*still has to read the last three posts of awesomeness* Thanks to Dankiri for helping me with these, as usual. ^^

Descending down in front of the entrance to the Moriya shrine, Sanae ran inside, shut the door behind her, and made her way to Kaguya and Suwako's room. Seeing the two laying side by side on a bed, she made her way over to Kanako's side and started shaking her. "Kanako-sama...wake up..." she whispered rather loudly.
"Uh... wha... Suwako... I don't care if you're hungry... let me sleep!" The goddess complained in an annoyed tone, her speech dragging a bit due to drowsiness.
Sanae sweatdropped, shaking Kanako harder. "Wake up, darn it! This is important!"
The sudden movement made Kanako shake a bit of her sleepiness away, but not her annoyance. "Sanae...?" She sit down and looked at her with annoyed half-lidded eyes. "... I've told you this before and I will tell you again, don't use Suwako's actions as a manual of good practices. Disturbing a person's sleep is rude and makes me very... very mad." She added as an afterthought. "Wait, did you just curse?"
Sanae felt a bit intimidated by her goddess, but stood her ground, determined on letting her know about the news. "N-No, I did not curse," she started, holding up the green intricate symbol. "I went down to the village earlier to do some investigation. Unfortunately, I saw the aftermath of another villager being attacked, but I was able to retrieve this."
Kanako held up her hand. "Wait a moment... What on Gensokyo were you doing in the village at this time..." She stopped only to realize that it was Sanae she was talking about. Her hand rubbed her temple. "Never mind."
She looked at the object on Sanae's hand and picked it up. It was a wooden plaque with what seemed to be a magical sigil on it. It was glowing green but it seemed to be losing it's intensity.
The goddess analyzed it, her sleepy face being replaced by a serious one. "... Did that villager live alone?"
Sanae nodded. "I...didn't check," she replied, brushing her bangs from her face.
Kanako stood up from her bed. "This sigil was engraved with enough magic to either affect a lot of people or kill a single person. If the man was by himself and this was left alone with him, he would have surely perished." She was thinking out loud more than talking to Sanae.
Stopping on her tracks, her eyes stared at Sanae. While the goddess' voice was calm, her face showed anger. "This incident is escalating. It started with temporary engravings on the victims' necks and now plaques are being used. They are more powerful and don't require physical contact to affect someone. And if this man was indeed alone, the intent behind this was murder."
Sanae was at a loss for words. She put a finger on her chin and closed her eyes, beginning to think. If the situation was indeed getting worse, it would only be a matter of time before everyone in the human village was attacked by this threat. And who knows, what if the attack range expands and other residents of Gensokyo were affected?
Opening her eyes, she looked seriously at her goddess. "I need to see if there were other residents of his home," she said, looking a bit guilty for leaving the scene so quickly.
Kanako nodded and looked down at the symbol, the green glow gone. With a movement of her wrist, the wooden plaque all but disintegrated itself on the palm of her hand. It seemed the person behind this knew that, would the symbol stay active, it would make them easier to find.
"Clever..." Too clever for Kanako's taste. She would not forgive someone who dared to attack her people.
"I'll accompany you." She made her way to her closet, grabbing her usual clothes. "This kind of act cannot be tolerated. This person must be punished."
Sanae turned around, giving her goddess her privacy as she changed. "Of course, Kanako-sama," she replied. "But what about Suwako-sama? Should we just let her sleep?" Kanako slipped on her clothes and pondered for a moment.
"Yes, let her be. She's worse than I am when she doesn't get enough sleep. It would only end up with her complaining about it the whole day and I already have an headache as it is."
Sanae shuddered at the thought of an irate Suwako. "Good point," she agreed. "I'm honestly kind of worried, Kanako-sama...this seems to be a really, really potential threat..."
Turning to Sanae, Kanako answered grimly. "I don't think we can see it as just a 'potential' threat."
"How bad do you think it can be...?" the shrine maiden answered curiously, worry in her voice.
"Bad enough to attempt murder on a human, it seems." She answered. "We have to investigate the man's house. If my worries are proven true, there will be no mercy for the one behind this."
"We have to hurry then," Sanae responded, making her way to the door. She then stopped. "Are we still going to ask around about this situation later on?"
The goddess rubbed her temple once again. "I suppose we will have to as I doubt the culprit has left us with clues... The magicians may be a good help. Unfortunately, Gensokyo's magic still elude me so we don't have much of a choice..." she admitted begrudgingly.
"Who first? Those at Myouren?" Sanae wondered.
Kanako winced at the suggestion. "Uuh... first, let us make sure the victim is alright and search for clues there, then... we'll decide on what to do..."
"Alright, let's go!" Sanae declared, brandishing her gohei.

Satori sat behind her desk signing another document for what she thought was the 100th time that day. Through the corner of her eyes she could still see the a neat pile of papers that still needed to be taken care of. She sighed, resigned to her fate. Her hand continued to work mechanically, but her mind was somewhere else.
'I wonder where Koishi is...'
Suddenly, the door to Satori's study opened, and a bored-looking Utsuho Reiuji walked in. "Satori-sama," she whined, making her way to the desk and putting her hands on it, looking at her master with a sad expression. "There has been literally nothing eventful going on lately...handling the furnace gets boring sometimes..."
She observed Utsuho's eyes and smiled sadly. "I'm sorry I have been too busy to play with you." She apologized as she petted her pet's head. "Where is Orin? 'Ah, she's busy too', you say? Hmm..."
Pensively, she rested her chin on the desk. Satori didn't want Utsuho to get too bored, usually that ended up badly. Last time, the raven had decided that zipping through the mansion was a good idea and the playground session ended up with her porcelain vase collection in smithereens. "I know, why don't you go for a walk on the surface?"
"Ooh, it's been a while since I've been up there!" Utsuho replied, some excitement beginning to appear in her tone. "Though isn't it nighttime above at this time?"
Satori thought for a second. She had been working for so many hours straight she had lost track of time. "Now that you mention it... I'm not quite sure..."
"Wouldn't hurt checking it out!" Utsuho declared. "I can't wait to see what's going on!"
"Be careful and behave! Don't eat anything strange... again." Satori said as she remembered her pet going nuclear.
Utsuho waved it off. "I learned my lesson after that!" she laughed. "But I wonder how those two goddesses are doing these days."
The hell raven put a finger to her chin and thought. "I faintly remember when that one Hakurei shrine maiden and the witch stormed off for their shrine when I told them about how I got these powers."
"'I think there was a Tengu who wrote a newspaper about me, I'm probably famous by now, ahaha! I'm kinda embarrassed', huh?" Satori sighed in defeat.
Utsuho was so innocent sometimes.
"You can visit them, just don't eat anything they give you!" She felt the need to reiterate. It was still very present in her mind how those two insane humans raided her home. In the midst of the battle, the miko had blasted some holes through her walls, never paying for the damages and two of her rare books were missing, something she assumed was that sticky fingers of a witch's doing. And she had made sure she kept an eye on her, how did she even do that?
"Alright, I think I'll stop by their shrine on my walk! And then probably find one of those newspapers and show you my fame, Satori-sama~!" Utsuho sang, running out of the pink-haired satori's chambers and waving. "I'll be back soon~!"
"Don't run inside the---!" Satori sighed for the 20th time that day. "Nevermind." She focused her eyes on the document in front of her and resumed her work.
A crash of a familiar glass vase then suddenly echoed throughout her chambers. "Sorry~!" came Utsuho's yell.
"..." She ran a tired hand on her face. Maybe she was in need of vacations too.

This is a collab between me and Aki, this counts as Aki's turn so the new round hasn't started yet. (That's Sunday.)
A maid watched a fight unfold at a distance, she wonders about the priorities of the people fighting. ‘Do they not know how much of a mess Gensokyo is in right now?’ Sakuya sighs a little to herself. However, she was tired of stopping people fighting; the little sister back at home was going on a rampage again, “Squishy didn’t turn up at playtime” she said. Icicle shower after icicle shower, funny, the moon rabbit is just casually glaring at the fairy. Oh dear, an illusion, the inaba is serious. Well, it is none of her business. She readjusts the holster under her skirt and flies peacefully towards the skirmish. She raises a silver eyebrow at the battered figures getting ready to charge off into the forest again… How reckless.
“Quite the battered group we have here” said Sakuya a little mocking smile on her face “I suppose you wouldn’t mind if I tagged along”
Marisa turned at the sound of Sakuya's voice. Well, at least she didn't have any ill intentions, but that smile annoyed her a bit. "Oh, it's the chief-maid." She raised a brow of her own. "What are you doing here? You suddenly realized that being a maid is boring and you should hang with cool people for a change?"
“I will serve ojou-sama for as long as I live” said Sakuya cooly, glaring sharply at miss black-white, “Ojou-sama is concerned about this incident; a few of the fairy maids have collapsed. I must ask what the Miko is doing at a time like this, incident resolution is the Miko's responsibility.”
Tired eyes met Sakuya's. "Look at me. Do you honestly think I had the time to babysit Reimu?"
Now that Sakuya mentioned it, that too had started to irk her. 'What the hell, Reimu?!' Her brow twitched as she spoke through clenched teeth. "She's probably drinking tea under her kotatsu... that good for nothing... Don't worry, I'm working on the incident, who cares about her anyway!"
A wry smile appeared on Sakuya's face, what Marisa was experiencing right now, Sakuya knows all too well. "Well, I suppose we are going to join up with the Hakutaku and Phoenix?" With a facepalm, Marisa muttered. "Damn, we're wasting time here!" She mentally slapped herself for getting distracted. "Let's go!" She jumped to her broom. "I'll go on ahead. Comet [Blazing Star]!" And she zipped forward into the forest.
Careless, that’s what she had been. If only she had paid more attention, she wouldn’t be in this situation. Keine was on the ground heaving for air, a pool of blood forming under her as she held her sides, trying unsuccessfully to stop more from gushing out. In front of her stood an enormous creature: it had the semblance of a lion, grey fur and a darkish emerald mane; two horns protruded from its gigantic head and eight eyes starred down at the Keine menacingly. Indeed, in front of her stood a hakutaku in all its glory, blood dripping from its claws.
Keine raised her trembling hand from the deep cuts on her abdomen and materialized yet another sword, she tried to raise it but she no longer had the strength.
“Y̺̱͍̬̪͇͢o̞̝̝̲̮͢ụ̘̟̝͢ͅ ͅh̢̬̣̼a̙v͏e͏͓͖ ҉̲͔̖n͉̮̮̭̥̘o ̦f̟̩̯͈͈̻a̛̰̤͖̻̫̮̭m̦̘̦͙̬̫ͅị͈̹̬̱̞̺ĺ̗̲̰͔y̥͠ ̞̖d̩̰͓͍͇̲̖̀o̘͚̹͇̲ y̺͔͙̬̠̕o̬̺̞̠̼̹ú̟͇̟?̨ͅ” The hakutaku spoke as it approached Keine. “Y̵̲o̦̥̜u̙͎̱̱ ͇d̻̗͇̰o͝n̶̪̜͍'͕͝t̫̯͈̬͈̳̻ ͙h̪͚̟͇̙̦̝a͖̜̱v̹͍͠ͅe͎̝̯̠̩͡ ̳̮̣͙̱̫o̢͙̬̣n̤̰̻̜̜̭e͉̱ ͕̺̬̥̩̮s̻o̵̖̲͇̯ ͉I̪ ͉̬c̭a̗n͍̖̯̘ ̩̦̮̥̗͈ķi͚l̘ͅļ͖̣͉̺͉ ̧͖͎̖ͅy͈̪͍̯̙o̷͚̱̥̦̯̺u.̞͇̦͡.̹̪̖̫̲.̴͙̱͔͉͔ ̭n̩̻̰o̭̠̠̻̰͡ ̮͕̬͔͉͕o͔͕n̙̪̝̣͈͓̞é͔̝̹ ̷̝̞w̥͎i̴̟̱̘̻͕̥ͅl̲͈l̠͓͕̭ ̪͍̭͓͓͚ͅm͏i̯͎͖͈̺̳͠s̥s̺̫͙͟ ̗̜̭͓͙̭͎̀y̜̺̺̱̠o̶̲͚̦̦ͅụ̳̣,̘̗̤̻͔̖͇ ̘̺͚̤̠͠n͝o͕͓ ̜̙̰̳o̰͓̝ne̳͓͜ ̧͈̟̙̫w̷͇̞͖͔̘i̪͎̩͚̥͘ļ̦̖̯̠̭l̼̩̹̩͇͠ͅ ͢ș̴̼u̖̠͙̠͇͙f̞̼̰̹͙͕f͚eŗ͖͔.̫”
It raised its claw and Keine closed her eyes. She was going to get killed by her worst nightmare. ’I’m sorry… Mokou…’
"Last Word:「Phoenix Rebirth」!!!!" A cry pierced the silence. “No one hurts Keine!” Mokou’s fury is evident. Phoenixes rockets through the air, their flames white hot- as hot as the flames of old hell.
The creature screeched as it got hit squarely in its eyes, tumbling rather pitifully with a loud thud that shook the ground. Despite the snow and the ice, the trees surrounding them had now in flames and they threatened to spread to the rest of the forest. “Mo…kou…” Keine managed to smile, her consciousness finally slipping away.
Mokou’s eyes widened as she saw Keine fall with blood oozing out of her wounds. “K-Keine?” said Mokou, doubting the scene before her eyes. There is no way that Keine would get hurt like this. No way…There was no response. “I’ll heal you, Keine. I haven’t done this for a long time, but it’s you, I have to do it!” Mokou rolls up her sleeves and procures an amulet.
The creature stood up slowly, cracks had started to form on its face as if the beast was made of glass, its body was shaking but its eyes fell on Mokou. Something seemed to be keeping the beast from attacking for a moment, it shifted nervously like a cornered animal. “N̬̖o҉̠̜̼̩͈ͅ.̼͈͕͍ͅ.̴̮̘̲̩.͏̺͇̲͓̹͉ ̶̟̳͙̥I͏̜ ̜̞̗̖c̯a̶̗̳̮̺ṇ͚̖͎̖̜͡'̶̣̞̣̪̥ͅt̘̠̀ ͚͍l̩̰e̶͍̖͎̥͉t̡̝̼ ͕̜̮͇̩͉͠ỳ̻̼̱̱͓o̝̰̠͉̹ͅṵ̹͍͓̖ ̠̯͚̰̱g͕̣͍̤e͖ṱ̗ ̟̗͙̭̮i̥͞n͕̱ ͔̝͜ḿ̥y͔̘̙̮͇̼ ̪̭̭͖̻̺͟w͔͉̗͎͉ay̩͚̟̩͙̥!̨̲̣̦̥͇”
But before it could attack, another growl came, very human in nature. “EAT BROOM, ASSHOLE!”
A indistinct and yet familiar black blur zipped forward leaving a trail of colorful stars behind as it connected painfully against the creature with all the momentum it had gained, sending the creature back to the ground.
Marisa landed on her feet with a pained expression as she grabbed her neck again, she quickly looked in Mokou’s direction. “Keine! Is she—“ But the words died in her mouth as she looked at Keine’s state. Her eyes widened and her heart froze. All that blood… Keine couldn’t be…
She could feel her body trembling but she collected herself as the rest of the group arrived. “REISEN! Keine needs help! Take care of her!”

