Hello everyone. Would any of you be interested in a forum-based game of Fibbage? It's not (normally) a long game, but since I can't exactly host the actual electronic game, I'm working out some changes in my head.
If you want a full explanation on what Fibbage is, please scroll to the bottom of the page.
Now, some extra rules and things to put down for this project.
I will wait to announce the deadline for sign ups until I have at least eight players. Once that's done, I'll announce the eight players who've entered and I'll allow an additional 24 hours for anyone else who wants to join in. The maximum number of players I think I'll accept is twelve, maybe sixteen.
Fibs, Answers, and Thumbs Up are sent in via PM. I'll allow either 24 or maybe 48 hours to send in answers. Taking suggestions on that.
I'll have the standard seven question over three rounds. Since this is a Forum game, I'm considering posting all questions of a round at once or posting them one at a time like the original version. 48 Hours and Simultaneous Questions sounds good, or else 24 hours and Sequential Questions.
... No, I don't have any idea what to do if everyone tries to send in the truth as their Fib - all at the same time. Suggestions?
I probably need to work on my resources to make sure we don't run out of questions.
What is Fibbage?
Fibbage is a competitive trivia game by Jackbox Games. The game takes place with seven questions over the course of three rounds. Each question is fill in the blank. Before any answers are presented, each player sends to the host a Fib they think will fool other players into picking the wrong answer. Once all Fibs are in or time is up, a list of answers is presented - one truth and as many Fibs as there are players. Each player now sends an answer to the Host - privately just like the Fibs - and they can also give a "Like" to other choices they like but otherwise think are still false.
Once all players have sent in their answers (and likes) the Host will announce one by one who picked what choice - and whether that choice was a Fib or The Truth. For every player your Fib fools, you get 500 points. For picking the Truth from among the choices, you gain 1000 points. If the Host had to put up Fibs and you picked one of those, you lose 500 points. Once all the player's choices have been announced, the next question is presented. After three questions a new Round starts. Points are doubled in Round 2 and tripled in Round 3, the Final Fibbage.
At the end of the game, whoever has the most Points wins the game and whoever has the most Likes wins the Thumbs Up Cup. Players with the same amount of points or thumbs up all win.
I take no credit for this game idea and I'm open to suggestions, comments, etc.
