what this means? That means that the artistic works collaborated with ZUN are guess what? Canon. Here is some more logic for you, a manga artist may draw art for the story maker. Since the art is merely an interpretation of the story, that means the art is canon because the story maker approved of the art. If the story maker decided to switch artists, does that mean that the art is any less canon? No, unless he decides to retcon that storyline. If the story maker himself decided to draw his own works, and then later decided to have someone else draw his own stories, are you saying that the art isn't canon because it wasn't drawn by the story maker? Wouldn't you also be basically denying the canonocity of the story too? You're saying it's just fanworks but with ZUN story, but ZUN himself went to these people and had them officially published under his name. Any fan can take the story of ZUN and draw pictures on top of it. The difference is ZUN got these guys, and gave them the okay. He spoke directly to them, he oversaw their art and gave them guidelines and made sure these artists drew things to his 'image'. These are OFFICIAL print works. Oh, but ZUN is a drunkard so it doesn't matter right? Still don't believe me? There's also references on the 3rd link. No one's mad, I just have a problem with the way you're coming off. It was rude, and you know good and well that was. Where's your proof that only ZUN's art is canon then? Did ZUN himself say that? That's your own interpretation, which all fits in with ZUN's 'having your own Gensokyo'. Which contradicts what you said, pretty much.