Man, Dankiri and I are on the ball.
-
"And here we are, Kanako-sama," Sanae said as she led her goddess into the home of the latest victim. "Should we search the house in case he has family, like you said?"
Kanako checked the victim's pulse and with a nod she layed the man on his futon. "Yes. If there is, hopefully they will be unscathed, even if it is unlikely."
Sanae nodded back and began to investigate around the victim's home. She felt fear and worry well up deep inside her, but she shrugged off those negative feelings. She wouldn't even think of backing down from something as dangerous as this. The lives of innocent humans and the residents of Gensokyo were at stake at this point.
Peering into a dark room, her green eyes narrowed. She could barely see anything. "Hello...?" she called loudly, stepping in to the room.
No response.
Sanae started to consider the possibility that if there were other people, they could possibly be resting. With a flick of her right wrist, she created a mini blue star in her hand so she could see. She then ventured further into the room, calling louder.
"Hello?"
Still no response.
Frowning, the shrine maiden began to peer around at the contents of the room. To her surprise, the room was a disaster, with random particles of clothing strewn about and furniture knocked over. There was broken glass on the floor and even some holes in the walls.
"What happened here...?" Sanae thought to herself. "Perhaps the man got in some sort of struggle before falling unconscious...? I need to investigate more."
Kanako formed a tiny flame on her hand and wandered around the house, eyes scanning every tiny detail. 'No one, huh?'
She entered the living room, everything seemed normal. 'There are no more bedrooms, which means the victim was living alone... This means the culprit really wanted to kill them. To what purpose? The attacks don't seem to have a pattern...'
"Sanae, have you found anything?"
Hearing Kanako's voice, Sanae turned her head. "This is the only other room in the house, Kanako-sama, and it's a complete mess!" she responded. "It seems the victim had a struggle!"
Suddenly, the room where Sanae was standing started to twist and detort, as if Sanae was dizzy. The door behind her her closed with a slam.
Sanae's eyes widened with shock. "W-What's happening all of a sudden?" she gasped. - The sound of the door slamming rang in Kanako's ears, and she looked up in alarm. - "Sanae." A voice came from behind her.
Kanako was standing behind her, arms crossed, a look of anger in her face.
"What do you think you're doing?" Her voice was eerily cold.
"W-What? K-Kanako-sama...I don't know what's happening right now..." Sanae answered honestly, fear starting to become apparent in her eyes.
The goddess slowly made her way towards Sanae.
"Of course you don't... When do you do, now?" She pointed at Sanae. "You're always relying on others, can't you do anything by yourself?"
"I-I just want to do my best for both you and Suwako-sama..." Sanae stuttered, getting down on her knees. "T-That's all..."
"Well." She came to a stop. "Your best is not enough. We made a terrible mistake to choose you. How are you going to make up for the trouble you've caused us?"
Tears began to stream down the miko's face. This sudden hostility from her goddess, one of the two beings in her life that she looked up to and admired most, was starting to be too much for her. She clutched her head, beginning to cry.
"W-Why are you saying these things to me...?!" she screamed. "I-I devoted my life to you...a-and then you're telling me I-I'm nothing but a mistake...? W-Why...K-Kanako-sama...W-WHY...?!"
The door behind her got blown appart.
"Sanae!" Kanako put her hand on the miko's shoulder and looked to see her own likeness in front of her. Her eyes narrowed with anger.
"Are you the culprit?" She paused for a few seconds. "No... You're just an illusion." She raised her hand, wind shooting out of it. Previously concealed, two ofuda amulets with a familiar green symbol on them few from the wall.
The image of her was dispelled in a black smoke and everything turned to normal.
She lowered her hand and turned her attention back to Sanae, kneeling down and putting her hand on Sanae's back to calm her down.
"Sanae, are you alright? Are you hurt?" The goddess asked, worry in her voice.
Sanae's body wracked with sobs as she looked down at the floor, tears splashing onto the ground. "I-I'm no good, am I..." she whispered quietly, her eyes blank. "I'm not good enough for my goddesses...I'm not good enough for anyone..."
"Sanae..." The goddess put her hands on Sanae's shoulder and gently supported her back into a sitting position. "Sanae, look at me, please." Her voice was warm, the complete opposite of her likeness'.
The shrine maiden sniffed and looked up slowly, looking at Kanako's concerned face. She was completely unlike the Kanako she saw not too long ago. Still, she couldn't help but to feel a little fearful. "K-Kanako-sama...?" she asked, her voice filled with worry.
Kanako smiled warmly. "You're not good for us, you're too good for us. We couldn't ask for someone more caring, gentle and bright." She wrapped her arms around her and pulled her into a hug.
"You've grown so much ever since we met you... We are very proud of you." She chuckled, reminiscing. "You're part of our family and will always be, we love you, Sanae. llusion or fake, don't ever let anyone convince you otherwise."
"Mmm..." Sanae hummed quietly, resting her head on Kanako's shoulder. "T-Thank you...t-thank you so much...I-I believe you...I-I just...I need to lay down..."
"You better believe me, or I'll have to bonk some sense into your head." She chuckled.
Her eyes peered from Sanae's shoulder to the ofuda on the ground. She frowned. "Has this always been on your mind? The fear you would disappoint us?"
Sanae said nothing, only nodding slowly in response as she held onto Kanako tightly, not intending on letting go.
"That fear is too unreal to come to past." She petted Sanae's head. "Don't worry."
'Illusions that reflect someone's fears? Then why...' Kanako narrowed her eyes, something clicked on her mind.
She then looked down at Sanae, her gaze softening. Perhaps it would be best to get her home for now before she could look into this matter further.
Kanako knew one thing, though. This occurrence was starting to become much more clear to her.
Picking up the ofuda amulets from the floor, Kanako put them in her skirt pocket. She then scooped up Sanae and held her close in her arms, alerted a nearby villager about the victim and requested for medical attention as she left his home, and took off into the night sky.

With assistance from Dani <3
Night had fallen and with it a chilly wind. The streets had fallen silent and deserted, undoubtedly because of the recent attacks. It seemed like an otherworldly scenery to see the otherwise bustling Human Village this empty. Was this too a bad omen to things yet to come?
It was quiet, so quiet one could hear their own footsteps in the snow and maybe because of the quietude of her surroundings the sound of glass shattering came as a clamorous at it appeared to Alice.
It had happened next to her, she could tell as a green glow seeped through the windows of one of the houses behind her.
Inside it were two unconscious villagers, a wooden plaque with a familiar intricate, green symbol engraved on it, glowing auspiciously. She felt her feet rushing forward as if the weight they contained was featherlight, as if a small piece of iron pulled by a magnet. Such sign of devil which had been so clearly engraved into her mind, again reapppeared, this time right before her eyes.
"Let's get them on the beds", someone's voice was quiet yet firm, echoed amidst the sounds of the villagers, those who had started to gather around. The bodies that struggled to preserve their warmth were gently lifted up, cradled in someone's arms, set down on an old bed that perhaps could crumble any moment. As if life had left them altogether, and whatever was left inside these hollow shelves was desperately clinging to life.
Behind her eyelids, that chaotic scene that flew by so fast was so vivid, as if she was living it in, even now.
"Shanghai".
Wavering blond hair fluttered in front of her, slightly clinging into her arms. She felt her fingers pulled weakly forward- perhaps 'weak' was a bit too extreme for her prized weapons, perhaps- half-hearted, or strangely considerate, as if fearing to disturb a silent, still lake.
"Shanghai!"
Following Shanghai's squeaky voice, her heart felt like it almost jumped at the sound of someone approaching her. Bulky build, brisk steps, eyes that held a sky's sorrow, towering over her.
"Young miss with dolls, are you perhaps a magician?".
A voice that perhaps had contained its fair share of pain and secrets, which such person did not bother to hide. His darkened eyes blurred behind a curtain of mist, seemed to convey an unspoken message.
"With your powers, please help them-- please save them"
They were not the only ones.
She too, could definitely name someone who had gone through that same nightmare.
Her eyes couldn't leave the bodies that were clinging to life on their beds, as her hands gripped on her Grimoire tight.
Deeply engraved in her mind was such image, the symbol of their worst nightmare that had somehow rested on the skin of her dearest dream. That sign of devil should still be resting under the thin scarf whose faded color stood out significantly, as if a green leaf spouting in winter sky. She who carried this symbol with her, perhaps was still advancing, perhaps was still unfazed, cheerily hanging on the broomstick, laughing alongside newly found friends along the way.
Their definitions of friends perhaps had always been one of their most fundamental differences.
"I will see what I can do".
Oh, Shanghai... If I could not do it for her, let me do this for these poor people.
Sorrowful air that mere hours ago was holding all of this world's tranquility, silently dissipated into the cold winter. The scent of chaos had subsided, yet for a reason it was unmistakably roaring as if adding more fire into this battlefield, as if supporting her footsteps was never the calm ground, but a keen intent to survive that had somehow materialized. A breeze so sharp rushed through her, showing no mercy as it shoved her forward, further, further away into the blackened night.
The look from the pair of irises that shone ever so brightly with the color of sunlight, with each words uttered was paler, paler in her mind with each seconds passing.
The horizon in which that certain broomstick gently disappeared behind was shivering in the dark.
"Marisa".

Reisen had been trailing a little behind the main group. She was tired, and wasn’t sure how this was going to play out. Approaching the scene, she saw the pool of blood before she heard the frantic shout from Marisa. “On it!” Reisen yelled back, and sprinted to Keine’s prone body. She was slipping in and out of consciousness, mumbling in fear and pain while awake. “Keine. KEINE!” Reisen placed her hand on either side of Keine’s face, and looked directly in her eyes. Reisens eyes glowed, dimly, in the darkness. “You are awake, you do not feel tired, and you feel happy. Nothing hurts, and everything is fine. You are relaxed.” Keine’s body stiffened momentarily, then seemed to relax. A smile played across her face, and she started chatting nonsensically with someone who wasn’t there. Reisen fought back a migraine, then began to examine the wounds. Three horizontal scrapes, large but clean, were located on her abdomen, one below and two above her bellybutton. Reisen pulled off her suit jacket, and started applying pressure to the wound, but the jacket was soaked within seconds. “This is not good…” Reisen muttered, desperately thinking of a solution. There are a number of ways to close a large wound, but many of them require equipment. Except… “MOKOU!” Reisen yelled, and was surprised to see that she was right behind her. “How well can you control your fire?” Mokou's eyes lit up as she saw the doctor's apprentice. But the light was short-lived. "O-oi, don't tell me you're getting me to sear Keine's wound close?" asked Mokou nervously. Marisa looked at the beast it shattered, crack by crack, like a broken glass only to fall apart and reveal the image she was already familiar with: a dark cloak, skeleton hands and green orbs peering from the darkness inside the hood. It materialized a scythe on its hand, an image that recalled her of those books she had read about the grim reaper, such an eerie picture. "Y͓̭̩̙̲ou͙̣̤.̝̝̣̼̙.̝͚̫ͅ.̙͙̼̫͚̩" The crack of a burning branch seemed to surprise the creature and it subconsciously took two steps back. Marisa's eyes lit up as the creature looked around the burning forest, seemingly assimilating for the second time that it was indeed on flames. Such a tiny detail... and yet so important. "It's scared of fire..." She mumbled quietly to Sakuya next to her. "When it attacked me... it didn't run away because I kicked it, it was because a candle set a book on fire... We can use that to our advantage." She smirked and grabbed her mini-hakkero and blasted the nearby trees, making it tumble towards the creature. With a surprised shriek, it jumped away from them, confirming Marisa's suspicions. "C'mon! Are you running away again? Ahahaha!" The green-haired fairy arrived to the battle scene, holding her still unconscious friend. She saw the forest burning to ashes, and felt horrified. Fairies represent nature itself, so watching her own "mother" so to speak burn like this... Still, Dai shook her head, she had more important things to worry about at the moment. On one hand, there was the rabbit. She seemed like she was trying to help someone, who was "sleeping" on top of a pool of blood. A white-haired woman was beside her... On the other hand, the black-white magician was picking a fight with the supposed culprit. Dai felt scared just by looking at the creature. She saw how the creature tried to run from the burning trees the magician had strike down. It seemed like Marisa could hold up against it... "Hot... Too hot..." The ice fairy cried, she seemed like she was waking up. The great fairy patted her head slowly. "Ssh... It'll be fine... We'll put this fire out..." But first... She put Cirno over her back, taking care of not hurting her more than she was. Then she flew straight for the rabbit, and screamed: "Is there anything I can do to help?!" Reisen put a finger on the green-haired fairy’s mouth. “Shhh, don’t disturb her illusion.” She nodded her head toward the apparently cheery Keine, who was turning paler by the second. “In any case, there is much you can do to help. Assuming you don’t mind getting yourself dirty.”

Reisen handed Daiyousei her blood-soaked coat. “For now, hold this against Keine’s wound, as hard as you can. That will stop her life-juice from coming out. Okay?” Reisen patted Dai on the head, then turned to Keine. “And, yes, I have intentions to cauterize the wound. Burn-scars are preferable to death, after all.” Reisen eyed Mokous hands. “How well can you concentrate your flame to your hands, or more suitably your finger? The tip would be best.”
Mokou bit her lip, she didn't want to burn Keine...But Reisen was right, burn scars are preferable to death in Keine's case. Mokou lit a small flame at the tip of her finger, she would usually use this kind of fire to light the stove at Keine's place. Hand shaking a little, she offered her hand to Reisen. "Eirin should have some medicine to reduce burn scars, right...?" she asked, mostly, to calm her guilty heart.
Dai looked at the blood-soaked coat the rabbit was giving her. She slowly put Cirno on the floor, then took the coat "O-okay...". She floated down to Keine's body, then pressed the coat against the wound as hard as she could.
"U-ugh... Why is everything so hot...?" The ice fairy cried, as she slowly opened her eyes. She stood up, then looked at the forest burning around her. "O-oh god! This is bad! I'll melt if this reaches me!" Cirno took out a spellcard "However, no stupid flames are going to beat me! I'll beat them first! Freeze Sign [Minus K]!"
The ice fairy declared her spellcard, and a really cold wave formed around her and spread out. The flames and the burning trees around the area turned into beautiful ice crystals. When she saw what she had managed to do, Cirno laughed slightly. "See what I meant! I'm the strongest! No flame can beat me!"
Reisen grabbed hold of Mokou’s wrist, and smiled to her. “I’m sure we have something. Don’t worry about that.” Reisen suddenly frowned, then said “You might not like this next bit, but I can’t maintain Keine’s current illusion any longer. She’ll…. feel everything. But she’ll survive. Try not to listen too much.”
Reisen turned to Dai, and carefully instructed her with what to do next. “When I start… sealing the wounds, I want you to push both sides of the gap together, until they meet. That way, I can seal it tight. It’s gonna be messy, and a little hot.”
“Can you do it?” This question was directed to Mokou just as much as it was to Dai.
Mokou nodded silently, tiny beads of blood appearing on her lip. Her teary eyes had not left Keine's face. Fear. An immortal's mortal fear.
The great fairy quietly listened to the rabbit's instruction. When she had finished, she muttered a single word: "Okay". Then prepared herself for what was about to come.
Marisa’s eyes widened when she saw ice replacing the fire. “Wha--! Cirno, you stupid idiot!”
The creature slammed its scythe against Marisa’s chest, sending her stumble behind against a now frozen tree. "҉̤̜̬̥I̭ ͎̠̪̦͈͕ͅṇ͕̜e͖̗̪͓͍ę̝̣͇d̦͈͖͙͎̘̼ ̶͓̝̗̫͙͓t͈̝͉h̯̞͚̖͝ẹm͎͍̯̥̼ ̫ḅ̵͉̟͔̤̺̗a̩c̻͎͟k̴͍.̺̜..̩̳̗͚͓̲̰ ̨̯͓I̬̱͇͍̭̜͝ͅ ̹̥͉̳̥͈n̢̙͍̣̤̝̹ͅe̯̝͈͔̮̬ͅe͎̥͎͔̞͘d̶ ̱͓̯̞͉̮̖t̲͕̝̻̖̜ò̺̪̤͖̞̹̟ ̨b̫͓͙̱̟͙͡r̠̲̼̹͖̪̬͜i͠ṉg ̵̗̭̼̙t̪̦h̛̞͚͇̗̺e̪̬̗͙̥͍̻m̖͕̰ ͖̳t̼̟̬̱͓̫͢o̲̺͔̺ ̙̗̦͓l͇̟̹̖ͅͅif͚͞e̛̥̳. The witch shielded herself with her broom, the blade of the scythe stopping inches from her face. “Ghhh…” Marisa tried forcing the scythe off of her but her strength was starting to fail her.
Woosh, a flash of silver. Three blades of silver whistled as they hit its target squarely in the chest. Force so strong it blew the figure back and pinned it to a nearby cedar. Sakuya didn't stop there. Pocket watch glinting gold in moonlight, she skips from position to position as if teleporting. A deadly volley of knives unleashed against the creature.
Sakuya stood calmly, a click resounded throughout the silent forest. Time resumed.
There was no time for the creature to avoid the deadly shower of knives, they flew too fast for it to react. There was no blood, no physical wounds, but it was painful. The reaper screamed an unnerving scream as its features started to crack once more. It was still too weak… it had to become stronger, yes… much, much stronger.
It staggered behind awkwardly, fragments of glass falling from it, trying desperately to run away.
The ice fairy watched the fight. As soon as she saw the creature preparing to run away, she grinned. This was her chance. She flew as fast as she could in that direction. "Oh no, you don't!" She screamed, then took out another spellcard. "Eat this! Cold Body [Super Ice Kick]!" She covered her foot in a big layer of ice, flew to the air... And dive-kicked the creature as hard as she could.
A skeleton hand grabbed Cirno’s leg in mid-air, the creature looked at the ice fairy dangling from her hand. "҉̲͙̘̙̻Y̵̗͙̯̹o͈̗̱u͔͟ ̢͉̠̻̖̣w̰̻̦̥̪i̗̝̦l̛l̪̮̠̕ ̨̼̦͓̼d͎͕̫̳͙̗͙o̸͉̘̹.͕̹̺̮̯̹ͅ"͜
Its hand started to glow green, a transparent and bluish smoke like substance started to seep from Cirno. The fairy who had been thrashing around was now ceasing.

And this concludes the most strongest, perfect and elegant collab between me, Shadie, Alzack and Aki.
Marisa’s eyes went wide. As she had expected, it was absorbing Cirno’s life essence. “Magi--- ughhh….” The burn on her neck got worse with each passing second. “Magic Sign [Stardust Reverie]!” She grabbed her broom, hitting the creature squarely on the face sending. It tumbled for the last time on the ground where it broke. It didn’t move any longer. Only the shattered bits remained. “Alright then” the lunar rabbit said, glancing at both helpers. “I’m going to start. Your part doesn’t require watching, Mokou. Feel free to close your eyes.” Reisen maneuvered Mokou’s hand to Keine’s wounds, clutching it tight. This was mostly to keep it steady, but Reisen hoped it was of some comfort to Keine. Slowly, as Dai held the edges of the gash together, she began the cauterization process. The screams started just in time for the fight to end. The green fairy closed her eyes as soon as the screams started. She couldn't bear it. "Why...? Gensokyo is a land of dreams, isn't it...? Why things like this have to happen...?" she asked herself, on the verge of crying once more. On the other hand, the ice fairy, who had just recovered from having her spell card interrupted, quickly turned around upon hearing the screams. She feared that something had happened to Dai. She sighed when she saw her friend was fine, thankfully. She didn't care about what was happened over there exactly, she had other things in mind. "Being able to stop one of my attacks so easily... That thing must have some guts! Heh, I'll show him next time!" she thought to herself. Even when facing defeat two times in a single day, the ice fairy was still as prideful as before. She floated down, and waited for her friend to finish whatever she was doing. It looked painful, that's for sure. Mokou winced as she saw her own crimson flames charring Keine's wound. Her other hand clutching Keine's tightly. Keine's pain is as real to Keine as it is to Mokou. Tears welled up in Mokou's eyes, a dam threatening to over flow at any time. The immortal feared death for the first time in a thousand years. Even the silver maid, stood solemnly to to the side, hands on her apron, in silence. Reisen finished cauterizing the third, and final, wound. Keine had finally passed out, which was fine at this point. Probably for the better. Letting go of Mokou’s shaking hand, she leaned back against a nearby tree. “Okay, green fairy, you can open your eyes now. And you should probably wash your hands…” Reisen said, while momentarily closing her own. Then, opening her eyes quickly, she glanced down at her own hands. They were died a crimson red. “Oh Christ, that’s gonna take a while to come out” Reisen thought, and looked over to Keine’s prone body. Thanks to her Hakutaku state, she seemed to be mostly fine. Her chest moved up and down evenly, and the bleeding had fully stopped. The cauterization had hopefully sanitized the wound, but she would still need to go to Eientei, to be sure. Marisa was livid. She was doing her best not to shake. “Reisen…” Marisa started, her voice hoarse. “Please, go with them. If you’re with them I know that you can give them support if Keine gets worse or if they’re attacked…” She looked at Reisen, her hands clenched, hat casting a shadow over her eyes. “I gave you my word… I’ll go to Eientei but… I… wouldn’t forgive myself if something happened to Keine so… please…” Keine was severely injured and it was her fault. With a movement of her hand, her broom raised horizontally to the air. “Take it, it will move faster than any of you.” She motioned Mokou and Reisen to sit on the broom. “I’ll… follow you after I find Alice.” Reisen glanced at Marisa with tired eyes, then looked at the broom, then looked back to Marisa. Kneading her temples, she said “I…. agree that Keine should get to Eientei as soon as possible. And I know how fast the broom is…”. Reisen sighed. “Fine, I’ll take Keine back to Eientei. BUT!” Reisen pointed a finger at Marisa, and leaned in. “If you don’t come, for WHATEVER reason, I’m telling Tewi where you live.” Reisen turned around to Mokou, who was still Kneeling by Keine, and asked. “Hey, phoenix, are you coming as well? I’m sure she’ll need a friend when she comes to.” "Of course..." said Mokou, her hand not leaving Keine's. Keine's screams still echoed in her ears. Mokou gritted her teeth. An insurmountable wave of guilt hit her all at once. This. Was her fault. If only she paid attention to Keine. If only she didn't decide to slack off next to the fruit cart. This. Would not have happened. Those brown, dead, charred streaks down Keine's chest would not have happened... Mokou bent down and gently lifted Keine in her trembling arms. Keine's head lolled senselessly against Mokou's chest. 'This is the least I could do.' She watched as the others mounted her broom and disappeared in the night sky. She absent mindedly noted there were no stars twinkling in the vast darkness. The witch clenched her hands, nails burying themselves into her palms, her teeth clenched, she could feel herself shaking and knew it wasn’t because of the cold. 'It's my fault...' “I… need to find Alice…” She said quietly, her voice wavering a bit as she started trudging through the snow, her balance unsteady. She walked pass the rest of her party without saying another word, failing to see the shards that were previously their enemy disintegrating into wisps of black smoke.

The collabs end for now, sadly.
Daiyousei simply watched as the witch slowly walked away. She didn't know what exactly happened, but for it to bring down the normally carefree magician...
Daiyousei shook her head. The fight had changed what she had thought at first. Neither the magician nor the shrine maiden attacked Sunny. It was something else, somethimg dangerous, something that "doesn't mind killing people or youkai...". She thought, as she watched her hands stained with Keine's blood.
The great fairy took out a tissue, cleaned her hands and went to talk to her friend. "Cirno..."
"Hm? What is it, Dai?"
"Let's go see Sunny. She might be able to tell us more about that... thing." the green fairy proposed, slightly trembling.
"We don't need her help or her information! I can take care of that thing easily!" the ice fairy boasted.
"It wasn't a question." she said, as she grabbed Cirno's arm and dragged her, in the Myouren Temple's direction.
"H-hey! No need to drag me! When did you get so serious, Dai?!"
---
Meanwhile, on the skies of Gensokyo, a ball of darkness flies through the air, while humming a familiar tune...
---
The two fairies flied through the forest, always staying alert. Getting attacked by that thing would probably be fatal... And avoiding a potentially angry shrine maiden was a good idea.
The fairies stopped at a bifurcation, trying to remember where the temple was, and then...
The tree beside them shook, and the sound of someone crashing into it alarmed the fairies, who took out a spellcard each.
A blonde Youkai fell from the sky, having a big bump on her head, and being covered by an aura of darkness.
"Ow... Who put that tree there...?" the youkai asked as she stood up, rubbing her head.
"Oh, it's just Gloomy." the ice fairy said, while putting her spellcard down.
"'Gloomy...?' What kind of name is that...?" the youkai said, fully standing up. She turned around, always mantaining a cross-like position. "Oh, it's you two! What'cha doin'?"
"Shouldn't we ask you that, Rumia?" the great fairy said. "I mean, you just fell down from the sky and... Well..."
".. Oh yeah, that. I was just taking a little walk, since it's hard to hunt for food with the red-white around. There's been this attack thingy, I think." Rumia, the youkai clad in darkness answered. She didn't seem to care -or know- about the attacks...
"Um... Well, you see regarding that..." Daiyousei began explaining, from the talk with Star and Luna, up to the fight with the mysterious creature. Cirno coughed when Dai started talking about the fight with Reisen, but she let her continue anyway.
"Is that so~?" Rumia said, once Dai finished her explanation, a smile never leaving her face. It was somewhat scary.
"Well, yeah... We were on our way to talk with Sunny, just to see if she could help us in some way..." Daiyousei prepared to take flight again. "So we're in a hurry... Sorry Rumia, we'll see you later!" she said, grabbing Cirno's hand and taking the path to the temple.
"An incident, huh...? Dai seems pretty dedicated to it..." Rumia said to herself, and shrugged. "Bah. These days have been pretty boring... And I might get some food out of all these, even if it is just already-dead humans..."
"Hey, you two! I'm going with you!" Rumia quickly followed the fairies, crashing into several trees before finally managing to fly in a straight line.
The temple was just ahead...

First RP post for the new round, collab with Dani! Recommended reading, since it has lots of PLOT.
The Myouren Temple, home to the buddists that inhabit Gensokyo. Two little fairies and a youkai stood outside its doors. "Soo... This is the place, ain't it? Fancy, I guess." the youkai of darkness said. "That fairy got taken here, right?" Daiyousei nodded. "Yeah... I hope she's fine... We need her help. ... Let's go in." The green-haired fairy opened the door, and entered, followed by her companions.
"Helloooo?! Anyone home?!" the ice fairy screamed. A girl in a sailor outfit approached them with an annoyed expression on her face. “Oi, be quiet! We have people here that need rest!” "Hey, who do you think you are to order me! I SCREAM IF I--" the ice fairy's mouth got covered by Dai's hand. "Uhm... My apologies, miss. You see, we want to talk with a fairy friend of ours, it's very important..." Daiyousei said timidly. “You mean the fairy?” She tapped her shoulder with the anchor. “Sure, you can visit her.” She glared at Cirno. “If your idiot friend stays---“ “Murasa, don’t be rude.” A calm but firm voice came and Byakuren stepped out of the temple. Looking at the fairies, she gave them a smile. “Welcome to the Myouren Temple. I’m glad to see you came to visit your friend.” Her smile faltered a little. “I’m afraid she’s still asleep… but please, come in, I’ll serve you tea.” She made a movement with her hand indicating the way. Once Byakuren entered the room, Daiyousei uncovered Cirno's mouth. She bowed. "T-thank you... And please forgive my friend, miss." she said, and followed the way indicated. Cirno and Rumia did so as well. The former stuck her tongue out at Murasa, and rushed to her friend's side. The latter scouted the area around her, just in case she could find something to eat, preferably a human. Byakuren started preparing the tea. “It’s quite alright, Murasa-chan can also be a bit of a hot-head too sometimes.” She turned at them. “As I was saying, your friend is stable. We have treated her wounds but she has yet to open her eyes.” Her brows furrowed a bit. “It will likely take a lot of time for everyone afflicted by this spell to wake.“ "A spell...?" Daiyousei looked at Byakuren curiously. "You mean... The one who did this is a magician..?" The ice fairy floated around the area, taking a look at whatever she would find curious. The whistling of boiling water indicated them the tea was ready. The monk turned around once again and poured it into cups. “’Magician’ is probably too strong a word. This is the work of someone with magical powers, that fact is true, however, it doesn’t mean the culprit is one.” She gave each of the guests a cup of tea. While Cirno and Rumia each drank from their own cup, Dai looked at it, without touching it. "How... How dangerous is that spell...? I mean, if Sunny hasn't woken up yet..." the great fairy asked. “This spell has its origin in the dark arts and…” She looked at her hands with a thoughtful expression, a glint of shame in her eyes. “…those are always bad.” She raised her eyes to the fairies. “This spell has the potential to become deadly. It seems to me that it is being used to sip the victim’s life force but unfortunately, I don’t have enough information about it to make a complete analysis. If I could see the magical sigil that was used to cast this spell, I would be able to learn more about this, however, it disappeared before Sunny-san arrived.” " A sigil...? Wait... Uhm... I remember seeing Marisa having this weird glowy thing on her neck. It was something like..." Dai tried to explain what she had seen as best as she could. “Was Kirisame-san attacked?” She asked worriedly. “Is she alright?” "U-uhm... Yeah, I think she was... I... I think she was in a lot of pain... Or at least it seemed like it when Cirno attacked her..." Dai answered, still not having touched her tea cup. “Oh my… That might be a serious problem…” She trailed off. "I guess so... But please, regarding the sigil..." Dai tried to retake the original conversation. Byakuren seemed quite knowledgable about this to Dai, so maybe... She nodded negatively. “If Kirisame-san still has the sigil on her, she will be of great help to solve this incident. Magical sigils are a complex affair, we may try to counter them but without knowing its intricacies we won’t be able to lift the spell completely, unless we are extremely lucky. This is especially true when it comes to the dark arts." Dai shook her head. "I think I kind of got lost... You mean that you'd need to see the sigil yourself to investigate it...?" Byakuren nodded. “See it as fixing a clock. There are different kinds of clocks, you may have a general idea on how to fix them but, in order to know exactly how to fix that specific clock, you need to peek inside it, to analyze how it’s assembled, how each of its components works and understand what makes it tick. Magic sigils work in the same fashion.” "I see... Well... Seeing it would be difficult, since Marisa went somewhere after we confronted the culprit... And we don't know where she is." Dai said, seeming somewhat intimidated. “I see… I will ask Shou-chan to search for her, we might even stumble across new clues in our search.” She said quietly. “Kirisame-san shouldn’t be left alone like that, it’s too dangerous.” The monk sat down, arms crossed. “You say you faced the culprit, what can you tell me about him?” "Well... I don't know... I was helping on healing Keine-san, who was... who was..." Dai struggled to continue talking. Tears came down from her eyes, for the 3rd time today. *BGM: None*
Byakuren's eyes went a bit wide. “Has something happened to Kamishirasawa-san?”
"S-she got attacked as well... She was bleeding so much... The rabbit girl was helping her when we left, but still... What if...?" Dai answered, stopping each sentence, trying to stop crying. The ice fairy tried to comfort her friend. “Murasa-chan.” Byakuren called, her voice serious. After a brief moment, Murasa opened the door. “Yes?” “Please go to the Human Village, take Ichirin with you. Kamishirasawa-san is injured, we need to protect the village while she isn’t there.” “But… I doubt the youkai will…” She looked at Murasa. “It’s not the youkai I’m expecting to attack.” Murasa seemed to understand what she meant and nodded, rushing out a moment after. “There is no better doctor than Yagokoro-san, I’m sure she will do whatever is in her power to help.” Byakuren said reassuringly. Dai wiped off the tears from her eyes. "Y-you said before that Marisa having being attacked would be a problem... What did you mean by that...?" she said, changing the conversation's topic as fast as she could. *BGM: Is a Transparent Enemy our Ally? ~ Mary, the Magician (Fantasy Maiden Wars Scarlet)*
“The attack, while dangerous, it’s not the issue. But the magical sigil is. Magical sigils aren't just used to cast spells. In order to steal life force from someone, first the caster needs to create a link between him and the victim, only then can he access and absorb it. Life force is something essential, not only due to survival reasons… but in order for people to be themselves, as it’s closely related to our soul. It is what keeps it and us alive.” She paused. “Our soul is our being. Absorbing someone’s life essence to an excessive point is akin to shattering a bit of their own soul.”She looked at Dai and summarized what she had just said. “The fact Kirisame-san still has the sigil engraved on her skin not only means that the culprit can easily locate her but also that it can continue to absorb her life force, even if in small portions.”Dai stayed silent. "Why... Why does this have to happen...? Is... Is there anyway to remove the seal... Or to track the one who did it...?"“There is always a way to remove a magical sigil, but most times than not it’s requires a complex ritual or, ultimately, the death of the one who casted it. As for tracking the culprit, the link the caster created works both ways. It’s easier for him to find Kirisame-san, but Kirisame-san will also be able to tell if he’s close.”"... Do you have any idea of who could have casted the spell...?" Dai asked.Byakuren nodded negatively.“The dark arts are a broad field of study. It can range from Necromancy to Seiðr and each of them has their own sub sects. It may be something that becomes clearer if I see the sigil… or something that becomes even more confusing.”Dai trembled a little. "Why do you think this is happening... What is the culprit searching for...? Why is he trying to bring Gensokyo to ruin?!" Dai screamed, finally losing her temperament. Both Cirno and Rumia backed away. Dai calmed down a second later. "I-I'm sorry... What I mean is... If you have seen more people who have been attacked... Is there something in common between them...?"The monk calmly closed her eyes in thought.“Light and darkness, one cannot exist without the other, they’re opposing and yet balanced forces. In order for people to appreciate the light they must learn what is darkness. “A smile made its way to Byakuren’s face.“Because we learned what darkness was we created fire and we grew stronger. So shall Gensokyo.”Once again, Byakuren nodded her head negatively.“All the youkai that have been brought here were of different kinds. I can’t see anything in common between them…”"... I did not get half of what Weird-Hair said." the ice fairy said."... 'Because these incidents happen, Gensokyo grows stronger...' And so do its denizens..." Dai stood up. "Thank you for your help... We'll inform Marisa of what you told us. ... And thanks for taking care of Sunny."She smiled. “You have nothing to thank me for. Please send Kirisame-san my way if you do find her and take care. Fairies or not you should be careful, we don’t know who we are dealing with.”Dai bowed and left the room, followed by her companions. Her tea cup was still there, not a single drop missing.---Outside the Myouren Temple..."So, we know now all this complicated stuff. Where are we going now, Dai?" the youkai of darkness asked.Dai looked at the horizon, not saying a word. "... We're gonna go after Marisa. She needs to know all of this as soon as possible." she said. And she took flight in a general direction."H-hey! What's with the hurry?!" Rumia said, and quickly followed. Cirno followed suit... As soon as she finished freezing a frog that was passing by. Addendum:

Wobbling through the snow, Marisa slowly made her way further into the Human Village. Her mind was in complete disarray and she had ceased to pay attention to where she was going, walking mechanically while lost in thought. But a soft sound behind her snapped her momentarily back to reality.
“Why are you following me?” Her hoarse voice asked tiredly to the silver haired maid quietly following her. “This is the way to ojou-sama's Mansion." As expected, a short and concise answer.
The witch didn’t answer back, she felt miserable and that quelled her usual cheerful and talkative demeanor. She was sure she looked equally miserable, with her torn and dirty clothes, her bandaged forehead and arm, dried blood sticking to her face and an exhausted look.
"Here." She heard the woman behind her say. Marisa turned around to see Sakuya extending her a cloth. "You have blood on your face." "Thanks." The blonde mumbled, grabbing the cloth and wiping her face with it.
When she arrived at the center of the village she scanned her surroundings, finding the village pretty much deserted.
“Alice! Alice!” She called but got no answer. The village was big, if Alice was still there, she could be anywhere. ‘Why would she still be here anyway? She’s probably mad at me for dragging her here and then ditching her.’
She stopped and looked and the starless sky, snow was now starting to fall. Marisa extended her hand palm up and out of it came multicolored stars, zipping up to the sky like fireworks. Her danmaku was very well known, if Alice was still around she would recognize it and pin-point her location.
With a tired sigh, the witch sat down on the porch of a nearby house, head buried in her arms and arms resting on her knees. ‘Why did I have to tell Keine to go face that thing by herself? If I had kept my mouth shut she…’
All that blood was very present in her mind. Up till that point, Marisa’s definition of battle was based on danmaku. No one ever got seriously injured, everyone had fun while fighting and… No. She had realized that wasn’t fighting, that wasn’t battling, that was purely the concept she had created in her mind due to her own naivete - danmaku was just a game.
Without much of a pip, she cleaned up the tears welling in her eyes, sniffling quietly. Now she was crying, how weaker could she get?
She rested her head on her arms again, snow gathering on top of her hat. She didn’t feel cold, however, it was honestly a pleasant feeling - she could feel that her fever had gotten worse and the cold feeling of the snow made her feel better.
‘I hope… Keine is ok…’
Closing her eyes, she let herself get lulled by the cold winter wind.

without further ado!
-
Utsuho stretched as she ascended from the entrance to Hell, letting out a content sigh as she felt the cool night air hit her face. "Wow, it really is nighttime!" she said cheerfully, looking up at the sky. "The stars...hmm, there are none in the sky tonight. What a shame...oh well!"
She decided to not let the starless night wear down her mood. There were quite a bit of things she needed to do, after all. Taking off into the skies, she looked around until she spotted the Youkai Mountain in the distance. Grinning, she zoomed toward the landmark.
"Alright, the shrine of the two goddesses! I'll always remember where this is since it's the only one on a mountain!" Utsuho laughed as she landed on the front steps of the Moriya shrine. "Time to say hi to everyone!"
Making her way up the steps, she was about to barge in, but figured it would be impolite to do so (and she'd probably be hurt by them, she noted), and knocked a few times on the door.
Kanako opened the door. “Oh… This is unexpected. Long time no see, Utsuho.”
The goddess smiled, though she looked worried about something.
"I decided to drop by and say hi, Miss Goddess!" Utsuho smiled back, though her smile turned into a frown when she noticed the worry in Kanako's expression. "Something wrong?"
Kanako crossed her arms. “Sanae isn’t feeling quite herself at the moment…” She looked at Utsuho and smiled once more. “I suppose she would cheer up if you’re around, however.”
She gestured inside. “Please, come in.”
"Oh, I'll be sure to help with that!" the hell raven replied as she followed the goddess inside. "What happened to the shrine maiden, anyway?"
“Well… she just faced a really troublesome opponent. She’s a little shaken right now.” The goddess didn’t elaborate, she felt like it should be Sanae’s decision to do so if it pleased her.
Utsuho nodded in understanding. "Alright, I'll see what's up with her," she responded.
Kanako nodded. "She's in her room." She motioned with her head. "I'll prepare some tea and snacks in the meantime. Suwako should return with the daifuku too."
"Thanks Miss Goddess!" the hell raven told her, bowing in respect. She then turned and faced Sanae's room.
"Operation: Cheer Up the Shrine Maiden is a go!" Utsuho exclaimed. She reached for the knob, but retracted her hand, figuring Sanae was in a delicate state. So she instead knocked quietly.
"Hmm? Who's there? Kanako-sama? Suwako-sama?" Sanae's quiet and slightly shaken voice called.
"Um, neither! It's me, Utsuho Reiuji! I'm here because I heard that you were shaken up about something...would you like to talk about it?" the brown-haired girl responded.
"Oh, you're that hell raven girl...well, alright then, come inside."
Opening the door, Utsuho peered inside and saw the green-haired girl sitting up on her bed, a blanket wrapped around her. Looking at her face, she noticed that her cheeks were red and her green eyes were half-closed, giving her a tired looking appearance. Closing the door behind her, Utsuho moved to sit beside her. "It's weird seeing you look so sad..." she started. "I mean, from what I've seen of you, you always seemed optimistic."
"Well, I can see why you'd say that..." Sanae giggled a little, looking down into her hands. "I probably look rather pathetic right now, huh..."
"N-No, that's not what I meant at all. I didn't mean to offend you," Utsuho responding, holding her hands up in defense. "I'm just surprised, is all..."
"Oh, don't worry about a thing, Utsuho-san. I understand what you meant," the shrine maiden assured her. "And I'm fairly touched that you're in here to keep me company, even though we don't know each other very well."
The hell raven smiled. "Well, I wanted to be nice and help you out...if you want, you can tell me what's troubling you and I can listen," she offered.
Sanae sighed quietly, flinching a bit remembering what she was exposed to not too long ago. Noticing this, Utsuho frowned. "S-Sorry, was that insensitive of me...?"
"N-No, it wasn't...just...I saw certain fears of mine...it felt so real...I-I..." Sanae trailed off, fighting back unshed tears. "I-I'm sorry...I-it kinda pains me to think about...I-I can't bring up what happened, U-Utsuho-san...I hope you understand..."
"I-I see...I understand..." Utsuho said quietly, feeling pity for the other girl. What she saw definitely seemed to have shaken her up pretty badly, and the hell raven felt guilty about all this. She didn't know what to say to do or say to provide comfort to the miko.
Suddenly, an idea appeared in Utsuho's mind. Moving closer to Sanae, she wrapped her arms around her and pulled her into a warm hug. Surprised at the gesture, Sanae's eyes widened a little, and then closed as she smiled a little. She wrapped her arms around Utsuho back and returned the hug.
"I feel this is all I can do for you, Sanae..." she heard the brown-haired girl say. "I'm sorry I can't do more...I just don't know what to say..."
Tears of happiness started to slowly leak from Sanae's closed eyes. "I-It's quite fine, Utsuho-san...just the fact that you're here and providing me with such kindness is enough...thank you so much..."
At that point, another idea popped up in Utsuho's mind. "And this one even better than the last!" she thought, her smile returning to her face.
Pulling away from Sanae and putting her hands on her shoulders, Utsuho looked at her with a fiery determination. "I know what I can do! Until you feel better, I will not leave your side! I don't want this troubling you anymore, Sanae!"
Not expecting such a passionate declaration, Sanae's face turned red. She's never felt so flattered before. "W-Wow, t-that's...awfully nice of you, Utsuho-san," she responded, smiling warmly. "T-Thank you. I'm sure we'll get to know each other better, as well."
"That's the goal~" Utsuho giggled, pulling Sanae into a hug again. She then added at the back of her mind: "Also, maybe I can find out about this thing that hurt you and teach it a lesson...yeah, I'm liking the sound of that!"
Outside of Sanae's room, Kanako smiled in satisfaction and walked down the hall, holding the amulets tightly in her hand.
"I'll have a job for the both of them soon. I feel they'll make quite the team," she said to herself. "This threat must be stopped."

“Honestly, what a troublesome incident. Couldn’t they wait until it gets warmer?”
A lonely figured trudged through the snow, shivering slightly and cursing her miko uniform. Maybe she should create a winter version of that. She had been walking around the Human Village for a while now but found no signs of the culprit. Granted, she hadn’t been search for long. She had accidentally fell asleep after meeting Youmu and Sanae and only then did she hear about the rumors.
Something in the sky flashed and the miko looked to see what it was. The previously starless sky was now illuminated by colorful stars, stars that were all too familiar for her.
‘Marisa?’ Reimu flew off, following the direction pointed by the stars. She landed a few minutes later, noticing Marisa sitting on a porch, apparently asleep and Sakuya standing there, looking at her.
“Isn’t watching innocent girls sleeping kind of a creepy hobby to have, Sakuya?” She asked in her usual dead-pan voice and proceeded to check on Marisa.
“Hey, wake up! What exactly are you doing sleeping in this cold? Do you have a death wish?” Marisa stayed silent and that made Reimu frown. Peeping under the hat she could see how miserable Marisa looked. “What happened?” She asked Sakuya without looking at her and picked Marisa up, getting a clear view on the battered witch.
Taking a look at the sigil in the witch's neck she knew this had something to do with the incident.

Reimu was fighting something, she couldn’t tell what exactly, she could just open her right eye and her head hurt. Through her blurry eye she could see that it was a familiar figure, cloaked in black, green orbs shining inside the hood, it now had a claymore, wisps of smoke coming out of its blade. It hit Reimu sending her flying through a tombstone. A graveyard… Marisa could tell she was touching water, but when she looked down it was colored red and floating in it were skulls. She tried to move but couldn’t. Her heart was drumming in her ears, she looked at the grim reaper, this time it was fighting Alice. The doll maker seemed to be holding her ground but with a strong downward swing she was brought to her knees. The following swing was fast, too fast for Alice to dodge… “Alice!” Marisa flashed her eyes open, sitting up and immediately regretting it as pain shot through her body. “Ah, I knew it!” A red and white figure rose from the chair next to her bed, cracking her knuckles. “This makes things easier.” “Rei...mu?” “It could only be her, I guess. It couldn’t be you and Patchouli is a useless hikikomori shut-in so it couldn’t be her either.” “Aren’t you misunderstanding something?” “ She’s not the culprit?” “No.” Marisa replied hoarsely. “I was having a nightmare…” Reimu nodded her head knowingly. “Yes, I understand that. I mean, Alice lives alone… with dolls. If that’s not nightmare fuel…” In a regular day Marisa would’ve groaned at that, but now she decided on trying to gather her surroundings. “You’re in Eientei.” Reimu offered as she sat down again. “I brought you here. I even had to beat that idiot fairy and her friends in the process, they just wouldn’t let me go. How are you planning to pay me for the trouble?” The magician didn’t answer, her eyes were fixated on the bed on the other side of the room. There was Keine, Mokou was sitting on a chair with her back turned to her, she couldn’t tell if the woman was sleeping. She gritted her teeth and clenched her hands. “Sakuya told me what happened. It wasn’t your fault.” The miko said, her voice quieter than before. “Yes, it was. If only I hadn’t…” “’If only I hadn’t’, ‘Had I known I’d’. Those sentences are meaningless. What happened, happened. There are no 'ifs', you couldn’t have known how it would turn out.” “I knew how dangerous that thing was and yet…” “Then what would’ve happened if Keine didn’t fight it?” “Then she wouldn’t be—“ “How do you know that?” Reimu was looking at her in the eyes, her voice calm but firm. “How can you be so sure that the creature wouldn’t chase you? How do you know if it wouldn’t kill you both?” “I don’t—“ “Exactly, you don’t.” She crossed her arms. “Look, if you have energy to think about what could’ve been, then you should use it to fix the present. We still have an incident in our hands.” Marisa didn't say anything, eyes downcast. “The present is all that matters.” “Hn.” After a few seconds of silence, the miko spoke again, her voice sounding serious. “More importantly... How…” Alerted to the seriousness of the miko’s voice, Marisa looked at her. “How…?” The witch prompted Reimu to continue, her expression as serious as Reimu’s. “How are you so light despite eating nothing but snacks?” “What.” “I know you’re hiding something! Come on, tell me! I’ll give you a rice cracker.”
Marisa’s vein popped. What was Reimu thinking? Of all the moments to talk about that kind of stuff… “How is that more important!? You’re a good for nothing miko who spends the winter under her kotatsu, doing nothing but eating crackers and drinking tea! You’re so lazy that you’d probably die suffocated if your body didn’t do the breathing for you ze! That’s the secret…” She trailed off, noticing a smile on Reimu’s face. “What?”
“Nothing, it seems like some of your usual self is back. It’s unusual, you know, to see you like this.”
“Ah…” She scratched the back of her head. “I’m sorry…” She smiled sheepishly. “Thanks, Reimu.” Reimu nodded, smiling. “You’re welcome. Oh, and…” She squeezed Marisa’s bandaged arm. “Gaah! What was that for!?” “Don’t ever call me a good for nothing.”

Suwako yawned and rubbed her eyes as she walked into the room Kanako was in, rubbing her eyes. "So, what did I miss?" she said loudly. "It's pretty late, but all the lights are on. What's going on?"
Kanako looked at Suwako and sighed.
“Mid-night detective time.” She rubbed her head while glaring at Suwako. “I could have used your help, you know? “
Suwako grinned tiredly. "Well sorry, but my beauty sleep is important to me~" she retorted, moving to lay down on the ground. She rolled over and looked at Kanako, her face suddenly turning serious. "But I'm still curious. What exactly went on?"
“Remember the incident about the villagers collapsing? Sanae and I went to investigate the house of one of the victims. It turns out our culprit is learning new things.” Kanako took the talisman she had found and put them on the table, a serious look on her face.
Suwako grabbed the talisman and inspected it, narrowing her eyes. "Did something happen in the village with you and Sanae?" she asked.
“That thing created a fake image of myself and trapped Sanae inside a room. I don’t know what the illusion told her exactly but…” She looked down, sighing. “It seems like it was something about her not being worthy of being a Moriya miko and that she was a disappointment. Fortunately, she wasn’t harmed physically… psychologically, however… She was still shaken, even after I tried comforting her. I think the Hell Raven helped her a bit, she came here to visit.”
Suwako clenched her fists. How dare whomever or whatever that was causing trouble cause harm to her descendant. Sighing and calming herself down, she looked over to where Sanae's room was located. "Oh, so I guess Reiuji's around then," she replied.
Kanako nodded. "Yes. They've been talking for a while, I'll just let them be. At least Sanae will be distracted."
"Okay, that's fine with me," the frog goddess sighed, looking out a window into the clear night sky. "What have you decided to do about all this?"
"We should talk to the magicians." She sighed. "I suppose Byakuren also counts as one so..."
"Yeah, I'm certain she does. Do you think Sanae would be okay to check them out? Or should I myself go?" Suwako asked.
"I think so. She gets along with Marisa too, maybe her cheerfulness will come in handy to get Sanae back in high spirits."
"Fair enough. Let's get the two girls!" Suwako declared, giggling mischievously. "I hope we don't walk into to something provocative."
Kanako got up from the tatami floor. "Provocative? I doubt we'll find anyone annoying. I think we already got enough bad luck for a day..."
Suwako chuckled, amused at how Kanako missed the meaning of her small joke. But it was no time to play around. She watched as the other goddess made her way over to their shrine maiden's room.
Kanako knocked on the door. "Sanae?"
"Hmm? Kanako-sama?" the girl called in question. "Yes?"
"I suppose I'm being forceful, but... we must continue our investigation. It's alright if you want to rest for a while longer, I just wanted to make sure if you don't want to join us."
"Ah, I think it'll be alright if I go...I'm rested enough, and Utsuho here will help me out if I need it. Just let me get prepared," Sanae responded, her voice filled with assurance.
Kanako looked at Suwako with a semi-concerned look that spelled 'Do you think she's really alright?'.
Suwako smiled softly. "Sanae's a strong girl. I'm sure she'll be fine," she confirmed.
"I suppose..." Kanako trailed off and went quiet as she waited.
Sanae emerged from the room, tidying up her hair quickly before adjusting her frog and snake ornaments in it. Utsuho followed her out, smiling widely when she saw Suwako nearby.
"Hey, it's the other goddess!" she exclaimed. "Good to see you!"
Suwako giggled. "It's good to see you, too, Reiuji-san~ I take it you're going to help us?"
"You bet!" the hell raven replied. "I'm Sanae's bodyguard~"
Suwako nudged Kanako, grinning. "Looks like everything will be okay, eh?"
Kanako smiled faintly, closing her eyes. "Yes, yes."
She turned around and walked outside. "Should we search for the black-white first?"
"Eh, why?" Sanae asked, widening her eyes in surprise.
Kanako looked at Sanae. "Do you have someone else in mind?" 'I guess she's fine already, no need for Marisa to cheer her up.'
Sanae put a finger to her chin. "What about Reimu?"
Kanako raised her brows, skeptical about the red-white's competence. "Do you think the Hakurei miko has made her move already?"
"It's Reimu, she HAS to have done something about this," Sanae argued. "Honestly, I don't mind her or Marisa-san in terms of someone to meet up with, now that I think about it, but we probably need to move fast, right Kanako-sama?"
"Well, if you belive in the Hakurei miko's competence I'll trust your judgement. Let's make haste to the Hakurei Shrine, then."
"Aw yeah, that red-white shrine maiden. Let's see what she has to say!" Utsuho piped in. "Ready to go, Sanae?"
"Y-Yeah, I suppose I am, Utsuho-san," Sanae responded. "Okay, let's go!"

Eirin had been standing at the door, surveying the conversation between the Miko and the Witch.
“Hey, now, don’t roughhouse with the patients” She said, startling both girls. Eirin smiled, and tilted her head. “Oh, don’t mind me. Keep talking, it was just getting interesting!” Marisa looked away, embarrassed. If there was something she hated was to show her weak side. The miko, on the other hand, starred at Eirin, crossing her arms.
“If you have enough free time to spy on people’s conversations you could bring your guests some tea, no?” She looked down, pondering and then looked up at the doctor again. "Ah, and some food too. I'm starving."
Eirin laughed, and shook her head. “No, I’m actually quite busy. I just didn’t have the heart to stop you two…” Eirin tapped her clipboard.
“Usually, I have good help around here. Now, unfortunately, my assistant isn’t feeling well. She walked into Eientei with the phoenix and the teacher over there, and promptly passed out.”
Eirin turned to look at Marisa. “You wouldn’t happen to know anything about that, now, would you?”
The magician looked down.
“I’m sorry, she ended up like that because I made her tag along ze.” She looked at Eirin. “I got in a fight with Keine and got hurt, she spotted me and came to help me.”
Clenching her hands, she continued. “We then went after the creature responsible for all those villagers collapsing. That’s…” Her eyes fell on the bed on the other side of the room. “…How Keine was injured.”
Eirin sighed, and looked over at Keine and Mokou. “A truly unfortunate turn of events. A creature capable of doing that is definitely something that should be dealt with…” Eirin trailed off, as if lost in thought.
Then, suddenly turning back to Marisa, she said “but a problem can always be solved by asking the right questions. And I’m certain you have some answers I’m looking for.”
Eirin faced Reimu, and pointing to the door, said “Now, you may leave. There is tea and food in the room on the third door to the left. I need some alone time with Ms. Kirisame.”
Reimu didn’t move and shifted her eyes towards Marisa. “I’m okay now. You don’t need to keep babysitting me.” The blonde answered with a smile. “Fine.” The miko stood up. “Don’t come crying if she does anything weird to you.” She walked off and left the room. ‘Time to do some investigating of my own.’
Marisa was staring at Eirin in the eyes. “I want to solve this as much as you, I’ll tell you everything you wanna to know ze.”
“Well, I’m glad to see you’re as enthusiastic about this as I am” Eirin replied, returning Marisa’s gaze. “You may lay back down, if it’s what is more comfortable for you. All I need you to do is talk.” Eirin pulled a chair to the side of Marisa’s bed, and sat down. Taking a pen from her dress, she put her hand on her clipboard, and once again turned to Marisa.
“I suppose we should start with the basics. Can you tell me what this beast looks like?”
“That’s the thing.” Marisa put her hand on her chin, thinking. “I don’t think it has a form, rather, it shapeshifts. When it first attacked me, I was in my home, it looked like your typical image of a grim reaper: wearing a dark cloak that covered its face though you could see two green orbs shining like flames where its eyes should be, skeleton hands. But when it was fighting Keine, it had the form of a hakutaku, it had colors similar to Keine’s hakutaku form. When we defeated it, it shattered… like a glass, and regained the same form I knew, but now it was wielding a scythe.”
Eirin wrote down everything Marisa said, then paused to ask “Well, can we assume it’s preferred, or even original, form is this “grim reaper” shape? If what you say is true, it’s looked like that more often than not.”
“Hum… It turned into that form when it saw me. It went ‘you’ and didn’t seem very pleased to see me… It maybe be its original form or just something else. If we consider that it took the hakutaku form because Keine is afraid of turning into a hakutaku…” She sighed. “But I’m not scared of grim reapers so maybe that’s not it…”
Eirin tapped her chin with her pen. “Perhaps you are afraid of death itself. Or perhaps others dying. In any case, I do not think we have enough information to infer further. Are you ready for the next question?”
“Others dying, huh? …I guess that might be right…” She nodded at Eirin’s question. “Shoot.”

“Alright. Now, I know others have heard this already, but I’d prefer a first-hand account. What happened last night, when the creature paid you a visit?” “It strangled me and I started feeling weak. I suppose it was because of the magic sigil.” She pointed at her neck. “It tried doing something similar to Cirno too. That thing was trying to steal life essence from the victims, I could sense it clearly when it attacked her ze. Other than that, it summoned some skeleton hands to hold me down and… Oh! It said something… something along the line of ‘Why did they take them away’, I don’t know what it meant. Then it started saying I would never amount to anything, I accidentally bumped a candle to the floor and it scared it away. It’s scared of fire.” Eirin continued to write notes as she looked directly as Marisa. “Interesting, Interesting…” she said, seemingly pondering something important. “It’s scared of fire… well, that’s certainly useful information, at least for combating it. Aside from fire, did it seem to have any other vulnerabilities?” Marisa nodded negatively. “Not that I’ve noticed. But even if it was scared of fire, it didn’t seem to actually burn it or damage it. None of our attacks did. It screamed and shattered but there were no wounds or blood.” “Well, that’s a little troubling…” Eirin observed, chewing the end of her pen. “So, do you have any clue as to who could be behind this? It seems too… strange… to not be anyone of significance.” Marisa frowned. “I don’t know for sure… Taking its modus operandi it seems to always be connected to magic ze. It’s isn’t me and it’s not Alice either. Patchouli would never do something like this, not to mention Byakuren… But if we take magic out of consideration, it could be Nue... or maybe Mamizou. But why would they try to kill Keine to begin with?” Eirin clucked her tongue thoughtfully. “It doesn’t seem to discriminate between targets, as far as I can tell. But I haven’t heard of something like this in my lifetime, so whatever is involved must be very old…” Eirin jotted a few more notes down, then continued “I would gander that magic has to be involved, somehow. I think if would be lucrative to investigate further, in that direction. Finally, I’d like to know more about the sigil on your neck.” Eirin suddenly frowned, and added “I’ve analyzed it to the best of my medical abilities, but whatever magic is behind it is, as I said before, very old. I haven’t the faintest clue as to what it really is…” Eirin trailed off, seeming a little disappointed. “Ah… I was going to ask if you had found out a way that I could get rid of it…” Marisa looked a little disappointed. “I noticed that each time I use my magic it’s like it… absorbs part of it. It doesn’t give me much problem besides well… fever and stuff, but it looks like it activates when I use a spell. It’s really annoying ze. But… I suppose that whatever this is connects me to the ripper somehow. It starts burning like crazy if it’s nearby. Kinda like a ripper detector, I guess… eh.” She rubbed her neck. “Though if it’s that old… I wonder if either Byakuren or Patchouli will know something about it…” Eirin chuckled, and said “Oh, it has a nickname now? Ripper…” Eirin repeated the word a few times. “I have a feeling I’m going to be hearing that a lot, soon enough. Also, I never said I couldn’t help with the sigil, merely that its origin Is beyond my expertise.” “Oh, you do?” Marisa listened intently to Eirin. “Of course” Eirin replied, encouragingly. “I could hardly call myself a doctor if I had nothing for you, after all.”

Eirin reached once again into her dress, and procured a small bottle. “These pills are magic suppressants. They don’t exactly cure the mark, but they can keep it out of the way for extended periods of time.” Eirin popped one pill into her hand, and handed it to Marisa. “One of these should keep the magic at bay for around 24 hours. The magic may be old, but it’s still magic.” Eirin had regained her air of intelligent confidence, as Marisa examined the pill. "Hum... Will it suppress my magic too or just this thing's?" “Technically, yes, but it should be insignificant for you.” Eirin said. “The mark itself isn’t very powerful, but it feeds off of your magic. This suppressant isn’t very powerful, but it is enough to keep the mark from activating. Unfortunately, removing it entirely is another matter.” Marisa looked suspiciously at the pill, considering how it would affect her kickass Master Spark. “…” “And before you ask, you’re favorite spell should remain unaffected. The massive amounts of magic expelled in the blast is large enough that, even with the pill, it will still raze whatever is in front of you to the ground…” Eirin thought back to the damage caused last time she had witnessed it, cringed a little, then continued: “Think of it like scooping a fly out of a lake with a bowl. You took some water with you, but now the fly can’t infest and ruin the water.” “I see… Thank you ze! I’ll keep them.” She smiled but her smile faltered a bit few seconds after and her voice went quiet. She was afraid to know so she had been postponing … “But the most important question I have... Is Keine… gonna be alright?” Eirin maintained her smile, and said “Ms. Kamishirasawa is healing quite nice. She’s very lucky that she heals quickly, and that my assistant was there to help her. Although Reisen did a rather unprofessional job with that. I’ll have to remember to dole out a suitable punishment” Eirin’s smile turned a little more serious, and she looked over at Keine’s prone body. “Unfortunately, she will have scars. Even the monsters physical attacks seem imbued with a magic. The long-term healing will be slow.” Marisa’s whole semblance seemed to lighten up at that, she sighed deeply and smiled brightly. “I’m so glad to hear that…” She grinned at Eirin. “Thank you, really, doc! You have my gratitude ze.” Eirin smiled warmly. “It wasn’t a problem, really. Merely doing my job. But…” Eirin’s tone seemed to darken, and her eyes stared intently at Marisa. “We are yet to discuss what condition YOU are in, Ms. Kirisame.” Marisa felt cold sweat trailing down her face. “M-my condition? But I feel a lot better! See, I can move just fine!” She proceeded to wave her arms around to get her point across, trying her best not to wince. Eirin tilted her head, and quietly said "Oh, honey..."There was a sad look in her eyes. “…I-if you’re joking this isn’t funny…” She was getting worried now. “Well, if you don’t notice it now, I guess it isn’t important…” Eirin suddenly brightened up. “In other news, you’ll be able to leave by tomorrow morning. So I suggest you get some rest today. Thank you very much for this information, Marisa. Now excuse me, I have to go wake up Udonge. She has a lot of work to do.” Eirin then promptly left the room, leaving Marisa to her thoughts. “Oi! Wait!” She watched as Eirin left. “W-what do you mean it’s not important!” She stood there for some silent minutes and then started to frantically inspect her arms and then her legs and then she looked under her kimono at her chest. ‘Everything is okay, I feel fine and she says I can leave tomorrow…' She glared at the door Eirin had exited. ‘She’s totally pulling my leg ze.’

Marisa looked at the bed where Keine was laying and then to the silver haired woman next to it. She was overjoyed to know the teacher would be alright but it still felt like a punch in the gut, each time she remembered all that blood and the hakutaku laying on it. Once again, she looked at her hands and then finally decided to speak. Her voice was quiet but loud enough for Mokou to hear. “Hey, Mokou… Are you awake?” She waited a few seconds for a reply that didn’t come. The witch wasn’t sure if the woman was sleeping or if she was holding any grudge towards her, or if she simply didn’t feel like talking, yet she continued. “I’m sorry. I was the one who told her to go after the ripper… If she had stayed with me and refused to go after it she would probably be safe and sound by now.” Running a hand through her hair, she continued. “I know she means a lot to you...”” The witch forced a smile, though she still didn’t feel confident enough to look at Mokou again to check if she was listening. “But Eirin said she would be fine… I guess her hakutaku form came in handy after all.” She winced at her own insensible words and mentally punched herself. “I mean, she’s safe now! And we’re gonna catch the bastard behind this ze.” She let the silence fall in the room again and decided to stay quiet before she’d say anything stupid... again.

Collab with Dani yet again.
A cloud of white smoke formed in the air, big enough to cover a child entirely. A green-haired fairy appeared inside the cloud and landed on the floor, panting. Her entire body hurt, like if someone or something hit her really hard... She couldn't remember anything, though. " W-what was I...? What am I...?" the green fairy thought to herself. "Oh hey. You finally respawned." A blonde girl, clad in darkness, got close to the fairy. The fairy felt somewhat scared of the youkai and... What. How did she know that girl was a youkai...? "W-who are you...?" the fairy asked. The youkai tilted her head to a side. "Oh, right. You fairies forget most stuff upon dying. Okay, let's recap... I'm Rumia. You're Daiyousei... That's what everyone calls you anyway. We're friends." the youkai smiled. "We were searching for the black-white magician, named Marisa, because she was in danger of dying because of this weird thing she had on her neck. However, we encountered the red-white shrine maiden, Reimu, and she pulled off a spellcard on all three of us. She was annoyed, I think. You and your ice fairy friend, Cirno, were "killed" so to speak. You remember everything now?" Daiyousei slowly nodded. So that's why her body hurt so much... She tasted it once during the Scarlet Mist Incident... Reimu's Fantasy Seal hurts a lot. Another cloud of white smoke formed near them, and Cirno came out of it. She seemed as confused as Dai was a moment ago. "Well... Guess I'll have to explain things to her as well." Rumia sighed and got near Cirno. She began telling the ice fairy what she had told the green-haired fairy before. When she was done, she went back to Dai, carrying Cirno with her. "Well, boss, what do we do now? I'm guessing you still want to go after Marisa." The green-haired fairy nodded. "We need to tell her about this, no matter what... So yeah, we're going after her." The youkai nodded and crossed her arms. "Alright then. I think they went in the direction of that bamboo forest place." The green-haired fairy nodded once more and took off into the air, followed by her companions. --- The fairies and the youkai flew as fast as they could through the bamboo forest. According to the fairies around the area, the shrine maiden had passed through here long ago, but they hadn't seen her leave yet. They didn't see the magician though. "Do you really think Marisa will be with Reimu?" the youkai asked. "It's the best thing we can do... If she isn't... Well, we'll just ask her." the green-haired fairy answered. "Now, speed up!" she said, and hurried up even more, the ice fairy following closely behind her. However... The darkness youkai stopped flying for a second and looked to a side. There was something there. She saw it. She looked back to the fairies. " Well... Hopefully they won't mind me being a little late..." she thought, and went in search of whatever it was what she had just seen. Reimu walked along the Bamboo Forest while munching on the mochi she had taken from the lunarians. ‘Hum… If the ripper’s original form is a reaper… I think I know who to beat up.’ The fairies were still flying through the Bamboo Forest... Until they suddenly came to a stop, staying in front of the red-white shrine maiden. Both fairies stayed in silence for a minute, until... "You! You meanie, fairy-bullying, poor shrine maiden! You're gonna pay for what you did to us before!" the ice fairy shouted, seeming angry at the shrine maiden. The miko stopped for a second to look at Cirno, took another bite of her mocha and continued her way without uttering a single word. "Hey, didn't you hear me!?" the ice fairy said. "Fine, have it your way! I'll get the first strike!" Cirno said, as she took out a spellcard. "W-wait, Cirno!" the green-haired fairy tried to stop her friend, but sadly... " Ice Sign [Icicle Machine Gun]!" the ice fairy declared her spellcard and fired a bunch of icicles to Reimu's back. Reimu jumped out of their way. Seriously, what was it with these annoying fairies? All she wanted was to eat in peace while strolling. The miko shoved the mochi into her mouth as she felt a vein popping on her head and started running full speed in Cirno’s direction. She mumbled something incomprehensible through a mouthful of battered rice paste and kicked the ice fairy in the guts. The ice fairy retreated, and materialized an ice sword. "Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Prepare yourself, you shrine maiden because this time you're going down!" And she charged straight for the shrine maiden. With a swift kick, Reimu broke the ice sword and then proceeded to rain a bunch of needles on the fairy while trying to chew the food in her mouth. The ice fairy took out another spellcard while dodging the needles " Freeze Sign [Perfect Fre--" " Thunder Spirit [Mikazuchi Thunder]!" Dai declared a spellcard and thunderbolts rained down on the area, stopping the ice fairy from continuing her attack. No thunderbolt managed to hit neither the ice fairy nor the shrine maiden, though. "Cirno, please! This is not the best moment to pick fights!" she looked at the shrine maiden. "I'm sorry for this, Reimu... Could you please tell us where Marisa is? I.... have something very important to tell her." Reimu raised a hand to tell indicating Dai to wait for a bit. She then proceeded to try and gulp the rest of her treat down. ‘ This was a terrible idea!’ When it successfully travelled down her throat she met Dai’s eyes, trying to look as unfazed as ever even though she was flustered from the effort. “What do you want with her?” "We... We talked with the monk with gradient hair..." the fairy explained. "We told her about what we saw, regarding Marisa's, uhm... Weird thing on her neck. The monk told us that..." Dai took a deep breath. "That thing is slowly draining Marisa's life energy. If we don't take care of it soon... she will probably die." “Wait, wait… Die? Did Byakuren really say that?” The green-haired fairy nodded slowly, not uttering any more words. The green haired fairy didn’t seem to be lying. The miko crossed her arms, a serious expression replacing her annoyed one. “Did she say anything about how to remove it?” "No." she said. "We asked about her but she said that this type of dark magic would be too complicated to remove... At least, without seeing it herself." “She’s in Eientei, come, I’ll show you the way.” The miko turned on her heels and started walking, leading the way. "... Thanks." The green-haired fairy followed the shrine maiden. The ice fairy did so as well, even if she wasn't very willing to do it. Something pierced the silence of the forest, a scream rang through the bamboo canes stopping the group on their tracks. Reimu narrowed her eyes. Someone was in trouble. The scream startled both of the fairies. The voice was familiar to them... And then, Dai realized. "Rumia isn't here... That must mean!!" she said, and flew in the direction of the scream. "D-dai! Hey! Wait!" the ice fairy followed her friend. --- In front of Rumia stood a red haired, red eyed creature. If one saw it from afar, it would just look like a regular human, but up close you could see the black replacing the white of her eyes, glowing red orbs, dark veins dotting the girl’s awfully white face while she displayed a cheshire grin to Rumia, yellow, jagged teeth smiling menacingly at the youkai. She chuckled cheerfully, as if they had been friends since a long time. “W͓̞̳͕̰e̴͍'̨̭̫̠͉̲̯̮re̡ ̘̪͇ǹ͕͙̫o̡͙̪̞̳̦t͙̗͇̣̣͟ ̱̝̱̪͓̠t̼̤̪̝͚h̝̭͈͓̀a͇̣͈t͖̹̪͡ ̼͕̼̼d̼̭̝̮͓̫͝i̠̞͎̘̹f͎͝f̷̖̼̭̟̞͖e̺̘̥̞̠r̮̟̭̩̫͝ḛ̡̤̞̹n̞͙͍̳̜ț̤͍̕,̯ ̧̲̥̥̟̰̺͎y̧̮̦̻̩̹̘ọu̹̣ ̛̭̹̣a̠͈͉̳̦͝ń͇̟͕̻d ̼Ị̲̺.̫̼͎̳̝͚͕.̶͚̲.͔ͅ” She approached Rumia, her tattered cloak dragging through the ground, slowly. “Y̞̪̲o̦͈͓̠̻͓̻u̫ p̧͍̻̟͚͖re͕̟̲ͅy̛͓͉̥̻̹̮̙ ̥̲͓̮͕o̩͎̝̲̩n̯̱͉͖ ͢t͙h̬̜̘ḙ̲̪͍̜ ̘̻h̪̼̰́u̷͚͖̟̹͖m̱̠̹̜̰̺͇a̢̤̬̘͈̫̻ns̥̤.͎̲̺͢ ҉̩I̲̝̙ ̴̩̙̺̫̜p̩r̺̜̙͍͈͝ͅè̜̠͈y͏͎̤ ̤͈o̺̱̗͟n̷͔̙ ̗͡b̰͓͞ò̩t͉̗͖̠͕̳h.҉͇̖̻̭͉̰ͅ” She gnashed her teeth, chuckling childishly once again. “A̪̟̮͘n͓͈ͅd̙͞ ̹̰̞͔̩̗͉͜y̠̝̞͎͝oṵ̸̘̺̙̩ ̴̘̙̭̠l̫̭ọͅo̖̰͠ͅk̻̜̠̺͚ ̩̯͙̹̕s̷̥̲͚̺̫o͍̝̖͎͘, ͏̙̫s͖̹̱̟͖͟o̭ ̻̹͎͈̭͚̬t̷͓̘͔͚à̖͖̰̟͖͙̠s̤͚̬͚̙͍t̸̤̺̞͖̖y̴͓.̨̞͍̟.̝͍̝̲̼.̬̹͍͙̘͖” Rumia took several steps back, her eyes wide open. She was trembling. "Y-you..." She took out a spellcard. " Moon Sign [Moonlight Ray]!" Two big lasers were fired from her arms, forming an arc, and went straight for the creature. The creature twirled out of the way as if it was dancing ballet, it kept approaching her slowly, chuckling. “B͈̜͢u̩͈̼͉t̰̳̥͉̰̀ͅ ͖͔̯̪͈̮̀I̯͚͍͉'̷̟̟͙͈͙͕m͔̝͟ h̸͉̝u̫n̬̬̬͚̰g̡̱̰̰̖r̯y҉̰̤̫̗̫̺͎.͇̳̟͚.͇͙̫̣͕̜͔͜.̩͓̖̰̠̪̱” "Get away from me!" the darkness youkai shouted. " Darkness Sign [Dark Side of the Moon]!" Rumia transformed into a cloud of black smoke and flew around the creature, spreading danmaku all around the place. When the spellcard timed out, she returned to her normal form. The danmaku hit the creature and the ground, snow dust raised in the air with each attack, blocking the view. And in the midst of the sound of bullets hitting their surroundings, chuckling could be heard. As soon as Rumia resumed her normal form, a hand broke from the dust and clasped firmly against the youkai’s neck. The pale arm of the creature was shattering, bits off glass falling from it but still maintaining its form. “P͎̹̘̰̮l̗̥̲e̩̼͈̹͡a͎̣͙̬s͕̖̗̹͠ḛ̙̥,͖̱͚̠̫̱̤ ͕͈̲ͅd̷̩̝̳ḭe̷ ͚̼̥̘f̷͕̫̖o̶r͙͇̥̀ ̀m̦̯̲e̙.͔̤͍͖̦ͅͅ” She spoke in a cheerful tone as her hand started to shine green. "NOW GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU MONSTER!" “´̜M̖̤͢o̫͎ṇ̝̜̦́s͚͞t͖͈̞̗̩̗͎e̩̝r̦̖̣̞͘'̥̹̙̭̫̦̟͞?͏̥” She chuckled again, now humorlessly. Rumia said. "W-what are you doing to me?!" She didn’t answer, her red eyes were staring into Rumia’s own. Rumia stopped struggling. "Please... Please don't kill me..." she begged. "I... I don't want to stop seeing anyone... I won't eat anymore humans but please..." she was on the verge of crying at this point. "'̴̼̺̗̣̹̖S̖̹͍̕t̲͈͓̥̲͇o̠̲̻͓̱̺̜͘p̖ ̥̠͇͖̮͉s̵̝e̲̞e̵̯͖̪i͙̫̖̻̯n̞͕̼̼̳̕g̘͓̭ ̣͔a̟̪̹̻ṇ͖̩̻͈́y̭͞o͏̣͎ͅne͖̳'̪̜̥͕̰̬?̟̠͉̼ͅ" "I... I don't want to stop seeing my friends... Please..." Her hand absorbed a little more of the blue smoke, she watched Rumia closing her tear filled eyes and then she dropped her. The creature stood there for a moment, lost in thought looking at the youkai on the ground. She was breathing steadily but she wasn't sure if she should let her stay like that, still breathing. After a few more moments, she started walking away. Dai finally arrived at the place where the fight occurred, and saw the unconscious youkai on the floor. "No... No no no no!" she quickly ran to Rumia's body and checked it. Dai let out a sigh of relief when she noticed she was still breathing. Cirno arrived seconds after Dai, and stood there, watching Rumia's unconscious body. Reimu looked at the youkai on the ground and then to a silhouette walking off into the forest. She narrowed her eyes as she caught sight of the redish hair. "I'm going after it. Take Rumia to Eientei." The miko said before she flew after the culprit. The green-haired fairy watched as the shrine maiden went after the culprit. Once she had left her field of view, Dai slowly lifted the unconscious Rumia and flew back to the main path, in direction to Eientei. --- " Mmh..." a young, blonde girl spun around on her bed. " So bored... Why didn't that fire girl come to play today...?" The girl spun around 3 times. " Mmh..." she jumped off from her bed and stretched out. " Guess I'll go see what big sis is doing..." The girl slowly opened the door that lead outside her room.

“Hey, Mokou… Are you awake?” a voice calls quietly from behind Mokou's back. Mokou stays silent. She was in no mood to talk. One one person she wholeheartedly cared about lay on the bed before her, still unconscious but breathing softly. Burn scars poke out from beneath medical bandages.
A few moments pass before Marisa spoke again, her voice sounding strained.
“I’m sorry. I was the one who told her to go after the ripper… If she had stayed with me and refused to go after it she would probably be safe and sound by now.” a pause. “I know she means a lot to you...”” Another pause. “But Eirin said she would be fine… I guess her hakutaku form came in handy after all.” Mokou's fist clench in anger, but then loosened again. Her trembling hand reaches her eyes, tired eyes still swollen and puffy from tears. As if trying to correct her previous sentence Marisa hastily continued“I mean, she’s safe now! And we’re gonna catch the bastard behind this ze.”
Mokou sighed, realizing this was Marisa's desperate attempt to make amendments. "I wouldn't call Keine lying defenseless, unconsious, while her beloved Village is without a guardian, at any moment anything can come to take her own live or the lives of people she cares about." said Mokou bitterly. "We're not going to catch it. I'm going to incinerate it" finished Mokou, her fury evident; Smoke hissing out of her head like a boiling kettle.
Its been three hours since Reimu and Marisa headed off to Eientei. A small pile of dust puffs up at her feet as she touched down in front of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. She'll need to make sure the entrance is more...spotless next time.
"Meling, wake up" said Sakuya calmly, not even turning to look at the gatekeeper.
